Lovely food but filled with drunk men later in the evening, so maybe go for lunch if you get overstimulated easily. There are no vegan options on the menu but you can ask for a vegan version of a dish.

Popped in with a friend while visiting Windsor on Tuesday evening. It was recommended by the barman at the Carpenters Arms. Good food, nice atmosphere and very friendly attentive staff. Would definitely recommend.

The service was a bit blah. The waiter was not very clear and kept forgetting what we had asked for, however we did get the food we ordered. The food itself was fine, especially the peshwari naan, however the tandoori chicken was not all that flavoursome as it should have been. The final bill was not written in any legible sense, and was slightly inaccurate. Restaurant looked clean and was busy, which is a good sign. I do think there are better restaurants with similar cuisine in Windsor but this was fine for what we required and we fancied a change. Would probably return for a second run.

This is our favourite restaurant in Windsor. Just a short walk from the town centre it’s a hidden gem! The food is excellent as is the service.

I don't know what these other people on about giving bad reviews I think they went to the wrong restaurant,I went to viceroy and food was banging best ever indo-bangladeshi food I love the satkora lamb with keema rice.all the waiters are very polite and welcoming I liked the waiter called iqbal he was the best and only person who was working very hard and looked after all the customers overall 10/10 don't believe all the bad reviews they don't know anything about viceroys food I definitely recommend viceroy of windsor I will be going back there this Saturday see you soon viceroy And thank you for your hospitality.

Still my favourite all time UK Indian food, Bangladeshi restaurant. Amazing chef's and brilliant friendly staff, with Iqbal always making sure everything was good for us. Great atmosphere, make sure to pre book, as sometimes gets full. The original bank safe in the cellar , near toilets, is a wonder to view. I have met business contacts in Australia and the USA, who rave over having visited. Quite a short safe walk from the Castle tourist area..

After entering this establishment,I was very impressed with the overall interior.My takeaway order was quickly taken,by a well presented,well spoken member of staff.The food was 1st class .Probably one of the nicest Indian meals I’ve ever had .

Ok food but not very authentic, had better Indians locally. Service was rushed but otherwise it was ok....the restaurant is so noisy you can hardly hear the person next to you....some may call it buzzy but it's too noisy to have a conversation. 3rd time I've been here and only because it was the group consensus.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, as Indian food lovers, we weren’t disappointed. Presented with some wonderful condiments and poppadoms to start, We had a feast of Lamb Rogan, Chicken Jhall Freize, Dal Sambal, garlic Naan, pilau rice. Service was great, food served fast and we highly recommend. With a couple of gin and tonics, we spent £60 for two people. Sorry for our half eaten photo, we really wanted to give a great review after the first mouthful 🥰

Probably the best Indian food we have tested in well decorated surroundings. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. Owner was on hand and continually checking the service and satisfaction of his customers. Staff were very attentive without being overpowering. On a visit to Windsor we visited The Viceroy after it was recommended and it didn't disappoint. This restaurant has served the residents for many years which is a recommendation in itself. Although now living in the North East of England we are already planning a return visit. Was lovely to catch up with my friend Faz while we were visiting. I am completely bewildered by the 1 star reviews I have read and do wonder if these people were actually in this restaurant? I can only suggest they stick to Macdonalds drive thru !!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and true to their word, the food was excellent. The service was good, especially from Siddik and Moin. Highly recommend trying this restaurant if you are in Windsor.

The food was okay, Nothing special. The portion size was tiny, a kids size portion I'd say.. After spending nearly £150 for 4 adults. Will not be returning here.

We visited here on Sunday night, the service was impeccable, we didn't have to wait for our food or drinks, the food was delicious really fresh, my only comment would be was my husband had Dansak and everywhere else it has pineapple in which apparently helps with the heat. That's all, I'm only sorry it's not my local curry house. Thank you for the great service and fresh food.

Viceroy is the old restaurant in windsor. There are great food quality. My favourite waiter is Abu bakkar siddik. He is helpful, good quaility and service is very well.

THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL . THE STAFF ARE EFFICIENT AND ATTENTIVE. WE WERE SERVED BY SIDDIK WHO LOOKED AFTER US VERY WELL. THE RESTAURANT IS LOCATED IN A QUIET AREA OF WINDSOR OUTSIDE THE BUSY CENTRE OF WINDSOR.

Our experience was flawless, from the food to the ambiance. Mr. Moin, our server, was exceptionally kind and attentive. We ordered Chicken Biryani and Shatkora Chicken with butter naan. The food was delicious, and the Shatkora Chicken, recommended by Mr. Moin based on our preferences, had a delightful lemon flavor. Indian music of 90s added to our lovely experience. We look forward to returning and trying more items from the menu.

Windsor has many restaurants Viceroy of Windsor is one of them. It 's special for food quality, and service , environment. My favourite dish is Lam Bireaney I took couple of days ago. It was very delicious and testy and some dishes. All staff is very friendly ,hardworker, and understanding. The most important think is environment is very comfortable .I think ,Viceroy of windsor is the best restaurant in the Windsor.

I came in on Friday wit a big group and I would like to say I have never seen a very good and polite waiter ever he understood everything wot we wanted and he's service was excellent except for one of the waiter who was quite rude the big guy with beard he can't even speak properly apart from that we had a great time thanks to iqbal he served all the drinks we ask him for and he's recommendations were excellent I hope he gets paid well he is a very hard worker my friend fancies him but she was to shy to ask him out but we will be coming back soon with a big group hope to see you again iqbal thank you for everything we enjoyed the night even the other waiter who is still learning from iqbal he was good aswell see you again in future

One of the worst restaurant I have ever visited. As the name suggest its not an Indian restaurant. The taste is not even close to Indian food. The food was literally floating in oil. Not recommended

Living super close to this restaurant I visited it with friends. The food was not very good but what disappointed me the most was the unfriendly service. No care for the customers and we ( only women) felt looked at in a very unsettling way. Never again.

I went there tonight with 3other friends and enjoyed the food and it was excellent the service brilliant I'd like to see that waiter called iqbal he is very good and fast at wot he does,I very much liked his service except for the fat waiter with beard there is a language barrier he doesn't even know how to talk he was quite rude plus his breath stunk other than that everything was excellent

Food was very good and service was fast , but chicken shumock was very sweet not the authentic Indian version. Overall good place to eat and good dishes , only thing I didn’t like was they add a mandatory service charge of 6-8% of your total bill and when asked the owner said I am giving hot napkins and mint chocolate or free .

So so delicious. They accommodated us despite not having a booking on a busy evening. Chicken dansak, Lamb Biryani both to die for. Super delicious, very fresh. My partner said the peshwari naan was the best he’s ever had. Attentive service too. I’m baffled by some of the previous reviews as this was a 10/10 experience for us.

One of the best Indian Restaurant in Windsor! Good food, they customize for your taste, friendly staff and good ambience! Tried Most vegetarian dishes and they are pretty good, would definitely recommend if you are on your visit to Windsor and looking for good Indian option. Would definitely call out Mr. Moin from the staff - Friendly and really cares for the customer's taste. Kudos to him. Suggestion to the restaurant: May be add some more Chat Options in the veg starters. I am sure it will sell like hot cakes as people love chaats!

Lunch for four on a Wednesday so it was fairly quiet. The quality of all dishes were excellent and very generous. You could see that each main curry dish was prepared with fresh ingredients. The service was also great with a young, very keen guy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Came here for a works Xmas party lovely atmosphere, food was nice waiters sidick and Riz were incredible always smiling and happy to get us what we needed.

The food was excellent and not one complaint from our party of 8. This was a very busy restaurant but we had booked in advance, having said that the staff have the service very well organised. I would highly recommend it.

We were recommended this fine establishment by people in the area whilst looking for a location for a works meal in centre of our 'patch'. Our meal was amazing and delicious. The restaurant itself was immaculate and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Would highly recommend and return again in the future.

Food is amazing best Indian restaurant around in my opinion Tandoori Mixed Grill was the tastiest and the most generous portion of Tandoori Chicken I have ever had!

I visited last night for a curry, this place is always busy, which should tell you how good it is. I had the Bombay fish bhuna, which was delicious.

Das Essen ist in Ordnung. Der Service ist dem hohen Preis nicht angemessen. Ich bekam das falsche Essen (Änderung war nicht möglich, der Kellner bestand darauf, dass ich das bestellt hätte, obwohl ich Vegetarier bin und er tat so als hätte ich Huhn bestellt) Die Mangolassi waren zu süß.

Always a good bet for a traditional curry in Windsor. Food excellent, mains took a little while but didn't need to chase. Forgot one dish that we had to ask to be removed from the bill. Toilets a must see :-)

We went to the place as per the reviews were good but as we entered the place the staff was very rude as we asked different table the staff seem not interested in the service we asked for chilli paneer and he said that we don’t serve starters but after few I saw starters been served on other table the guy was very rude and literally servicing like throwing the cutlery on the table not recommended at all .

Fantastic restaurant. Visited as a group of four by recommendation as a popular place with locals in the Windsor and Eton area. The serving staff were polite and attentive, and the food exemplary. We were impressed to find that pretty much all of the dishes can be made vegetarian on request for a member of our group. I highly recommend the Shatkora Lamb and Shukran Chicken, both of which were recommended by the serving staff, with the chicken being a perfect balance of creamy and spicy with a very slight sweetness. The onion bhajis were the best I've ever had with a great texture and flavour, and came with accompaniments for a perfect starter or as part of the main mea). The chutneys and pickles that came with the poppadoms were fresh and made in-house, and moreish. The naans were well made and the perfect density. Definitely worth a visit if you like Indo-Banglo cuisine and you are in the area.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Unfortunately, our experience was not good at all. The food was mediocre at best, the service seemed friendly at first but we were told fairly rudely to leave at 2 pm (TWICE) even though we were not finished, since the restaurant would close at 2 pm. if you close at 2 PM, why are you taking orders till 1.20 pm? and do you realise how rude it is to throw guests out of your establishment? You should very clearly state that it is your policy to push customers out at 2 pm! Absolutely ridiculous! You are charging a hefty amount for lackluster food, at least let people eat in peace! Weird that there were no other customers at lunchtime so there should not have been any issues but the staff seemed more interested to have the place to themselves to enjoy and have a good time than to serve customers. Definitely would NOT VISIT again.

I and a large group of friends had dinner here. I had vegetarian platter for starters which was great. I had lamb biryani as main course. The lamb was very good. The trice was lovely. The vegetable curry that I d not normally eat had tasty vegetables in it had a vegetable side, the vegetables were fresh not tinned.I was amazed they had alcohol cobra which I rarely available

Another very enjoyable evening spent here with friends and family. Food as always was exceptional. We enjoyed masala popadoms KP shashlick chicken jalfrezi with lots of side dishes. Their house wine is very good along with beer. The service is really the best. All staff so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great to have this eatery on our doorstep. The Viceroy has been my go-to place for many years in Windsor. It is an excellent restaurant, with delicious food, a wonderful ambience and attentive service. I come here a lot and the staff are all incredible, in particular Wasib who is always very welcoming and looks after us very well.

A wonderful Windsor institution, the Viceroy serves up delicious food with an excellent ambience and superb service. Whilst all the staff are brilliant, Wasib stands out as very friendly and welcoming and always does a great job! Keep it up guys!
