Had an amazing time at Turmeric Gold in Tunbridge, UK last night! 🌟 The restaurant has a lovely ambiance with plenty of parking, and the food was absolutely delicious. The hospitality was top-notch, and it's budget-friendly too! Perfect spot for a late-night dinner and catching up with friends and family. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Delicious food, clean and smart decor. We visited for our anniversary and enjoyed every minute. The tables are laid out with lots of space between each. Good atmosphere. The food was really fresh and hot with lots of flavour. Good service too.

I have been to Turmeric Gold three or four times for dinner, most recently we went on a Saturday evening to celebrate my mother's birthday. I have never left disappointed and do not have a single bad word to say about the place. It is simply a lovely place to eat. Food is always delicious, they always check in to see if all is OK or if any further drinks are required, and always deliver great service. I had the Xa-Cuti on a previous visit, which I found a little too powerful, so the waiter suggested next time asking them to make it slightly less hot. I opted for a different curry this time (the exo-tikka) but it is good to know in the future that the kitchen can alter the level of spice in your dish. Like I said I never leave Turmeric Gold disappointed, and if you like Indian food or have never tried it and are intrigued, this place is great.

It feels from the beginning that this restaurant is on higher level than any other. The food is absolutely delicious. Also, it has spacious parking. Would definitely recommend!

Superb food and service. I am very demanding when I want a curry. I want curries that are varied and rich and deep in their flavours. Turmeric Gold is head and shoulders the best curry house in the area of Tonbridge, and probably Tunbridge Wells as well. It is certainly not the cheapest. But if you value the extra and different you get when dining out, or having a special takeaway, then this is the place to go round here.

Nice location, nice decor, friendly staff and very good food. Proper old school chicken madras. Very busy for 7 pm on a Saturday night. Not overly expensive for the food you get. Very clean and lots of attention to detail, as the staff try really hard to make it a good meal for you. As a tasting note, the chef cooks a medium hot madras. Recommended.

Ordered a delivery at this place. Best indian I had in a long while. One thing they could improve is add an option for card payment on their website.

Great food as always amazing atmosphere and good for birthdays and large gatherings

The food was absolutely awful. The keema naan looked filled with a grey paste rather than keema. Chicken korma, chicken tikka and keema curry were flavourless. The naans were all nasty, could taste water, the bottoms were soggy as if dipped in water! The grease from the curries have actually stained my kitchen sides and won't budge after scrubbing! We have never had an Indian before that has soo little taste. We ate a couple of poppadoms each so basically paid nearly £70 for them 😏 I wouldn't normally leave a review I just wouldn't go back but this take away in particular was shocking.

We ate here for a birthday meal with 14 of us... The food was amazing and they had a nice selection of cocktails.

The food and service is excellent. While we were at the restaurant the background music was loud making conversation difficult.

We were supposed to go for dinner but unfortunately we were both ill. We found out they delivered and this will be our new go to. Food was delivered hot in a very nice box and the food was so delicious

We have been here many times as the food is amazing and the staff are very attentive. However, this is now the second visit that I have been overcharged. Their customer service when you try to sort it out is sadly not so good.

This large restaurant on the outskirts of Tonbridge used to be packed most nights pre-Covid. On my latest visit on Saturday night, the main room was full, but it wasn't heaving like it used to. Mains start around £12.50 for "the classics" and range up to £20 for the most expensive specials. The food was very good, but not exceptional. Portion sizes were all on the small side. Good service and a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Great restaurant with Asian/ Indian food. Service to our group of 9 was excellent and very friendly. They catered for all our needs and when they realised it was my cousin’s 80th birthday they gave her a bottle of wine to go home with. Very kind and thoughtful

Excellent night food fabilous ndverhad such delicious prawns and tandori chicken was mybest ever. Moist and not too hotService was brilliant and staff very attentive and helpful and to finish it off i was given a bottle of red wine for my birthday

Went due to great reviews. Service and location great as we're poppadoms and sides. However Chicken Korma was bland with dry chicken, and king prawn dish.. didn't taste of much at all despite emphasis placed on garlic... Nice people but more effort needed in the mains.

First takeaway for many years after standard of food dropped badly. They now deliver to local area - I think a £3 charge. Food good quality apart from the lamb dish which was very chewy, although our dogs didn't complain. Will try again and hope that this wasn't a one off as it is only just up the road from us and used to be very good. Staff OK but not as friendly as previously.

AWFUL!!!! After waiting an hour and a half I was given beef instead of chicken, complained and my food came out in minutes!!!! My partner also visited a couple of weeks before and has a severe nut allergy and they still put almonds on top of her curry. Then took it back, picked them off and presented it again! Shocking! The rest of the food tastes watered down and of nothing! They were very busy and the staff were kind enough, but shocking food. And then to top of all off we were charged £77, the butter chicken was taken off and rice for being the wrong order originally! But wow! They make their own calculations on a hand written receipt!!! Never ever again visiting! Will tell everyone to avoid! Wish I could give 0 stars!!!!!!! Never one to complain but wow.

Booked table for 11 people for 7.45 pm arrived 7.35 asked to get a drink at the bar. Waited 20 minutes to get a drink (bar wasn’t busy) they were doing drinks for the restaurant. Had to ask if they were serving Got to the table never got food till 10pm then they got meals mixed up. Curry’s came in a bowl 4 pieces of meat not a lot of sauce. Then to charge £32 service charge is a disgrace. Never again

Absolutely Fantastic. That’s all that needs to be said about this lovely restaurant. The food is delicious, and always comes out hot. The staff are very friendly and, without fail, follow proper service etiquette (i.e serving ladies first, etc.) This is without a doubt the best Indian that my parter and I have visited (and trust me, we’ve tested out quite a few). Good for couples, families and large groups, and parking is never an issue.

This was one of the best curries I have had in a very long time. I can't recommend it highly enough. Superb food and lovely staff too.

First time at this restaurant and had a fantastic meal. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. I liked the way we were not rushed to finish and free up the table for another sitting.

We go there because they do fantastic vegan curries. It is great because they can vegan a number of dishes because it is so fresh & cooked to order.

Don’t go here they’ll rip you off with a manual paper bill and they deny to give you the bill. Recently been to this restaurant I don’t deny the ambience and service was good but they charged us £7 extra, I was surprised with the bill and calculated the amount looking at their menu… they’ve simply charged me more

Highly recommend Tumeric Gold. Visited on a very busy Saturday evening. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent - one of the best currys I've had locally.

If you come here and eat double check your bill as they tend to overcharge you on purpose.

We have been to this restaurant many times and its usually very nice but it only takes one bad meal to not go back. This was last friday 22nd September. All the staff are nice but they had a new waiter in..after we had finished the meal we had'nt eaten the lamb dish as the meat was too tough, when i politely explained to him, he said no it must of been one piece and picked up my fork and started to prod the meat in the bowl and said look its ok! That is terrible customer service. the chicken was also a bit tough but edible. I probably wont go back.

Cost of food crisis - unsure if the Tumeric Gold is suffering from financial issues, as the portion sizes are shrinking and the prices are on the up. Can’t knock the quality though, just need a snack when you get home.

I chose to entertain fifteen guests for my special birthday celebration because we know of the Turmerics excellent food. We had meetings with Kishor, the manager who could not have been more helpful. My birthday lunch was made so very special because of the food, the staff the atmosphere, the restaurant conservatory and outside seating area. It was a beautiful summers day and one I will never forget. Thank you Kishor and your staff.

Great food but very busy so slow to eat

I first went to Turmeric Gold in 2010 after it had been open for a couple of years. The food was amazing and the staff attentive and kind (they replaced, free of charge, the meal of one of my children who had been overly ambitious on the spice front when they saw him smouldering!) On my return the place has grown. Too much. It is vast and, as a result, it has lost its way. What used to be a reasonably sized restaurant selling top notch food is now purveying mediocre dishes which tasted bland, uninteresting and very similar. We arrived and had to wait on our table for a few minutes which was no major issue. Shown to our table in the newer indoor area I asked if the wine list was in the main menu. “I think so” was the reply. I ordered prawn purée which was served, not on a crisp, fried, chapati but on a thin cheap and soggy tortilla like bread. What should have been a rich and tasty bhuna with depth was a red and slightly bitter sauce in which the prawns had been poached for an overly long time making them hard and chewy. The jalfrezi sauce was similarly unrecognisable and uninteresting with a few lumps of chicken tikka lobbed in for good measure. The coco chilli king prawn looked and tasted off with no green chilli or coconut milk and was, ultimately, comped - thank you. However, the excuse that it doesn’t cook well on the tandoor didn’t seem to fly for a dish described as “pan-fried”. Even the wine was dull and thin. The ambience was absent and the restaurant brash and loud and not conducive for a sociable night out. So many people packed in creates an high level of background noise compounded by a bizarre muzak coming out of the sound system. Far better restaurants exist nearby where they still have a passion for their food and an interest in what they serve - Blue India at Langton, The Spice on Camden Road or Junahki. My advice would be to return to core values of passion for your food and service although I feel this juggernaut of a restaurant may be just too big to change course.

Certainly the best curry house in Kent. We have dined here several times, and the food is of excellent quality and plentiful. The service was attentive and faultless. My husband wanted his lamb curry a certain way, and his request was happily accommodated. It's refreshing to visit an establishment where pleasing the client is paramount, and delicious food is guaranteed. My teenage son said the flavours were 'popping' We'll definitely recommend you and be back again soon. Thank you so much.

Terrible service. Ordered at 7 food arrived at 9. No longer hot. Driver could not find place although described in detail. Not sure would order from them again. And this on a Minday night!!!

Another delicious Indian meal. The chicken jalfrezi was the best my cousin has ever had. My fish shobzee was out of this world. Really recommend this restaurant

I ordered a take away 2 wks ago i was told 45 mins after waiting a hour and a half I called and they said it would be another 15 mins again I waited and called again after 2 hrs it was a Tuesday so not normally one of there busiest nights,my food arrived over 2 hrs 20 mins later,it was ok food not as good as normal however thsy did offer bottle of wine as compensation, so all good there..however I tried to order last night and was told ithad to be cash only??

Very impressed by this place! The service was very professional and polite , they gave us poppadoms with lots of sauces to choose from as a sharer , good beer choices, and the mains were just perfect. Lots of parking too. Definitely coming again! Thank you for a really nice dinner.

Went here with a couple of mates on a Bank Holiday Sunday which didn't hinder the atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was brilliant, full of flavour, which is what you want from a curry! The service was also good, with polite and helpful staff. Would recommend a visit, we will be going back.

We visited for a meal for Valentines Day last night, we were surprised to be able to book a table at such short notice, but we were pleasantly surprised.. we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were served quickly, despite it being very busy! The food was piping hot and so tasty! The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, despite being under pressure, I'm sure. We are already planning on coming back!

Unfortunately this is not part of the original Turmeric Gold in Spon Street Coventry. I thought it was & was severely disappointed. They have just stolen the name (even the font😂) the menu & I definitely think the people running it used to work in the kitchen of the original Turmeric Gold. A cheap imitation.

Just the best Indian restaurant for many miles

Given how busy it was, the service was personal, friendly and flawless. The waiters were attentive, but not over the top. It was my birthday and one of the waiters gave me a bottle of wine to take home. So thoughtful and unexpected. Timings were impeccable, we didn’t have to wait too long between courses. The food was perfect. Thank you for a lovely meal- we will be back!
