Had it not been for the fact I was absolutely starving I wouldn’t have eaten this wrap at all. Shame we didn’t see the reviews prior to eating here. Over priced food full of grease, the wait was nearly 50 minutes for a full breakfast and a breakfast wrap with bacon and cheese, which you wouldn’t mind if you were given notice of this, but no warning and with two babies and a toddler this wait time is an absolutel no for most parents. There are not enough adjectives to write how disgusting our breakfasts were.

Avoid this place. We had cod and chips. The batter on fish was thick and greasy, with very little cod in it. The chips are tough. It seems they are cut small to cook quicker. They are tough and when you bite one in half there is very little potato in them. Most of the chips are inebible. When you look around at peoples plates after they have finished eating, it seems everyone has the same problem Plates full of batter and tiny chips. When I was in the queue for the toilet a couple of people I was talking to said exactly the same. Seem they cater for tourists as they don't rely on repeat business. Only went in there because it started to rain heavy and we would of got soaked walking to Rick's place. Plates not cleared either. Think that may be because the servers don't have interaction with the unhappy customers. Just a shame we never read the reviews before we visited this awful establishment. 😖

I wish we had checked the reviews on here before we purchased. Takeaway fish and chips for two was £32. Chips were hard and the batter on the fish was very thick and greasy, hiding a small piece of cod. Probably the most expensive and poorest quality fish and chips I have ever eaten (and I have eaten alot)

We visited here yesterday and I have just checked my bank to see an extra payment has been taken out in addition to my payment for breakfast…. Having read reviews this has happened before so this is worrying. The breakfast was awful … cold beans, everything tasted of old frying oil and toast was burnt, the Hollandaise sauce was dreadful and eggs Benedict was just a poached egg on a muffin with no ham! Give this place a wide berth even if the location is 10/10.

We hadn’t seen the reviews prior to visiting but wish we had, then we never would have stopped off here. The battered cod was way too light in colour & undercooked & my seafood soup had too many herbs & was flavourless. Also, we know our Heinz Ketchup & it was definitely not Heinz in the branded bottle or if it was then they had used vinegar to make it go further. My girlfriend was sick back in our room & had diarrhoea which can only be attributed to her food. What a great location the property is in & it is decorated nicely. Just a shame the food is not worth it at all. I did mention to a number of local businesses about our experience & they all said the same thing. “Walkers of Padstow’ yuk, don’t go there” Shame on you Walkers.

Terrible overall experience.. the fish was mush .. how can mushy peas be so bad? Mush with several peas more like ! £29 for two fish , 1 chips , 1 peas and a latte .. I feel like they’ve had my pants down…

This place has been very variable over the past 20 years, and now seems to be at an all time low. We had cod and chips for the umpteenth time in 20 years and it was dreadful. Small fish with horrid batter. Chips were very very dry. And all for £27, what an unbelievable rip off. We have now decreed never to go to this place again. Staff are usually foreign temps, and change constantly. No one gives a hoot about quality. It trades on its prime position in Padstow and has rested on its laurels for so long just raking in the cash without a care for the quality it serves up. Like the other Chip Ahoy, they use pre-cut chips. These have to be coated with “something” to stop them going brown. It’s that coating which makes them tough and dry. It’s too much trouble for them to chip their chips fresh with a machine, and they don’t care about the awful chips they produce. I wish people would boycott this place, but people keep paying their £27. Well not any more. We’re avoiding it and I suggest you do too.

Went in today for a fish and chip lunch in Padstow and was so disappointed. Where do I start? The lack of any menus on the tables, just a barcode to scan for a digital menu on your phone which would have been ok, but when you scan and open the link which directs you to a website you then get an error saying the page is not available. The staff advised it wasn’t working and to go and stand up at the counter to view the one menu they had on a digital screen, which several people were trying to look at all at the same time. Then the food - the chips were extremely hard and looked/tasted like they had been cooked earlier in the day and then reheated - a lot of small remnants which looked like they were from the bottom of the pan and most of them were not edible as they were so overdone and so ended up leaving half of them. The batter was also rock hard. Unfortunately it’s one of the worst fish and chip shop experiences I’ve had and I would not return. It’s definitely the location that attracts people in to this place, but don’t be fooled- my advice would be to go elsewhere. I wish I’d have read the reviews beforehand as it would seem most of them are likely to be true.

I am very dissapointed and believe that this place only survives because of where it is, not because of the quality of food they offer. The fish was small for the money paid and chips were so hard that I had a job to pick those I could eat. This was at lunch time when stuff is supposed to be freshly made. The staff that cleaned the tables were nice, the one behind the take away counter clearly didn't want to be there or didn't want anyone else to be there. Try other places instead if going to Padstow.

Fish and chips for the family after a day on the beach. Walking back through Padstow this is the first place we saw for takeaway. Right on the harbour. No complaints about the food it was exactly as it should be. Staff were friendly in the takeaway part and the food was freshly cooked. Cafe looked pretty busy but we decided to take our food away and enjoy the sunshine and view. Just be careful with greedy seagulls.

Absolutely disgusting worst fish and chips I've ever had . Chips looked like they'd been standing for a week and all dried bits and were cold fish was hard to find underneath the greasy undercooked batter mushy peas ok but cold obviously gets trade because of its prominent position overlooking the harbour hence no effort needed and get away with serving quite honestly inedible food . Absolutley shocking

For 2 adults and 1 child, the total cost of £50 is rather extortionate for fish and chips. I had the scampi, and it was stone cold. Chips were nice. Cans £2.50 each is beyond crazy price. All in all, it is not worth the money, which is probably why the majority of the cafe was empty and we couldn't get in at any other restaurants along the harbour due to being busy.

Chips and peas were excellent but the fish was bland and the batter was soggy, pale and flavourless. Service was ok but they do not accept cash which for me, means I won’t return. Heading to a cashless society is a slippery slope!

Absolutely awful food looked like it was the last portion available, super greasy fish raw batter and black chips most of the box had small burnt bits in, no actual proper chips to expensive!!!!and overcharged for items we didn’t have !!!! Don’t bother!!

5 of us has Jacket Potatoes And they were all delicious, plenty of filling. My eldest daughter had the Cheese, chutney and pesto sandwich and she loved it!! Fast service, very pleasant staff and clean venue. Will be sure to return, thank you.

We had four portions of fish and chips to take away and sit on the harbour. The kids enjoyed theirs but I was disappointed with my fish. Been by the sea and in Padstow, we decided to have fish n chips. We were by the harbour and Padstow Fish n Chips (Walkers), was a large restaurant offering takeout and sit down. As the seagulls were attacking people with takeout fish n chips, we opted for sit down. The chips were anaemic, the fish was under cooked and both, were tasteless. Do your self a favour and look elsewhere, if you want fish n chips in Padstow.

Visited here with my family and we all absolutely loved the food. Service was good and we had a lovely view of the harbour will definitely be coming back.

Stopped off for a coffee and scrambled eggs on toast from counter next to the fish & chips counter as I sat surveying the lovely harbour. Prompt service and the waitress noticed I hadn’t picked up any cutlery and promptly brought them over as it is fatal to leave food unattended in an outside table.

I visited this fish and chip shop on 18 June 2019 with my family. We all had cod and chips. I think it must be the seasonal potatoes but the chips weren't very nice and quite a fes had black holes in them although the fish was nice. I felt that the food was over priced but the prices were rough,y the same wherever you went in Padstow. Next time I will try Rick Steins fish and chips as the price is about the same.

We visited this chippy in May and in the early evening as Padstow is not so busy . I had the haddock and my partner the cod . We both enjoyed our food and sat next to the harbour to eat it . We were warned by the staff to watch out for the sea gulls but we ate in peace .Would eat here again .

I went to this cafe last monday it was very busy and very noisy. We were in the middle of eating our meal when the women on the next table decided to change her child's nappy ! At the table !! She was only a few feet away from the toilet which had nappy changing facilities. This was not a tiny baby but at least an eighteen month old child . When I asked the manager why he allowed this he said he couldn't do anything about it as she might give him a bad review !! Well this is my review and I rate this place as disgusting !

We ate there lunch-time, it wasn't busy. The fish was tasteless and not fresh and the chips were totally inedible. This was obviously not cooked fresh and when my husband complained to the young man serving, there was no apology, just a "so, do you want some more?"
