Spice Garden - Eastbourne in Eastbourne

Neither did any of the females enjoy the meal or service, kids waited almoat an hour with only 2 popdoms to share between 6 people, not a penny discount cost us almost one hundred pounds, I've made this restaurant on the blacklist so that we NEVER ever go there again, even by mistake. Food was smelling like it was old re microwaved. Chicken tikka was not even red, to be honest I am God fearing, a good Muslim I wouldn't write this if this was not true, my Allah is watching, this service was totally nonsense. We are Muslim's so are they, they didn't even bother to give 3 popdoms between 6 of us although it was almost an hour wait for old reheated food. Sad.

Table for 5 on 26th October 24 at 745pm.. The waiter who attended to us was quite rude, he looked so miserable when taking our order, it was if it was an effort for him. He seemed distracted by others in the restaurant. The food was fine but the waiter spoiled an otherwise nice evening. It’s made me think twice about going back.

To say it was a bad night!@!!! Ordered food just after 6pm for delivery at 820pm. Had to call restaurant 3 times between 830pm and 9pm as no food arrived, status on Just Eat showed 'Enjoy your food'!@! 1st two calls, I was told driver is on way!! When driver did arrive, item missing, told me to call the restaurant. Food was STONE COLD. Called again, just after 9pm, missing item was delivered. Appreciate it was Saturday night bit delivery service was very poor

Delicious but upset delivery guy, he rang and said 'I've been ringing your bell for the last 5 minutes'. I put on notes that bell was not working, driver said restaurant did not tell him....I ended up apologising

We had the pleasure of ordering a non-vegetarian meal for two, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and offered at a fantastic price, making it an excellent value for money. The staff were pleasant, polite, and highly professional, and the restaurant itself was immaculately clean with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Without a doubt, this is one of the best dining experiences in Eastbourne. Our compliments to the chef for the outstanding meal.

Highly priced and they said we couldn’t be seated on a booth as it was originally reserved for a family of 5 as to whom only 4 arrived and there was no reservation marker on the table. They didn’t cater for our disabilities as requested. Meal was very expensive for a small portion. We won’t be coming back.

Food was fantastic, been looking for a proper Dhansak for a couple of years and this was spot on. Was late but they where very apologetic about it and got a complimentary bottle of wine as an apology and a thank you for being patient. Will definitely still order again and even looking at going in for a meal.

So, i was looking forward to this, havIng seen its local awards. Sadly, it didnt live up to expectations. I ordered a takeaway for collection around 1730 on a friday (before the rush!). Chicken shashlik: was ok, but needed some colour/char. Chicken biriany: really bland and devoid of flavour. Tarka dal: again, bland. Like someone had forgotten to add the flavoured oil. Sag aloo: ok, a bit wet, but everyones tastes are different there. Naan breads: reasonable, nice and light, but the garlic naan wasnt very garlicky. A real shame, usually i look forward to cold leftovers the next day. In this case, most of it went in the bin, Sorry guys, i’d love to be more positive, but it just wasnt happening.

So 😋 delicious . I had just finished work, popped in to collect, super polite staff, very attentive and well mannered. The chicken biryani was just Sensational, so so tasty. I love sag pander bit not the biggest fan of this sag paneer as never enough cheese in it for me, but that's a personal choice.

Great Food and a lovely atmosphere. Ideal for dining in on special nights out or for getting take aways when you just want a great curry. Food is always cooked fresh and is always very tasty served by friendly and attentive staff.

Ordered lamb goan and chicken goan arrived also ordered four popadoms and only received three

What a delicious meal. We have never been to Eastbourne and were recommended by friends. The service was incredible, I was so impressed that the waiter carried all our plates - what a strong left arm!! Would strongly recommend.

Absolute joke, they cancelled our order 5 minutes before it was set to be delivered! There was no issue with payment as it went through PayPal and my account has plenty of funds available. I will never use them again!

Took a group of young people as a reward. They loved it and finished every scrap. The staff were really kind and the food was really tasty!

Absolutely amazing food, warm and friendly service and bright and cosy environment. This was our first visit and we were very pleased with the quality food. We tried dishes that we have never had before and which were recommended by the waiter. As a creature of habit I was a little reluctant but am so glad that I was flexible as the recommended dishes were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to visitors to the town and those coming from the surrounding areas. Its easy to get to from Brighton or Seaford on the number 12 bus (with the bus stop being outside!). Give it a go or experience FOMO (fear of missing out)! :)

Absolutely fantastic food!!! Guys in the restaurant were brilliant and advised of recommendations for food. Best curry I have ever had. My wifes a Brummie and loves curry and says it's the best she's had. If you are in Eastbourne and are eating out, don't miss out.

This restaurant was recommended by my niece. We've had 2 takeaway meals and neither has disappointed. Can't wait to go and actually eat in the Spice Garden. Very good value for money and delicious food too

Food was very tasty. Just check that your credit card bill & restaurant bill match. Take you glasses or you may end up double tipping on top of the gratuity. To be fair they did refund me. Hmm!

Great restaurant, good food and excellent service. Been here 5 or 6 times as it's now our local and is constantly producing treat service and fine food. Very lucky to have such a good Indian so close. They have new menus for 2024 I'll try to remember to get pictures next time.

Absolutely top class. Felt like I was in a London restaurant. I had chicken tikka starter which was to die for. Mains - chicken shashlik and madras was also extremely tasty and a great portion size . Onion bhaji’s are simply the best at this restaurant

My partner and I visited for an evening meal. We ordered poppadoms, onion bhajis, biryani and a dansak along with a bottle of red wine. The food was fresh and tasted great, it arrived hot in a food amount of time. We would recommend and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Food was nothing special, if you like hot vindaloo then you'll be disappointed, I ordered tandoori king prawns and got large frozen ones instead but still paid a premium, we were a party of 10 and most of the dishes were nothing special, service was ok all our food came out at the same time and there was no problem ordering extra drinks and side dishes, I would go again but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Shocking service. Waited over half an hour for our drinks & they were served in 3 stages! While 3 of us had our drinks, I had to go to the bar to ask for the wine we’d ordered to be brought to the table. We have been coming here for many years but the food wasn’t up to usual standard either. Very disappointing & won’t be eating there again unfortunately.

Food was very bland and lacked colour. Sauce watery and onion bhajis too soggy on the inside. Very disappointed unfortunately.

Was really looking forward to this food as lots of friends have recommended but sadly, was not impressed. Food was cold on arrival, chicken in my curry was extremely dry, sag paneer had 1 chunk of cheese, garlic Nan bread was cold and did not taste of garlic at all. My work place is near this restaurant which is about 10 minute drive to my house....I appreciate it is Saturday night but honestly not impressed, won't be ordering again

Amazing chicken hyderabadi and a cracking prawn madras, lovely earthy sag aloo and wonderful jeera rice. Expensive but delicious and enough for three meals for me with a few home made chapatis.

Dhal = lovely, Lamb Passanda far too sweet and the meat was tough.Okra and potato = fine. Lovely polite delivery.

Mine story is different, yesterday i was drunk amd stressed. arround 11pm I went to the restaurant. It was closed, i asked one of the waiter to give me free food cuz i am fukin broke. He didn't think again they give lamb tikka with rice. They even put it on delivery bag for me. What a staffs. Bless u all never forget u because you were there when i really needed.

The tikka masala was really watery and had no taste

Food is very bland! Very highly priced! Service slow, marks on walls, delivery bags thrown on dirty table and to top it off the waiter tried to sit us near the toilet in a empty restaurant! Asked for the owner who i know very well i was told the owner has changed as so is the chef. No wonder this is now the new atmosphere! Last ever visit I'm afraid.

Great place to have food and drinks. Best thing thay they have small kidd play area to keep kids occupied rather than sitting on phone screen. Good tastes good too. Service is bit slow. Rear garden is surrounded by trees. Please avoid it you catch hay fever easily. Overall will good....

Disappointing… went for dinner with friends, was charged extra for the popadum sauces and 10% service charge added on automatically. Small portions, curry was tasty but i wish we had booked elsewhere unfortunately.

It was really tasty and plenty. Slightly high in price ,but lots of people recommend the spice garden to me.

Supposedly this restaurant won the curry house award..Not sure when but the food I had with friends was like the blandest Indian I have ever had...all the dishes we ordered was flavourless and tasted of nothingness... Worst is they charged me for the accompanying condiment that comes with poppadom....in all my years of going to Indian curry houses,this is a first....we were so shocked and in utter disbelief...who charges for condiments........ My wife ordered the non veg thali and one of the pots contained Yoghurt...it is basically a cheat way to lessen the number of dishes served ...They should go to Chilli Pickle restaurant in Brighton and learn how to make thali... This is one restaurant I definitely would not be patronising again.. appalling food and the cheek to charge me for condiments...Every single dish was bad as each other. Save your money and go somewhere else please

Please change your frying oil, pappadums had a taste of overused oil. Was also disappointed that naan bread was not cooked in a tandoor (no char) and was pretty dry in general. Ussually naans are brushed with some butter. Generally experience wasnt great

Went for a family birthday. Everything was generally good however, my merg e chicken should have been chicken livers and not chicken breast. Two totally unrelated flavours and textures which was a silly mistake to make. Still probably one of the best Indian restaurants in Eastbourne. Would try again.

Classy atmospheric friendly restaurant, prices are high but food is remarkable. Do not expect your average curry house dishes. Sometimes a little light on chili heat but if you talk to them they will listen. Actual spicing, as in flavour, is spot on ....its delicious fresh food. I highly recommend the hyderabadi chicken. Even their pilau rice is different , and more like food you would get actually in India....none of that weird coloured stuff, it's proper jeera rice. Best Indian food that I know of in Eastbourne.

We have lived in Eastbourne for 25 years and whenever we have a curry, either eat in or takeaway, we always choose Spice Garden. I can honestly say, I have never had a bad meal from them. Our friends and relatives all enjoy their food and the staff have always been welcoming too. Of course prices have risen in that time, and Spice Garden was never the cheapest, but I do believe you get good value.

Worst Indian I’ve had in Eastbourne. Decided to try place out and was disappointed. The bread was over cooked and hard. Not soft like it should be and had no garlic flavour. The mains we got all had no flavour or spice. Lack of seasoning and taste. Also the chicken korma was all sauce and only 5 tiny small bits of chicken. Expensive food for what you get. Don’t recommend and won’t be back
