I have stayed here a couple of times in the last week. The breakfast is very poor. This morning there was no fresh milk, the scrambled egg was from a packet mix and the bacon was pink and limp. I had the steak and chips in the restaurant too. Steak was like leather, chips were lukewarm warm and pasty. The price of the food is also extremely high for what is on offer. Honestly, don’t eat in here if you can help it.

We did not stay at the hotel, we ate there, we went as a three and honestly, for what we ate the prices were so high. All three meals we after were unacceptable and none of us ate our meals, but not once did someone come and check if the food was ok. I had grilled chicken burger, the chicken was so over cooked you could probably break a window with it. my boyfriend had an American double cheeseburger, same thing… dry… but as well as this he upgraded his fries to cheesy fries and they just came out as regular fries. My boyfriends mum had salmon bowl which was basically a microwaved piece of salmon on some overcooked vegetables slop. For a £78 total I feel we would have a tastier meal at Maccie D’s!

Family meal on a Sunday night. Service a bit slow but staff friendly. Expensive for what is was but it’s a nice space with big screens showing sport and a couple of rows of cinema style seating. Has an American hotel bar feel. Manager dealt with the ejection of a problem customer discreetly too. nothing special but I would probably visit again.

Booked a table for a large group in advance for a Friday lunchtime. Only times available to book were 11am or 1pm, so opted for 1pm. Bar staff were very busy and stressed and clearly not happy about a large group arriving and ordering food individually. However, I called over a week in advance to enquire if we needed to pre-order for a large group and the man I spoke to just seemed confused and said someone would call me back, which they didn't. We couldn't really order food all together at the bar and then split payments, as would have been overly complicated. It took a long time for us all to order through 1 member of staff and consequently food arrived gradually and some took a long time. We were warned this when we arrived, but would have expected sufficient staffing to cope with a large advance booking. Alternatively, the booking system should have given us the option to book for midday, before the lunchtime rush. Food was good and reasonably priced, just don't recommend booking a table for a large group or going at peak times.

The venue itself is very good, different areas around the bar to suit everybody. It’s a shame they’ve done away with Sunday Carvery, but the Roast was pretty good, plenty of meat, individual bowls of veg, plates and gravy pots were piping hot. Out sticky toffee puds were a little rubbery but the sauce and ice cream solved that. Can be a little noisy depending on when u go. We were there to watch rugby so it was a fairly loud afternoon but we had expected that.

The Grill Restaurant has been changed to a Sports Bar with large TV screens and a loud atmosphere. We were looking forward to a nice meal out but sorry it’s not for us. We walked out without ordering anything and went somewhere else. What a shame that in a fairly large hotel there is no choice of restaurants.

The standard of food and service between Sunday 12th Jan and a Sunday in late November was enormous. In November the food was wonderfully presented on a wooden board, tasted superb, generous portions and service excellent. In January it came plonked on a plate, the turkey was dry, the beef was good, potatoes under cooked. When we arrived staff wouldn’t acknowledge us until we stood in front of them. They knew nothing about the kids eat free offer- emailed to us, on website and by their front door! Took the entire meal to sort out. I would t recommend based o our last visit.

So disappointed to have lost one of our favourite places to eat.We used to enjoy coming to the village with the previous buffet set-up. It was always busy so we were shocked when they changed it. Have now been a few times to the new sports bar & grill and have found it ok. Treated friends for a birthday get together after recommending the place from previous experiences but felt like I should have just opted for a gift! Found some of the starter choices unusual (croissants & muffins ???) The food was ok, we did get served parts of it cold which was disappointing. The sign outside said kids eat free but we were told that was not on sunday and they would have to have meals from the kids menu. What kids menu? No mention of anything other than the sunday lunch menus. Won't be returning for sunday lunch as we miss the range of choices which suited the whole family with fruit pots and mousse puds. Nice to have a place to watch the sports so will probably end up there in the future.

I was a little disappointed that there was no pork or lamb option. That said the food (we all chose turkey) was good quality and had good variety. The waitress who looked after us was extremely friendly and entertained our boy. There was a narrow variety of desserts so we went elsewhere to satisfy my wife’s sweet tooth. There was a large group of us and the waitress was perfectly friendly and quite attentive although the Grill seemed a little understaffed. I appreciate that it is a Sports Bar, with screens everywhere. However, absolutely no need for piped background music in addition. This was simply too much of a sensory overload and made conversation difficult and took the edge off for me. I asked if a loud-speaker next to the table could be turned off. It couldn't, or at least wasn't, turned off. All in all a little too much noise when the group aged from 8 to 80. The food was fine and the roast option went down well.

We came at peak time for a Sunday roast and had booked a table. It was very busy and loud, we were next to a large table with very noisy kids, not the restaurants fault at all though! The chef was very generous with the meat servings which was great, it was a shame that the buffet food was running low by the time we arrived after 3pm (Turkey and pigs in blankets had run out). I hadn't realised that it must end at 4pm, but now I know for next time to book an earlier slot. While staying at hotel we ate in restaurant 8pm and in bar 5pm both experiences were lovely. Service in restaurant being nicer and more attentive but also expected due to prices paid. Whilst bar food was very tasty and fair price, kids menu was reasonably priced and great choices.

Mediocre food. Nothing special about this place. From the size of the TV screens clear what type of people this place is appealing to. Don't know what it is like in there on a sporting event night. Went there on a weekday quiet lunchtime. Portion sizes are very ample and the staff nice.

I asked for a medium rear steak and it came medium to well done.

The prices are extremely expensive for simple food and the drink.

We wasn’t offered any of the offers that were available.

The staff in the restaurant were pleasant and were a credit to the hotel.

I wouldn’t use this restaurant again for the same price I could have gone to a restaurant in London!!

Pre booked table for two. Requested in comments for a quite table away from large groups. When we arrived we got seated next too a very loud group of 20 and also next too a family of 5 with screaming baby. Had to ask staff too move us too a area away from large group but only when a table was free. Ended up starting our starters before we could get moved.

I am a regular in the newly opened Sports Bar. And a former patron of the previous restaurant (carvery). I would give this Four Stars, but because of the behaviour of other guests on days that football is shown (which seems to go unchecked by staff) I feel that only 2 is a fair representation. The food on Sundays (carvery) is excellent, and plentiful. I highly recommend this. The regular 'shouty' menu is overpowering in it's design, and frankly everyone I have eaten with there, is baffled at how anyone can take in what is available - it really needs toning down! My biggest complaint is on a weekend football matchday, when groups congregate in front of the screens and block the view of the games with zero consideration for others trying to watch the action too. Because beer is so cheap, during the match viewing I have seen many young kids so drunk (or high on something), they really do not know what they are doing. And they would actually be thrown out of most local pubs for their aggressive, loud and inconsiderate behaviour. Regretably The Village has no security personnel on duty, or signage asking those sat directly in front of the screens, to avoid standing. Thus obscuring the screens from watchers in the central tables area. Given the troubles over the World Cup in this bar, I would have thought at least one security attendant was an essential addition, especially when Chelsea are on the TV, as they seem to attract a yobbish following in this bar.

We had pre-paid for a set menu and booked our table for 5pm. We were given the set menu and then told that the set menu wasn’t available until 6pm which meant we had to eat pub food instead of the more tempting a la carte menu. At no time prior to arriving for our meal were we told that the set menu was only available from a certain time. Disappointed!!

The food is so over priced for what it is, the “pub” think they can charge £12 for what is clearly a £3 microwave meal from the local shop. It also arrived lukewarm and after several mouthfuls it was cold, the miniscule naan bread that arrived was rock hard. Disappointed to say the least with the food. Service however was good!

Food for this meal was superb but expensive and breakfast on all 3 mornings of stay and meal from grill/pub menu was awful. And there is no de-caf tea

The grill was fine, but I has children with me, and a lot of groups of guys were swearing loudly, which I didn't appreciate.

Might be nice to have a more 'family friendly' area to separate the families from the 'lads nights out'

I have been here a few times in the past and experienced poor service and sub-standard food. So when my friend said she had discount to use on food and drink we decided to try the restaurant again. They have refurbished it and it is now bigger, spacious and airy. It was very hot outside and I didn’t recall seeing (or experiencing) any air con. However our reservation had been taken care of and we were shown to our table. Food and drink is expensive however the portion sizes are big and the food is so much tastier than our previous visits. I had the burger for main (£16!) and chocolate mousse for pudding (£7). Pints of Diet Coke are about £3.75 which I think is a bit steep. The bill cake to about £80 (with discount) and although still pricey, I was happy to pay as the food was so tasty. As for the service the young lady who looked after us was pleasant, chatty and genuinely seemed to care about our experience.

We were served and looked after by a happy and attentive jade from the restaurant, even though the World Cup was playing she was so welcoming and calm! A joy and we will certainly be back and recommend to all friends, family and businesses. Thank you jade and the village

Visited the Villages on a Sunday evening to find they had closed down the old sports bar and transformed the Victory Chop House into a great looking Sports Bar. Ordered Grilled halloumi on a skewer with normal chips - turned up not grilled - looked sweaty possibly warmed in a microwave - I ordered the Greek double lamb burger what a disappointment - have eaten this before and the 2 burgers (Pates) were extremely thin and lack very little flavour. The was very little choice for a Vegetarians, The gentleman who appears to be the meet and greet -frony of house was extremely pleasant and helpful. Sorry Guys will not be coming back for a while and suggest others try elsewhere.

Restaurant is under refurbishment so it was moved to ballroom. Nice and comfortable place however the roast meat was not hot enough and lack of choice for desserts. Waited for 20 mins and no one took our drink order until I called them. But staff is friendly.

I was refused to have a customized order in person based on "we can't remove ingredients because what if something happens to you...", when I tried to remove the beef from loaded fries. This person that said he is the "manager", used reversed health and safety rule that "what if something happens...." to me when removing ingredient (such as beef because I never eat beef but all other ingredients were ok), when actually by adding ingredient to a food is actually the problem in a scenario like this of health and safety. Therefore I was declined my order when many other Dominos shops served me this along with this store's other employees in the past... Worse experience I had with Dominos for many years and Google reviews of 5 stars after my review are proof of biased and influencing from this person to other kind of people to review positively...this is false advertise on Google sadly... and my review is negated.. But this makes my experience even worse... I wish i'd give 0 stars for this...

Popped into Farnborough for a quick few items ....noticed a Wimpy which I have'nt visited for more then 30 years. Service was quick burger and a tea cake cooked to perfection. The restaurant is super clean with spotless floors and tables compared to a MuckDonalds...table service was absolutely perfect with no hovering about which I hate. Will return in the near future and prices very reasonable. Certainly took me back to the 60's / 70's. Rather have a Wimpy over a MuckDonalds any day. 5 stars *****
