The choice on the menu was excellent, varied and authentic Thai. The food itself was without fault and everyone enjoyed their meals. The rating was marked down due to the reluctant service. It was bordering painful. The pub has seen better days too but this can be easily overlooked because the food is good. Next time will try takeaway so we don’t have to experience the lack lustre staff.

First time trying the Thai food in the village, it was delicious! Super fresh, very tasty and good value for money. We had the stir fried king prawn which was my favourite, red Thai chicken curry and the beef massaman. All super yummy. The Thai crackers tasted home made and it all had a good level of heat. Will be back!

Visited with some trepidation- after our pervious Thai choice Thai Now had closed and a nasty experience with a Reading Thai Restaurant for a birthday, and tonight was I was reminded an important anniversary. Good varied menu, easy to order and ready to collect as scheduled within half an hour. Friendly service- I look forward to going back for a meal and a pint So to the Takeaway The moment I tasted a sneaky prawn cracker as we served up I knew everything was ok. Spicy, crisp and tasted not of nothing like usual but of real prawn. A starter 2 main courses with 2 sides all for under £40.00 and plenty of food for 2 so excellent value. But better still superb food, not over spicy but subtle, fragrant and fresh- not heavy, greasy or overcooked - just well cooked fresh flavour packed food. This is now our go to takeaway - I look forward to working through the menu thanks to the chef and staff for making our evening a memorable one

Limited selection, hottest curry was green. Ordered 2 x chicken green and 1 red curry, rice, Pad Thai, and prawn crackers. The curries were swimming in oil, tasteless, so over run with mixed peppers I thought it was a vegetarian dish until I found a peice of chicken. Rice came as one lump, being overlooked . Pad Thai was edable shame the curries weren't. Best thing was the prawn crackers which came out of a bag. Total waste of money. Such a shame as we really wanted to find a decent Thai in the area. Tasted better out of a jar from Sainsbury’s.

The landlord Dave is an interesting character (actually he's really not) - a bit Basil Fawlty but once you get past that you realise he is a lovely guy and the food is delish! The landlady is Thai and all the cooking is done by her and her son, from scratch, in exactly the way they always have - true authentic Thai :-) The locals are friendly, and the bar and garden are dog friendly (the landlord even keeps a few doggy treats behind the bar for "good boys!") with lots of good walking in the area - it's a very pleasant way to while away a day going for a good long walk and then a well deserved cold beer and a Thai curry :-)

Although this slightly quirky pub cum Thai restaurant might be easily overlooked it is DEFINITELY worth a visit. The pub is quite old fashioned with a narrow bar and very good well kept beer, whilst at one end there is the restaurant. What it lacks in style and chic it more than compensates for with it's excellent freshly cooked Thai cuisine.Four of us had drinks and a plate of mixed starters plus prawn crackers with sweet chilli dipping sauce. I chose a chicken 'yellow' curry. Sweet mango and creamy coconut milk with fresh vegetables, strips of chicken and boiled new potatoes with Jasmine rice. Others had a green curry, nam pla, red curry all fresh and tasty. More drinks with the meal plus coffees and teas all for under £90.

I've been here twice now and both times the standard of food has been amazing. Really nice old pub atmosphere so I wasn't expecting the kind of food they produced, what a very pleasant surprise!! It's difficult meeting friends and eating out with Celiac and I was dreading asking the 'what can I have that's gluten free?' question, but I was told to chose what I wanted and then the waiter spoke to the chef and confirmed she would make sure it wasn't contaminated. I haven't finished a meal out in ages! The second time I finished mine and my husbands (he ordered something a big spicier than he could handle). The day after my first visit I wanted to back for lunch! It was outstanding. Will definitely be back.

I am writing in defence of the bad reviews of the Turners Arms pub / restaurant! The bottom line is that the food takes great, the portions are generous and it is really good value for money. (See my Crazy Bear review for a contrast!) The beer is good too! We have eaten there many times over the period of about 4 years now and have not had a bad meal there yet! We have taken numerous friends and family there and every one of them has been blown away by the quality and tastiness of the food; it is also beautifully presented with the carrot and radish rose shapes that are used to garnish the plates. I especially recommend the tamarind duck, delicious, order it with a portion of stir fry vegetables and jasmine rice, a perfect meal for 2, yum! The TA is also our favourite place for a tasty takeaway where they will knock 10% off the bill. OK so the decor is tired, so don't expect the latest in cutting edge pub / restaurant design, but the place is clean and if there was a refit, I suspect that the food prices would rocket to pay for it! And yes, the manager may not be the most social and quite blunt at times, but please bear with him as he is hard working (as is his wife, a quiet, but lovely thai lady who is usually in the kitchen as she is the main chef), he can smile (!), has a good product and has to be admired for succeeding in creating and running a cracking little business!

On the positive side, you can park easily, and the beer is a reasonable price! We found the starter (mixed starter for 2), was average, our view is that the fat wasn't hot enough and so the insides of the fried food weren't fully cooked. One main course (Pad Thai), nuts were too coarse and flavours were lacking, the other (Chicken stir fry) was cooked OK, and the ingredients were good, except there was absolutely no chilli used at all, and the sauce was very thin, flavourless and very disappointing (weak gravy is a good description). It was just an ordinary stir fry. Good Thai food involves to various degrees, amongst other things, chillies, fish sauce and paste, limes, coconut etc. these ingredients did not seem to be used in this restaurant. Service also was OK but whilst the barmaid was friendly, the waiter was cold although polite. There are much better in the area, so I can't see us returning.

We've been getting takeaways from here for about 3 years and until recently would agree with the other good reviews. However, the quality of takeaway food recently has plummeted, perhaps they have a new chef?Tonight's takeaway was so bad it was completely in edible and went straight in the bin. It consisted of virtually raw pieces of fat and gristle (duck), stone cold and half cooked noodles and rice that had obviously been sitting around for a very long time which was rock hard, cold and dry. Our takeaway resembled something that had been scraped from diners leftover plates and served up in a box. A real shame as we used to like this place very much, but we certainly won't be ordering again in a hurry.

In the middle a bar serving a fab selection of ales/beers.The menu(s) given were English pub grub and a great menu on various Thai meals either to have on their own or also provided as Set meals for 2, 3 etc. We went for the set meal for 2 and certainly far from disappointed.A delicious mixed starter selection of Chicken, Prawn toast, spring rolls/thai cakes with chilli and Satay sauce.A lovely selection for our main meals and we went with the Red Thai Curry for one of them.
