What a fantastic find! We were looking for a restaurant that did masala dosa and were thrilled to find it on the menu. Even the fact its an unlicensed restaurant didn't deter us they havexa range of lovely mocktails. The dishes were different to any other Indian all freshly cooked and utterly delicious. The service was faultless too. We are looking forward to making this our new favourite restaurant and working our way through the amazing menu.

Sunday lunch: veg and non-veg thali and a mango lassi and it was all exceptional. Delicious food, super prices and lovely, friendly waiting staff. Can’t wait to come back, and can’t wait to explore their great-looking menu. Highly, highly recommended.

Stopped here on a Tuesday evening for some dinner because we were too lazy to cook, and we were really pleasantly surprised by the menu, which was wide-ranging and overlapped with Sri Lankan food we've had before. I had the Chicken Kothu dish, for example, which I've only found before in Sri Lankan restaurants. It was really tasty, and I ordered with a spiced cabbage side dish, which was unusual but also brought a good balance! Lentil starter was delicious, and my partner had the mango fish curry which was also really good, and unusual! Not your usual kormas and bhunas, and not at all greasy or heavy – this is authentic and really freshly made. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and the waiters were great, and we'll definitely be back. We've been to a few Indian restaurants in and around town, some of which were highly recommended and very expensive, but this was the best we've found.

Food is tasty but the restaurant is run down and a bit dirty. The waiting staff, although helpful, were not very attentive and left us without drinks for at least 1 hour. We ordered a starter, which came nearly an hour later and then I asked her where our drinks were. She brought them up when we nearly finished our starter and my partner was unable to finish it due to having no drink to wash it down with. In this hot weather we really needed our drinks. Then , if this wasn’t bad enough, one item from our mains order was missing. When they eventually brought it over, the rest of the dishes were stone cold. Although they apologised, no one offered a free drink or a reduction of the bill. Very poor customer service. The waitresses kept walking out and only was was serving, hence the slow service. The one with the scarf should be sacked as she hardly worked. She just smirked and kept walking out of the restaurant! Bizarre!!

Every dish I have tasted is so good! One of a very few number of Indian restaurant who serve beef! Their Beef biryani is a triumph as is their Kottayam Egg Curry!

In the centre of Huddersfield, a decent South Indian restaurant. Although the interior design is quite simple and antiquated, the masala dosa was delicious and crispy. One of the best I have tried recently was Gobi Manchurian. Unlike most curry restaurants that serve similar-tasting food, this one had distinct flavors in every dish.

A fantastic find. Very friendly staff who have great pride in their restaurant. The young lady serving us was helpful and assisted with options and ideas based on our tastes, ingredient preferences etc We had a mixed starter which tasted amazing, fresh and a decent portion all well presented. The mains were again well presented and tasty. I had (36) Lamb Purattiyathu - tender lamb cubes with a fantastic purattha Missus has a sea bass curry and said it was great. Alcohol free but great selection of drinks and Mocktails with South Indian twist. Would definitely go again. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Fresh, tasty ingredients.

I was visiting a friend and she took me. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food, thoughtfully put together and perfectly flavoured. The staff were also lovely however the flavours of the food are still with me today.

What a little gem!! Can’t believe we have only just discovered this place. The dosas and butter chicken are the best we have had and the staff are so lovely.

We actually only went because the Chinese next door was shut; how lucky were w. The food is delicious, nice to see a different Indian menu; service is lovely and prices very reasonable. It isn’t licensed not sure if you can take alcohol in

Friendly staff, freshly cooked food, with fresh ingredients- obvious when you taste the food. Reasonably priced and a varied choice. Definitely will return!

Excellent Indian with interesting menu. Great for vegetarians loads of options . Good value and friendly service. We had a prawn curry and masala dosas for mains, both were freshly cooked and lovely. Bill for 2 with starters , mains and 2 soft drinks came to £44 which was great value for the quality of food. They have interesting lunch specials that we want to go back and try. The downstairs restaurant is small but they have tables upstairs.

Chose this restaurant as it is near my hotel, got very lucky! Really lovely food and drink, plenty for vegetarians, and reasonably priced. Porata particularly nice.

We wanted to try a less traditional takeaway, so opted for an authentic Keralan restaurant. Oh my word! This was such a good experience, even though we were ordering in! The food was superb, including the Malabar chicken biryani, the butter chicken, lamb Malabar and the beautifully spiced fish Moilee. I have to give a special shout out to the amazing coconut chutney, which I could eat by the bucket load! Customer service was great, as I raised a query early on in the day by web chat and was answered very quickly. I will definitely order from Veppura again, and hopefully I will also have the chance to visit the restaurant!

Best keralan south Indian food in Huddersfield. Called 29th August had onam sadhya only served for 3days a year. Food on banana leaf wonderful festival food. Food cooked fresh to your order not frozen. 3 times we have been now it has become our favourite authentic Indian. Don't miss out.

Absolutely delicious freshly cooked food! Very friendly and polite staff. Reasonably priced food. We will definitely return if we have chance before we leave (on a weekend break).

Absolutely scrumptious freshly cooked proper Indian veg and non veg food. Excellent service and reasonably priced. Run by a family who originate from Cochin area. I am from India too and I cannot rate is highly enough. There is on street parking but larger car parks are in walking distance too. They are open at lunch time and evenings. I know where to go for Indian stuff in Huddersfield that mainly has Pakistani and Bangladeshi eateries. I am sure you won’t regret it.

Authentic South Indian food and the only place that you will find it in Huddersfield. Friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices. Excellent masala dosa. This was my fourth visit and the food has been very good every time. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful authentic keralan food just called in on the off chance on the way to the theatre. Friendly staff and good service. Will definitely be returning.

So good to have a good authentic South Indian in Huddersfield! I really enjoyed everything we had but the fish curries were my favourite. The dosa was lovely and crispy and well made. I have lived and worked in Southern India so can vouch for the authenticity of taste… Delicious and will return soon!
