Wife and I visited on Saturday 5th October, very friendly and great service, food was good and hot, great menu, will definitely call in on our next trip to Banbury, disablety accessible.

Great place Bob,Tom and all the staff make you feel welcome friendly door staff and everyone feels welcome from the start great selection of beers and with the connoisseur of Guinness Neo behind the bar this place is a gem don't miss out

No food, no WiFi but good beer ... Hooky!

I think this is the first time Jorvic and Paulicarus have had a pint of Hooky bitter from Hook Norton brewery. It is a while since I've drunk it. One of the few long standing family brewers left in the UK. Good sunny rear beer garden. Open plan interior. The rear part of the room is cosier. Full range of their beers. Pint of Hooky and a pint of Madri £10.95. I think food only available Sunday. Sunday roast £13, served 12 - 4. Lots of live music. Toilets upstairs but accessible one down at end of bar. In Good Beer Guide and a Cask Marque. I suspect I would have preferred the ambience of the old multi room pub.

Good pub with a few nooks and crannies where you can go for a quiet drink even when they got the music playing in the main bar.

Hosted first Banbury Pride event. Great place with good prices on drinks and great atmosphere.

Lovely pub with really friendly staff and amazing food

In a small alleyway, this pub - owned by a local brewery - is nicely furnished and the beers that we had - the IPA and stout - were tasty. We just missed their daily offer of two cocktails for the price of one after which the place soon emptied !

Spent many enjoyable years here drinking, but sad to see less food offerings. Great to see the opening times are back to normal though. 😀

What an amazing evening! The FABULOUS staff at The Coach and Horses helped me to pull off THE BEST 60th surprise birthday party for my partner last Friday. A private area for our family and friends. The talented staff presented us with a gorgeous Greek Mezze, DJ Birch played all our favourite tunes and the staff couldn't have done enough for us. We laughed, chatted and danced the night away. Memories made after a few tough months for our family. THANK YOU XX 💕

Called in on the off chance, as we were told they have a selection of ale's. Upon arriving the door person's were friendly and reassuring, Was pleased with the selection of ale's, would of liked the beer to of held it's head a bit longer. That evening there was a live band, they made it a better evening in the pub.

This place is just so welcoming. Staff is fab, drinks are quality and Sunday roast is splendid. It’s also dog friendly.

Myself, my partner, sister and best friend wanted to get together for Sunday Lunch. We are so glad we chose the Coach and Horses. Newly reburbised, welcoming to vegetarians, dog friendly, fabulous food, attentive staff...equals empty plates! Amazing value too. This is going to be a regular event for us. Thanks so much

The food was OK pale chicken needed a brown in oven .the young lad Owen his name said on bill was attentive it feeled our hungry tummy on our stop home from Yorkshire

Great location for one using train and others driving. Traditional Hoooky pub with good selection of beers, well kept.Smallish menu, but enough to suit all of us. Food and service excellent, and decent value in these trying times.

We were here for a drink pre dinner and pleased to see the full quota of Hook Norton ales available. Nicer decor and ambience, would definitely visit again if in the area.

We held our mother's 80th birthday party here. They did a wonderful buffet for us. The staff are wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Thank you all.

Just, if the perfect pub exists, then this is it. A grand selection of drinks, on draught and spirits. Staff that welcome you on entry and more importantly, make time to say goodbye when you leave. They invent their own cocktails, they have time for you to chat, laugh or just to lend an ear for your woes. Live music most Saturdays. Beautiful people beautiful pub. Everyone is welcome. In need of some proper British pub food, I and 2 friends patronized this place this evening and it did not disappoint! Albeit it was early in the evening it was quiet, which was what we wanted. Staff is super friendly, attentive, and just well really cool people. My steak n ale pie was on point, just what I was looking for, and my mates' meals' looked equally good. At the end, they even honored a discount that had been expired for quite some time (so long they didn't even remember it was a thing). They didn't have to do that, but did, so that's a huge thanks from me on that one. Food, excellent Service, superb Atmosphere, great. Intangibles, well amazing. In town only a short time, so lots of other places to explore, but given the chance, I'd definitely hit this place up again.

Love the live music. Love the staff and the atmosphere. Just don't love getting cut off from cocktails at 8pm, because they are busy. Not the first or even 2nd time this has happened. But, nice cocktails.

Food was absolutely gorgeous and tasty... Manager at lunchtime could have been less grumpy, which is why the place lost a star. Shame really.

Went in for food and was told the kitchen was closed, despite it saying online it should have been open. Had a drink and sat outside, nice little pub, comfortable and cosy.

Very good Hook Norton ales in good nick. The interior is well furnished and there is a small outside area too.

The evolution of brewing never ceases to amaze me. Had a very refreshing pint of Rhubarb cider at this great pub.

Overpriced and if you are not Ingerlish the landlord will have a derogatory story to tell about your country. Five times I asked him to stop with his insulting, to my country, rant, but nothing was going to stop him. I expect if you are a paid up member of the Tommy Robinson Supporters Club you will be made very welcome here.

Visited Banbury and had a late lunch at the Coach and Horses. It was fabulous!!! Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

The people who work here are just the nicest bunch, so friendly and helpful even to large groups of people on a busy Saturday! The atmosphere is really nice for a pub in the middle of Banbury, too. Cocktails were well good, we ordered food which was served super quickly. Couldn't recommend more!

We made a late booking for a table, we had seen an offer for Steak and chip with fizz for two for £30. We arrived early and enjoyed cocktails at the bar, we watched them being made by Tom, very impressive! We chose a table at the back of the restaurant for our meal with a view into the garden. Our food arrived quickly , as did the fizz. The steaks were small, which we expected for the price, and they were cooked perfectly. The hand made chips and peppercorn sauce were delicious too. Tom was a great host, he was engaging and attentive, ensuring everything was as it should be. He chatted about the chef and suggested that we try his specials, which we will return for. He also recommended a delicious dessert - lemon tart which we enjoyed. We ended the evening back in the bar with cocktails, there was a lovely atmosphere and Tom still checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Excellent service!! We had a lovely time and great food, we will definitely be returning.

Went in to eat with a few friends whilst in Banbury. The menu has a quote on it saying that the pub is for everyone, but despite having a vegan label on the menu key, the only vegan option was a side portion of chips. We left without ordering a drink or food.

Deservedly and increasingly popular pub/restaurant in the heart of historic Banbury. Large old pub but with a modern ambiance. Excellent very good value food and the best beer and cocktails. Excellent mix of old v modern. Is becoming a flagship for the local Hook Norton ales, usually five in prime condition are available.

Sorry to say coming up from cornwall was looking forward to a sunday lunch not one to complain but partner and myself was most disappointed putting chewing beef in tissue as was impossible to eat,sorry but one of the worst meals ive had not to mention the oily Yorkshire pudding ,im writing this not to mean but hope it's put right to help you,on a positive the staff were friendly

Had an amazing dinner here for my birthday last night, cant fault service and the food was the nicest meal we have had in a while

What a wonderful visit we had! I walk with crutches and I’d been treated quite poorly in another bar close by but what a totally different experience here! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by some very friendly and helpful staff outside. The experience inside was just as welcoming. We went on the ‘retro disco’ night and my hubby and friends enjoyed dancing the night away to some great music. We had a truly amazing night in here. I would definitely recommend it for a visit.

Lovely place, very friendly The owner should be contacted to advise if there are disabled toilets, else they are all up stairs from what I saw.

Excellent food and fast service, very friendly staff.

If you're looking for great food and the best beer (Hook Norton) then this is the place for you. It's inexpensive, clean, welcoming and has great staff. We went on a Saturday lunch time. A little over £60.00 for five mains, two beers and a Coke (we had more drinks but they weren't on our table bill) We had the burger, chicken and bacon sandwich, chicken Schnitzel, tofish and chips and a curry. They have five Hooky cask ales on. Great choice. Watch out for the 172 Gold. 7.2% is a bit punchy for lunchtime.

What makes a great experience? I think if some elements are exceptional but none are less than good. You made the grade Coach and Horses, thank you. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
