Probably the best fish and chips in Portsmouth, infact they are!! Never have a bad meal, staff are lovely and the prices very reasonably ... I'll be back again and again and again 🦈 ❤️

I failed using delivaroo to order the chips for my daughter I phoned the shop the lady was so kind to send out chips. Also she had tried to call prior to check but I missed the call. The fish is piping hot and so tasty 😋 my daughter is happy

Three large cod and three large chips £48 90 through just eat, Chips mediocre, Three cod in Two boxes, One box lovely large cod the other box Two much smaller cod and the batter was doughy definitely not worth the money.

Looks amazing and has been recommended, yet to visit as just moved to the area Looking forward to it 😀

After a long day at work and miserable weather, we decided fish and chips would go down well. Given that we are a port city, with a fishing industry (albeit small), the fish and chips available in Portsmouth really is quite poor. Until now that is…………The food from here was fantastic, proper sized pieces of well cooked cod and lovely chips. According to my wife, the team in here were also amazingly friendly, all backed by a 5 star food hygiene rating - a real hidden gem! We both said that arguably these were the best fish and chips that we have ever had in Portsmouth, by a very long way. We will happily return and would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks team and keep up the good work!

First time getting good here - always a little apprehensive when trying a new place. Probably the cleanest chippy I’ve ever been in😂 served by a super smiley, friendly lady. Food was very quick although I’m happy to wait and there were many orders ahead. The batter was super! Crunchy, crispy, not greasy and surprisingly light for chippy batter. Chips were good too! Decent priced and a good meal. Definitely will be back!

Not the same as it was, chips are not the same anymore (as in the way they are cut, used be be real chunky chips) portion size has noticeably reduced (chips), your boxes may be bigger but our plates are the same size and do not lie, fish is spot on, prices have rocketed. £27 delivered for 2 x large cod and 1 x large chips (and a curry sauce), same meal was £21 18/24mths ago (and better), nearly 30% increase?

Brilliant independent fish and chip shop.

We visited The Crispy Cod on 26th May 2023. Excellent takeaway fish and chips. The haddock portions were large, fresh and cooked to order. They were coated in a crisp and tasty batter. Chips were good and plentiful.

I have had pleasant experience having their chicken burgers but this time it was not very great getting the fully oil soake flaky onion rings. I hope the service can be improved in this area.

After being disappointed a few times by Deep Blue on the main road we thought we'd give this place a try. It's much better! It appears to be a family run business so they actually care about what they're doing. For us it's just right to pick up some Fish and Chips on the way to our nearby allotment. The food is good and not as pricey as Deep Blue. The variety on offer is better too.

Very good portion size, crispy batter, excellent service either by web or phone. Delivery service is superb. Don’t forget when waiting for your order, you’re not the only one who has ordered food. Be patient, it’s worth the wait.

My first time using this fish and chip shop and will become my new go-to. This is the cleanest fish and chip shop I have ever seen! The pea fritter was amazing (potentially the best I’ve had), portions very generous and all of the staff super lovely. Thank you!

Place was jiving at 5 in the evening. People lined up to order and to grab their phone orders. Despite the busy flow, the service was a delight and the food was timely and cooked to order - there wasn't a mountain of fish sitting under the heat lamp. The prices were great, portions large, and the food was top notch - the strawberry shake I got was delicious too! Brilliant chippy :)

Went to watch Portsmouth, not may good places around the ground?, found this gem next to a Chinese and kebab house, 2 excellent portions of fish and chips, skinless, freshly cooked, perfect

The best fish n chips I EVER had. Size of the cod- is huge!!! Food is lovely, staff is really friendly, front of the shop is clean,inside clean.Loads of options to choose from. Everything is being cooked from fresh!!! Even chips!!! Absolutely amazing!!! I will definitely will be going back.

My husband and I recently discovered your fish and chip shop and really enjoyed our meal. We drive pass a well known chippy because we feel your fish is so much more tastier, and the chips have crunch and isn’t greasy.

ordered online at 17.25 for a 18.00 pickup, Large Cod and a small chips. Simple enough and straightforward, as was payment. Arrived at 18.02, no problem at all, very polite young lady, speedy service, boxed up and on my way at 18.04. Excellent so far. Oh dear, served up at home, the fish was beautiful ... batter great, but the chips ..... looked like refried, dry, leathery leftovers from lunchtime. Certainly not the crisp attractive chips that I remembered from a previous visit some time back. What a shame. Sorry, but it'll now be a while before I return ... if ever. So many nowadays cutting corners at the cost of quality. Never mind, there's always the kebab.

Very friendly and helpful service and good value for your money

Absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated this evening in particular the rude woman I spoke to on the phone. I ordered a meal to be delivered and it popped up collection , which I was unable to do. Then received a call from the obnoxious woman telling me i would still be charged £22 which is non refundable. I loved the food i have had on previous occasions but I will never use you again due to the aforementioned. If you are going to charge me for something i haven't received then that is tantamount to theft. So watch this space

Beautiful fresh fish, lovely batter, perfect chips, great portion sizes and not at all greasy. We have tried many chippys in Portsmouth and none have been as good. Super-fast delivery too. :)

Chips and pineapple fritters are *chefs kiss* Onion ring portions are huge too and proper homemade onion rings! My family enjoy the fish and say it's very nice. Pleeeeease invest in doing vegan/veggie battered sausages!!! Nowhere in Portsmouth does them so you'll be a godsend for us all in Portsmouth. You'll have a new range of customers flock to you to be able to enjoy a battered sausage again. Only place I've ever found that does them nearby is Whistlers in Westbourne. Please please pleeeeeease!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Was recommended this place and we tied it out yesterday.My test in a place like this is always firstly the quality of the batter.Here it was perfect., a light golden colour with a crispy texture. Excellent chips and portion size. Best in town!

Excellent! Went there today for the first time on a recommendation. It was all was I told and more. The fishcake and the fish are fresh and clearly cooed in clean quality oil. The fish batter was a lovely light yellow crispy batter exactly how it should be. Unlike other places in town. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Just bought some fish and chips sadly nothing special my fish was warm and the chips were numerous shapes with lots of black eyes sorry definitely not worth the money.
