The perfect venue with amazing staff!

Great venue and the food is good. Lovely staff

I went for a private party and I didn't have food. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff were really welcoming.

This is the old business profile, new owners since 2022.

Great friendly wine bar, really enjoyed the evening.

We booked a 21st for 60 people with ourselves providing the food,DJ and paid for an extended license. We went to set up at 4 pm as arranged no one was there after multiple calls we eventually gained access at around 5 pm .The venue looked great but then the wheels started to fall off. First a DJ turned up who we had to inform was not required, then it became very apparent that there was only 1 poor barman for 60 people, who I have to say he did remarkably well and was good humoured throughout but who had himself been informed that there were only 20 people at the party and that a DJ was required. Obviously people were waiting an inordinate amount of time to be served and in the end we had to provide help behind the bar to support the beleaguered barman with the birthday girls grandfather doing the glass washing and myself collecting the glasses. Then to top it all last orders were called at 12 even though we had paid for an extended license yet another fact the poor barman had not been informed about. So in summary are very nice venue ruined by utter incompetence or indifference I can work out which is the worst.

Had a party there got verbally and physically assaulted by the bar staff, so be very careful what you say to them because they can suddenly change. They are also allegedly watering down the drinks, so be careful what you ask for. Also Police have been called twice in a few weeks.

Great night, (Friday 3rd Nov) will definitely return. Didn't eat so can not comment, but had a really good night! drinks were reasonable, staff really friendly, great little dance floor, nice to see someone putting on different events rather then same old thing every week.

Great venue for a party. We had our daughter’s 21st Birthday party and the evening was a great success. Food, drink and ambiance were all fantastic. The staff of Leena, Bryn and John were incredible. Thanks to you all.

Won't be eating again. But will keep Socialising.

Very friendly welcome. Lovely and cosy interior with a roaring fire. Lots of seating areas. Event nights being advertised, that will be worth a visit. Fantastic outside space that will be lovely in the warmer weather.

We've been going to this wonderful bar for a while now, usually for a quick drink, but it's Thursdays that have become special because it's their Tapas night. Since coming back from a holiday to Spain we were looking for a Tapas place and thankfully we didn't have to look far in Banbury. I have to stay it's one of the best we've ever tasted and that's including bars in Spain. Really reasonably priced (3 dishes for £10) and there is a very good selection. The best part is that all the dishes are delicious and taste home-made. The delightful bonus is that all the staff are very friendly and super attentive, they make you feel very welcome. One of the bar staff is a very talented cocktail mixologist, who can do some superb drinks. The location is just past the famous and iconic Banbury Cross on the left up the hill. You won't regret it!

First time I have visited V lounge I was impressed when I first walked in. Lovely bar area which then gave me high expectations. No one took us to our table we just found our table as it was the only one dressed up. Waitress came out appeared friendly and asked if we were ready for starters. They came and 2 of the dishes were cold she said sorry and heated them up. Then 3 of the mains came and the rest of the food around 10 Minutes later. There were no other tables so don’t understand why it was so slow. The food was standard but not great. The deserts came after. The waitress seemed to be running about like there was a war but there was only us so not sure how they would cope with more than one table. But the end of the night got worse. I asked for the bill 10 minutes later it arrived. The waitress got her coat on and left no mention of what we do to pay so eventually I got up and took bill to the bar where we were met with a rude bar man who accused of having 56 pound left to pay I pointed to the cash that was sat on the bar the whole time in which I had told him about just 2 mins earlier. He never said sorry he just said well you owe 5,50 In which who knows how but paid as wanted to leave as quickly as possible from a poor experience!

Very quiet for a Saturday night, bar was very friendly and welcoming, with excellent background music. We tried to go again on Sunday but it closes early.

Absolutely loved thus place very modern, loads of wine choices. Lee is such a lovely man and very knowledgeable on his wines.

We was disappointed that this bar wasn't open on a sunday evening, the night we went to the indian next door was a lovely sunny pleasant night, so it been open would have been nice!

Food and service excellent whether you are eating in or taking out. Restaurant tastefully decorated, an overall great eating place.

After going to the V Lounge on a few occasions, my husband decided to take his family who had not been here before for a meal. After calling the mobile numbers which was from their website, the man took our name and happily advised table was booked for 7.30pm. Upon arriving the following evening we went to the bar and told the 2 ladies that we had a table for 5 booked for 7.30pm, they both looked at each other and said "Sorry but the chef is off ill".... and actually they had no bookings for tonight.... After a number of "SORRIES" and a lot of venting of our anger and frustration we left before we said anymore.😡😡😡 This did put a dampener on our evening especially as it was the 1st visit for 3 of our party to the V Lounge. But we decided to pop into another local pub in town which accommodated us without a booking and had a lovely meal. I really think that V Lounge needs to sort out its booking system and if this was correct and the chef was off sick then start by taking a phone number so that you can at least have the courtesy of calling your clients back to advise, or you may find that this is another establishment that will be closing as I wonder how many other people this may of happened too that night....

I ordered what looked to be a nice dish. Pork cutlet with bubble and squeak. Surely it's a basic. You don't serve pork 'pink'. Sent it back. Came back looking a little better but when I cut into the thickest part, it was still still 'wobbly'....horrid. This, unlike a steak, is not a choice of how you like it cooked...it's a health hazard. Come on!!! I asked for the bill and it seemed I was still expected to pay the full price for food I had not (could not) eaten. I made a suggestion as to how much the meal was worth and it was accepted. If I'd ordered something else i might have been happy. But 'pink' pork? A rookie mistake.... A pity. Nice surroundings and very professional server.

I've been in this restaurant quite a lot for drinks only in the pleasant courtyard and decided to try the food which I had heard good things about. The bar area was very busy with only 1 member of staff so it took a little longer to get served than normal but was fine when the large group left. The menu is fairly small but reasonably priced. The food was excellent and was impressed with the size of the tapas. All our group had an excellent meal and enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly waitress. Look forward to our next visit.

Food is pretty poor. I had Tapas: chicken spring rolls (nice), camembert and toast (cold with rock hard bread), fried halloumi (nice but cold) and vegetable tempura (incinerated bits of veg without any kind of batter). The other half had meat balls and pasta; it arrived 15 minutes later and the sauce was quite bland. Shame really, because the venue is lovely and the young lady behind the bar was absolutely lovely.

Had a Sunday roast with family recently, (new the menu I believe) and it is delicious! Easily the best in town. The beef was beautifully cooked, and a lovely selection of accompaniments. Only £7.50, you’d expect it to be so much more for the quality, but not complaining! Service a little slow at times, but think that was just down to new staff. Our regular now for a decent Sunday lunch.

We were a party of 11 celebrating my Mum’s 71st birthday. We had asked before going if we could have the Tapas menu as they only usually do roasts on a Sunday but they had said it would be fine. They forgot a few dishes so had to be done last, however, when one of the dishes came out, it was still frozen in the middle (a duck dish). When we told them of this they took it back into the kitchen but it never came back. As a result we asked them to knock one of the tapas dishes off the bill as we never received it. Firstly, not only did they not apologise for serving frozen food but the chef then made out it was our fault for asking for the tapas menu!! He said ‘well I wasn’t set up for tapas but I did it anyway’. If they couldn’t do, they should have told us, but it is not the customers fault the chef served a dish still frozen! We really didn’t make a fuss or even complain about the wait and did not deserve to be spoken so rudely. Not only that, but he then started saying loudly ‘did they leave a tip on the table...no, there’s no tip on the table’. In actual fact, we were going to sort that at the till when paying the bill but after being spoken to like that we decided not to leave it. We had rude service the previous year but had decided to give it another go. This time however, it was a whole other level or rudeness and I will never go there again!

Gorgeous casual dining restaurant with a great selection of Tapas and quality main dishes. Had the Halloumi starter and the Halibut main course it was gorgeous. Great service and beer as well. 8/10 I will be back

It's not cheap but it is good quality cuisine.Nice surroundings.Have to get in early though to nab a comfy seat in the bar.Gardens are beautiful in the summer.

We had exclusive use of the restaurant for 5 hours. They were very accomodating and made the party easy! We decided on a tapas buffet, which was excellent. Dom, the chef, was particularly helpful and pulled out all the stops to make the day special. I would definitely recommend!

We have been here a few times before and it's been okay. But this time it was poor. The menu is not that large but they had run out of pork and there was not enough sirloin steak for our party. Two of us order the fondant based dessert which turned out to be a stodgy pudding. The chef insisted it was fondant which it was not. To finish off a rubbish evening the coffee machine was broken so no drinks were available. To make this more annoying we had taken a friend on the basis that we would have an enjoyable evening which turned out to be a great embarrassment for all of us. We did get a reasonable discount but I would much have preferred to pay the full amount and have a good meal.

Popped in for a business lunch on a day when the burger were on offer 2-4-1. We both had the chicken burgers and they were delicious. Crispy coated chicken in a burger with tasty crisp fries. Lovely.

Private party for 25. Excellent service from planning to the night. Fabulous fresh ingredient hot food buffet. Staff helpfull and efficient. Reasonable food prices. Enjoyed by all guests. Thank you, V Lounge.

Staying in a guesthouse down the road, we walked down for some dinner in the town.

Came here for my girlfriend and her sisters birthday the bar at the front had a nice cosy feel with a log fire nice and chilled while you wait to be seated. We had tapas to share which was more than enough for everyone I also had the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection really tasty food at a decent price. Would definitely recommend and will be returning

Had a lovely meal with my husband and children yesterday. We received a warm friendly welcome. Good choices on the menu. We didn't have to wait long for the food, which is a plus when you have kids.The service was excellent and the setting is clean.

I have been here a few times when we stay in Banbury to visit family. Every time we go to the v lounge the atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming, staff are polite and the food has always been good.

We ate here last night, on a friends recommendation, we had a very nice meal that was reasonably priced and we will definitely eat here again.

Great garden lovely food, but expensive drink if that it what you are visiting for

The restaurant itself looks very nice. We were seated promptly and there's an interesting selection of drinks from circo to desperadoes. The staff were all friendly if a little unorganised.

Excellent meal as usual - opted for 241 on their burger meals available Wednesdays - not just any burger - good quality - cooked to perfection with salad and chunky chips

We had a burger meal here and I must say it was very dry. The bar is nice a little more pricey than other places. Does have a very nice outside area.

Enjoyed a family meal , 5 adults chose the Sunday roast and 1 a steak and the kids had the children`s menu all freshly cooked with generous portions, pleasant surroundings and friendly staff.

A party of 12 of us visited on a Saturday night for a friends birthday dinner. Our order was taken promptly, the majority of us ordered tapas and a couple of us had steaks.

Attended as part of a table booked for 12 people for a birthday meal. Waited 2 hours for the food and when it arrived several parts of the order where wrong/under cooked.

we were a party of 10 ladies booked fof dinner at 7.30 on 30.6.17 i have only complementary remarks to make about v lounge from the welcome on arrival to the attention to the food and drink orders throughout the evening. dinner was excellent. all dishes came out hot and together.portions were generous.personal dietary requests were catered to.aptart from the excellent food, the reason i will visit again and recommend to family and friends is the exemplary service we received from the bar and kitchen staff

The food was amazing, called ahead to ask about food suitable for vegans and though they had nothing suitable on the menu, the chef made a 'posh' ratatouille and checked the ingredients of dessert for me, (which turned out to be ok!)

Nice venue for family get together, couples and girlie nights alike. Two menus - one is Tapas.

The town was crying out for a place such as this, somewhere offering a different quality experience at reasonable prices. Where many have opened in our town and failed this most defiantly hasnt

Fantastic experience at V Lounge and Voujon!!

On our very first visit found the staff very helpful & friendly even the head chef Dominic came out to say hi to guests, we will definitely be returning again

Came here a few days ago to meet up with girlfriends for a belated birthday lunch. Head Chef Dominic could not have been more accommodating of the vegan in the party, making a delicious 3 course lunch of stuffed tomatoes with butternut squash veloute, a lovely plate of different oven roasted vegetables, and a pudding of roasted plums. All very natural, flavoursome food. The other diners shared a mixed selection of tapas, and a great big burger and salad. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed far too long as we were having such a great time. Lovely place, great food, lovely waitress and very nice garden. Good value for money too, will definitely be back.

Great welcome, friendly staff, lovely selection of adult beverages, a lovely little oasis of sunshine out back. Delicious food was beautifully presented and passionately created. Will be back again and again!!!

Had a fabulous family meal yesterday; 8 people. All ages and one member a vegan. Food was really good , couldn't fault it, every one up to age 87 agreed. I was very impressed that the chef was able to produce an extremely tasty vegan meal for my daughter-in-law who is keen to go there again next time they visit. The Chef came out personally to ask if her meal had been ok, and then came out again to discuss options for dessert. Service at the table was also very good, even when we caused a little chaos taking some family photos!

best sunday roast in banbury by a country mile. great service and the food is amazing. lamb shank is excellent. I have had the beef before and that is just as good.

The girl ( and I say girl not in a detremental way, but, because she was a lot younger than us!) couldn't have been more helpful, even got me a little slug of wine to try before I ordered the bottle. She was very charming. The whole place was clean and the decor was great, lovely atmosphere as well, not too big and very friendly, lovely to see all sorts of different groups of people having a meal out. The burgers which we had were such good value for money, the salad was fresh and the chips were to die for. The starters/tapas portion sizes were huge! and the dessert was gorgeous. Even got real After 8 Mints with the bill - 100% recommend for great value for money and yummy!!

Nice to sit and have drink before our meal

My 9 year old and 5 friends spent 2 hours trampolining for a birthday treat and then on to the v lounge for dinner. Staff very friendly and attentive & chef Dominic went out of his way to make sure the kids were well catered for and the food was amazing(my sons favorite mustard mash)

I visited V Lounge and it was amazingly nice visit.... I liked the food and service very much... I would recommend anyone to visit this place... there's a very nice guy working as the supervisor of the Vlounge... he is very helpful guy and will make your visit great... I'm really very thankful to him and would visit this place again and again because of him....

A table for 6 last Sunday thoroughly enjoyed an excellent Sunday Roast lunch.

Midweek meal for a large group. This was a pleasant town-centre place which can't quite decide if it's a pub or restaurant.

We took a party of 16 to the V lounge for Sunday lunch today. Absolutely no complaints. The food was delicious and the staff could not do enough for us. Fantastic service. We loved the roaring fire and comfortable surroundings.

A group of us decided to visit V Lounge to support local enterprise and new business. The setting is really rather nice. There was an open fire dancing away, in the bar area and lots of nice touches such as the light made of old pipework. Probably quite nice for a quick drink.
