Had a Sunday carvery,,, AGAIN very very nice excellent service piping hot, great choice of meats and vegetables.Staff very friendly nothing is a problem.Will be back again in 3 weeks when in Cornwall, would highly recommend a visit to this lovely place.

Staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent as was the service. We had the Lasange and Sea Bass. Tasted and looked home made. Good portion size and presented really well. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

Went for Sunday lunch. Warm welcome from Kelly as usual. Abbey who served us was friendly, attentive and nice to talk with. Food was excellent. We had two carveries and one veggie lasagne plus desserts. Will visit again soon.

Absolutely gorgeous and welcoming. We were put in the conservatory, which was ideal for the 16 of us!! All had an amazing carvery and puddings 🍮. The carvery was excellent and a great deal of vegetables available. Most had a large plate, but I could only just finish a standard veggie one. Will definitely be back again, such a lovely place to meet up with family and have a reasonable priced lunch. Thank you Naomi, you went over and above for us all.

Booked table for family reunion after over a year apart. Was given 2 separate tables. When asked if tables could be put together was told, no, we don't do that. Ordered Malaysian curry to search for 3 small pieces of chicken in it. Asked waitress to tell chef and was told by waitress, no feedback from chef! Very disappointed about the whole evening. Will not return again Cf

I dropped my car off at the garage for a service and as I had a few hours to kill , I needed to find somewhere for a pit stop and the garage suggested I visit The Victoria Inn . It was quiet in the bar when I arrived and the staff were very friendly and welcoming . I ordered a full English breakfast , Coffee and orange juice and I have to say it was absolutely delicious , the food was hot and very tasty and I particularly enjoyed the mushrooms. This is one of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve had in a long time and you can see how much I enjoyed it in my before and after photos ! I would highly recommend and I won't wait until the next car service to visit .

As well as amazing food in restaurant today we had a delivery for carvery it was wonderful all fresh veg and really tasty and hot will definitely be ordering again

Food was good but could have done without the barman in the front bar discussing fighting shenanigans with a couple of customers. Really dragged the place down. Shame really.

The staff were amazing they organised breakfast for 70 people at 12hrs notice as we were staying next door for a darts match in Indian Queens. They also gave us a discount. Everyone was so friendly and the service was very fast. Food was superb. Thank you so much, it was much appreciated. I would recommend the Victoria Inn and we will be back next time we play Cornwall. Myself and my husband also had food here on Friday evening and that was also great with lovely staff who made you feel very welcome

Absolutely delicious breakfast here. Best full English I've ever had. Lovely quality including decent sausages and bacon. Perfect.

Popped in previous week for a pint - great choice of ciders and ale... we checked the menu and booked for the following Sunday. Sunday carvery. Three meats on offer with seven veg choices. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and will do their very best to accommodate special requests.

An absolute joke. Rubbish service. Walked in and wasn’t even acknowledged for 15 mins. The three staff at the end of the bar just talking about what they wanted. Don’t go here if you want to eat. They ignore you. McDonald’s is down the road. At least you know what your getting.

What can I say? OUTSTANDING! We were a 50+ party and Louise from the start was so amazing. Her communication was spot on and made a very stressful event very easy. The whole evening from start to finish was top notch from the staff who were so on it. I would just like to say a massive thank you to Hayden especially! You truly made out event so wonderful and we’re so accommodating. Thank you for being very helpful although out the night! We 100% recommend this venue for a party! The buffet option was worth all the pennies & lots of options. Thank you Victoria inn! You made our mothers retirement party spot on!

We fancied a carvery at short notice but hadn’t booked. We arrived at around 4.30pm and the staff were still very busy. The lady on front of house that dealt with us was amazing (a red haired lady but I didn’t get her name unfortunately) and asked us if we would mind waiting as she was sure a table would be available shortly. We sat in the comfy sofas and she duly came back and sorted us a table in the restaurant about 20 minutes later. The food was as good as the service and I am happy to thoroughly recommend the Victoria Inn. Thanks to all the staff that made our visit most enjoyable.

As a group of Cornish folk/ family couples we like to go out at weekends for lunch, on Sunday. We have several options in the County and now a new find.Great Carvery I had pork as several others remarking on how good the meat was along with a fine selection of veg.Quick efficient drink service when we arrived and the same applied to the meal. Attentive staff lovely another one added to our eat out cycle.

Lovely little place for a decent breakfast pit stop! Great portion sizes for an acceptable price. We had the pancakes with maple and streaky bacon, a wonderful breakfast that only cost £6 with a full English only costing £12. Overall, I’d recommend it

Thank you Victoria for all that you did to make our Cousin's Ruby Wedding so special. Visiting from South Australia, they invited their cousins to lunch on Sunday at the Vic. Your staff were so helpful and the carvery meal delicious.

Victoria Inn Roche is ideally situated between both coasts and just off the A30. The staff are always welcoming and very helpful. First time we have tried ‘Dirty Dog’ but I know it won’t be the last time. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Awful service by awful staff!! Had a few pints in the beer garden & then wanted to head back to room at the Travelodge next door. Picked up a menu while we were at the pub in order to order room service later (as advertised on window on Travelodge) so we knew what we wanted. Got back to room, tried ordering via directions but didnt work. Had to go back into pub to order & were rudely told by 1 girl that that didn't have much on as they had a carvery (we literally got the menu an hour earlier!!!) the guy that served us said that we could order what we wanted & they would get the Travelodge staff to bring it up to us. We ordered from the menu, pizza, chips & a curry & told it would be half an hour. A member of staff from the Travelodge came up & told us our food was ready - we had to follow her back down to get it! We got it to our room & we weren't given any cutlery & the curry that supposedly came with chutney, poppadoms & naan didnt have any of these. Tried calling the number on the box , wasnt correct & so husband went down to pub & i tried calling again. Spoke to a bery rude girl who couldn't find order & then said my husband had sorted it & was on his way back. She hung up before I could say anything else! Hubby said she was rude in the pub & there still wasnt any chutney. For the price it was disgusting & so was the attitude of the staff! Honestly wouldn't recommend

We ate here last Friday, Four Adults and Two Welsh Springers. Prompt Service and good food. Enjoyable atmosphere and recommended for food at a reasonable price.

Booked a table here when staying at the Holiday Inn Express just up the road (its about 15-20 min walk).Good Covid awareness and tables distanced as evidenced by the stack of unused chairs and tables.Excellent Beer and the food was delicious. This quaint pub has a fairly basic 'pub grub' menu, BUT they are willing to be flexible if you order in advance. We ordered a fillet steak a day in advance (only rump on the pub menu) and the staff went out of their way to supply a lovely steak on the night. Thank you

We ate at the Victoria inn last Sunday (end of aug and a table of six) we live in Newquay and decided to venture slightly inland given everywhere is manic. We spoke to 11 different places (all of which were rude and didn’t really want our booking given they already had enough - standard in peak season customer service, or lack of). We called the Victoria inn and although they were very busy the lady on the phone went out of her way to get us in (which she did) Wonderful customer service and so friendly.. we were seated swiftly upon arrival and they really seem to have a handle on the covid situation.. we each had a carvery - absolutely fantastic and beautifully cooked and presented. Extra gravy was brought to our table and the staff genuinely looked as if they were enjoying their jobs! We all had a dessert - sticky toffee pudding is amazing, crumble was insane and the brownies a delight. Massive portions, clean and fantastic staff.. it’s a 10 from us! So good in fact we’ve just booked for today.. good to see the same level of commitment from the lady who answered the phone this week. Faultless and fab! Keep up the great work.

We come here every year, for the traditional cornish welcoming we get. Great team and lovely food. The early morning cleaner was particularly friendly, lovely lady. The older lady serving on carvery sunday not so much. I understand that the hospitality industry is stressed at the moment but she was rather snappy with me which I haven't experienced there before. Shame as it let my visit down a bit this year. Will not let that detract from the hospitality of the rest of the team, they were amazing for the 3 days we were there. Will still continue to return!

This is an understated pub however they do really good home cooked food. The homemade chicken curry with rice and apple crumble with custard was very tasty. Professional and friendly staff with good social distancing measures put in place. Highly recommend.

I haven’t been to the Vic in many, many years but I will certainly be returning again and again! The food was absolutely fantastic - such huge portions, but quality food throughout. I thoroughly recommend the Hunters Chicken and the Banoffee Pie - I’m still dreaming about the bbq sauce used! The presentation of the meals was elevated enough to feel special and look fantastic but still felt traditional pub grub.It’s certainly worth a visit and now feels very much like a destination, rather than just “a place to stop off by.” I can’t wait to come back!Louise was also wonderful and friendly - she knows exactly when your beer needs a top up! I was also so impressed with the social distancing and safety measures - most enjoyable eating experience I’ve had since lockdown was lifted.

An excellent meal was had by all. Quality food, super portions and brilliant atmosphere. Staff were amazing and although very busy were extremely happy and couldn’t do enough for you. The place was very popular so if you want to visit this hidden gem you had better book - would highly recommend (especially the banoffe pie)
