Carluccio's - Reading in Reading

I ordered two pizzas today which were very very good. Very fresh and super tasty so well done to the Chefs as well as to the front of house team for warm welcome and hospitality. Thanks 🙏

My husband and I go to Carluccio’s in Reading at least twice a month. The food is always of a high standard and good value too! Staff are friendly and accommodating, it is great to go somewhere that is so reliable!

we came to the OPERA evening on the 6th of MARCH 2024 and OMG did it exceed our wildest expectations. The format was easy but well structured, the performance of the 3 Great singers - FAULTLESS, the music conductor was worth a whole orchestra, the food was very tasty and that ITALIAN prosecco was 10 out of 5 possible:) Thank you team CARLUCCIO for such an amazing evening and keep it up! Cannot wait to see you on the 25th of SEPTEMBER now. LOUD APPLLAUSE

Great food excellent service. No pizza unfortunately. Food portions are quite large for kids menu. Few vegan options but they do gluten free options for pastas.

Lovely meal from the Valentine menu for my wife and I. Tasty food and our waitress was speedy , friendly and very efficient. She also has a great memory since she di not write down our orders. Well recommended.

Great food and service on Monday. Came down from Henley for a day date and we were so happy that we picked this place. Charlene was amazing what a great waitress lovely recommendations and very professional with a touch of humour. We will make sure we tell our friends in Reading to check this place out.

Not that busy but service was impeccable. Charlene was lovely and mentioned the QR code on the bill to get discount next time. We will be back.

The food is fantastic and delicious. We love the Carbonara a lot. Denzil, the staff, is very nice, polite and always smile to us. He makes us feel like home.

Always a great meal here, Charlene is like a breathe of fresh air with the relay she is always flying about making sure everyone is served and happy. We are regulars and it’s nice to see she is working a bit more when we are in. See you soon!

Staying at the Rosette Hotel with my wife. We travel back and forth from London to Reading frequently we were looking for a hearty pasta dish to fill our stomachs and relax. It appeared that they were busy and we were grateful that the waitres that greeted us told us she could clean a booth for us if we had a look at the menus while we waited. We were so happy we did food was delicious and service was second to none. We even got convinced to order a grappa. We didn't catch her name but she was a mixed race lady and had slicked down hair. We leave on Sunday evening and she told us she normally is the Sunday breakfast/ lunch lady so we will definitely come back in for breakfast and see her before we leave.

Dropped in with family, nice cool open place. We were met by a lady called Charlene. She was fantastic, full of energy and charming. Food was good, drinks came quickly and service (I think thanks to Charlene) was upbeat, and very slick. Would recommend and will be going back. Top draw

While the food was quite tasty the service left a lot to be desired. I was with a biggish table (7 ppl) and while everyone else got their food I was left waiting (I had not made any special requests, I ordered the same as 2 other ppl in my group). While this isn’t a big issue and I understand that food service is really tricky, timing wise, I was therefore slightly slower at finishing my meal than everyone else. Again, no problem except that everyone else at my table had their plate cleared and desert menus were given to each of them, while I was still eating. I felt very rushed and had to leave some of my food so as not to feel even more behind. I then was never given a desert menu and had to make a quick choice from my friends menu as the waitress came back around only minutes after I was “done”. The restaurant wasn’t busy so I don’t’t know why we had to be rushed with service. Quite disappointed really. Would not go back or recommend.

Came here with my fiancée to celebrate our anniversary, really lovely place altogether, even if there were a few minor faults. Starters were nice, if a little odd in terms of portion sizes. The mushroom soup was so much that it couldn't be finished, and the beef meatballs were served as a pair, I would've liked at least another two on the plate as they were really nice. Ordered the carbonara and tuna steak for mains. Tuna was cooked to well-done, weren't asked how we'd like it cooked. My fiancée really enjoyed it despite this, minus the brocoli (she's just picky like that). Carbonara was absolutely phenomenal, genuinely the best I've had in any Italian restaurant. Portion size was perfect, sauce was just enough to coat the pasta without flooding the dish, the pancetta was plentiful and just crisp enough to elevate the dish, by far the best dish we had. Ordered ice-cream for desert, waited an inordinately long time for 3 small scoops, even if it was decidedly tasty. Drinks, peppermint tea (lovely, according to my fiancée), lemonade which was really nice, and mango juice which was a little overly sweet. Next time I'm back in Reading, I'm ABSOLUTELY swinging by again for a meal. Service throughout was ample, the staff are all friendly, and don't breathe down your neck, hovering around your table. A very lovely venue.

Great service and great food! Wow want an experience. We had the voucher for the 50 per cent on mains and food was phenomanal we asked our waitress to feed this back to the chefs. On that note what a credit to the company she was personable and professional all rolled into one. Her name was Charlene and we will be back to see her! Bravo guys a lovely afternoon had.

Really disappointing. Ordered seafood rissotto and calamari. All tasted very fishy and not fresh. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry

Visited for morning coffee and stayed for lunch! We were warmly welcomed and received excellent, friendly service from Chweta. Grilled Tuna Salad was perfect for a midweek lunch!

Had lovely food on New Year's Day the food was amazing had quite few tables the waiter who served was very nice and polite and above all great service we feel welcome .. he told us about 50% off mains well definitely try to make it again in Carluccio's reading as We travelled from Guildford ..thank you

Slightly overpriced, but otherwise good

Came in on Monday with my family for a Xmas meet up between Reading and London. It was extremely busy and there appeared to be one waiter working but she did a fantastic job. We loved the food and her service considering how stretched she was really showed her attention to customers. We didn’t catch her name but she was mixed raced with a plait in her hair.

In my opinion this is the best place to get food in Reading, whether a relaxed dinner or business lunch. Ribeye steak and tuna tartare absolutely sublime, service always good, 5/5 will continue coming back.

Burrata starter delicious. Duck confit, doesn't look big, but my goodness loads of duck, the greens, potatoes and the sauce were amazing. Will definitely go there again. Thanks to everyone who works there. X

Went there for the work Christmas meal and I was very happy. Portion sizes were a little on the small side but the food tasted great and I had eaten enough after three courses. We were a group of ~40 people but the table service and they seemed to be coping well for other smaller groups as well. Really good meal.

Carluccio's is a stylish Italian restaurant. I attended here as part of a large gathering ~50 people, and the service was excellent considering the size of the group and the food pretty good as well.

I liked the food, the coffee was very mediocre and the price was on the expensive side. For the price, the food was underwhelming, but enjoyable. The starter was the most flavour filled part of the meal, with the main lacking. I enjoyed the overall experience, but some waitresses can be brash and spent more time worrying about the tip at the end of the night being in cash than catering to their guests. I would recommend if this restaurant were cheaper and were more accommodating of dietary requirements (keto).

Work party at Carluccio's Reading, food brilliant as always, service great. Nice to be in a restaurant where you can actually hear each other talk. We had a great time.

I had breakfast with my family on Monday and it was amazing. The smashed avocado was so tasty I nearly ordered a second one. Our waitress was lovely and service was great. I also visited for lunch a few weeks ago and was looked after brilliantly by Amy and Andrea. The food was beautiful and we spent a leisurely afternoon eating and drinking. Always a wonderful experience.

Amazing spot away from the oracle. I just wanted to highlight the fantastic service we received from Charlene. She really is a credit to the company. Very professional and friendly at the same time. This will definitely become my new breakfast spot.

Charlene is amazing! Great vibe, fantastic service with a smile and ensured we got everything we could possibly want. I understand she is relatively new but you would never guess, a seasoned pro in my eyes. Food was good too. We’ll be back in Sundays to come for Charlene’s service for sure. You are amazing.

Great easy going spot for breakfast! Great variety of options. Our waitress, Charlene was wonderful! Being new to the country she was super kind and took care of everything we needed very quickly! Wow wow wow! We stumbled upon this venue after rambling by forbury gardens. The food was spot on but the service was second to none. We just moved from the US and this is the best server we have had since we have been here. Her name is Charlene and she is amazing we will back next Sunday when she is next in.

I came in for breakfast with my husband and son and had a wonderful meal but most of all what did it for us was the exceptional service from Charlene. She has told us that she was new and honestly she was the best on service today. She was in fact the only one running around. She should get a promotion.

Amazing service and a great selection on food offerings. Myself and my friend came in as we had been staying at the hotel next door. We fancied a different lunch offering. Food was timely and service was second to none. We actually were served by this waitress before when we stayed in Oxford for a stag party. Charlene is her name and she is a credit to the business. Will be back when in Reading.

Haven’t been here in years and was very impressed with the venue, food and service. We had a lady called Charlene serving us and she was very attentive but not too invasive. We enjoyed the traditional breakfasts and she recommended we took the deal where you got a coffee and a juice. Very impressed and we will back.

I often go to Carluccio in Reading (Berkshire).Carluccio is one of the best restaurants in Berkshire.The prices range is between cheap and fair, the quality food is outstanding, the service is over the top. I would like to thank the general Manager and all staff, including the chef.They are doing an amazing job.

Whenever we stay over in Reading we forego the hotel breakfast to eat here. Spacious restaurant which has impeccable service. Eggs Benedict is perfect. Choice of sitting inside or out on the patio. Good for families or couples/single diners.

Relaxed, delicious food and great ambient atmosphere with plentiful outside seating. We’ve been coming here for over 10 years as a family and our kids have grown up eating here too. Great food at great prices, lovely staff and the coffee it great too.

We were looking for Gourmet Burger to be told that it was part of this establishment However the Gourmet Burger side only does takeaway online only So despite sitting yards from the counter my 8 year old daughter was not allowed to order a burger We got up and left to eat elsewhere

Love the seafood linguine and seafood risotto, couldn’t stop just repeating the dishes every time we visited. Al Dente and the sauce has a good spicy twisted 👍🏻 Mocha / coffee / chocolate is a real delight. Good vice, service is consistently excellence.

I have visited Carluccio's Reading many times before mainly for coffees and pastries, but this experience deserves to be rated excellent! These were the best burger we have ever had, fresh ingredients, the beef was perfectly done. Staff super friendly and helpful AS ALWAYS, made us feel very welcome... Thank you again to Denzel, Amy and Anna... we will be back!!!

I come here often and it's always a great experience with lovely food. The staff are polite and friendly and the atmosphere is always very chill as it's sort of hidden away. Would 100% recommend!

My old work team and I have our twice yearly meet-up at Carluccio's in Reading. We are always treated well, not rushed, and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are very accommodating to our needs and we always have a great time 👌🏾.

Came over to grab some breakfast on Sunday morning, and there was plenty of empty tables outside but we were turned away. (The staff member said "no, we are not taking any walk-ins". Huh?! You're not a GP surgery!) Also maybe put "reserved" signs on the tables or a big sign outside to say "bookings only".

Great location with outside seating available. Very tranquil atmosphere. Delicious Italian food and excellent service. Will definitely be back.

Really disappointing. The restaurant is big but was pretty empty. Food was particularly disappointing, the cheese bread starter looked like cheese on toast made by a builder, the main course Pasta Casarecce was like the kind of tomato pasta you'd serve an infant. Tasted ok but was extremely poor compared to rival chains. Service was pleasant enough but nothing special. I wouldn't return.

Just had coffee and toasted panettone. Absolutely delicious. Best coffee in Reading.

Honestly blown away by how good t the his place is, the staff were very friendly and approachable which for me is exceedingly important. The food was well worth the price I paid, all fresh baked and carefully chosen, whilst expecting something mediocre before giving, I was pleasantly surprised. Also their lemon sherbet soda was incredible 🥰

Really enjoyed my meal here. Feel as though I chose well. Pate to start was delicious. Burger as main and chocolate bread and butter pudding as dessert. All really tasty and really enjoyed it. Perhaps a little expensive for what it is, but really enjoyed it

Always always decent food and good service

We quite often use here for business lunches. The food is generally good and the service is quick. However there is one lady, slightly older, that is so unfriendly and verging on rude, it really spoils it

The food I asked (chicken milanese) was a little disappointing. It wasn't bad in what concerns taste, but it was just so plain that you could literally buy it from tesco and warm it up. It was literally just a piece of breaded chicken brest. With some salad on the side. That was it.

Festival set menu has three courses and that's comparitively cheap and good. Denzel served us.

We came for a family Birthday celebration and had a wonderful time! Service was good, food was delicious as always. This is an old favourite for a reason! Never disappoints.

The food was simply awful, the worst Carluccios we have ever been, We ordered Seafood Linguine, Ravioli and lasagne. The seafood linguine was not cooked properly and it smelled very bad. The ravioli was not cooked properly and it was watery and tasteless, even a Tesco meal tastes better than this. Lasagne’s meat smelled so bad. After few hours three of us had stomachaches and felt sick. I only give 2 stars because of their good will when We complained and received 20% discount due to the poor quality of the food.

Went for a work lunch and it was lovely, selection was good as was the selection of soft drinks for those not drinking. Service was slow but there were a lot of us. Bonus was we had 50% off mains so was a bargain!

Member of staff was rude to my friend. It may have been her humour, but he felt offended!
