Uncle Sams in Portsmouth

I have been coming here for too many years to mention! Food has remained superb, all freshly cooked to order and very tasty. All Star meal is my go-to with a garlic burger for afters! If you like it hot have a chilli burger, and believe me it's hot!!! Here's to many more years of Uncle Sam's in Portsmouth.

Been going to uncle Sam's for years. Hands down best burgers intown

Remember as a regular visitor to Portsmouth my first Uncle Sam on 1987, Today it still as good as I was then. Beat the chains hands down.

This is just a very small takeaway with a few seats to sit inside if you want to. The key thing about uncle Sams burgers is that they seem to be of a much higher quality generally and definitely more delicious. I've been going for years and recommend the chilli burger.

I always come and have a chilli burger and chocolate milkshake whenever I am down from London. They are honestly the best burgers I have ever had. I also buy a pot of their chilli relish to take home with me. I’ve been coming to Uncle Sams for around 30 plus years- I was that they would open up a branch in London

You will never get a better chilli burger anyway and the fries are lovely.

when you want buy a burger, you have a certain expectation of what you want from the burger in order to satisfy that craving. you want that juicy meaty hit with a bit of seared caramelised fat crunch texture. you want that sweet mustardy sauce with some tomato ketchup tang in there. and you want the salad to be springy and fresh instead of soggy and slimy. for me, the burger i get from here satisfies all those points. you know what you want from your burger, this is exactly what you want.

I had ordered a chicken burger for my child she then complained her teeth was cold,I then tried the chicken burger my self and was cold enough to make my teeth shiver. A couple minutes later after calling the store she was sick. I then had called the restaurant and complained to the store and they were rude "it's not my problem what do you expext me to do about it' then hubg the phone up. I had no result in solving the problem in them saying its not there problem contact uber eats highly disappointed as have been recommended by many people.

The best place for a burger in Portsmouth. Not designed for eat in so atmosphere isn't part of the experience. The food is excellent.

Omg the food is good here! Can't fault it. Hot and tasty burgers, chips are nice and crispy and hot, lovely thick milkshakes full of flavour. (Puts BK and MacD to shame, they aren't what they used to be.) Quick friendly service and great vegetarian selections too. Prices are reasonable, nothing bad to say about Uncle Sam's. Just wish there was one a bit closer to home, our closest one is a 20 drive away.

Loved it food was hot and not to expensive yummy yum yum is all I can say and services was great friendly smiling and chatty to thank you while I waited.

I'd recommend the chicken burger. It was really good and juicy inside. Normally most fast food restaurants have dry burgers, especially the chicken burgers but this one was really good

I’ve heard really good things about uncle Sam’s and know it’s been around a while so thought I’d give it a go.... To start with my friends coke was flat, which was disappointing. I ordered a strawberry milkshake which was average at best, and on the smaller side. The chips are very bland and rather tasteless. The burger was the best bit, but still only slightly better than Burger King in terms of quality. I was also still hungry after despite ordering the largest meal on the menu, and so visited my local takeaway after. Overall for £9 a rather disappointing experience unfortunately.

The best cheese burger in the UK

Double chilli burger is my absolute fave burger from any other. All cooked to order and definitely worth the wait.

We travelled from Eastleigh to Portsmouth today (a 48 mile round trip) just to visit Uncle Sam's it's that good. I've probably visited most of their shops as when I want a burger and a triple thick shake I make straight for the nearest. Unfortunately they never had the apple pies today but I'm happy to forgive that as long as they restock soon. If you have never tried Uncle Sam's then make it top of your list and you will never go near MC Donald's or burger king again.

Had to be the BEST burger place around! I have been coming into Uncle Sams since I had teeth in my face! Unforgettable smell and taste! Classic burger choices,great milkshakes! Everytime I return to pompey i always head in and see Jane and the team! Even had my mum get three double garlic burgers smuggle them back through customs to Belfast! One of a kind place!!

Well I have been ordering an original burger meal each time I have visited for over 42 years, tastes as good as it does now as it did then, same owner, same quality and friendly service. Best burgers to be had full stop!

I grew up round here and uncle sams was my pretty much a daily visit on our motor bikes ! Uncle Sams is 40 years old in November ! I live in Gloucester now , 35 years later and I drive there if we are going anywhere in a 20 mile radius , just to visit uncle sams , today was my first visit since lockdown drive from Charfield south glos for double chilli burger ! My mouth watering the whole 2 hour journey , I take it to portsdown hill and have to fight a massive urge not to eat it on that 10 minute journey ! It was heaven today as every time ! Thank you for being there 40 years on ! We try to get to uncle sams at least 4 times a year ! And I got some chilli sauce for my own burgers , they are good but the sauce reminds me of the best burgers in the universe !

Uncle Sam's serves good food, there is a good selection for all tastes available. There's a small seating area inside so you can eat and go. Sadly no toilets available. Bus stop right outside who are travelling in to town.

Quite simply the best burger bar ever. The burgers are fresh tasty and satisying. My kids love there chicken burgers. The price is a little dear but it's worth it. Been going here for over 20 years now. 😍🍔🇬🇧

If you want a fresh, grilled, hot meal then come here. This is the best place I have ever had a burger in. Card and cash payments also do a delivery service within a mile radius. Always friendly,helpful and great service.

I only got a cheese burger while waiting for a bus and it was absolutely delicious, so much nicer than a McDonald's, the lettuce and red onion was a nice touch and fresh, i got a hot chocolate in there today, also waiting for a bus (story of my life) and freezing, it was lush, warmed me right up, the staff are really friendly and attentive, I haven't had the pleasure of eating in but nice relaxing atmosphere. Whatever you're doing Uncle Sams, you're doing it right. Brilliant

ordered hawian double burger with large chips and burger and chips + milkshake...the order was crammed into a tiny paper bag(must be cutbacks) the burger was small and tasteless one measly tiny slice of pineapple a pinch of onion as well as a totally squashed greasy mess what was once a burger bun at some point 🤮 the chips were bang average..and they had the nerve to charge me £14.50 for that mess not even a car boot burger was this bad or this price...basically go to mcdonalds or a kebeb shop and save yourself money....

It's ok nothing to get excited about. I ordered a chilli burger expecting there to be bits of chilli mixed in the burger and all it was a chilli paste like you get on a kebab. Won't be hurrying back
