Had a delivery & the meal was awful. Couldn't use a fork had to eat it with a spoon!! as it was like a cheap soup, all liquid & no substance. Lacked flavour & spices. Paid over £30 for cartons of soup! Would not recommend & will certainly not be ordering from here again

First and last time of visiting - there are better curry houses. Food was average but the service was rushed and they couldn't wait to get us out the door. The restaurant was dark and unwelcoming.

I must say I don't recognise this restaurant from the "one star" reviews. I come in pretty regularly and the staff are always warm and welcoming, and the food is always great.

Been coming here on and off for years with my best friend and never had a bad meal. Service is really nice and food arrives in good time. We ordered the Chicken Makhoni, Sag Aloo, Tarka Daal, Onion Bhajis and a few variations of rice, plus some garlic naans. All delicious and well cooked! Some might say it’s a little pricey, but where isn’t these days!? I think you get what you pay for in terms of quality. Looking forward to coming again soon!

First time ordering food was really good besides the onion bahji very burnt and couldn’t eat them. Other food we ordered was good . Tasty and hot

We went here last weekend on a Friday night and was my first time visiting! First impressions sadly were not great. We arrived and the bar was full of dirty plates and glasses. This did not get moved for the whole duration of us eating. We sat down and there was a tray with dirty food left in the middle of the room, again this did not move til near the end of the night, and they just kept adding to this instead of taking this to the kitchen. We ordered starter and main. They were rushing us as they were closing in 1 hour and then took away part of my starter when I was still eating and then served us our main plates when I was not finished my starter. The food was great, but service and professional was not ideal.

Not sure where to start when we lived locally we would eat here regularly it was by far the best Indian restaurant in Tunbridge Wells . On a short visit to see friends and family we booked a table as we always try to eat here when back in the country. I/We were horrified at how much it had deteriorated . The staff were appalingly rude, brusk and literally dumped plates in the the tables. The service was incredibly rushed ass they clearly wanted to close early. The food was OK, not as good as I remember but not bad. Of more concern than the Fawlty Towers trained waiters was the general feeling off dinginess about the place. It felt dirty, nothing had been cleaned properly, chipped paintwork and dirty toilets added to the unpleasantness. I'm so sorry Jewel But if you are still involved with the restaurant we will not be returning.

Have previously had some of the best food from here, especially the lamb shank baisah. Last time it was a bit tough and quite a small portion, this time it was small again and relatively bland unfortunately (maybe they've changed chef). Chana masala also had a slightly unpleasant taste this time

Your app said delivered when yet again it wasn’t! The restaurant very kindly sent out their own driver to deliver. Your company and drivers are an absolute joke, won’t be using just eat ever again!

It’s a shame. I have happy memories of Raj Pavilion as I went there a lot between 2003 and 2008. The food was great, the restaurant was sparkling and the service was friendly and fun. I have just visited and the Raj Pavilion is now up there as one of the worst restaurants I have been to. I experienced dirty tables, filthy toilets, sullen staff and really unpleasant food. Oily, burnt, overly sugared, unpleasant, one dimensional offerings, served without any care or pride. Awful.

As always the Raj relieved excellent food, spot on with the order and received dead on time. Excellent service, thank you.

One of the best curry’s I’ve ever had. Great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Freshly prepared, delicious flavours. Great value for money. Will definitely recommend

I feel bad about the 3 stars as its been 5 in the past! But for nearly £50 our food was cold he did say about the traffic but it didn't leave the restaurant until gone 6 and was due at 5.30.. Chips were greesy! Im giving it 3 stars based on my previous times maybe a bad day that's being generous.

The best Indian meal I've had in years! Dined with a group of friends. All food served at the same time (which is rare these days) and was so good nothing was left over. Chicken tikka masala was melt in the mouth tender and portion size was perfect.

My favourite curry in Tunbridge Wells and I've tried them all. Consistently good, very friendly and helpful 👌

The Garlic Nan was totally inedible. It was more like crisp bread than a Nan. The rest of the meal was average at best. I have certainly had better elsewhere.

Just had another amazing meal with great service and a very reasonable price, I find it very suspicious that that the latest reviews have been made from people that have only ever made 1 contribution? Maybe a competitor? We have been coming for years it's the best curry in t/wells without a doubt and we have many friends that travel here for afar . Please take no notice of the negative reviews.

Unfortunately, my visit to this Indian restaurant was highly disappointing. The service was slow and inattentive, making us feel ignored throughout the entire meal. The food quality was subpar, lacking the authentic flavors one would expect from an Indian eatery. Additionally, the portions were incredibly small for the price charged. The ambiance was far from inviting, with dim lighting and an overall unclean feel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine Indian dining experience. It’s better to explore other options in the area.

Staff were incredibly rude and made us feel very unwelcome. Our order came out wrong TWICE. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant and the staff did not even seem to know what this meant! As a result, he was violently ill for the next two days which ruined our 2 year anniversary. The food was below par, came out lukewarm and had a strange texture to the meat. It was also quite overpriced for what it was and will not be visiting again.

We visited Raj Pavilion last Tuesday evening to discover that not only was the food excellent, they do a special meal offer on a Tuesday which was really good value. The service was also excellent. A nice find and we will be back.

No to our taste unfortunately, the tradicional tikka was so sweet that I had to take the chicken from the sauce and throw the sauce away, tandoori mix grill meat was chewy and tasted old.

Sorry not a good tonight early evening and quiet resturant - they ran out of cobra around 20.00 , there was only one other group in the restaurant Plus they even run out of coffee …… guess not possible to buy coffee or cobra, prior to the evening opening ??

I didn’t mind it being late it was why I ordered early. The biryani was lovely. Never had it before. It was a big portion and served two easily. Dahl lovely too. Naan very big too. I’m a bit full up now 😋

Ordered a takeaway this evening and was left full but also disappointed. Food was tasty but curry was filled with onions( I’m a fan) but not of this much. Also found a bone in food my food, which is unusual for peices of chicken. Wouldn’t order again in a hurry

Ordered for 17:30 arrived at 19;00. Shame as food is good. I did call restaurant and they informed me no drivers so not sure if they are at fault or just eat. Also missing a drink I was charged £3.50 for

20 people booking, with several arriving at staggered times on a Friday evening. Fantastic service, food and customer care. One dish out of 30 was underwhelming and refunded even though it wasn't requested and every other main, side etc was delicious. Lovely meal, great customer care we will be back soon.

King prawns were overcooked, hard and dry. Sauce was tasteless with too much sugar. Advertised as a hot chilly flavour but could barely taste the chillies. Delivery was 45 minutes late which may have contributed to the prawns being over cooked. Meal arrived cold.

The only place we get Indian cuisine in Tunbridge Wells. It is amazing and tasty every time, highly recommend. My partner reminds me it’s the best jalfrezi he’s ever had (every single time he has it).

Ordered said 40 mins, took 2 hrs 11 mins to arrive. Food partly cold. Rang restaurant for 30 mins (over 50 attempted calls) no pickup, couldn’t cancel order. Saving grace would’ve been decent food which it was not. Avoid avoid avoid. If you cannot fulfil any other, don’t accept it!!!!!

Not sure how i could rate this lower. Appalling service and food, everyone ill and zero remorse or acceptance from owner. All very odd. Avoid

the prawn and lamb curry got mixed in the bag oil and curry every where in the bottom of the bag was terrible and my wife is allergic to prawns and It went in the bin very dissapointed

Lovely meal yesterday. Service was quick and friendly and food was enjoyed by all (2 adults and 2 children). It's been a long time since we last visited but will certainly be back again soon. The Tuesday evening meal offer is fantastic value and the restaurant deserves to be busy.

I used to come here at least once a week, now sadly once a month. The quality and service is consistently good and the Tuesday deal, while it has increased slightly is still great value.

I ordered from here on Sunday. I made the mistake of ordering via Uber and won't make that mistake again. I screwed up and even though they tried to deliver and because of my own fault the delivery got missed, they still ordered another cab to ensure we got our food, which is consistently amazing. Highly recommend.

Pretty quiet so service was good. Excellent grub but two issues: No spicy dip with the poppadoms and my Rogon Josh wasn't very tomato-y! It was still nice though.

Nice Indian restaurant... I usually order lots of the vegetarian side dishes consisting of daal, sag paneer, chickpeas etc and it's nice...

Just recently been there, the food was good the staff are friendly and polite, will be going there again.

Usually excellent, but they recently gave the driver the wrong receipt for somewhere on the other side of town. When I rang the restaurant, they said they would make me a fresh meal, but the driver turned up 10 minutes later with the cold meal. I rang the shop again, and was told they would give me a full refund. When this didn't arrive, I twice messaged them via their website but they just ignored my messages. Very poor customer service, and I won't be ordering from there again until they sort this out.

Friendly welcome, attentive service, big menu, but most of all a truly, truly delicious meal. I just wish I could've fitted more of their lovely food in! If you're like me who normally has the same old thing from the menu, then please do branch out and try one of their signature house specials. I'm glad I did. Fabulous!

Best place for a curry for miles 👌

Order turned up without rice. Restaurant agreed to send out (after trying to get me to go and collect it). Once it arrived I realised they had sent me the wrong curry and nan. The restaurant refused to do anything about it. So ended up sat there with a portion of rice and a side order. Avoid. No concept of customer service.

BEWARE the Tikka Masala is bright red like some kind of weird alien food in Star Trek and sweeter than treacle. Most bizarre and unpleasant curry I have ever eaten and to put that into context I'm 44 and eat a lot of curry. Portions and packaging were good so 2 stars, called the restaurant in dismay and they answered quickly and assured me that was their normal masala sauce. Delivery was excellent but all in all with dry rice and bhajis and unimpressive other sides I won't be ordering from them again. I dread to think what their other sauces are like.

Really, really good and arrived hot. Peshwari naan was a bit too chunky for our liking. Chicken Naga was amazing!

We’ve been getting takeaways from the Raj for a couple of years now but in the last 6 months the quality has fallen. The curries have now become very oily and whereas before there was a clear definition between the styles of curry e.g. Jalfrezi, Naga, Shaslik, last night’s offerings were indistinguishable. We were incorrectly given a lamb dish instead of chicken (even though ordered using the online App) and the opinion salad to go with the chutneys contained limbs of semi-peeled and aged carrot. Such a shame, as definitely was the best curry house around

We visited on Tuesday and took advantage of the fantastic offer of starter, main, rice or naan and brandy or Bailey's...all for £12.95. Even without the offer this is the best Indian food in Tunbridge Wells by far and we have been regulars for many...

After sampling the food numerous times using their takeaway service i visited the premises on a Thursday evening The food was delightful as ever and the service friendly. Couldn’t fault. Would definitely recommend

We have been coming to the raj for a few years now, we have 2 indian restaurant where we live but the food is not even close, can honestly say we have never had a bad meal or take away. The chicken is so well cooked and juicy unlike most Indians where it is so dry. The portions are excellent and the service is second to none, we go on Tuesdays where the do a deal of starter, main, poppadoms ,rice or nan bread and baileys £12.95 and such a good deal. Would highly recommend

Had takeaway last night and it was amazing! I’m usually very fussy when it comes to Indian food but I went for the traditional chicken curry and it was exceptional. So much flavour, the portion size was great and service was incredible also. Will definitely choose here next time :)
