Wonderful experience tonight. All the waiting staff was attentive especially our waitress Kamila was great, food was awesome 😁

The food the last few times I have been hasn't been like it used to be in the old building, I had an upset stomach after eating last time I came, it's a shame as I used to like coming here.

We ordered the sharing platter for two, recommended by our fantastic server, Anna, who helped us pick the perfect option. She was brilliant – attentive, friendly, and clearly knows the menu well! The food was beautifully cooked, full of flavor, and the portion was generous. Each bite was better than the last! The atmosphere was welcoming, and Anna’s recommendation made it even better. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Turkish cuisine. We’ll definitely be back!

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but this place truly deserves it. You know that feeling when a spot just clicks, and you leave already thinking about when you’ll be back? That was this experience for my wife and me. We found this gem while browsing online. Although we live nearby, I’d figured it was more of a spot for the younger university crowd. But after reading some reviews that suggested otherwise, we thought we’d give it a shot. When we arrived around 6 p.m., we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The place was a bit busy but had plenty of reserved tables — and, let me tell you, I’ve never seen a restaurant fill up so fast. Within half an hour, it was packed, and a musician began playing live, setting a wonderful mood. Before we knew it, we were tapping our feet, whistling, and enjoying mocktails as the atmosphere came alive. The food was a real highlight. For starters, we had sucuk and halloumi, served with complimentary yogurt dips, fresh salad, a spicy salad, and warm bread — everything tasted spot-on. Then came the mains: I ordered lamb chops, and my wife had the chicken shish with bulgur. Those lamb chops were easily the best I’ve had, and I tried a bit of my wife’s chicken, which was equally delicious. We capped the meal with a baklava and ice cream to share, which was a perfect, sweet ending. The service was top-notch, from the host to the waitstaff. They genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. They even offered us tea before we left, which was a nice touch that ended the evening on a high note. We have been coming here for years but I’m afraid both me and my partner had food poisoning after our food last night. The rice was undercooked and although at the time we didn’t think much of it but it kept me up all night vomiting. This is incredibly irresponsible of the restaurant to serve customers undercooked food and cause them severe harm

Best place in Southampton. Me and my family love coming here. Everyone is friendly and the food is very delicious. My favourite is the wombo combo platter with the lamb chops and ribs. Their milkshakes are also delicious and I usually don’t like milkshakes. Definitely try this place if your in the area.

Have been here before, tried some new dishes chicken parma didn't taste of much and the other chicken shish in yoghurt was not good either the team did offer a replacement, so that was appreciated. The servers were very friendly and kind but we did ask for turkish tea and after waiting 20mins we left. The music is a little loud but atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Just disappointed with the food especially when you pay £60 for 3 dishes you expect better quality and taste.

Ordered mixed shish and chicken skewer with kofta. This came with sides. Also ordered (not so) spicy salad. You also get a small selection of bread and different selction of sauces/hummus and a big plate of salsa/sauce. Kunafe for dessert. The chicken and kofta were delicious and cooked perfectly. Sadly, the lamb pieces were fatty and not tender at all. The cheese in the dessert was melted enough, but the flavour was nice. The place was clean and aesthetic was cute

No matter where I go, I will always return to Uni Kebab. Their meat is always fresh, the staff always take good care of you. There's always leftovers to take home as they don't cut down on their quantity or quality. If you're looking for a place to go, come here, you won't regret it. I've been here more times than I can count and will return again! The live music tonight was amazing, as always. Keep up the good work guys!!

The food was really good, high quality ingredients nicely presented. Chips were excellent. Our only grumble was the high level of noise from the music. We'll definitely return though.

Very popular dinning, Uni in the name, and it's location may imply University students, at least that's what I thought, but no only was the place rammed, the clientele was age diverse as well as ethnically diverse. The food was amazing, tasty and fresh, I have had many a kebab after a night in the pub, I can assure you this was nothing like that. I would recomend this restaurant to anyone.

We ate in once and it was amazing. We ordered take away a few times and although the food continues to be amazing, I feel like customer service should improve. I asked the first time (when I could get through their phone) if possible for chips to be in a separate container, and they very kindly did that, but the last couple of times the lady at the desk refused. She didn’t even bother to ask the kitchen staff. I respect that it’s her right to refuse but I don’t understand why and I think it’s not a big deal for them to do separate containers if the costumer has a preference. I tried to call them several times and there was no answer. When I arrived at the restaurant, it wasn’t busy at all and the lady at the front said the phone wasn’t ringing but when I showed her the phone number and asked if that was it she said “maybe”. She didn’t even care. When I tried phoning again on the spot just to check, there was no phone ringing at the front desk. So they either have it on silent so they don’t have to answer it or their line isn’t working, however this is not the first time it happened.

Great food. The soup was amazing and the cold mezze is always great option. Chicken and lamb shishs are a must and always excellent in flavour. At the end you can enjoy a nice Turkish tea. The only think is service could be a bit better. It was good but always try to be more empathic with kids

Happened to be in Southampton and chose to go here based on their reviews. I can hands down say this is in my top 3 turkish restaurants iv been to in UK. The flavours were unique and everything tasted so fresh. Usually in Turkish places when you order mixed grills there's always something that you don't like but every single meat and side was a strong 9/10. After speaking to the chef he explained they use all homemade recipes but most importantly organic meats. It's clear he was telling the truth and it all made sense. Tasted very similar to the restaurants in actual Turkey. It's not the cheapest place, 4 adults and 4 kids ate generously for £150 but I would happily spend this again here. Wish I had a branch in London. Keep up the great work

I went to Uni Kebab with my child today. The weather was a bit chilly and my little girl was cold. A lady welcomed us at the door. They gave us a table in the hallway. I asked if one of the tables inside was available. She said we could sit if we made a reservation. I opened the website and made a reservation. I told her we would come in an hour. Then she said even if we came, we would sit at this table. Her attitude was very rude. I think she was arrogant because she was the wife of the owner. I have never experienced something like this in a restaurant before. I have known this kebab restaurant for 10 years. It used to be much more friendly before. I took my children and we ate another restaurant. I am very disappointed.

Hello, thank you for your response. I don't know who wrote this message. I'm sure there is a camera in your restaurant, please turn it on and watch it and see how the restaurant owner talked today. I know she may be the owner of the restaurant but she doesn't give the right to talk to a customer in such a degrading manner. I didn't even know about the music broadcast that day, I just came to eat with my children on a Sunday. If you had explained that restaurant is busy because of the music broadcast, I could have understood the situation. The high demand should not cause the respect for the customer to decrease. This will be against the business. When I previously ordered a kebab for 4 people, a portion for 2 people was delivered and when I wrote this as a comment on Instagram, my comment was deleted instead of explaining. I don't think it's right to ignore criticism instead of evaluating it. My children were disturbed by the attitude of the lady who owns the restaurant and did not want to eat there.That’s why we had to leave. In your answer you say that we need to make a reservation but we can't choose which table to sit at. If there is a way we can make sure that you don't reserve in front of the door, please specify. Honestly phenomenal service and general vibe of the restaurant, service is top-notch and food is extremely tasty, though Turkish foods often don't hit the spot for me, Uni Kebab made me realise just how good it can be.

Friendly staff.. We had a table outside so did not get to experience the love entertainment. Food portions are generous. Signature calzone dishes are huge.

Amazing food as usual. the bread is fabulous and the Lamb is particularly flavoursome. Kamila served us and was extremely polite and attentive. Great value and plenty left to bring home for seconds. My only criticism is they need to open another restaurant in Bournemouth.

Great food and friendly service

The attitude of the staff in Uni Kebab is so amazing honestly made such a beautiful and memorable birthday to me, one of the best, loved it so much and will DEFINITELY go back again. Anna was so nice and sweet and was always checking on us , brought the cake, sang happy birthday to me, put a birthday song to play through the whole restaurant and made for an unforgettable birthday. Other staff were so nice too.

First trip to Southampton, found this restaurant by accident. I really enjoyed. Meal was lovely but above all the welcoming staff who were very courteous. Felt welcomed. Thank you for lovely time had. Wishing u all success.

This place has a good ambience and food is great as well. went on a day with live music! Customer service by Steve, specially was commending enough. And love the people there!

We went for a calzone this evening as not local as had great experiences in the past . On first appearance the new look looked promising sadly that wasn't the case. We waited 50minutes and no food after being told numerous times its 5-10minutes away and seeing plenty of bagged orders going out the door. There were only 5/6 tables dining in and more staff to tables after just over 50minutes we paid for our drinks and left and will not be returning. It was ran better in the old venue with simple salad/menu and not to many staff confusing each other We never waites more than 15-20minutes. What would have been over £50 cost less than £10 and hungry customers.

Had an absolutely brilliant experience at this Turkish restaurant! The food was incredibly tasty and authentic, with perfectly seasoned kebabs, delicious mezes, and freshly baked warm bread. The service was attentive and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was cosy and inviting, ideal for a relaxed evening. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Turkey. 5 stars!

I want to start by saying they had a lot of new staff in last night and whilst everyone was so friendly and nice, attentive, it just wasn't the best. They can only improve and I wish them all the best! Naila and Eva (sorry if misspelling!) were basically running the show themselves out there. Unfortunately drinks took a while and they came back about 3 times to ask which drinks we wanted, then came back to say they couldn't make them. Our starters then arrived before them and that's disappointing. The music was a little too loud for us (sorry we like to be able to talk and hear each other) but it was nice to have live music too! The food - the portions are huge. Like, so, so huge. We struggled to eat our mains after the complimentary bread, dips and salad. Everything was great quality, I cannot fault the quality at all. It was incredibly rich and decadent food so the huge portions (and I am sorry but the chips were SO over salted) meant we struggled to eat everything. We now will have enough for lunch and dinner today I guess... I ordered a lamb dish and it came with both lamb and chicken, which was just a bit of a suprise / I didn't have the heart to say anything as it wasn't bad, just wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes for our taste. I think the service charge on the bill is very cheeky and presumptuous, I didn't have the heart to tell them to take it off so they did make extra out of us. All in all we wouldn't rush to return I AM sorry to say, but they're extremely highly rated so I doubt this will set a huge dent in their bookings.

As always a great meal at Uni Kebab. We always have leftovers which means we get to enjoy it again the next day at home! Maya and Camilla are always welcoming and friendly. The service is fab and the food is even better!

Went here on Saturday night, I cannot fault the staff, we had a chicken shish and salad with some meze, everything tasted amazing. Cannot recommend Uni Kebab enough!

£60 delivery. Freezing cold. 1 hour 10 minutes to arrive. Full of grease. Not worth the money. Unable to reply to the company's reply, I have emailed. The email from Deliveroo state they accepted our order at 1845. Different to what they state. The food couldn't have been "piping hot" Or the cheese would've melted, the calzone was freezing and grease had already leaked through the bottom of the boxes.

Fantastic Turkish restaurant. Food is always fresh, well prepared, and most importantly, delicious. The owners and staff are great. Always friendly and helpful. Really nice interior to the restaurant, also tables outside. Don't think of it as a Kebab shop, it is way, way more than that.

First visit definitely not the last. Platter for two would be enough for 3/4 people. Free salad and bread and some mazes to start with and free tea at the end. Everyone was friendly lovely interior overall excellent place must visit

We decided to go here because of the reviews. Unfortunately for us it was too loud with the music outside. The food is not cheap as you would expect for student pricing but the service and generosity made up for that. We were pleasantly greeted and we chose to sit out at the front because of the noise level inside. The staff were attentive and friendly, quickly taking our order. We were surprised when they offered us some free starters of dips and bread accompanied by a salad bowl. The owner came out as they had run out of the particular kebab that I wanted but the alternative was fresh hot and nice. I asked for chilli sauce and it was very nice with just the right amount of kick :) the restaurant is bright and nicely decorated just on the main road and they seemed to have a roaring online delivery trade too

I used to love it, but I recently got it. The doner meat looked like it was minced 🤮 I had to eat it with a spoon? When did you ever eat a doner kebab and have to eat it with a spoon because it was all minced? Put me off uni kebab forever. Also, they put chips underneath the "doner" meat, which means the chips are just full of grease? They should first have proper strips of doner meat, and seperate the chips in a different box so it isn't just full of grease and fat from the kebab. I didn't take a proper pic but I took a pic before I started eating, and zoomed in where you can see the mince, not 1 proper piece of doner. This cost me £20!

Visited for the first time on Aug 27th. We were extremely impressed with the whole experience. The staff were all welcoming, attentive, friendly and helpful. The food quality was top-notch with very generous portions. We would wholeheartedly recommend UNIKebab to anyone. We shall also be returning again.

I'd like to thank the team for a wonderful night out yesterday. The Service was amazing from everyone especially our waitress Maya. My daughter’s Birthday was made very special. Me and my family always have a really nice time here and we love the live music, it gives a feeling of being on holiday and adds a fun atmosphere. Thank you to the singer for the Birthday song it made my daughter’s night . Thank you! I don’t understand some people who complain about the service charge, I’ve been to many restaurants all over the UK and it’s normal unless you’re cheap and looking for a cheap fast food joint ? Even Greggs charge you service fee to dine in and you have probably never complained at them so have some respect for these hard working people who work hard to give us a wonderful experience. We look forward to going to Uni Kebab again soon.
