Saffron in Windsor and Maidenhead

We ordered a takeaway and it was delicious. We ordered many dishes and can’t fault any of them. All had lovely flavours. Service was good too

The tikka starters were great and the mains were pretty good compared to a lot of other places. The Nan was really fresh but a bit too sweet for my liking. Service was a bit slow and the waiter could have had a bit more of a personality. The food was freshly prepared so the time it came out was reasonable. The one thing that ruined the feel of the restaurant and cheapened the decor were the tacky LED lighting that made the place feel more like a nightclub than a classy restaurant. If it wasn’t for the offer I would say that the individual prices for the curries were quite high. Saying all of this, I would definitely come back on their banquet night to try some other dishes.

Food were great, unfortunately disappointed with the masala tea. The masala tea wasn't authentic, they use masala tea bags. Anyway, it was our fault that didn't clarify when ordering.

Read mixed reviews about this place so was worried about coming. But was very happy with the lamb madras and the chicken Adraki was superb. Will definitely be coming back.

Starters were very good and all the dishes we had came out hot and tasty. The staff were friendly and efficient.

I think this place is unreal, it's our second visit here. We go during the Wentworth pga weekend. The service is great and the food even better. See you next year 10/10.

Well worth a visit, delicious food, the menu was a little different which made a nice change, we were really well looked after and will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends.

Went there on the off chance while visiting our brother in Windsor. We were pleasantly surprised with the restaurant, the service, the welcoming and friendliness of the staff. The food was really great, we had a 50% offer (the fork festival), it was very good. Definitely will be back and recommend this restaurant when visiting Windsor. They deserve a thumb up!

Cucina autentica Indiana, leggermente meno piccante che in India, per i palati europei è ben bilanciata. Nell'unica giornata calda di questa estate inglese, un po' più di aria condizionata sarebbe stata gradita. Con the fork prezzi veramente convenienti.

Only me and my husband in the restaurant (as England were playing) but this didn't affect the service, ambience or the quality of food. Everything was fantastic and we will definitely recommend and be back again.

The food was disgusting no taste at all saw it has a good review on just eat so ordered it but the food was not up to the taste no Indian taste at all do not recommend this place at all with no chance.

Excellent Salmon starter and the Hyderabad Biriani was very unusual in that it was very moist and almost curry like, which was delicious. The Chappati was tasty too. Coconut chocolate with the Bill was a nice touch.

This was a return visit, once again the food and service was excellent

The staff were good - very pleasant. We did not enjoy the quality of the food. They were meant to serve clams but they didn’t! The chicken tikka had too much red food colouring and a huge amount of sugar- we could not eat it. The best thing about the dinner was the coffee and mint chocolate at the end. We will NOT be going back there!

Absolutely love the food here, have tried something different each time we come and it never disappoints. So much choice. The king prawn dishes are the best I've had, very filling a nice amount of prawns. This restaurant is 25 mins drive for us but so worth the drive, already chosen what I'm having next time :-)

About food. I am a Sous Chef. And I am from India. I know how chicken 65 is and lamb briyani. I never suggest anyone to buy food from this Restaurant. Chicken 65 smells something I don’t know might be chef added different sauce or chicken is spoiled. It smells so bad. They gave an Onion bhaji as complimentary thats good. But, rather Onion bhaji everything worthless. I agree with English people taste but they want mild or medium not spoiled chicken. Please, I hope Restaurant must do lot of chng.

Poor quality of food, not enough chicken, prawns were microscope, we will never order them again

We payed for 4 people Takeaway to be delivered.I asked for the free Onion barges as written on the Takeaway Menu.only three were delivered,& we were charged for them.my mothers Chicken korma had hardly any Chicken in it.My chicken Vindaloo was also light on chicken.My Father's Prawn Curry had the smallest prawns available & not enough.on top of everything it was my Birthday treat,I will never be ordering from Saffron again,It's over priced & very poor quality.Very very disappointed.

Food was delivered on time. Onion Bhajis were good, as were both curries. Poppadums were’nt good though they were burnt and didn’t taste right.

This not a true Indian restaurant. Food was terrible service was OK and the owner was just rude to his only customer sthat evening (me and the family). Don't waste your time and money....oh also they doing really bad and offering 50% off voucher codes online to compensate the high prices! The food had very small portions and high prices as well as very plain, no spices, no tangyness, no kick to being Indian food. The curry dishes wasn't fresh and was heated up to be served out. The grill food was fresh but not upto standard. The owner is charging nearly £20 for a mixed grill for 1 piece chicken, 1 kebab stick, 1 little pawn fish and 4 small chicken pieces. Most Indian restaurants charge £20-£25 for the same but with 2x chicken legs, 2 x kebab sticks, 4x chicken pieces, 4 x fish pieces, 2 xlamb chops. The main dishes was very sweet like they put sugar in the curry. The restaurant was empty we was the only four people in the restaurant, so waiters kept asking for orders and drinks every 2/5 minutes. The starters took nearly 45mins and mains took 5 minutes to come out. The house white wine is a old bottle of wine and is undrinkable. We had to ask them to take the wine away it must of gone bad. As being the only customers in this restaurant. I would expect the owner to be more polite to the customers he has, unfortunately he was rude. On arrival he was standing in the door way smoking and spent most of the night in the door way smoking. The way he spoke to us wasn't polite or engaging with customers.

The best Indian food I’ve had in a long time . The Shatkora with king prawn was delicious, with quite a hit of heat/citrus. Naan bread was fabulous, puffed up in parts and really tasty - freshly made. Definitely coming back!

Chosen on recommendation from a colleague. And so glad we did. Absolutely delicious! Tandoori Chicken was sublime as was the peshwari naan. Was told the korma was 'tender' best they'd had. Order came with a menu. We will definitely be using you again! Thank you 😊

Delivery driver went to Alma Road in Windsor instead of Eton Wick, and then argued with me about where I lived. I told the driver he should of checked the postcode, and not gone from the street name. The driver replied to me saying he never checks the postcode because he knows the local area well enough...

Honestly, the worst food I have ever had. Unnecessary and extremely excessive use of SUGAR/SWEETNER. Not recommended.

Delightful cosy restaurant. Service was excellent. Table layout is decent giving plenty space. More Persian than Indian in taste. Unfortunately can't give higher rating for the food as every dish had plenty of sugar in including the naan and Raith ( yogurt). The Bombay Aloo was not authentic and lacked taste due to the huge chunks of potatoes rather than smaller grilled pieces. The Daal also lacked taste. The tandoori chicken also contained a thick coating of sugar. Wouldn't recommend simply due to the level of sugar in all dishes that would certainly effect anyone on a reasonable health conscious diet, diabetes or anyone who doesn't like sugar in savoury.

I was unable to enjoy the food I had ordered as it arrived very late and was cold. Additionally, items were missing from my order. Despite booking in advance, it did not help. I missed out on the chance to eat Indian food.

I would definitely order from Saffron again - the food was hot, very flavoursome and on time. No complaints from the 3 of us!

Always a friendly and warm welcome when we come here. The food is authentic and very tasty, but not at all oily.

We had the non vegetarian thalli, five dishes, rice and naan each which was more enough. The food was really very good and the service was perfectly balanced.

So I enjoyed my visit to saffron that much that I will be definitely come again I like a good curry and I was not disappointed. Packed with loads of flavour and I can we can both agree that it's up there with our top 10 curries we have had p.s the atmosphere is low cause it was a Thursday and quite early also I recommend the king cobra as a drink never had it before but really enjoyed it.

We liked the look of this menu so decided to try out the restaurant. It is a short walk from the high street and easy to find. Although lacking a little in atmosphere (but it was quite early on a Wednesday evening) the food was delicious. A good range of dishes to choose from, including some tempting chef’s specials and signature dishes. We both really enjoyed our meal. Would definitely use as a takeaway. I’d like to see what the atmosphere is like at a busier time.

I discovered this gem of a restaurant a few months ago and enjoyed the most flavorsome Indian food . Have also orders takeaway which arrive piping hot, taste amazing but also are packaged with care. No leaky sauces at the bottom of the bag. Tonight we celebrated a dear friend's birthday and the staff and owner could not of been more helpful. They went out of their way to help us with setting up balloons etc and the atmosphere was just perfect. From a mixture of fabulous starters, I had 3 huge onions bhajis packed with flavour to the delightfully spiced Prawn puri and lamb tikka starters. Quite often the starters can be the star of the meal but our main courses were as tasty and expertly spiced as our starters. Tucked away in the non tourist part of windsor this wonderful restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh but it felt like tomato curry, There was hardly any lamb and big chunks of tomato. The taste was very average too. Not worth the money!

Some of the food was ok, onion bhajis tasted like powder as if not been cooked long enough and the chips are not nice at all, the curry was ok, nan bread was nice.

We recently visited Saffron for the first time having live in Windsor for 23 years. It did not disappoint. The ambiance was welcoming and charming. The service was good and efficient. The food was pretty good including the portions. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable and 100% worth it. Highly recommend Saffron and we will be back.

Usually the delivery from Saffron is great, but not tonight. My Dahl had spilt over a lot of the order and the poppadum was broken in to pieces and all the food was tepid.

Superb Indian cuisine and great service. My wife and I have been to the Windsor racecourse on a Monday evening and arrived quite late to Saffron but this was no bother to team and the staff were very accommodating. Great food from the poppadoms and dips to the curries and sides. Highly recommended.

Love this place the food is so tasty

We went here for my birthday and had a fabulously delicious meal. The portions were very good and the price was good as well. The service was great and over it was a nice restaurant to eat at.

I don't enjoy Indian food but it was a birthday party I was invited to. My expectations were not high. I ordered a prawn chef special. Surprise!! Not the oily mess I was waiting for, it was a delicious dish. I honestly couldn't fault it, and I tried. The service was excellent and I will actually eat there again.

We had naga chicken in the restaurant. Of all the Indian restaurants in and around Windsor, they do naga chicken the best. We had avoided them because of the ambiance for long, and went there with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised.

Food quality was very good. Portions were very small unfortunately, for the price and my drink was incorrect. But overall the quality was very good and one of the best in Slough. Just a shame about portion size. Food was also 45 mins late

I have ordered 2 things tandoori mix grill and chicken 65 … tandoori mix grill was fine . But chicken 65 was not good … while we eat 65 we taste like smoke

Made two recent visits and on both occasions the food was good with polite staff. I would like to have given 5 stars but on my first visit my beer was not cold until I mentioned this and I then received cold ones. On my second visit I asked for them to ensure the beer was cold and I was not disappointed, until they opened a bottle of warm beer. When I mentioned this, I was told they had no more cold ones. I would like to go back one day, once I get over the trauma!
