I am a bit bemused that a business on a railway station could be so unprofessionaly run. The staff behind the counter could not get people's order correct. There was a lack of communication. The customer service was lacking there was even a hint of rudeness in the to e of voice by the person serving. When .I wet to collect my drink she said in a abrupt voice that's not yours. I think retraining.is needed here.

Stodgy undercooked baguette with all of about 5p worth of filling. Moreover, the filling that was in there was dried out and hard. Needed a grab and go for the train journey, shouldn’t have bothered!

Limited to baguettes - which they could heat up. Crispy bread but limp lettuce. We had Brie and ham and cheese.

I don't think I've ever came across such poor customer service in years , the lack of smiles may well be done to lack of enthusiasm from the 2 staff members on duty who could do with also learning some basic housekeeping as in keeping surroundings clean and clear , older ladies glasses on the till definitely put out by actually having to serve folk tried to short change me by 3.11 then by 2.60 , no maths skills what so ever if only she hadn't slammed the till shut so quickly maybe her bad maths wouldn't have came to the fore ! Then to the baguette chicken cesar well stale dried up bread with little to no sauce as described ,warmed up straight from the uncovered display so the little bit of lettuce was nice and mush at £5.99 I at least want something fresh if only to compensate for the appalling lack of customer service , didn't bother with coffee as clearly this would have been a step to far for the grumpy old woman serving I'd hate to be interrupting her busy doing nothing day ! Save your money and eat on the train is my advice !

I purchased a tuna mayo baguette for £4.49. When I began to eat it I realised there was virtually no filling. I took it back and asked for a refund. This request was refused " we can't do anything about it as all food is prepared to a set quantity". The website describes their baguettes as " generously filled by hand". What a joke! I am cross with myself for not pushing the point as my rights as a consumer. The standard was definitely not acceptable. I have since tried to contact the number for customer services, but cannot get an answer " no agents available to take your call". Awful food, awful service, awful customer care. Also, the cafe area was a disgrace.

Upper Crust is situated on the platform at Crewe Station. A good selection of food for that long, or short train journey. Not a big lover of their coffee, but the food is great.

Like a trip back to the 80’s aside from the prices. The decor has been thrown together and then forgotten about. Nothing about this place is endearing. The cost of a small Americano and a small sausage cob (bread roll) was £7.48. The food was placed in a heater so the bread was hot and there was 1.5 sausages with no ketchup / sauce. It tasted dreadful. Outrageous prices and the place is a dump. The review gets 2/5 because the staff were very warm &. Friendly. I feel like I’ve seriously been ripped off

I know flat white comes in one smallish size but this is the smallest flat white I've ever seen in my life and it wasn't cheap! The baguette was better value as it wasn't much more.

Says open till 9pm on here. I assume its now changed. But to be closed at 720pm. Wont serve hot drinks of anything when i asked why? The miserable, poorly presented, almost dirty looking supervisor tells me we close in 10 minutes thats why. Attitude disgsuting and service appalling Teach your managers some customer service, clarify your opening hours, train your staff in hospitality. Tell them not to close down he whole restaurant, pile chairs, block areas all before 7pm then start disuading customers from using one of the only refreshment areas in the whole od a busy train station like crewe. The worst uppercrist ever visited and i have visited hundreds.

Having arrived at Crewe station and on way to a funeral, this was the only place I could find on Crewe station. I found the food selection very limited. Not everyone want pastries. Had to limit myself to a Kit Kat The coffee was more expensive than the average establishment. Overall, dissapointed, and not leaving a good impression

This is just your average station buffet nothing more nothing less. Good range of products on offer. Staff where freindy enought coffee was OK.

The food we purchased here was most acceptable. The eating and waiting areas though were: 1 Not cleared. 2 Untidy 3 Gave impression of not being cared for. 4 Dirty windows. Not a very good impression at all.

I suppose I shouldn't expect much of a cafe on a railway station but even given low expectations this one was poor. The cafe was dirty, lots of food all over the floor, the tables hadn't been cleared and ours was covered with something very sticky. There was only one girl serving, making the coffee, taking the money and doing everything. She was actually doing pretty well considering she had it all to do herself but I was glad I had lots of time before my train was due since there was a long queue which moved very slowly. The coffee was OK but quite expensive.

Visited here while waiting on a train to Manchester oh what a fab little place there toasties & lemon drizzle cake is fab all beautifully prepared & presented all wrapped up and ready to board your train and you can also sit in if you have some waiting time extremely friendly staff & very clean & tidy .

I had a sausage, cheese and egg baguette for breakfast, half way through i started to feel taste of plastic , took few pieces out , went at the counter and asked to swap with something else and i would have been all right if the women at the counter wouldn't have decided after a few minutes to come and tell me that wasnt actually plastic , it was egg , this is what the cooks told her , i sorry guys , if you can't make the difference btw plastic and egg you should get yourself another job

We stopped en route at Crewe Station to wait for our connection to Preston. I walked into Upper Crust to order a small Cappucinno for my wife and I. I order as per normal the smallest cup which they call a Flat White cup. I was informed by the staff that they could not serve a cappuccino in the flat white cup. Everywhere I drink coffee inc Starbucks, Costa, Cafe Nero and all the smaller coffee houses will serve you a cappuccino in the small cup. How bizarre that they have been told they cannot. They lost business for 2 coffees and I’m sure they will not worry. But with the state of the high street and needing to listen to your customers I would think they should learn from these circumstances and think straight. Diabolical decision Upper Crust I would never frequent your cafes again and hope others see this rule as reduculous and not worthy of anyones business.

Wow, does this place need to train its staff in customer service! We seemed to be spoiling their perfect day by wanting to eat and be served.They didnt throw the food at us, but they came close.Not very nice food either, a bit pricey too. But you are a captive audience at a stationWould I go back? --- Nope!

Staff in this place on platform 11 need to go on a customer service course.both women barking out out to customers where they should stand!!

Ok but food isn’t great and everything is quite overpriced guess you are on the station so limited choice; but there are better ones!

Visited on the way back south changing trains . food overpriced and not that good same allies to the coffee . not great .

Great place for a snack before your train or on the train - not cheap but quite nice - good deals on drinks too

Two teas and a bacon muffin and a sausage muffin over £12. Both put in oven and both cold. Took back to counter and server scowled. He took them off me and reheated them Disgusting! They were still cold. To add further insult he said “there you go”! Not a whiff of apology. Thanks for nothing! Who trains these people?, clearly nobody! This place is a disgrace to Crewe station

I was rather surprised by how expensive it was, so I just bought an Americano and a small bacon roll.

Arriva Trains Wales may depart around 6 am, but bring your own coffee as nothing happens until much later on the weekends food wise. The coffee and breakfas bun to a hungry traveler was great and the staff were super nice.

they sell brilliant food and drinks here will defiantly call again they have a really good service team and are really friendly

We had to change trains at Crewe recently, we decided to have a cup of coffee. After the first sip, both my wife and I pulled a face; it was terrible. It was absolutely tasteless. I took it back and complained. I was given two more cups which was exactly the same. We left the entire contents of two large cups.

Trying to get a simple coffee. Was informed that coffee not served yet wad served yesterday afternoon. Staff really not interested in fact staff rude still didn't get coffee Interested to know any comments from so called :management"

I found this cafe to be far too expensive at nearly £8 for a basic sandwich and a can of soft drink! Anyway, the sandwich (chicken & bacon club) was quite good and well filled, but it was nothing that was worth the inflated price, almost double what you would pay in many other sandwich shops for the same thing.

Half-way through a long journey we decided on a coffee: ha! We decided to sit in what we were told was the 'Virgin' lounge: (here my lord I submit three photographs in evidence). I asked a young lady to give one of the NINE dirty tables a clean and was told that they were Virgin's responsibility so i went onto the platform and was told that while the cafe was open(?) it was the responsibility of the Upper Crust staff! I went back and was told that 'No it wasn't it was Virgin's'. We left but i did photograph all nine tables and they all looked like the three I have enclosed... wouldn't you think these morons would have sorted this out by now?

After a long day in London which started in Crewe at a little after 5am I was looking forward to a coffee to wake me up whilst I had a 30 minute wait for my connecting train. I politely requested my usual Americano with milk, and prepared to respond in the negative to the expected pressure sales of the last few crusty cakes or softening baguettes at overly inflated prices for items that would shortly be making a trip into the obscurity of the refuse system. However, I was thrown a curveball... “Sorry, the coffee machine is going off, we’re closing in half an hour. You can have tea if you want?” was not the sparkling repartee I was ready for......not even the disappointment on my face was going to make them turn the machine on again. So I headed out onto platform 6 with a heavy heart, and no caffeine. Where do I go from here - to buy a Thermos most probably as I cannot cope with such disappointment again.

I recently had to change trains at Crewe and so, with 40 minutes to spare and having had no breakfast at home,Upper Crust on Platform 6 seemed inviting. There was a queue of 9 people, but it took 15 minutes to be served. The cappuccino was tasteless and the bacon muffin disgusting. It was reheated in such a way as to make it damp and the bread smelly. I had to leave the so-called muffin and just eat the bacon which had a curious sweet yet smokey flavour. Horrid, The only advantage was that there was plenty of spare seats. I shall never enter such a place again.

Overpriced, usually massively overcrowded, hot. Poor staff service and really nasty sandwiches and poor coffee. But hey, it's in a UK station, what do you expect?

I enjoy bagguets at the best of times upper crust do not disappoint on any front from sandwiches to hot food and coffee it's always fresh and very tasty I've never been dissatisfied with any of my purchases and can recommend all of the food provided here it's not to expensive so you can eat on a budget.

Fuimos por un sándwich y Frappe. Pedimos bebida oreo, no tienen así que pedí un caramelo salada. El caramelo estaba vacío pero salados fingió para ponerla de todos modos. Entonces no había suficiente para llenar la taza, así que añadió más hielo, entonces no pude conseguir a través de la pajita. El bocadillo estaba bien, pero el servicio era terrible y extremadamente caro. El caballero sin pelo me sirve mientras que gritaba en otros clientes a unirse a el lado correcto de la cola, que eran simplemente mirando el menú y no hace falta que diga que la izquierda, ya que la vergüenza. No volveré de nuevo, como dije horrible servicio

Siempre un cambio en el personal de aquí, pero la mayoría son muy bonitas. La comida es buena, pero es muy caro. Las bebidas son de buena calidad. La zona es una buena sala de espera para el tren.

Caro para un capuchino tibio. cola demasiado tiempo para llevar cuando el tren debido. No le vendría mal una ordenada por donde se deja tazas, documentos, etc. en las mesas.
