It's a nice traditional pub with a shout out in Gavin and Stacey. There's alot of history in The Park and its recently been refurbished so it's looking good! I've given the food a 5 star but I haven't tried it if they do food, just didn't want to tarnish their score with a 0. The drinks are affordable and they show sporting events. They also have live music regularly and have a skittles lane. The beer garden is lovely now it's all done up and there's an up-stairs area. All in all, a nice little local.

Lovely venue with excellent music

I would give it less than 1 star if I could. The place allows anyone and everyone to drink and then drive themselves home, that’s clearly not safe. They don’t tell people to be quiet and don’t keep the place, surroundings and atmosphere under control. For example, at 10:20pm, everyone from that pub is shouting and screaming, while still drinking as much as possible (and yes that IS under the pub staff’s control). You can hear the place from streets away, and if you use common knowledge and the tiniest bit of empathy, you’d understand how irritating, tiring and irresponsible that is. SORT IT OUT!!

Had a 50th birthday party at the Park for my husband. We hired the back bar. Staff were so helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this place for either a good night out or hire the back bar for a birthday party. Will definitely use them again. 👍🏻

Excellent pub for sports and for having a great time.

We stopped here to watch the rugby while in Barry. Very busy but great atmosphere in a massive pub. The cask ale was really good, with 3/4 hand pumps on. They weren't doing food but allowed us to bring chips in from the local chip shop which was great. Really quick and friendly service

My local and favourite pub in Barry. Always a warm welcome, friendly staff who get to know everyone’s name and always ask how you are. They also have great events with something going on most weeks whether is live bands, karaoke, quiz, etc. as well as showing all the sport. They’ve had a recent refurb and it looks amazing. This pub has something for everyone - proper pub atmosphere at the front with a quiet bar at the back and function/pool room upstairs. Gorgeous, large beer garden out the back for the summer months. 10/10 would recommend! In my eyes, the heart of Barry.

Lovely pub! Recently refurbished, new pool table up stairs, Dart boards, Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Gorgeous new beer garden. All the sports showing here. On some nights you get Live bands, karaoke, they also put on games for occasions like Halloween etc! Fantastic place to relax and have a drink or 3!!

Came here as an out of towner and left feeling like a local. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere and staff. And the fresh pizzas cooking in the Al fresco kitchen is a fabulous addition. Highly recommended!

Lovely pub, numerous rooms so fit for whatever purpose you're after. A loud bar, upstairs pool room, dart boards, or a quieter back lounge. Good beer garden and shows all the sports. Lush bar staff who are really friendly

Great Saturday night at the local pub

Not a bad pub good ales and lagers clean tidy great bar staff.Why oh why always horse racing on the tv when there is golf sports etc.A lot of bad language we just don’t need it and vaping but nothing is done about it why not Brains management take note.Also grab handles for the elderly when you’re using the small room of the bar.Once the refurb is completed let’s see if the manger ups his game??? Or carries on as normal watch this space.

I love the Park. Always a good atmosphere, especially for the sport. You don't get many pubs where you can just banter with the bloke queueing at the bar next to you. We were here for the rugby but then wanted to watch the football after, but there was another rugby game, so they put the football on upstairs just for us. We had the whole bar to ourselves! Which was great because then we could watch West Ham without the shame of people knowing we're watching West Ham. One downside was the choice of beers. No Barry's Island IPA. Surley that's a crime in Barry?

Nice traditional 'wet' pub - no food served here. Good selection of draught beers, ales and a few ciders. Beer garden and skittle alley out the the back. Function room upstairs that has regular live music.

Visited Barry Island and popped into this pub they allow dogs in really friendly staff definitely recommend 👌

A long standing traditional pub with friendly staff. If you are looking for a simple beer choice, good conversation in a simple local pub setting, the Park is for you. If you are looking for a trendy gastro pub, look elsewhere.

Lovely old pub. We went to a party which was held up stairs. The barmaid was amazing with the drink service and nothing was too much trouble for her . Forgot to get her name but a big Thank you

I know this local "haunt" very well, but not been there for a couple of years. Interesting place - known as a "scoring" zone (not Soccer) if you know what I mean. Service was not geared to the casual client, guest or tourista, but more suited to the frequent casual and heavy drinkers in the evenings and weekends. "It's a local's local for local people - and there's nothing for the likes of you other lot here!!!" I would get served in about 15 to 20 mins, local's locals service in 1 to 3 mins. But it is what it is. Beer was always perfect cellar temperature, lagers cold and refreshing so the beverages were top notch and the range of beers excellent. The reason I gave this 2 of 5 stars were for the reasons above - huge problem with any local bar, and the fact it's very edgy and iffy as bars go. It just has that atmosphere that if I visited in uniform, half the bar would run out the back door or jump through windows. Photos of half eaten pizza and cheese fries with close-ups of glasses of beer says it all. Gritty Pub !!!

Cheap and cheerful, good place to watch a game. A bit dirty and rough, but don't expect much out of the park and you'll have a great time. Service is good. Men's room stinks up that corner of the building.

It is as it has always been. A local pub. Hopefully this will never change. This is not a pub to bring children or to go on a date. This is not a pub to come and have food. This is a pub where you go and drink. Let it stay that way.

Busy Sat night as usual whenever I visit. Nice quiet back room but you have to carry your beer through (what may seem like an obstacle course) from the main bar! Wet floor in gents toilets but didn't investigate further to see if cause was sink or urinal!!!

Unusual for these days - the pub does not serve food. Pleasant welcoming and friendly bar staff, six ales on offer - good. Not the most comfortable seating for those who are not vertically challenged (low wooden back support). Toilets need updating. Expect very colourful language from clientele.

I have been drinking here since I was 18 and I love it here. Atmosphere is brilliant and never any trouble. Staff are friendly and helpful. Brilliant pub to visit even if just a flying visit or a night out to watch a band or live sport.

Set on a main street but quite clean and tidy. Went for an acoustic night but felt the room was a bit small for it

Good music venue but the room is upstairs, it has a bar. Good Rock Bands play here, a large room with plenty of standing space and seating around the perimeter. The down side is no men's loo upstairs and the downstairs hallway always is smelling of urine.

No carling or stella on tap. WTF!! and not cheap either I thought they have charged me for the glasses aswell!

It gets worse, no response from the company to my e-mail that I sent, and now on the 22/12/12 no heating in the back lounge! Randoms, sorry people that only manage to find this Pub on holidays, get more acknowledgement than the £2k we put in the coffers each year! A day later, and even the randoms are complaining about the uphostelry! Refurb, what refurb, so welcome to the Park.
