The walkway to the entrance has so many items its very difficult for more than one person with a trolley to enter the store. The entrance area is the same, the flowers & other gardening items on display looks messy as if items have just been plonked down without any thought as to the overall look of it. The Cafe and fresh meat counters were closed because of a problem, the fish counter was open, with produce beautifully displayed. The store remains a favourite, but perhaps the cold produce isles could look a little more organized, there were quite a few items strewn about, perhaps customers are not as careful in replacing discarded items, but still....... !

The shop is so overpriced, I just could not force myself to buy anything other than two cheeseckes and some muesli. There was a very small half lamb shoulder that caught my attention priced at £14. I paid £8 for one much bigger straight from the farm at Trevennas in Lizard village last week. Funnily though when we bought the lamb along with lots of lovely things there the girl said "We can't compete with the supermarkets" Ha We had a cake and tea in the coffee shop. The tea was good but the girl serving us seemed to think that as well as lemon I would want milk. We all learn everyday. The cakes were good. On the way to the loo, there is a sign saying we must pay our pig farmers well. I prefer to go direct when I can. Byebye Waitrose I am off to M and S foodhall. I came wanting to spend money, but your prices are just silly

Fantastic to have waitrose it Truro, but hugely disgusted by the amount of food waste. I have visited Waitrose every few weeks. Sadly every time the shelves are piled high with food covered in yellow reduced stickers- much of it going off on the day bought, meaning that most of the food will be wasted. I have spoken to staff who also feel upset by the amount of food waste. They say that they cannot change how the system works. It is very upsetting to see, when many people in Cornwall are going hungry. I just hope that some of it gets passed onto food banks. I would like to know how and when this problem will be rectified.

Ordered a small traditional breakfast. Lovely to be offered the choice of fried, scrambled or poached eggs. Breakfast arrived in what can only be described as a large soup bowl. Why???? Has the chef tried to eat from a bowl with a knife and fork?? It doesn’t work. Food was piping hot. Scrambled egg was somewhat watery and lacked seasoning. Wondered if it had been made with liquid egg but the bit of shell in it made me think not. Flavour easily sorted by nice salt and pepper mills on the table. Plenty of butter for the toast too which was good. On the whole, not bad, but please put food you need to cut on plates not in bowls 😊

My husband is a coeliac and the only guaranteed gluten free choice was a pre packed egg and rocket sandwich. He hates egg! The woman making the coffee, kept her back to us and said that they couldn't call anything gluten free as it had been prepared in a kitchen where other stuff was made. The young lad serving explained the same but in a far friendlier manner. We had a cup of tea! Just expected more from waitrose!

Whilst in Truro, I had lunch at the Waitrose restaurant. It was pretty quiet so my order was taken immediately. I tried the vegetarian option from the board behind the till. They had a Persian vegetarian dish which looked interesting. I chose a table by the window and took a complimentary newspaper from the rack to read. A few minutes later my coffee arrived and then five minutes after that a delicious looking meal was placed in front of me. And it was....delicious. It was fresh, tasty, and a mix of lentils, chickpeas, spinach, watercress, pomegranate and topped with grilled Haloumi cheese. I hope this stays on the menu for a while. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean tables etc, super lunch.

Plenty of good parking and proper sized parking spot. And yes they cater for the disabled/physical impaired. The Cornish Cafe is a great cafe for light meals, and quick snacks. It also displays a lot of Cornish food and produce to buy. As well as the usual Waitrose retail food market produce. Quite a little gem.

Drove to Waitrose this morning and planned to have breakfast there before using the park and ride into Truro. I was disappointed last year when the potato omelette was withdrawn, though not surprised as it was rarely available - staff used to say it was because the Truro branch was the last on the delivery line. Today I chose the small vegetarian breakfast and the staff who served me were all very friendly and helpful. But the veggie sausage and bacon was the most disgusting I've ever tasted!! You really let yourself down Waitrose if you think it's ok to serve food like this.

After looking to order at the counter we were told it’s table service. Cool, found ourselves a table. Couple of minutes passed, no service so I asked if we could have a menu for. The counter.Reply “we will bring one over.” A few more minutes pass. No menu so I decide to take a picture of the menu on the wall; food choice on the lunch menu appeared disappointing, take away menu display behind counter far better. I approach counter and ask if we can in fact order from the take away menu but eat in. Reply “I will check and someone will be over” Hmmm, after sitting down a third time and waiting a few more minutes with no staff approaching us, or being actually helpful we were out of their. Take note Waitrose cafe, you need to up the service!

Called in for some shopping with a friend and had a coffee in the smaller cafe unit towards the back of the store. Now that the rules have changed for the Waitrose card offer, we were offered Banana Cake with nuts on top, or an Almond Croissant. It was ok for us but if I was with a different friend who has a severe but allergy, this would not have been suitable. In saying this, what we had was very good and the coffee was nice and hot.

There are two cafes in Waitrose in Truro. One serves Cornish produce and is absolutely superb. We should have chosen that one again, but wished to sit outside on a lovely sunny day, so we elected to eat lunch in the cafe inside Waitrose which has outdoor seating. I had a passable sandwich, but my daughter's 'spicy bean tortilla' was a cheaply produced wrap with barely a dessertspoonful of filling in it, with a handful of watercress straight out of the packet. Not good value at all! I know where I'll be lunching next time I visit Waitrose

This supermarket is in a very convenient location to Truro and the park and ride, it is where we do the largest amount of our shopping. The Cafe/ restaurant is fine and the staff are first class the only problem is that, on occasions, they are obviously short staffed so tables can be left with dirty plates etc. a small point I know, but annoying. I use this Waitrose store regularly, staff are polite but I do find it a little annoying the amount of stock piled on trollies waiting to be put on the shelves just left in the aisles, shouldn't this be done before the store is open. I've visited this new Waitrose store in Truro on several occasions. It has a 'Park and Ride' service, plentiful free car parking and is surprisingly easy to access from all directions. Staff are delightful; friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The main store is well laid out with the usual choice of products and several eating areas. It is a shame though that the layout does not accommodate a wider range of gifts/goods for the home, similar to the Saltash one, which has an excellent choice. My major gripe about this new store is the lack of ladies loos! With the amount of footfall and several eating places, two cubicles are simply not enough!! The attached Cornish Food Store and Café however are clever additions, complementing the main supermarket whilst supporting the local economy. Calm and cool, I've eaten here several times already and yesterday enjoyed the fish soup which had great depth of flavour and the lightest of ciabatta bread. Well done chefs!
