Umami Street Food in Portsmouth

popped in here for lunch the other day with a friend and it was great! the food is amazing but very affordable. We were served by the lovely Crow who was really friendly and provided great customer service:) Definitely an asset to the team! Will be back 100%

Absolutely amazing burgers. Got the Pittsburgh Burger and my girlfriend got the Humble Burger which is a vegetarian option. Both were outstanding and delicious. This is the second time we've come and both times were great. Service is fantastic, atmosphere is comfy, cozy and delightful👌 Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Thanks Umami Street Food for a great meal every time🙌🍻

Great interior but close to the bathroom it smells and doesn't look clean . The service was quite great and modern. Overall, i recommend UMAMI .

The food was absolutely brilliant! Me and my daughter are a big fan of the Lebanese sauce-can’t find that anywhere in Portsmouth. It’s always a plus to be served by Crow and Sam’s with their bubbly smile :)

Good food. Sweet potatoes are nice love it with chicken and some corns just wish they will give customers options to air fry their potatoes than oil. My opinion though 😊

We visit Umami on match days and my boys love the kids chicken strips and chicken burger. The Primal Burger alone is worth the visit, huge burger packed full of flavour.

For a casual meal, Umami Portsmouth is certainly worth a shot. Helpful team, consistent quality food and rapid service all help make this a reliable good choice. Parking on street nearby can be challenging at peak times but persist and you can usually find 1 or 2 hours for free.

The food is still delicious, however, the restaurant does not have the same appeal as it used to. The place feels unclean, the portions are smaller, and the menu has been reduced. It is evident that they have had to cut corners, although the prices have not gone up significantly. It's a shame because this restaurant used to be one of our favourite places to go for a quick treat. However, it is still way better than Nando's!!!

Way better than Nandi for taste and moist chicken. Much bigger portions for sides than Nandos.

Staff was lovely especially Venn was helpful and kind. We’ve tried umami burger and falafel wrap they’re delicious also the fries were crispy and tasty. If you can come before 16:30 in weekdays lunch deals are great on price. Definitely come back again.

I’m a veggie and I really enjoyed my moving mountains burger 🤌🏼 The team that work here are lovely and friendly. The manager brought out dates for my family to break their fast which I thought was very thoughtful. Great value for money too. I’d recommend.

It was my second time visiting Portsmouth and my friend decided to drive me to Umami. Upon seeing the restaurant through the passenger window of the car, I thought to myself… “This place isn’t that busy, it looks dusty and the food is most likely going to be garbage” 😐 We stepped out of the car, walked up in to the restaurant and sat at the table closest to the window. And from what I can remember l, we needed to order at the desk. I’m not going lie. The place kinda had a nice vibe to it although, I was anticipating how the food was going to come. About 15 - 20 mins later the staff brought the food over to us. I leant forward to get a closer look at the grub and to my surprise the chicken wings and kebabs actually didn’t look too bad. 🤨 The food looked well cooked but a little bit saucy for my liking. I picked up one of the piping hot chicken wings and took a bite…then another…and another. To my surprise “It was actually better than o thought it would be” 😌 I didn’t take much pictures of the food when it arrived. But I did manage to snap a few shots of the ashes of the chicken.🍗 R.I.P Would I recommend this place to others…? Yeah, why not. The restaurant had nice settings, the music was a little bit loud. However the food was better than I expected and seemed to be on point! (In my opinion) I would suggest giving it a try if you ever visit Portsmouth, it might be the best restaurant this place has to offer…😉

Always find the staff really friendly and efficient - Daria is extra smiley and fun - and the food is seriously tasty. Working out way through the menu: I do recommend the Lebanese salad and the wings platter sharing plate.

I had the whole chicken marinated in a medium piri piri flavouring, the chicken was absolutely delicious, the best I've had by a country mile. It was well presented and still hot, and delivered within the given time. Looking forward to re-ordering and even popping in for a sit down meal. AAA+++

Everything about this restaurant is perfect the food, customer service, cleanliness, atmosphere and so on. The main thing that sparked me was the burgers, fries and chicken wing. There is sooo much flavor involved and I will definitely come again. THANK YOU SO MUCH UMAMI FOR THE AMAZING AND DELICIOUS FOOD.

The food was amazing! I had a gold burger and it may have been one of the best I've ever had, nice and juicy! Food is halal as well. But the most outstanding part of the night was my server Crow, they were so kind, respectful and accommodating. I was anxious going in here for the first time. I didn't really know what to expect, yet they made me feel right at home! They helped me with compiling my order and were quick to serve as well. Overall a 10/10 experience.

Great food. Our server Crow was swift and brought our food speedy and still hot. If you come here you must order their milkshakes.

I had a very pleasant experience having a mid-week lunch at Umami Street Food, Portsmouth and absolutely Highly recommend it! The food (Lamb Kabsa Meal & Lebanese Salad) were absolutely D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S , starting with the very appealing & colourful look, the spices, the aromas and the flavour... !! We really enjoyed our lebanese feast . Great compliments to Veng for a fantastic costumer service. It was our first time here and we will definitely return (many times!).

We come to umami at least twice a month, we always enjoy lovely food. The staff are attentive, friendly and polite. Service is very good. We have never been disappointed. Today we were served by Huma and again as usual we had the same experience.

I always come to visit my son and we have our lunch and they always have amazing service and attitude. The food is honestly the best thing. It arrives fast with no delays. Huma is a fantastic waitress she's always asking if there is anything we need and is very fast to get us what we need.

The food is absolutely fantastic and the service couldn’t have been any better! Tasty food and good ambience. Halal menu. Huma has served us very well. She was kind and diligent in her service. Kids can eat free. Lunch deals run between 12-4:30 and cost less than 10£. You can park in nearby street for 3 hours.

Copy of Nando’s. The owner is not original and he’s rude. You get better customer service in a toilet From the guy who sells you refreshments! Under paid staff and expensive food you would think you’re eating edible gold. Not worth it guys.

Umami never disappoints. Their menu is perfect for lunch or dinner. Varied selection with plenty of add-ons available. If you are dining in you can get unlimited soft drink refills. Prices are very fair considering the quality of the food. Staff are lovely and the interior of the restaurant is cosy. Not to be missed.
