Came in for a quick latte with a bowl of chips, not that busy and the lady behind the counter kept asking what people wanted and took over 30 mins to be served and 20 mins of this was for my chips. SLOW SLOW SLOW

Avoid if also doing a weekly shop- the car park gets very congested and you can be 20 mins waiting to exit and then if you are over 2 hours in total they get to charge you £85 for parking!!

Dreadful. This store has got steadily worse. Used to be great. Now, empty shelves, out of date stuff, totally crap! Carpark is something else, you can be in there for ages trying to get out!!!

Totally disgusted with the whole Cafe, been in many times while shopping . Tables never cleared of pots or even cleaned, am armed with antibacterial wipes to clean it myself. Floor I don't think ever gets swept let alone mopped. I understand about being short staff. As I worked in many kitchens over the years was taught that tables needed to be kept clean, any food on the floor needed to be swept ASAP etc.. this is not there priority at all and it should be. Talking however is. Service is so slow and no smile, menu always run out of stuff. Coffee is either to strong or to weak. (changing coffee beans may help) Toilets never have papper and smells so again never checked. For a big name like Sainsbury's this is not the standard one expects.

I went to macclesfield Sainsbury's today. 26/11/23. I had to return my coat because the zip had failed. Of course I was very disappointed But I really wanted the exact someone I looked on line and they had sold out. So I asked Louise at the clothing department To find the nearest store where they have them She phoned a few places and finally find one. They are holding it for me and hopefully getting it today or tomorrow I think Louise was very kind, helpful and patient and very calm, sorting it all out for me. Thank you so much Louise for helping me. 😁

Came for a lunch 1pm with my toddler. Asked for a childrens lunch bag- don’t have, fish finger sandwich-didn’t have, adult fish finger sandwich- don’t have.. assistant offered cheese&tomato pizza.. I said ok and moments later she said oh sorry we don’t have it anymore.. at that point I said we just have an apple juice, thanks! Terrible experience, surely they could stock up (cafe being in a supermarket!) Also chair and floor were filthy.

Decent breakfast, very good value and well cooked. Didn't get 4 or 5 stars as too slow to add nectar card on till, system apparently and after requesting no butter on toast it came buttered. Would have been 4 star but cutlery was obviously left under hot lamps, could have caused an injury

Called to get a bit of lunch in the café after spending the morning in the park with my wife and daughter who's birthday it is first we could not get the drinks from the dispenser as its not working and hasn't been for a few weeks apparently so we opted for a bottle of taste the difference orange and passion fruit a j2o style with not much j and lot's of o2, then we ordered 2 beef lasagne, 2 sweet potato fries and a kids nuggets chips and peas, the lady who served us had to shout in the kitchen to check ever item to see if it was available? all on the standard menu we then asked for 2 cheesey garlic bread also on the menu an were told we don't sell it(it's on a huge illuminated menu on the wall) then to be told we're out of stock..... Its a café in a supermarket go get some of the shelves when the meals came minus the garlic bread it looked over microwaved hard on the corners no colour on the top not been glazed in a oven or grill the nuggets were the cheap reformed crappy ones (Jamie Oliver would not approve) fries not to bad but a little stingy for a supposedly high quality supermarket you can get better food at a greasy spoon café and they will have the full menu available really need to improve and get some staff who know what they are doing been to the one in Cheadle same menu but a whole world away in presentation and how it's cooked and served

Very disappointed that Sainsbury's no longer stock Naturli vegan spread and mince. These products were far superior to the usual bland range for vegans in store. So annoying that a quality healthy and tasty product has been discontinued

We always call in this store for lunch when we visit our relatives in Stockport. The food and service are usually very good, but this all changed on Sunday 7th April. We made our way through the store to the café at the back and I queued at the counter. No sign of any staff behind the serving counter. She was leaning on the dirty plate rack, talking to another member of staff. I waited patiently for service and she stopped gossiping and came to serve me. I had chosen a pannini and she shouted through to the kitchen for this to be heated. Putting my pots of tea and cakes on a tray, I carried them over to my husband. I waited ten minutes for my snack and then went over to the service area to enquire how long it would be. She shouted over to the kitchen, asking where the pannini was. Five minutes later it appeared, tea was going cold and I was not amused about the delay. At no time did I see any tables being wiped, although plates were being cleared. We use to enjoy calling at this café but it will be a long time before we call again. It is not cheap, the whole snack cost about £10.00, but I did not mind before as the café was clean and cosy. I think the café manager needs to address these problems and maybe remind the staff that customers mean money in the till.

Make sure you ask for bacon well done as most places have no clue on how to cook bacon properly. Good breakfast, little on the expensive side but a good quality breakfast. Scored average because of cost & poor bacon cooking skills.

Very rude unhelpful staff, i ordered vegetarian meal which wasn’t available, lady serving said “why don’t you have a bacon sandwich instead”. No common sense whatsoever who would suggest bacon to replace vegetarian meal?! Contacted customer services over a week ago and am still waiting for a response other than acknowledgement saying someone will contact me ASAP. Will not be going there again.

We stopped for 2 coffees while shopping. The service was ridiculously slow. A good 15 minutes or more in the queue. When we finally got our coffees one had a bit of sugar packet floating in it. They did replace that drink but it really puts me off their cleanliness standards.

Three of us and our 11 month old grandson went for lunch before doing some shopping. We all decided to get the All Day Breakfast which is bigger than the normal breakfast. 2 fried eggs, 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 hash browns, beans, tomato and 2 rounds of toast for £6 each. My daughter swapped fried eggs for scrambled eggs. The drinks were separate and we had tea, coke and water. Service was a bit slow probably because the cafe was fairly busy. And it did offer all sorts on the menu. We nearly ordered omelettes and the cafe offered pies and fish, etc, so there was plenty on offer. Our breakfasts were nicely presented and hot. One of my eggs was a bit overdone but other than that I would get breakfast again if I went there again. There was a stack of high chairs for children and we used one. There were clean toilets next to the cafe. It was a good place to eat.

Staff at Sainsbury's are always friendly. Have been here for breakfast and it is really good. Lots of choice. It is a good place to meet up with a friend. You can stay as long as you wish and read the papers, then do your shopping afterwards. It is a very pleasant experience. Would recommend.

Six of us went for breakfast today 29th. The whole store was really cold. We had 4 big breakfasts and one junior breakfast. When the food finally came, they had forgotten to make the junior breakfast. Therefore we had more waiting time. The service of the staff was non-existent. Most of them seemed to be interested in talking to each other, instead of concentrating on the needs of the customers. There was no hot drinks available other than filter coffee and tea. People around were waiting a lo g time for food. Not a good visit. Definitely won't be giving it another try.

I never thought I would be reviewing a supermarket café!! Called in with my son for a quick lunch, I had cottage pie with peas and carrots - he had fish and chips. The cottage pie was good, large portion, lots of meat and gravy with well cooked veg. His fish and chips were amazing. The chips, although of the frozen type, were crisp and had beautiful soft centres (got my hand slapped by son when I went for the fifth one) and the fish was exceptional. Honestly, didn't see that coming. It was a large white fish (cod or haddock) fillet with beautiful big flakes of soft fish, and an oh so light crispy batter. With a lucozade and cup of black mint tea it came to under £12.00. I thanked the staff and asked which aisle the frozen fish came from, however the fish is freshly battered in the café kitchen. An unexpected find. Well done Sainsbury's.

Surprised this cafe has not received a review before. I was visiting Macclesfield Cemetery and West Park and this is the nearest place for lunch. Sainsbury's is not known as a budget supermarket and I very rarely shop there, so I was really surprised by the reasonable prices in their cafe. The special was lasagne (beef or vegetable) and it was marked up at £5. Being vegetarian I ordered the vegetable lasagne and a cup of tea and the total I was charged was £5 (the tea was included in the deal!). The staff were really friendly and approachable and I had my meal within 5 minutes of ordering it! The vegetable lasagne came with a side salad and garlic bread - this was a proper side-salad with a range of leaves, cherry tomatoes and cucumber. The garlic bread was cooked to perfection (not burnt to to a crisp as some places do) and the lasagne itself has to be the best I have ever tasted! It looked and tasted home-made (which I hope it was) and wasn't hard round the edges like lasagne goes when cooked in a microwave. The pasta was lovely and soft and it was packed full with a range of vegetables (butternut squash, peppers and courgettes). A very satisfying meal, reasonably prices and good service - what more could you ask for?

I booked a table for a family and friends meet up. We gave our food orders a month prior as asked for. We waited ages for our food which was totally awful to say the least. Totaly overcooked fish and chips. Overcooked steak and had to wait ages for a replacement ( everyone else had finished eating) steak pie turned out to be chicken pie with overcooked and cold chips. Bacon chop was overcooked and dry, fried egg overcooked and dry, plate was covered with overcooked chips. Overall it is the worst food we've all experienced in a long time. The only good thing about our evening here was the waiting staff, having to cover up for an abysmal food experience.

Great service from the 2 lovely young ladies working in the morning on the 16th October in the northbound branch inside the services. Both seemed to be really enjoying their job and made my day work a small drawing of a pumpkin and the message safe travels written on the lid. Nice to see young people that don't just do the minimum to get by.
