2nd time visiting this incredible restaurant and it was a great experience. The staff are brilliant, their interaction with you is spot on, friendly but not over familiar. Out of curiosity, I checked out some of the negative reviews of Tuk Tuk. Only after having one of the best Indian meals of my life at this very place. These negative reviews have probably been posted by rival Indian restaurants, who have no idea how to compete with this amazing culinary experience. The service is impeccable and the food is exquisite. I had the Naga Lamb, which was very spicy, but also tender and flavorful. My partner had the chicken curry which was just as sublime. We shared the sag paneer which was indulgent, delicious and would go well as a side with any main dish. The bread was by far the best i ever had. Portion sizes were reasonable (Just). But all in, very reasonably priced for what we had. Anyone who says that you can't find any decent Indian food in Eastbourne is wrong. I'm here to tell you that there are at least two.....and they are right opposite each other!

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely meal here for the first time. It was a lovely atmosphere, the service was top class. We didn’t feel rushed to order or leave. The food was incredible - my partner had a veggie option and I, the TukTuk chicken curry both good portion sizes and tasted incredible. We are looking forward to coming back. WOW!!! What a recommendation from a local friend. Me & the wife are Not to shabby in the kitchen BUT This Was Without Doubt THE BEST Indian food We've Ever Had!! I had the Lamb Naga, it was hot, extremely flavoursome & WOW Melt In The Mouth Lamb. The wife had the Kerelan Style Chicken Curry which se said Absolutely Beautiful & the Chicken was so Tender & Juicey. With 2 sides & a Special Request of an off the menu Garlic & Chilli Naan plus 3 glasses of Really Nice House Red Wine. It was the Perfect end to 2 day Birthday break. Shiraz & his staff have got the Restaurant running at an A1, Top Notch Standard. I 100% Recommend this restaurant & We'll be going back real Soon. Mark & Barbera

This place is special im from stoke on trent 4hr.30mins from home and I would absolutely tavel that far to eat at this place. Atmosphere calm and relaxed but staff pleasant manager is spot on too hes absolutely right when he boasts this food. Also the chefs know what there doing my food was very clean tasted very clean. I've ate many currys this one was mind blowingly good. I could absolutely recommend. Make sure you visit if you come to Eastbourne you will not be disappointed.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in Eastbourne, and certainly the best Indian restaurant in the town. The service is great and the food is absolutely gorgeous. We've had the meat thali on a few visits, which is good to share between two, and is delicious, especially the lamb dish that's included. The starters are also really worth a try, especially the chilli squid and the paneer fingers. The options for fussy kids also go down well with ours, and they're a bit more inventive and nutritious than the usual deep fried freezer options most restaurants add to the menu. And the restaurant itself is nicely decorated, well maintained, clean and cosy. So, so good. We'll keep going back for sure.

Went in to get a take away to be told they don't do it, so was offered a table, I was a bit unsure at first as a solo young lady eating on her own In a new place/area as was visiting, I felt a little awkward but the staff made me feel super comfortable, amd super sage. They were so friendly and chatted away to me.. I ordered my food and when it came I was amazed. It looked and tasted amazing.. I love Indian food and this was by far my favourite, and I've eaten lots in many different areas and locations throughout the UK, but I was blown away.. absolutely beautiful. The restaurant was so clean and pretty, the staff were all so lovely.. the service was amazing. But the food was out of this world.. if you haven been, run don't walk there.

Me and my wife to be spent a night in eastbourne recently and visited tuk tuk, and I have to say absolutely amazing food and staff are very friendly and the owner shiraz was brilliant. A must visit and will be recommending to friends and family.

Delicious food, never been to India myself so I can't compare it with the food there.. Portions were large. I thought the (I think) owner was a bit overly attentive, stood at the table a little too often, not very relaxed dining in that regard

We were keen to see what if he restaurant was like after its refurbishment. We were greeted at the door in a friendly way and shown to our table. The restaurant is pleasantly furnished and decorated, and the chairs are very comfortable. There is plenty of choice on the menu, with street food dishes given a classy interpretation, interesting chef’s speciality dishes and the classic choices you would expect from an Indian kitchen. Everything we had was delicious and beautifully presented. Portions are generous and the service was great - attentive but not intrusive. We shall definitely return!

Best curry ive had in eastbourne by far

The food is outstanding here! We ordered 4 Street food small plates and a main curry with rice to share between 2 big eaters! Needless to say we were stuffed!

Service is like no other and food is wholesome and very tasty. I cant recommend this place highly enough.

My wife and I visit Eastbourne every quarter for work purposes and the highlight of our 3 days in Eastbourne every 3 months is that we get to visit Tuk Tuk. The food here is absolutely amazing, words are too few to describe how delicious the lamb biryani is!!! The service is impeccable too and we've never had an issue since we started eating here 16 months ago. I can't wait for March which is when we'll next be here. 100% recommended.

My family have going to Tuk Tuk for over a period of 4 years now and everytime we visit Eastbourne, this restaurant is an absolute MUST for us! We have become close to the owner, Shiraz. He's extremely welcoming, friendly, cheerful, heartwarming and very professional. It's always great to see him! The staff are also very polite, welcoming and professional. The atmosphere is always pleasant and food is absolutely delicious! We can't recommend this fabulous restaurant enough! Look forward to visiting again soon! Manny & Thuy

Food was delicious, couldn't fault any of the any of it. Service was lovely, felt very welcomed from the start of our visit.

Friendly staff but rude chef’s Had just arrived in Eastbourne, found an Indian restaurant that we could grab for a quick takeaway since we know it would be closing in 30/45 mins so we had anticipated the worse if we couldn’t grab a table. We noticed on Google reviews there had a very high rating hence why we had opt for this place to eat from. Customer Service: Luckily the two staff upon entering were very welcoming and friendly, in allowing us to eat in the restaurant despite them very near to closing time. 7/10 What we ordered: Lamb Rogan josh - very surprising to see that you can chose the meat to go with the rojan josh curry. There is flavour to the dish, the lamb itself is tender which you can tell it was cooked in a pressure cooker, whereas traditionally the lamb rojan josh is cooked in a one pot and very slowly so that the spices and the meat can be bind together to give that aromatic and flavour to the meat and spices and the gravy. 3/10 Chana Malasa - Overall the dish is nice but as enjoying the flavours, there are lots of shortcuts taken in preparing the food. For example the sauce was the same as Rogan Josh instead they had adding turmeric and coriander which if one knows how to properly make curries the flavourful, yet traditional ways does not make a whole curry base different. 6/10 Goan Calami - Our apologies but my partner is from Goa and this is more of a salt and pepper fried squid served with a slice of lemon and Mayo, which unfortunately does not mean it is a “Goan style”. A laughable dish which unfortunately does not represent any part of Goa but more of a western style cooking. 1/10 Paratha - It tasted fine but it was quite oily when served and for the size and the portion as you only get served one paratha for £3.50 for just a small plate it not quite worth it. It feels like there were there to make profit than getting people to come back constantly. 5/10 Overall, the food wasn’t filling honestly but definitely hope this would change. The waiter himself had asked how our food was, so we had opened did not say it wasn’t good the food was just good, and we offered them our opinions on the curries as my partner is a chef himself and wanted the best for other chef’s. The waiter himself had translated it to their two chefs who had been standing at the bar staring at us uncomfortable maybe due to wanting us out of the restaurant as they wanted to close up soon, which is understandable. One of the chef said in Hindi whilst discussing to the other chef, ‘what does he know about food’ the waiter and other chef laughed saying ‘as if he know how to cook food’ thinking my partner knew nothing about cooking traditional Indian cuisine. Unfortunately that comment the chef had made luckily my partner knew Hindi, and decided not to say anything because at the end of the day, no one should ever judge a book by it’s cover. Advice for the management: When speaking in another language about customers please do not do it in front of the customers as they probably might end up knowing what you are saying. Would we would come back again? Maybe only if there is any change but not really for the food currently being served.

This was an excellent experience and lovely restaurant. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant, by owner who was absolutely gracious, friendly, humorous and very knowledgeable. He told us about the various dishes and recommended some of them. The food looked absolutely tantalising and was really delicious. And the restaurant catered well for the vegan members of our party by the customisation of some of the dishes. The meal was very tasty, generous and filling. We left the restaurant feeling satisfied, happy and very contented. Highly recommend and very affordable.

It is not someplace where everyone is welcomed. Without knowing someone, they judge people. Awful to know such people still exist and even can continue doing business.For owners info we spent £100 just for two people before. It's their loss as they lost a good customer, we liked their food taste what we tried before. But definitely never going back after knowing how they actually are. If you are a person of colour, I would advise stay at home rather than going there and get judged by these awful people. *** Going down on the review list it's prominent if the place discriminates or not. How you look down on people that showcases through your words in each review. ANY MAN WILL BECOME FURIOUS WHEN HIS PARTNER IS NOT TREATED WELL. The welcome was great. The restaurant was very cold inside. The food was OK but found it expensive to what we are normally used to.

Nice clean, friendly restaurant. The food was nothing special and over seasoned with salt on two dishes. The waiter was very apologetic and reduced the bill slightly. I wouldn't go here again.

My wife and I just travelled through and stopped by Eastboune for a night, randomly searched on google for dinner and found this Indian restaurant. The quality of food and service were far beyond any of our expectation. The restaurant had great atmosphere and we were warmly welcome by the friendly staff. Thank you for the two gentlemen who made our time at the restaurant so delightful. (You can feel they genuinely care about everyone in the restaurant, it is places like this that we absolutely love). Not to mention the restaurant make one of the best Indian food we have ever had (We had been to India) And such delicious dishes could only be found in India, but it could never be as clean and hygienic as Tuk Tuk. So we just have to let everyone know, this is by far the best place for Indian food, we had such a great time in Eastbourne by this restaurant. The butter chicken, galic naan, butter naan are our favorite.

Lovely food. Very friendly staff. We had traditional type dishes and they tasted very nice. Chicken Tikka Korai is a dish i've not had in ages. Very tasty. Lovely Bombay Aloo. We thought it had a lighter taste to some Indian Restaurants. By that i mean it wasn't doused in heavy sauces and had a good taste. Not too hot. Not too spicy. We don't live in Eastbourne, but i'd be a regular if i did. I enjoyed my chat with the manager (owner?) about Cricket too !

We hadn’t booked as been let down by another restaurant who decided they weren’t open despite us booking. We were warmly welcomed, food was delicious and attentive service. We both had meat Thali; the different meat dishes had depth of flavour and distinct from each other. Naan was freshly cooked and light. We’ve been a couple of times before and consistently high standard this time too. Highly recommended.

Absoloutley awful!! Slow service, staff very rude, almost felt as though we were in their way. We had to call the waiter to take our order for drinks, that were of very poor quality for the extortionate prices. When we eventually received our order the food was a complete disgrace, all frozen ready meal quality and obviously shop bought. To have to wait over an hour to be served I think is ridiculous, and although we rang and booked a table beforehand they didn't have a table ready for us. Absoloute disgrace, will not be going back here, there a plenty more Indian restaurants in Eastbourne that are higher in my experiences.
