Very nice pub while staying next door at the premier inn, This pub was really spacious with plenty of seating area,It was nice and clean,Food was great and so was the pub staff,Really friendly, I would definitely visit again when I'm in the area.I would recommend the grill section of the menu.

Went in with my wife and two kids. food was amazing. The care they took in the allergy meal was spot and really helpful. The team where really nice and working hard. Cant wait to return!!!

I've not been here for a while and it's not changed. It's a large space and doesn't feel cosy and was very empty. We couldn't fault the service but the food quality isn't great but you get what you pay for. Great budget family venue but if you want something a little more intimate for 2 this isn't the place.

Three of us went for lunch here on a Sunday and we ordered 2 roasts and a sloppy Joe toast. The roasts advertised a deal with drinks so we ordered 2 glasses of plain cider instead of fruity bottles as those weren't included, and then it turned out we weren't able to have the deal in conjunction with some vouchers we had so we ended up with 2 drinks we didn't particularly want for the same price as the drinks we did want, and then we were given what I believe was a Southern Texas toast instead of the sloppy Joe toast. So I ended up eating a rather disappointing and underwhelming chicken and Mac&cheese sandwich instead of sloppy Joe which I love. We didn't even know they did another pasta based toast, so just assumed it was a rather bad sloppy Joe rendition with some chicken in and only realised part way through when looking at the menu for something else it wasn't bad, just entirely the wrong item! It turns out the staff member had heard "sloppy Joe toast" when we ordered and just clicked the first toast option on the screen (so we were actually even charged for a more expensive toast we didn't want or order!) but as we had no idea until afterwards there was nothing we could do about it. Overall, rather disappointed with lunch and not sure if I'll go back again, even though I'd initially been intending to take a small group outing there for a meal as well.

Online when booking said there were no tables till 11 but we walked in at 10.30 and the place was empty. Breakfast was ok quick service, the face to face service is great but the online needs looking at. Breakfast was ok eggs were over done apart from that would return for a breakfast.

This place has really changed for the better!! Been coming here for years now and to date is by far the best it has ever been. Came for an evening meal with a group of friends served by the as always excellent Chloe. Alex behind bar was amazing. All staff deserve praise. Excellent!

Staying at hotel next door. Came in for meal first time down here Friday evening, was made to feel very welcome greeted at the door by a lovely young lady. All staff seemed to be very professional and work like they want too. Food came out in quick fashion and was lovely. Also special mention to Alex who treated us like we were the only people in the restaurant.

Visited the vine for a meal with our family, and had a great meal. Staff were really good, play area for children was great and food was great and at a brilliant price. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We visited with our children for a family meal, the staff were super friendly and service was amazing! Food was brilliant and lots of deals for us to choose from, even lots of choices on the non-gluten containing menu for me and my son which is brilliant to find somewhere!

I stayed at the Premier Inn next door and ate at the Vine every night. The food was good value and the friendliness of the staff was excellent. A special shout out to Chloe P who was a credit to the business with her friendly and enthusiastic personality.

Went here for dinner after Peppa pig world. Service was great, the staff were all friendly and chatty. Food came really quickly, we arrived about 5:20pm and were finished eating by 5:55pm which with a tired toddler is perfect. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Wine was great and well deserved after a day at Peppa pig world. There's plenty of condiments that you can help yourself too. There's also children's activity pages and crayons.

Not even a star !!!! We went there !! There was no one at the door to greet us.. my partner was at the bar trying to get served . But there was another person jumped in front got served. I was looking for a table there was loads of free tables . So we just walked out !! Your loss not ours!!!

As a chain restaurant, the food was cooked properly, and everything was correct. the service was efficient and quick. Overall, I can't fault them. Nice, polite and you get what you pay for. Only one criticism would be attention to detail of rubbish and debris on the floors.

Popped in as only 2 of us home and couldn’t be bothered to cook, only had the £6 burger stack , asked for chips arrived with fries, which were lukewarm at best , a sorry was all that was offered , then disappeared, burger was ok , fries awful, not been there for a while and now realised why!!!Very tired decor, mostly people who are eating , I guess are staying in the hotel!!, lucky them!!!certainly won’t be returning anytime soon!!!

Awful,food was not up to standard we have experienced at other Green King pubs Plates and cutlery were not very clean. Whole place needs a revamp .

Food was amazing and so much to choose from. Drinks range was also very good. Wacky Wearhouse was clean and staff were very friendly also. Will definitely be going back.

This place is what it is, if you want value for money then this will do nicely. If you are looking for a nice quality meal, then this is not where you want to be, but if you just need a good honest meal with no thrills and spills then give them a try. I have never had bad service here and the food is always good value.

Filthy tables, chairs, walls, toilets, self serve cutlery was dirty, no mugs available for hot drinks. No teaspoons available for children to use for puddings. Food looked and tasted like it had been microwaved. Gravy boat was up-ended at least 3 seconds before the blob of gravy hit the plate 🤣

Basic food, served in a basic setting. Not in a negative way. If you want simple food, cooked well and portioned appropriately, then this is the place for you. Family friendly and literally round the corner from Paultons Park.

Booking: We visited 27/08/2024 and I booked a table for myself and my 6 year old daughter the night before. Booking was simple and painless. Staff: When we arrived we were greated by a young male member of staff. He confirmed our reservation and showed us to our seats promptly. I ordered our meals, classic fish and chips and children's ciabatta pizza from the bar, the service was reasonably quick but the staff did seem stressed and less than enthusiastic, but they were polite. We were asked about any dietary requirements when ordering any food which is always comforting! Food: My fish and chips was average, the batter was dark, almost as though it had been sat for too long. The fish was tasty as were the chips. My daughter's ciabatta pizza was very well received, she ate every part of the pizza without any fuss and even commented that it was delicious. Drinks: We had a wide range of drinks to choose from (children's and non-alcoholic) and staff were more than happy to make any adjustments to my order when requested.

Staying at the Premier Inn next door I was somewhat surprised to find that it was reservation only, so I dined elsewhere. I did however pop in for a drink on return. I was surprised by the price. I'm used to paying London prices in London, not a pub in Southampton!!

We called in here for breakfast on the way to Poulton Park/Peppa Pig World. Being attached to the Premier Inn we thought it would be the usual buffet style breakfast (the Premier Inn website even shows it as this here). However it wasn’t. Also didn’t open till 9. So by the time you’ve got in, ordered and got your food you’re already rushing. They should open earlier for breakfast - many more people will use it then on the way to Poulton. Food was ok. Kids portions extremely small though.

Booked a large family meal for 20 people for our daughters 21st. Staff were very friendly.. a special shout out to chloe who dealt with the booking and was very helpful on the evening! Sent in a pre order and every meal came out as ordered and the food was lovely. The only down side was the bar que was quite long and the two ladies running the bar were rushed off there feet. Thank you for a enjoyable evening

We visited last night and have got to say it wasn't the best experience. The girl who greeted us at the door was lovely and showed us straight to our table. We went to order at the bar and a different member of staff tried charging us £38 for what should have been a £30 meal/drinks. I questioned this twice and she was adamant it was £38, even reading out the prices of the drinks to me. Eventually she realised she'd added an extra meal to our bill so took it off. When the food came my veg lasagne was cold, and I mean stone cold to the point that I could stick my finger straight in the middle and not even feel warm. We asked for a replacement. It came after everyone else had finished eating. The girl who served us just dumped it down in front of me, no apology, and started clearing everyone elses plates away. The top of the lasagne was warm but, again, I could stick my finger straight in the middle with ease. Even the people on the table next to us were surprised that it was so easy for me to do that. The staff member asked if I wanted another. By this point everyone else was ready to leave so I asked for a refund. She just nodded and walked away, again no apology. We eventually went to the bar and the staff member who had initially seated us came over and asked if we were the table who needed a refund. She absolutely saved our experience, she was apologetic, refunded us immediately, apologised again and even offered us free desserts, which we declined. The rest of the staff should definitely take a leaf out of her book as she was fantastic. We had to planned to go back again this evening as we are staying in Totton for the weekend however have booked to go elsewhere.

Cheap and cheerful. But it's let down by staff who get angry when remedying mistakes made, and a limited menu where you order and they don't have it in stock. But its cheap. So thats a plus.

We came here for a quick meal and were pleasantly surprised. Staff is very friendly. Everything on the menu is very affordable and as it was Friday we choose the hamburger meals as they were 2 for the price of 1 on Fridays. Everything was very tasty and you certainly can't complain when you get two meals for just £11,79. For other days they have great meals as well. So we'll be back to try some other dishes as well

Went for a family breakfast with 4 dogs. Made very welcome choice of places to sit so chose the garden. Huge breakfasts , all cooked to perfection. Loads of toast , jam and marmalade. Perfect Will definitely be back

Food wasn't cooked as well it could well what I mean by this it was very dry. The

Menu item had problem with part because of peanut contamination. Asked to have rest of menu without the withdrawn item. Told it was not company policy, no attemp to satisfy me requirement

Booked online table for three at the only slot left 21:00 got confirmation back saying “ We’re looking forward to welcoming you at Vine Inn (Ower)” Arrived half hour early and told booking had been cancelled as kitchens had closed early. Very disappointed as we had waited around for two hours as there was no others slots available . Apparently your online bookings can be just cancelled, NOT recommended….

Took my child to peppa pig world and saw this place and decided to come in for a meal, when we walked in we were told it was unfortunately bookings only however Alex managed to find us a table and sorted all our needs, Tegan who delivered our food was excellent and fast service. Had slight issue with food but Alex generously offered us a free drink. Would definitely recommend!

Brilliant pub to come to very family friendly and Christine is fantastic she goes above and beyond everytime we come in and always smiling no matter what.

Came Saturday 20/7/24and today Tuesday 23/7/24both times Christine was there she was very attentive and very friendly very good service food was very good all round a pleasant experience all around .

We checked into the Premier Inn next door and wanted to grab a quick dinner with our 2 young children after being on the road for 3 hours. As we got to the front of the line to ask for a table the manager asked if we had a booking to which we said no. She then started talking aggressively at us saying “everyone from Paulton Parks just wants to turn up here without a booking” to which I apologised as we hadn’t realised we had to book and also stated we were from premier inn and she replied “well we’re not a part of premier inn”, again in an aggressive tone. I then tried to defuse the situation and said we can make a booking online and see when there is a table available for her to say “no it’s fine I’ll have a look now”. She then showed us to a table that was right in front of the windows where the sun was beaming in and my kids were just burning. The reason I state this is because she literally walked past a table of 4 which was free and no reserve sign on it. Whilst we were trying to order our food, she was complaining to the customers on the next table saying “look how dirty the chairs are, all these kids come here and just throw their food everywhere” which made us feel even more uncomfortable. At first we just thought she might have been having a bad day but she literally was just so rude to us yet she was being so friendly to the table next to us. Seems such a shame to have the attitude she did when firstly, you are working in hospitality so customer service is key and secondly, in the current financial climate we have, you would think she would be happy to have customers.

The good : Service / Staff attitude Value Speed of service The bad : Food quality (not all but some) Cleanliness (my main issue) I am normally very reluctant to leave a bad review as working in the service industry I know how important it is, but feel I had to on this one. Let me start off by saying the staff was very nice. I ordered food etc. Turned up promptly but garlic bread was burnt (not over done or slight Charing but burnt). I didn't send it back which is my fault but I was hungry and all I could really taste was a burnt taste. No Biggie at this point. Went to get cutlery for mains and all of the cutlery was disgusting. Not just a few items but all of them. Food not washed off properly etc. I actually took it to the toilet and washed it off it was that bad. I could forgive if one or two items was slightly dirty but I've never seen any thing so bad. May sound like I'm exaggerating but I'm not. Mains come.. chicken done ok and tasted fairly good but my salt n pepper seasoning for the chicken was dumped in a pile over a select few chips rather than sprinkled over my chicken. Coleslaw was awful - I appreciate I am not paying for a nice hand made slaw but it was a tiny dolop and was warm and horrible. My partner said her meal wasn't great and she didn't enjoy it. The restaurant wasn't very busy but the staff did say about staffing issues so I assume the kitchen was running lean staffwise. I can see the owners are very responsive to review and probably care about the business. I hope things change or this gets addressed. I rarely leave a review below 4 stats and can appreciate you can have a bad experience foodwise if food rushed or short staffed but the state of that cutlery was unacceptable - I've never had to go and was it in a bathroom before. Food wasn't great but not expecting the world as it's only a green king and not a Michelin star experience. Sorry for bad review but on this occasion it's how I felt.

This is the perfect pub for the family, play area for the kids, winnable prizes in the grabber and the food is amazing, as a chef I do look for places that will surprise me and for £8:50 I got an 8oz rump steak with chips and 2 corn on the cob, the steak was cooked perfectly, I have it medium rare, the chips were great, nice and crispy and the corn was as cooked to perfection. I also had a pint of John smiths which is rare for this neck off the woods. I paid £13:50 in total for a steak dinner and a pint. This is my second time at this pub as I travel up and down the uk with work. The staff where really friendly and the atmosphere was great. I recommend this pub to families and truckers who are passing buy.

What a great place to go to after a hectic day at Peppa pig land, the staff were super friendly and the food was lovely, just a shame some of the items were out of stock, they could also do with an extra pair of hands as they seemed to be a person down, but they mashed to keep on top of everything, well done team

Lovely staff, came here 2 days in a row after going to paltons park with the family. First day our fries were double dipped, so we're very greasy, we mentioned it but told them not worry about it. 2nd day everything was brilliant, fresh and hot. If we come to paltons park again in future we'll definitely eat here again

We decided to go to the Vine as we could get 15% off the bill with our AA card. The whole place is rather tired and needs some TLC. Although the food was very reasonably priced, it was not of a very high standard.

Staff were lovely, food was lovely, outstanding service and will definitely return. We were made to feel very welcome and staff went out of their way to make sure we were OK, thank you.

Nice food at affordable prices! Can't fault the service and all the food we had was good and were very big portions! Will definitely be a go to from now on! The only con I would say is the pub itself needs updating and the tables to be a bit cleaner, but I'm just happy to be at a Hungry Horse as many of them are unfortunately changing to other Greene king pubs!
