Tynewydd in The Vale of Glamorgan

arrived at 12pm table of 15 preordered all meals we was not served till 2pm (very disappointed) and some of the meals was bland.

Great Sunday dinner at a very reasonable price and then another 30% off service excellent happy days be back next week😉

Such a lovely spot, just down the road from us. We’ve lived here for 6+ years and this is the first time we’ve tried here. Very impressed and will definitely be back. Food was delicious, hot and good portions. Staff were friendly and quick. 10/10

We booked a `Wake` gathering in the pub, and a buffet. I have to say all of our guests were impressed with the buffet and with the hospitality shown to us. We very much appreciate what was done for us on a sad day. Thank you!

Booked the Tynewydd Inn for my mother’s wake as it is very close to the cemetery. The manager was able to section off an area of the lounge bar for our private use and provided an excellent buffet. We also had use of the beer garden. Very comfortable and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend as a function venue.

5 stars for the Tynewydd, there was a group of 14 of us and every meal was spot on. Bar service was efficient, they have a pool table, skittles alley and darts. Well worth a stop over or night out.

What a lovely find! Gorgeous Sunday lunch and desert. Friendly and attentive staff. Really enjoyed our visit here. Highly recommend.

Sadly, there was no food on our last visit, an excellent atmosphere with the bingo.

Service was prompt and the food was good. The staff were great and attentive to our grandchild, who can get bored quite quickly.

Our first visit to a pub for ages. We weren't expecting anything great - maybe something akin to weatherspoons. But boy am I glad to be proved so wrong, the food was incredible, promptly delivered, well proportioned and just delicious. The staff where all friendly and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxed. I can't wait to go again to be able to try out more items on the menu!

Family meal for mine and sisters birthday, there was 12 of us eating. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Ordering food was quick and easy you pay at the bar. Prices were very reasonable. All food came out at the same time and we didn’t have to wait long at all. Food was piping hot and plenty of it.All the staff were friendly and came over to check everything was ok with meals. We will definitely be back.

We decided on a chicken and bacon salad And this did not disappoint it was awesome It was full to the Brim of salad with chicken and bacon and lots of dressing

Went here to take my mum for lunch for her birthday yesterday. When I ordered we were told that food would be 30-45 minutes. That wasn't a problem. We waited 1hr and 15 minutes and when I asked, they said it would be another 10-15minutes. I had to ask for a refund and we left without eating.

Really great food with a lovely sea view and a friendly atmosphere. Plus they allow dogs in which is a plus for me

Well.... For two burgers and a portion of onion ring it took over and hour and 20 mins!! Completely understood a 45min wait when i order due to a table of 10 infront of us. However an hour and 20 mins is abit extreme. Clearly not planned the bank holiday rota right. The food was nice but very disappointing waiting for so long

More miss than hit. 1st week I had the chicken kebab and it was stunning. So tasty. 2nd week I had a steak blue. Came out medium. Warm at best. Tasteless as hadnt been seasoned during the cooking process. Salad wilted where had been left under the hot light too long. Yesterday had chicken tikka. Rice was cold and tikka luke warm. Really need to start probing the food before leaving the kitchen. Can't say will be back in a hurry for food.

Visited here Wednesday evening. There were 3 of us planning to have a few drinks and a meal. Pub was very quiet so could see there would be no problem getting a table. We ordered our drinks and it was only after the bar man had poured our drinks did he ask if we had a booking. We advised him no so he then told us the kitchen closed at 7 unless we had booked a table! They currently have a 30 % offer on meals but nowhere on there does if state that booking is required or kitchen closes at 7! I have since noted the owners previous reply to another review advising that they revert to bookings only if the kitchen is very busy but no way was this the case on Wednesday as the place was virtually empty! Would have also appreciated being told this before we ordered our drinks as we ended up leaving these to find somewhere else to eat! Very disappointing customer service.

Service very rushed my husbands prawn cocktail and fish and chips came at the same time the waitress just slammed them down and rushed off no one came to ask was everything ok? My surf and turf steak was way overdone and tough even tho I asked for medium

As this was an offer of 30% off we tried it. Arrived at 12.50 and told 45 mins wait. It was an hour, and in the meantime several people came in and exited again because it was then 1.5 hrs wait. Place was good, staff good and food was good pub grub. If you have an offer on then maybe you should have the staff to cope with the increase in custom.

Only taking food orders if you’ve booked a table. Shocking

Nice "Local feel" pub. Staff were very cheerful and attentive, loads of TVs if you want to watch the sport AND Dog friendly so they can come in and also be pampered by the staff! Just make sure if you drive, you enter the reg into the parking system!

Always have a lovely time when we come here, really enjoy bingo night.. staff is lovely nothing is ever to much trouble for them and always willing to help if they can but one staff member Leilah always serving with a smile and very professional in her job.. The food is lovely and I am the fussiest to eat out and never have any complaints but normally I would for sure so have to say massive thanks to the Chef’s for there food and good work in the kitchen! Tony cooks a very mean medium rare 🥩 mmmm 😋 Louis the landlord has done an amazing job bringing the pub back to life and being the regulars back and new customers also.. We went to the Tynewydd last Monday 4th March and had an excellent meal. The food is always of exceptional quality. The Manager, Lewis is always sociable and friendly and does his very best to ensure that our meals are to our expectation. We tend to go there once a week for a lunchtime meal. Well worth a visit!!

We usually love the Tinny however it was our mistake to go on a Saturday night. Disco music blaring out and not many people. I think we'll be sticking to eating and leaving from now on.
