Uni Kebab in Southampton

Definitely a place to visit in Southampton. The Service was amazing from everyone and food was simply delicious especially the mixed platter of meats and the baklava dessert . My nan’s 80th Birthday was made very special.🎉🥂 Thank you to the singer for singing the Birthday song, it made my her night ! I’d also like the thank the lady owner for setting up our table with balloons and for her hospitality. We’re already looking forward to going to Uni Kebab again for my wife’s birthday.

We went for a calzone this evening as not local as had great experiences in the past . On first appearance the new look looked promising sadly that wasn't the case. We waited 50minutes and no food after being told numerous times its 5-10minutes away and seeing plenty of bagged orders going out the door. There were only 5/6 tables dining in and more staff to tables after just over 50minutes we paid for our drinks and left and will not be returning. It was ran better in the old venue with simple salad/menu and not to many staff confusing each other We never waited more than 15-20minutes. What would have been over £50 cost less than £10 and hungry customers.

It was a very nice evening. Live music and good food. I really like the atmosphere there.

Beautiful food, lovely service, great portion size, great prices, loved the little touches of free Turkish tea at the end, and the salad, dips and bread to start. The live music was so cute, and the restaurant is done out beautifully. I loved the fact that it looked like a take away when you looked right, but a beautiful restaurant when you looked left! Made us laugh so much as we were dressed up for a date night. Booked to go back there, bringing a friend. We’ve raved about it to everyone since going, so happy to be going back! Also see lots of Turkish people eating there, so I assume very authentic. Love it UPDATE: went again tonight for NYE and honestly blown away by the service and everything else. It’s like they picked the most genuinely lovely people from around the world to work there. Took the children this time and they loved it as much as us. Happy new year/Feliz Ano Nuevo!

Visited with family for my sons birthday, we all had a fabulous evening. Such a great atmosphere with the live music, staff are so friendly and welcoming and food was incredible! Can't wait to return. A hidden gem ! 🤩

One of those restaurants I’d like to go back multiple times! We were in town last night and had an early dinner here, left quite pleased with my overall experience. We ordered Chicken Parmo, Chicken Shish and Sarma Kuzu Bayti (Lamb). I’m not a lamb eater but it was made to absolute perfection, never tasted meat this fresh in the UK! Shish was also very nicely seasoned and Parmo was a bit mild to my taste however it tasted good. The portion size was pretty great, we didn’t realise at the time of ordering. They also serve complimentary salad, sauces and mezze platter which was fresh and delicious. They also had live music starting at 6:30, which I’m glad we were able to enjoy just before leaving 🤍 The staff were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable, especially Omar and Rameen. I’d be sure to visit again when I’m in Southampton and try more of the menu ☺️

Excellent food, the rice is particularly tasty. Music is a vibe, but a bit too loud. Service was slow to get the bill but the food came out fast and they gave us water quickly. Overall best kebab in Southampton, tried many others and none compare.

This place is a must on everyone’s bucket list, if not it should be! As soon as you enter you are greeted with smiles and warm welcomes from the manager and staff. Not only was the atmosphere bubbly but the live music really helped lift the spirit of the room, you could see everyone else was having a great time too as they were singing along and laughing. Our waiters were super attentive and kind especially Sumayah ,Eva and Rameen . Overall the food was great, we had a great night and my family and I were left excited for when we come back again.

Food is really really good. Has been coming here since 2015 and glad to see how far they've come. The owner is really friendly. The food has got pricier over the years but the portions are big and the quality is top notch. If you dine in you get salad, bread, and dips as starter, and theyre really good too! Some time they throw in some free tea and baklava too which are always nice. The music is a bit too loud for my taste.

Our waiter was lovely and very helpful, happy to help us with the menu's. Food was fresh and delicious 🤤 we ordered the chicken donner and lamb chops and we definitely recommend both. Will come back again soon!

I have eaten many times at Uni Kebab and have loved it. Yesterday I took a friend for lunch and I cannot believe how awful it was. Only 6 people in restaurant and firstly we were ignored by the only waiter until we asked to be served and then when our mixed shish arrived I'm sure it had been made hours before. The lamb and chicken were SO tough and over cooked, and the plates looked as if they were side plates, so small. £20 per person was totally outrageous for a dreadful dreadful meal. I doubt we will be returning unless its in the evening when the family are there and running the show

It's definitely the best sit-down kebab restaurant I have ever eaten in. Make this place a "bucket list" to eat in. You'll not be disappointed. Saying that, it is expensive but definitely worth it.

Fantastic Turkish restaurant. Food is always fresh, well prepared, and most importantly, delicious. The owners and staff are great. Always friendly and helpful. Really nice interior to the restaurant, also tables outside. Don't think of it as a Kebab shop, it is way, way more than that.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but this place truly deserves it. You know that feeling when a spot just clicks, and you leave already thinking about when you’ll be back? That was this experience for my wife and me. We found this gem while browsing online. Although we live nearby, I’d figured it was more of a spot for the younger university crowd. But after reading some reviews that suggested otherwise, we thought we’d give it a shot. When we arrived around 6 p.m., we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The place was a little bit busy but had plenty of reserved tables — and, let me tell you, I’ve never seen a restaurant fill up so fast. Within half an hour, it was packed, and a musician began playing live, setting a wonderful mood. It was very unexpected and made the evening even more special.Before we knew it, we were tapping our feet, whistling, and enjoying mocktails as the atmosphere came alive. The food was a real highlight. For starters, we had sucuk and halloumi, served with complimentary yogurt dips, fresh salad, a spicy salad, and warm bread — everything tasted spot-on. Then came the mains: I ordered lamb chops, and my wife had the chicken shish with bulgur. Those lamb chops were easily the best I’ve had, and I tried a bit of my wife’s chicken, which was equally delicious. We capped the meal with a baklava and ice cream to share, which was a perfect, sweet ending. The service was top-notch, from the host to the waitstaff. They genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. They even offered us tea before we left, which was a nice touch that ended the evening on a high note. Love everything about the restaurant! The food is great, price is reasonable, and the atmosphere and service are nice. I went there to catch-up with a friend. We ordered "Uni Special for Two" that turned out to be super delicious and has large portions. We ended up bringing most of it home :) I also love the Turkish tea (freshly brewed with cloves. It somehow tastes like home in Indonesia! 🥹🥰 To add the lovely experience, the restaurant is warm (literally!) and figuratively. Love the interiors. And more importantly, our waiter, Abu was fantastic 👍He was very helpful and friendly. We couldn't ask for more :) Thank you Uni Kebab for the quality food and the great service provided for us today!

First time visiting, amazing food and singer was great!

Umar and all the staff at Uni Kebab couldn’t have been more accommodating to a large group of us. The food was incredible, really generous portions, wonderfully flavourful. The live music, elevated the visit from a great meal with friends, to an unforgettable experience none of us were expecting.

Went here for a birthday dinner. Party of 13, we weren’t sat together and soon as we was there was being rushed to order and eat as we only had 2 hours slot. Just felt rushed. Food was cold, was annoying being reminded constantly that there was other people that was going to use the table.

Food was fantastic! Came here for my daughter's birthday and it was such a lovely experience. We had a sharing platter and the cold mezze. The waiter was very helpful and friendly and always attentive. Will come back for sure!

Ordered mixed shish and chicken skewer with kofta. This came with sides. Also ordered (not so) spicy salad. You also get a small selection of bread and different selction of sauces/hummus and a big plate of salsa/sauce. Kunafe for dessert. The chicken and kofta were delicious and cooked perfectly. Sadly, the lamb pieces were fatty and not tender at all. The cheese in the dessert was melted enough, but the flavour was nice. The place was clean and aesthetic was cute

I recently visited Uni Kebab Turkish restaurant in Southampton after reading numerous positive reviews online. Most people had a fantastic experience here, and I’m glad to say I was no exception. However, I did notice a few reviews mentioning customers removing the service charge, despite having no issues with the food or service. Personally, I find this a bit unfair. If everything about your visit was good, why undermine the hard work of the chefs, hosts, and wait staff by removing the service charge? In my opinion, it’s a way to show appreciation for their effort, especially when there’s no problem to address, I checked and it was clearly written on the menu so you know this before you order. As for my visit, it was excellent from start to finish. I agree with the majority of reviewers who praised the exceptional and attentive service. The food was well worth the hour-long drive, and the host, who I noticed mentioned in some negative reviews, was genuinely lovely. I believe those who removed the service charge may have done so simply to save a few pounds, and perhaps felt uncomfortable when the host—doing her job—checked if everything was alright. After all, her main concern is ensuring guests leave satisfied. In conclusion, Uni Kebab exceeded all of my expectations. The food, service, and overall atmosphere were outstanding, and the entire team truly deserves recognition for their hard work. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience

First time eating in UniKebab and the service from ANNA was excellent. Lamb steak was cold, over cooked and really chewy, Donor meat was really salty and quite standard. Bread was ok. Lady sitting on the entrance (owner/manager perhaps) refused to take the service charge off and had no customer service skills. In comparison to London Turkish restaurants I think they have a lot to learn. A relaxing, warm and calm atmosphere.

The food was beautifully cooked, full of flavor, and the portion was generous. Each bite was better than the last! The atmosphere was welcoming, and Anna’s recommendation made it even better. Best place in Southampton. Me and my family love coming here. Everyone is friendly and the food is very delicious. My favourite is the wombo combo platter with the lamb chops and ribs. Their milkshakes are also delicious and I usually don’t like milkshakes. Definitely try this place if your in the area.
