Lovely brunch today, eggs Benedict are gorgeous

Had 2 coffees and toast service was good so was toast and coffee

We had afternoon tea here and the food was lovely and lots included. However, today I was disappointed as not once did anyone come back and ask if we wanted further tea or coffee ( which are the only drinks included). When have been to other afternoon teas we have always been offered unlimited tea/coffee especially as this is quite an expensive afternoon tea. They add 12.5 percent service charge which I think we should have reduced or taken off because no one checked everything was ok we were just served our food/drink and left to it. We were also in a small table that usually sits 2 and there were 3 of us so not much room to put the cups and food. Felt we were shoved in the corner to get more people in. I have given 4 stars as food was good but serviced lacked very much today

We had a lovely visit for a family brunch. We were really well looked after and everyone was very friendly. The food was really tasty and well presented. It was delicious. We were sorry we did not have room for the beautiful cakes but will have to pay another visit to taste those.

What would have been a lovely trip was spoiled by the entitlement of one of the members of the staff. Whilst asking for the bill, I asked for the discretionary service charge to be taken off and said that I would pay the tip in cash. Minutes later, a male member of the team came to take payment and was court, abrasive and clearly not happy. It was a shame that this happened because he saw no service charge included. I mentioned my disappointment about this to a female member of staff a few minutes later.

Excellent food . Very good service . No complaints . Plus you can have a shop around the garden centre afterwards.

Lovely staff and amazing food for the breakfast. Always busy as the quality is so high. Staff were very friendly and there is always a lovely buzz about the place. Couldn't ask for more.

Having tried many other restaurants we have decided that this one is where we will meet up for future birthday celebrations. Mutually inconvenient but well worth the journey and we’ve never been disappointed with the food or the service. Definitely need to book ahead as it’s always very busy.

We enjoyed a belated birthday lunch with traditional fish and chips, lovely crisp batter and chunky chips,homemade tartar sauce and mushy peas made just right and finished with a chocolate Maltesers cheesecake,we both were agreed a fabulous meal better than many restaurants we've been to,service was excellent and friendly the dining area clean and bright,I was not surprised at how busy they are or by how many guests were well known to the start good customer service pays,thank you for a most enjoyable experience and we shall return.

Nice decor etc, small restaurant in a Garden centre. Overpriced food, very average. Ordered garlic prawns. Maximum of 10 prawns in shells, garlic dip in small pot, frozen tasteless chips, a lot of mixed leaf salad 1 slice of cucumbrt sliced, 1 cherry tomato sliced cost £17 Disappointing

Had an excellent lunch today I had the chicken and mushroom pie it was delicious. The serving staff were friendly and efficient

A friend and I enjoyed a fabulous lunch here. So nice to see a good selection of vegetarian options - the butternut squash and leek gratin was delicious! We would have loved to have tried a dessert as they sounded amazing, but we were simply too full. Staff were very friendly and service was good, especially as the place was so busy. Absolutely no complaints - will be back (maybe when the pretty courtyard is open again and we can sit outside!)

Book for cream tea which we have done on a number of occasions albeit not recently. Have to say slightly disappointed this time round. Not great service, and the smallest pot of cream I've ever been served at what is called a cream tea. Cold coffee too.

An amazing Victorian afternoon tea at the Twig & Spoon. The decor was lovely in keeping with the Victorian Christmas theme. The afternoon tea menu was excellent. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Will diffinetly return.

Had a lovely Christmas Lunch. The food as always was excellent and the restaurant is warm and welcoming with all the Christmas decorations. Great atmosphere and tables laid with place names and crackers etc. The staff are so attentive and friendly. Returning next week for a repeat but with other friends. Highly recommend.

Just had xmas dinner with friends. The food was excellent and hot. The staff could not be more helpful at a very busy time for them. Would definitely recommend.

Visited several times before and always good. Pre-booked to ensure table for breakfast and was seated opposite the coffee machine or was it the staff canteen! Plenty of space in main area and other customers who hadn't pre-booked were seated there so there was space available. At least 4 members of staff throughout our visit were talking and laughing so loud we couldn't have our own conversation which completely ruined our visit. Very disappointed

Attended for Christmas lunch with 3 friends. The atmosphere, table decorations, food and service was exceptional. We could not have been made more welcome. Thank you all for a fantastic lunch.

I visited with a friend for the Victorian Afternoon Tea, the whole experience was so magical the tea room was a feast for the eyes and was so so Christmassy! The afternoon tea itself was also just as great, the sandwich fillings were really tasty and better than some 5* London hotels, the scones were yummy and sweet treats delicious. It was quite ££ for a local afternoon tea once service was included but the quality was worth it.

Today we were served a delicious Christmas Lunch consisting of 3 courses of well cooked, high quality ingredients. The service and the organisation for all the different choices on the menu was second to none and matched by the smiling service and consistently warm welcome. We always love eating at the Twig & Spoon and look forward to returning.

Always been a pleasure to visit the Twig and Spoon. Visited today for Victorian Christmas Brunch and was really disappointed. Selection of pastries consisted of two miniature pastries. One each. Two mouthfuls. We asked for more and were brought two more. A selection is when you are given the choice and amount. We waited at least half an hour for coffee and kept asking, it was only when we overheard a staff member say there was a problem with the machine. Why couldn’t this be relayed to the public ( these things happen). It would have been nice to have been offered a complimentary apple or orange juice. The coffees did finally arrive. The actual breakfast was lovely and the surroundings were beautiful. The poor lady who got hit on the head with the lights didn’t think so though. I definitely wouldn’t book this again.

Festive afternoon tea - we have come for afternoon tea for Christmas for a good few years and always loved it but this year I would have to say the price was a rip off after spending £64 on just afternoon tea for me and my husband and then getting a service charge added totalling £70 we would say this year was not worth it all in all we had 4 finger slices each a couple of small cakes and a yogurt tea and filter coffee ! As much as the restaurant is beautiful we feel we should have been asked if any more sandwich’s were needed as they were! Would have rather of had a proper lunch in the restaurant for that amount of money . Picture is it for two people

Used this a few times now and it's pretty friendly with nice food, I'd like to see a few slightly healthier dishes on the menu. I just want to eat all the lovely cakes and so on. Atmosphere? Well it's between a posh café and a restaurant really I think. If they are aiming to project a different profile I am unsure what that would be. However, it's a perfectly good eatery at a garden centre at the end of the day.

Very helpful staff, found us a table as we didnt think about booking. Quick service with getting us coffee and cake but it soon got very busy and we felt a bit forgotten, needing to ask for a second coffee, the bill and also waiting to pay at the till, very friendly staff but could maybe do with an extra person. Guess you cant predict how busy you are going to be.

Manager abrupt and unwelcoming. Staff took forever to clear plates with my young children wanting to go. Waitress very good at standing at the till and looking the wrong way despite not actually doing anything on the till. Manager badly needs a holiday.

Tea pot of tea and cake to share first class

Been here a few times for brunch (meal between breakfast and lunch for you non-brits). Fabulous large breakfasts on menu which they are happy for you too add extra items too. Staff are attentive and helpful. Once you a finished with your meal exit is past the cake cabinet, i have yet to leave this establishment without buying 1-2 of their amazing cakes for later on. I whole heartedly recommend the twig and spoon.

Lovely staff, looked after very well by the Supervisor, Chef and Danielle with all my dietary requirements :-) Lots of GF and Veggie options available and they were more than happy to adapt meals to ensure I could eat - I left with a very full happy belly :-)

Booked afternoon tea for 3, for my mums birthday. My aunty couldn't come at the last minute (train strike made it impossible) but I was still charged for three people (had to have the food boxed up). Know it's all made fresh etc but in a cafe where these things are served all the time...?! Also, poor waitress dropped our first lot of food on the floor (total accident poor lady) so they had to re-do two portions from scratch again, they could have used the one portion I'd had to pay for and not charge me, but no I still had to pay for 3. Just felt ever so slightly money grabbing. Do realise times are hard for everyone though, and would def go back. If I'm not barred!

We had a lovely brunch for 10 at Twig & Spoon on Sunday. They were very accommodating when we had 2 more than we booked for and very child friendly. Our only suggestion would be the addition of some pancakes and/or crumpets for a touch of sweetness to the menu!

We have become regulars over the last year or so., (Covid permitting.)The food is excellent ,staff really nice and helpful . Beautifully decorated recently , just a nice place to eat quality , locally sourced ingredients that just taste better for it. It’s obvious that behind the scenes so much hard work , planning and expense went into keeping going through the last year. Definitely our ‘go to’ .

Four of us went for a family lunch. Everyone ordered a different meal and all loved their choices, great menu with plenty of variety to suit everyone. Food well presented, hot and plentiful, lovely atmosphere and decor. Absolutely spotless. All said they'd like to come again. Most notable are the gorgeous staff. Helpful, friendly and an absolute delight. We were served by Alison, Tayla and Danielle and all three are so lovely.Thank you all for a smashing time....

I went for lunch at the Twig and Spoon.There was a lovely choice of meals available.I chose the quiche and salad, and it was delicious!It was also very filling!Sadly I didn't have room to try the desserts, which sounded amazing!Service was good, checking we were ok, and quick service.My only small issue was not all the serving staff were wearing masks - most were, but not all.Very enjoyable meal!Maybe next time I might try starter and see if that leaves room for dessert!

First visit and very pleased with the whole place, loved the garden centre and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch too. We will be back in a few months to try the cakes!

Just been for Christmas Afternoon Tea at the Twig and Spoon. Well organised. Catered for allergies. Very hot with no ventilation but OK. Fairly distanced tables.Friendly staff especially Sharon. £25 per head. Unlimited tea and coffee with the tea, extras available, 20cl bottle of prosecco for £7.95. An enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours. Took home my leftovers.Forgot to take pictures of the tea, as dived straight in because we were hungry, sorry!Decorations were wonderful, if a little dark.

Myself and some girl friends booked a Christmas Lunch at the Twig and Spoon. I’m gluten intolerant so phoned before booking online to ensure they could accommodate my requirements which they assured me they could. We provided our menu choices online prior to our event, and when we arrived the table was laid with the correct cutlery for the menu choices for each guest and a place setting card with our names and menu choices, which was a lovely touch. The staff were very attentive, spoke to me about my gluten intolerance and explained how they would adjust the menu to suit me. They gave me confidence that they really understood my condition. The food was delicious, we all commented on the quality and presentation of each dish. The courses arrived promptly, and after each course we were given the option of a rest before the next course. We have eaten here several times before and always enjoyed it, but this time it was a really special experience with superb food and excellent service. Thoroughly recommend!

I took my mum here yesterday for her birthday - it was so beautifully decorated. The ladies moved us on to a bigger table so we wasn't in the way of the serving door. The sandwiches were delicious and generous fillings unlike some places that skimp - We had a lovely time and everything was perfect. we even took a doggy bag home with us - The staff were very helpful and kind - Merry Xmas too you all xx
