Turkish Grill in Reading

Very disappointed. Had 3 chicken Shish kebabs, they were overcooked and meat was very dry. Server didn’t speak English and communication poor. The man cooking the kebabs took 4 chunks of meat off our skewers and held it back. When I queried it he said it wasn’t cooked enough. I said I would take it anyway and he pretended not to understand. I knew he was going to use it for the small chicken shish that another person had just ordered. This is not acceptable. Won’t be going back.

Ordered takeaway with family chicken shish with kofte kebab which was greasy amount of grease there was I could use grease for my hair, instantly thrown up and couldn’t digest my food properly! My partner and my dad doner kebab meat was stone cold and dry to hell! Caused me to throw up food poisoning managed to get full refund but people who served me didn’t wear gloves or hair nuts and also didn’t wash their hands either. My partner who been in food chain for over two yrs said it wasn’t right plus the side looked like it wasn’t clean at all look liked there was sand or semolina which could make you ill from cross-contamination. None of the food either on front fridges wasn’t dated so which means you don’t know how long it’s been their for!

Only complaint online states cheese on burger's but they never come with cheese other than that great food.

We frequently order from Turkish Grill as the food is really good, generous portions and always quick too. We got a free potato salad as we are regulars. Thanks guys!

There was no tomato sauce on the pizza just cheese, and the cuts of lamb for the Dona were not great.

Food is fresh and fantastic. Grilled meat amd salad. Can't go wrong. Reasonable price too. We often get the massive Turkish mixed grill does us two meals easy...

Ordered doner kebabs with salad and pitta as listed on the menu, but when they arrived there was just doner meat and Pitta, no salad at all. Quite disappointing.

The food is always great from here! We have ordered many times and the pizza is hard to beat!

5 stars as the food was lovely but I ordered cheesy chips, didn’t get them only regular chips Ordered a 1.5ltr bottle of coke, never got that either. I think that’s why the food arrived early.

There was a slight hiccup with the food delivered but that was rectified very quickly, the food was amazing great service!

We have ordered from here a few times now and the food is excellent. Bbq chicken pizza is delicious as are the kebabs. A couple of times some other items have been added for us to “try”! Fab!

Customer service appalling. No mask, no gloves . The server was disinterested and appeared to struggle to understand me or answer any queries about the menu due to limited English. I requested he wash his hands after handling cash payment for another customer, while also preparing my chicken kebab. He became angry at my request and interestingly his English became fluent to the point he shouted at me he washes his hands every 5 minutes while working in the takeaway restaurant. I explained that my request was not unreasonable and I was merely ensuring adequate food hygiene measures. The sauces he added to my kebab were not the bottled which I was expecting, instead he took a ladleful from serving pots. I guess they had been there for some time as the chilli sauce was dry and smelled awful. My family complained of the offensive smell when I returned to our car with the food. When I asked to speak with the Manager about his offhand attitude, I was told that he is the Manager ! Very disappointing customer attitude and offhand manner. We could not eat the food....waste of money , but will not return to this takeaway restaurant. Poor hygiene attitude. Unpleasant staff and food unpalatable.

We have bought food from Turkish grill many times before as it is tasty, a lot of food for the price with a great variety. First time we used the delivery option as we usually collect and it was perfect for a lazy blustery Friday evening when we did not feel like making the trip. Love this place and could not believe the size of the pizza for the price!

I loved it! I’m pregnant and was craving some of those green chillies, asked for them to be put into a separate box and they definitely delivered that!😍 Food was amazing, very hot. Arrived early too! Just all round perfect! Will be ordering again! Thank you!

Awful food, awful customer service. Received wrong order, called to see if they could change, was told no and then hung up on me. Called back, was told I would have to reorder and pay again, no interest in trying to rectify the problem.

Ordered and collected a large doner and baklava just before Christmas Day. Service as usual was very good and both the kebab and Baklava were excellent.deserves more customers to support them at this time. Fully recommend this shop.

i went there about a week ago i was the only person there at the time i orderd a kebab paid for it. they basically ignored me i know the owner and his partner after 15 minutes still no service they were processing takeaways .then 2 couples came in they served them before . almost a half an hour i finally got served a donor kebab cold with not fresh salad.upon leaving i said i knew the owners, and young chap said so what.told him i would not come in again, he said why ? i said you did your takeaways and served the 2 couples before me

Good Doner kebabs, and a range of other assorted grilled dishes, very good Pizza and much better value than Dominoes a couple of doors up. Only problem is depending on who is taking the order sometimes they don't get it right ( the girl) so check what they are doing before you leave the shop as they will happily sort it out, they are very nice.

It looked, smelled and tasted amazing. The experience overall was OK but we will consider other places to takeaway in the future.

We ordered a chicken burger along with a few chicken kebabs which where fine, but the chicken burger was too small for the bun and it had no salad or sauce. Very plain an very dry.

Really nice shish kebab and always do lots of lovely mixed salad with each dish.

Never normally a problem but Horrible tasting chicken nuggets this time and 30mins late.

I am not happy as I have ordered baklava three times now and I haven’t received it ... if you know you haven’t got it then why is it on the web site it’s should be specified that this item is ‘out of stock’

We went for the mixed grill and lamb chop meal between 5 of us and there was plenty! The chops were exceptional. I liked the salad and home made garlic mayo. The order came early, which was a pleasant surprise.

Greasiest meal I have ever had. Me and my 3 colleagues were I'll the next day after ordering from this place. It was so greasy the paper everything was wrapped in was soaking wet. Avoid!!

normally very good but on this occasion food delivered cold and very poor sauces on kebabs, could not eat the meal. Such a shame will not hurry back and will now try other establishments. Very poor

Ordered a chicken shish and the portions were good and it tasted amazing! I was really impressed, had left over chicken as it was a big portion, so I gave it to a family member. Not long after we were both really ill, very bad tummy’s and nauseated. Later found out a friend had also gotten sick from here and another friend was served raw meat. Won’t be returning

Very good. Impressed with the battered fish. Some places just heat up something from a supermarket, so glad to see this was a proper battered and fried bit of cod. Would prefer more chunky chips rather than the thin "fries" type ones. The kebab was lovely. Burger was good meat too. Would use again for sure. Thanks.

thoroughly enjoyed our chicken donner and falafel wrap. Portions were huge, everything was fresh and tasty. Excellent value for money.

Food came quick, was a shame the wraos were falling apart had no sauce or salad in either of them. Told them to ring when outside yet had the driver banging my communial door at 12:30am

Regularly use this kebab shop and am rarely disappointed. Their mixed grill is good value, which contains lamb donner meat, chicken donner meat, lamb shish, chicken shish, kofta, chips and salad. However, prices have just gone up so more expensive. On this occasion has mixed donner kebab and chips. It was delicious.

The Lamb Kofte Kebab are the best in town! Cant get enough of it!

Had a takeaway here and ordered a mixed kebab but the server couldn’t explain what it was I was ordering very well and appeared to not speak or understand English that well. So I ended up with a takeaway meal for four deal instead of what I thought was for one? Obviously couldn’t eat it all but what I could was nice and you could make your own kebab with the meats salad sauces and bread supplied so made a nice change to be able to make a kebab yourself and it not be overloaded and unable to pick it up and eat it with the bread. Staff are nice friendly people there.

Smelly doners (what meat is that??), poor service, rip off salads. £1 to pack that rubbish salad separately ! Harput in oxford road, Kings grill in kings road beat this hands down.

Fui y pedí un doner de cordero, pero el personal no sabía que yo era un experto en doner, había estado en Turquía e intenté con la mejor doner y probé doners en Reading. . . en primer lugar, no quieren cortarte un doner fresco y sacar el viejo de la olla, aunque solicites uno recién cortado. . todas las otras tiendas doner en Reading están contentas de cortarlas frescas y en segundo lugar la carne sabe barata, ni siquiera es 50% de cordero, no importa 75% ni tan sabrosa como Harput en Oxford road o Istanbul grill en Wokingham road. . solo los aficionados encontrarán este Doner bueno por desgracia.

Excluding the calzone meals, I'm really not too keen on the quality of food from Turkish Grill recently. Without going too deep into why here on the comments, I would appreciate a refund.

food arrived 30 minutes late and one pizza was wrong. rang up to ask for a replacement and was told we couldn’t get one for 24 hours! used this place for the six months while we’ve been working here. shocking service and will never use again.
