Great food, brilliant service, a truly lovely, warm and welcoming team. What a wonderful pub the Thatched Cottage has become!!! Thank you for a superb evening Gary, Jack, Grace and the amazing Chefs in your kitchen!!!

We had a Community celebration for 16 people at the Thatched Cottage on 27th January 2025 and it was fantastic. We pre - booked and had an entire section reserved for our group. The Service from Grace and Jack serving us was faultless. The pub Landlord even came to introduce himself to us and to make sure that we were all enjoying our visit. The quality of the food was amazing. We expected 'pub food' but this was so much more. Every one of our group was blown away by just how good the food was. This was an absolutely awesome evening that we will all remember. The Thatched Cottage Farnborough will definitely be our go to venue for future special evenings and I would wholeheartedly recommend it as a truly special pub to visit when in Farnborough. - 10/10.

We we're a party of five on a Sunday lunchtime when we arrive to a empty car park which should be a clue... the service was great at the bar and the drinks was promptly served but the food was extremely long before it was served. We kept it simple burgers and fish and chips but the pub was empty and it still was 45 minutes. Would I return ...only for a drink but not to eat

Gary the landlord let my friend and I stay overnight in our camper van/motorhome in the car park. He even offered electric hookup if we wanted it. We had a couple of pints and a meal before going to watch football and a couple more beers afterwards. As it was a Tuesday we witnessed the popular and entertaining pub quiz. All staff and customers friendly.

Popped in for a few drinks on a friday evening, what a lovely place. Great music in the Bar area, and the food! The Corn Ribs were superb. Top job!!

Go here occasionally after volleyball training. A good pub, usually a couple of interesting beers, pleasant service. Lovely old building.

Nice local pub. We joined the quiz and were warmly welcomed. It was a lovely evening with decent food and quiz, even if we didn't win haha.

Stopped in yesterday thinking bite to eat and a beer. 1 lady seemed to be running whole bar. Waited 10 mins fid not even get a drink so we left and went elsewhere. Maybe just a glitch. Menu looked very expensive for a pub full of smelly workman in filthy clothes and a couple of "regulars at the bar" should look up the term SOAO and SHOWER some time.

The staff were great. Emily is adorable. The food was good but could be improved. The decor needs an update and refreshing. I’m thinking that with some more attention to the decor this pub could become a lot busier than it was at lunchtime today. Beer was perfect.

It was a school dinner at best! Nothing roasted on the roast dinner, all deep fried or air fried ! Won’t be rushing back unfortunately for food! 😢

Stopped for a beer on way to football... fair prices , nice pleasant staff and seemed like a nice 'local' pub.

Landlord Gary and his team kindly stepped in at the last minute and made room for us to host our school reunion here after we were let down by another establishment with only a week before our event. Great atmosphere, and we all had a fantastic evening! Thanks.

Came on the festive day. Great atmosphere, bar staff were brilliant and a thoroughly enjoyable day. Landlord seems like a nice chap too.

Whilst out for a walk myself and my wife popped into the Thatched Cottage for a quick drink. As it was a hot sunny day we sat in the garden which was nice. The bar staff were very friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely pop in again when we are out and about walking.

I visited for Sunday roast lunch and was disappointed to receive what seemed like frozen food the likes of which is available from low priced supermarkets for a couple of pounds. Staff were attentive but were involved in loud conversations about personal issues, one of which was regarding the fitness for work of one whose state was "self-inflicted" I'd steer clear of this place if you seek a decent meal but the Guinness Zero was acceptable.

Beautiful pub with an amazing atmosphere, staff couldn't be more welcoming. Food was excellent and came in a timely matter. 100% recommend will be returning

Food was delicious and staff made sure to tell us we were close to kitchen closing (that's a good thing, wanted to eat!). The service was a little slow to start, but still great. Would recommend this place!

Amazing! Booked at late notice for Sunday Roast for 3 people on 19/5/24 and received a delicious roast dinner. Very generous portions and cooked to perfection. Lovely atmosphere. The manager and staff were all so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend, and we will definitely be visiting again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The pub itself was pleasant with character, but I'm afraid the Sunday lunch was the worst we have ever eaten. All the food was overcooked, and the veg was just mush. We didn't complain, but we will not eat here again. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

We had a special celebration lunch in c16 century cottage with excellent choice of menu, beatiful cooked, well presented and helpfull staff.

Enjoyed dinner here with 3 colleagues in the beer garden. Plenty of parking, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Recommended.

Good pub. Gary the Landlord is a good man and very efficient and very friendly and very hospitable. He will make you feel welcome.

Nice pub for many reasons. Didn't try the food yet but all the rest is good enough to share. After a few times there to watch football matches (they have loads of screens) or simply to have a Guinness in their lovely garden. Maybe 20 tables outside, Free car park and always a good atmosphere when I visited. The staff is kind and fast, even when busy. I definitely recommend it especially for the upcoming sunny days!

I came here tempted by a pub quiz event. It seemed like it would be fun and it was! I tried lovely pineapple raspberry alcohol free Old Mout cider and several flavours of crisps for sharing with my friends. Beef was my favourite taste. A good place to meet up with friends and go out either weekday or a weekend. Might come back one day for a live music concert. The atmosphere was good and the place was nice. Service was fast even though there were loads of people in. Would recommend it.

We went for Sunday lunch during the Easter holidays. Im glad we booked to go early (12.30) because our drinks arrived quickly, and our order was taken quickly too - ahead of a large party who were seated at the table next to us. They turned out to be quite demanding of the waiting staff's attention, and perhaps that is part of the reason we had an 'OK' dining experience rather than an excellent one. We ordered a variety of dishes between us - the children's mac and cheese looked really nice, and I was told it was tasty. The roast was fine - not great - the veg was a bit overcooked and not very hot when it arrived, though the potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were lovely. More gravy would have been appreciated. One of us had fish and chips which looked lovely, but arrived 5 minutes later than everything else, which was a shame. Once we'd finished our mains, we were just left to our own devices. We weren't offered a dessert menu, we asked for the bill when the serving staff collected empty glasses, but I think we weren't heard and it never came. So we sat and chatted for a while, but it was quite noisy so we went to the bar to pay and left. To conclude, it was fine, but there are many other pubs in the area, so I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Had dinner here last night. Ordered a medium rare steak and it came out burnt and so overdone it was quite off-putting to the rest of the meal sadly. Staff were delightfully kind and friendly, so that’s a big plus for me. We accidentally booked for the quiz night so I’d definitely not recommend a Tuesday for a regular meal. Place itself is gorgeous. I’d recommend it, but pick your meal and day wisely.

If you are looking for a pub that is a cut above the rest in Farnborough, then the Thatched Cottage should definitely be on your list to visit. The current team, led by Gary and Sam, have really put a great deal of effort into raising the profile of the pub and their work is absolutely paying off! They have managed to put together a series of fantastic food options, all prepared using fresh ingredients, to offer a varied menu that takes 'pub grub' to a new level but without charging the earth for it. Kudos to chefs Anton and Theo! Although this approach is very forward thinking, it certainly hasn't come at the detriment of the traditional pub atmosphere and the spaces, both inside and out, are very relaxed and full of character. The cherry on the cake though is the service provided by the team there - always a warm welcome and the staff genuinely seem to care what they do. Take note, Farnborough, the Thatch is a model for what a good pub should be!

Popped in for sunday roast had 2 chicken 1 beef and can honestly say food was lovely great value for money. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back.

Incredible Food, Cannot beat it in the area. Best Pub Grub around. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Entertainment is another highlight, cannot fault the atmosphere. 10/10 Pub. I would reccomend to everyone.

I would give more than five stars if I could! We had a party there over Christmas and we had an absolutely fantastic night!! Gary and Sam were brilliant and they and all the staff looked after us so well! Very friendly and extremely helpful and generous! They provided loads of delicious food and the price per person was fantastic and everybody raved about the food and the whole fun night!! Great choice of drinks as well! We will definitely be back!! If you have not been to the Thatched Cottage yet, go there!! The staff and atmosphere along with great food and drinks and great prices make it such an amazing place to go! Thank you so much again to Gary and Sam and all the staff!

Good pub for a few pints. Not too far from the town centre and has a cosy feel to it.

Excellent pub! We had a post-funeral ‘life celebration’ session on May 30th here for my mum. Very easy to set up remotely (80 miles away), very accommodating, friendly and professional staff. I’m very thankful to the staff and management and am very pleased we chose this venue. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love this Pub it's fast become our favourite local.. Staff are kind and friendly to myself and my children. Nice for a drink and play in the gardens with the kids and equally as nice for a quiet drink and some food with my husband. Lots of events on such as bingo, discos and all sports are played here. Really enjoy the car meets once a month, where large breakfast baps are served and all tea and coffee is complimentary! The building is old and beautifully laid out to maximize the comfort and space, many screens for sporting events, and a quiet dining area and even a cosy little nook

Went to thatchfest. What a great day. The kids loved it, atmosphere was great and music was fantastic.

Really disappointed with yet another meal where the kitchen said they had run out of product but only after taking our orders. They claim to offer a special curry night so we asked before ordering whether they had everything. They said they did only to serve the curries without the individual advertised naan bread for all four of us! Then when we asked to order desserts at 8.30pm they said the kitchen was closed! Waste of time and ruined the meal out.

What ever you do don’t order the beef for Sunday dinner it’s really tough and not edible, however complaining is difficult as the staff are so nice! Would be a perfect pub if the food quality was sorted

Cracking evening at The Thatched Cottage - the staff were welcoming, food (I had the steak) was delicious and plentiful and the beer was cold - what more could the discerning customer want?? I sense the management has recently changed, and there is a friendly buzz to the place, and by the look of the notices they have done great music and events coming up - shame i’m just visiting the area for the week - would be a great local!!
