Fast service and friendly Happy staff Food was fast and nice. Price was good for five mains and three pudding. There was a few flies in the restaurant which was off putting.

Got the 2 pub classic offer - lasagne and chicken curry for total of £12.49. Just the right size and quality to round off a day and fill a hungry hole. No horses were fed as part of this deal. :-)

Recently changed menu, so worth a revisit if you've not been for a bit. Alot of the new food is great. Loving the lamb kofta wraps on the lunch menu.

Fantastic meal with the family. Staff were brilliant and attentive. We look forward to our next visit. I was speaking to the new manager. Seems like a lovely bloke. Anyway I would definitely recommend this place

Only called for one drink on the way to another venue to celebrate my birthday and I've just received a £100 parking fine because I didn't register my car at the bar!!! Never saw that I had to and bar staff never mentioned it. Happy birthday to me!! Won't be returning...only getting one star because I've got to to be able to post and make others aware.

Absolutely appalling food, so disappointing normal go to Stanley ferry but thought we would try these as there also hungry horse never again. You can’t even ask for a refund because you have to pay for the food first, should compensate people with a voucher if only I’d of read the reviews before I arrive at the walnut tree!! Such a let down

Food was average, staff friendly. Be careful to give your registration number or, like me, you will be fined £100! I am appealing against it and hopeful to have it squashed. Not enough advertising that it wasn't free and needs staff to prompt customers in my opinion

Came yesterday the portion of food was really bad to say its classed as mega mix grill! The food taken well over 40mins to come for me to complain that it was clap cold! Its gone really down hill and judging by other comments people think the same! Waste of time and money!

If management read this then please don't ask me to ring you. I will not be contacting you. I've been here twice before for breakfast and it was beautiful, no problems. When I came here Tuesday, their was grease on the plate, the egg was slavered in grease. I don't know if it's chef or whatever but it was not nice. I had D&V the next day, at work bringing up said breakfast. I won't be coming back as this has put me off. The staff were lovely, the service was next to none but the food was not good this time. Sorry

Great pub staff really lovely and make you feel welcome. Food is really good and always red hot and comes out very quick.

2nd time in a month me or my family have eaten here, and felt extremely ill afterwards, diarrhea and sickness with every member of family, all ate breakfast menu, thought this was a coincidence first time but pretty sure it's not now. Lovely atmosphere and service but the food has left a lot to be desired. Could be the oil could be how food is stored. Love this place normally so a bit disappointed on these 2 occasions.

Stopped 3 times in the last 2 weeks for a cheeky pint after work. As I was in my scruffy builders work gear , choose to go in via the tradesmans entrance, go to bar , then stand outside round the back so nobody has to sit in my work muck and dust . Cracking pint to be fair . Only today on my 3rd visit, with the pub having building work done , I used the front entrance. Only then to see the little computer asking to put my reg in ! Or get a parking ticket . Absolutely zero mention of this by any staff members in my 2 previous visits even tho they clearly knew id come into the pub round the back . If I'm fined I won't be paying it , I paid with my bank card for my pint , I've evidence I was in the pub . Train your staff to tell your punters you've got a set of shithouses running a parking scam . Put your reg in that computer round the corner or pay £100.

Served by Siobhan, having my usual 15oz gammon. Great service by the staff member. Highly recommend place to come. Ace staff and food

Worst Sunday roast ever. Sunny day went for a walk past this pub called in for food. Ordered beef Sunday roast. Ran out of roast potatoes got extra mash, which was definitely not make from a potatoe. Was hard , dry and salty. Couldn’t get knife through stuffing or Yorkshire pudding, beef was also hard and dry and a small bit of veg, 1 sprouts, 1 small piece of cauliflower and a few carrots and peas. I bet prison foods better.

Still an unclean play area with sticky tables

£100 fine for parking in their car park to use their pub. I go in often and sometimes the machine to put your registration doesn’t even work then they dish out £100 fines when you are in their pub buying food and drinks. 1 hour and 8 minute stay spending money with them to be rewarded with a fine.

Service was great friendliest staff I've experienced at a green king food was nice but forgot coleslaw and puddings were really dry. I find alot of the time the food is ok ish but some deserts definitely don't match the advertisements.

Visited for the 20+ time with my kids to enjoy the wacky warehouse. They've introduced a rediculous car parking system, where you have to register your car reg at the main bar. We went straight into the wacky warehouse and were not informed that we needed to register the car. We have never had to do this in the many years we have visited in the past. Few weeks later, got a £60 fine in the post. Absolutely rediculous. I take a little responsibility since I didn't see the signs, but when you're trying to get a toddler and a 5 year sorted and safetly through a busy car park, you don't tend to notice signs, especially when you've visited so many times without issue in the past. Won't be visiting again, absolute scam in my opinion, there's no need for this policy at all, other than greed. Bit dated, dirty and dingy nowadays anyway.

First visit in a long time food good cost no bad at all nice staff sat in adults area 2 kids sat near by no adults with them a pain staff did nothing to stop them only problem

Ball pool needs a good clean and I think outdoor play area needs up dating with more thing for smaller children as well as older one’s that climb frame isn’t safe they have so much wasted space down the side I think on nice sunny days they’d have more customers if they put in more outside play areas for all ages

Amazing service, always coming and checking in on us making sure our food is okay and if we needed anything else. Lots of available games to play like darts and pool which we enjoyed. Not been here before but will definitely be coming back!

I found that this playground wasn’t the best fit for younger children. My two-year-old had difficulty climbing up to the slide because the ladder was designed for children over five years old. This made it challenging for my toddler to fully enjoy the playground. I would recommend this place for older kids who can navigate the equipment more easily.

WATCH OUT! If you don't catch the signs then you'll get charged for Parking. When you have a meal here. Apparently the staff are not obliged to let you know. Which I think they should as part of customer service. I'm local and never knew it had changed I got a Parking fine through the letter box today :(. Call up and they should take it off for you.

Having not visited here for quite a while, it's safe to say we'll never be returning. Lacklustre staff, service left a lot to be desired and the food was merely for refueling. At least we had a good bonding experience over the whole thing. When the kids meal is the highlight of your trip you know something isn't quite right. The lukewarm temperature at which the food was served was perfect for her to tuck in straight away. The steak was cold and nigh on impossible to cut through. It would have been nice to complain to someone at the time but nobody seemed to be available to speak to. We had been designated a table for two hours and had to leave before we'd been able to cut through the whole steak. We knew what to expect from this type of establishment, having eaten at other Hungry Horse locations, but this really was scraping the barrel. If we hadn't been hungry we simply wouldn't have attempted to eat. Not an experience to be repeated.

Food was poor mostly microwaved especially the kids pasta. The sauce wasnt its best so was left, did bring it to the attention of staff who offered to remake it. Whacky wear house was spot on kids loved it

We went to Wacky Warehouse for about 15 minutes. The place stunk like a public toilet, the play equipment has seen better days, all cracked, very worn, and a lot was bare of the covering. Most definitely will not be going again, and certainly will not be recommending

Amazing evenings. Staff, food and drink all of good quality. Staff serve with a smile all the time. Beth Hobson, always an example whether she is on duty or off she always smiles and greets with a cheer. Luke and others are amazing tooo.

I’ve been to a hell of a lot of play areas but the wacky warehouse at the walnut tree really is the worst I’ve ever been to. Arrived at 11:50, so presumably no one had dined for lunch yet. The tables hadn’t been cleaned from the night before, there was dried sauce on one of the chairs and table that we sat at, chips and peas scattered on the floor and on the chairs. The chairs themselves are horrible, they have huge chunks of foam missing, ripped material, really need replacing. The floor was filthy, my child had black socks within minutes of being there. The actual play area was dirty, I am one hundred per cent expecting her to get sick in the next couple of days. The toilets are grim and in need of updating. Not just that they’re old, but not clean either. Staff not very friendly. Food not bad, but not good either. The chips were cold. All in all, a truly terrible experience and will not be returning here.

Disgusting. Ordered food and none of it was correct to what it said on the menu.Even if it has changed there has been no updates on the menu nor any of the staff informed us. The staff were just as bad.Feeling very let down by all the meals we had here.

Popped in for a quick drink and dessert, staff on bar were unfriendly, it showed in their demeanor and the eye rolls they gave us at simple questions about food. Waiting staff all seemed miserable and unknowledgeable. Poor manager seemed overwhelmed and run off her feet. Beer lines need cleaning , and ice cream texture was gritty

Met up with some good friends and had a good evening. Food was good (shared starter was great, main meal burger was good but not better than I've had elsewhere), atmosphere was chilled and service was excellent with friendly, helpful and professional staff.

I would definitely question the hygiene rating after eating here. I've suffered from food poisoning after eating here and will avoid eating here again in the future. It would be interesting to see the outcome from a food inspection, especially on an evening when they're seemingly low staffed.

Usual Hungry Horse chain restaurant. There is a large carpark at the rear, but quite a few steps to get into the building from the carpark. The interior is OK, and usually the food is a bit better than some of the Hungry Horse pubs I have been to. There is an adults only section in the dining room.

Great starter, cracking main will bring the family back next time

Staff was un helpful, asked if we could have a knife & fork to eat our meals to be told rudely you get them your self , which if fine but the way staff snapped I found it very rude ....food came out Bland & tasteless... oh & tables were sticky....

Came in on Sunday afternoon with family, food was absolutely horrendous, staff didn’t look like they wanted to be there at all. We went into the wacky after so the kids could play and the place absolutely stunk. The toilets were an absolute state and smelled of urine.

Good atmosphere, all the staff are really friendly especially siobhan really polite and helpful, would recommend. :)

We go quite regularly as a couple of with our adult children. If we ever have issues they are usually resolved. The menu was restricted on our last visit which I wasn't told about until we got there and I rang to book?

The breakfast is always great here and so are the staff. Good value for money

It’s a dirty dirty pub, all the glasses were not cleaned properly. All drinks were flat even the soft drinks. Over priced. Customer service was shocking. Safe to say I will not be returning!

Absolutely filthy in the play area. Tables are grime ridden, chairs have holes in them. Absolute cesspit for bacteria. 1000 places better to go other than here.

We go here because they have a Wacky Warehouse which my two granddaughters enjoy. They both had birthdays in December. They found us some candles for our cake and lit them for us so we could sing to them. They have food deals during the week - yesterday we all got curry and a drink for £7 (supersized is £10). The girls ate from the kids menu. It was an enjoyable visit.

Food,I ordered an extra order of chips,they arrived when I was half way through my meal.One of our friends did the same and theirs arrived when they had finished the meal. Service,we ordered a child's meal,when this arrived, the waitress just about threw the meal onto the table. Atmosphere, no atmosphere at all to say it was Boxing day. We sat in 3 different areas of the pub and it was cold,with air ventilation blowing cold air and the radiators were cold. Parking,plenty of parking. All in all very disappointing and will not be visiting again for the foreseeable future. Also cannot blame it on being busy,as at the time,18.00,there was not many customers in the pub.

Had a family lunch yesterday. A large group of us arrived without a booking and the staff were superb. Siobhan worked tirelessly at the bar ensuring our drinks were topped up. The food was excellent.

Only popped in for a few drinks and to burn some of yhe kids energy off. Great play area and staff were friendly. Tvs all round in the actual pub good selection of sport. As requested by management to explain the 'missing star!' I didn't eat food so I can't give a 5 star review based on half an experience.

Food took at least 10 mins to come and also I ordered the ultimate big candymanua and asked for it WITHOUT wipped cream and it came with wipped cream I am quite disappointed and dis satisfied because I heard really good things about this place

Come here a lot for food and drinks and have always liked it due to the excellent value for money, piping hot food, and comfortable surroundings. However, we came with another couple for the Festive menu but sadly, it wasn't up to much. Usually its quiet (sometimes too quiet!) but was a little busier so maybe that's why the standard slipped this time? We were informed there were no crispy potatoes available in the GF dinner so would roast potatoes be OK (GF obviously) - but these were just the frozen type, so tasteless and pale. The vegetables were almost cold and hard, the onion rings on another dish were cold too. Desserts were fine. Its a pity as its the first time we've brought anyone else with us ,that the food wasn't very good. I will say however, the welcome and service was great and we did enjoy ourselves. I'm sure that the next time we go on our own and choose from the usual menu it will be as good as before - I hope so!

Went for breakfast with Santa! He was brilliant with my kids but there was no elves no grotto his present wasn’t even wrapped! Very mediocre when other pubs did it brilliantly don’t think we would book again as it wasn’t as good as expected!

Had lunch my my mum mid week. I had the tandoori sizzler, which was delicious. Mum had the cheeseburger. We finished off with sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble and custard. It was all lovely and fresh and very reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We arrived and were seated promptly, table for 6, food choice was ample and came quickly, portion size more than enough, delicious too. Only down side was 2 of our children couldn't go in the play area and the tables with the TV's were too small to seat us so above 10yrs of age no entertainment. But overall good experience we will be back.

Came Wednesday night the weekly quiz. We come here often as a family as it’s local, but we thought we’d give the quiz a go. Great night, good food and staff are amazing.
