We tried to give the bistro another go as it used to be our favourite place to eat Unfortunately it still disappointed very expensive! Quality is non existent with pre made soggy baguettes & a cardboard overcooked panini over priced The menu needs to be looked at,we note on this visit the bistro was very empty for the time of Hereford has obviously got round Even the nursery plants looked very thirsty & uncared for in parts The website is also never updated with the correct prices Such a shame I would have complained this time but we we're treating a relative who had recently moved to Helston & keeping our fingers crossed but no it really has gone down hill with these new owners( informed by one of the staff it was under new management )shame we use to love coming here One positive some of the staff were courteous We won't return again We gave you a second chance but not again Hayle plants will get our plant custom in the future,highly recommended for knowledge & experience & garden design from someone who won at Chelsea We tried next door at tonys alyesia fields b&b wow really really good highly recommended

Disappointing. Very different from my previous visits. What has happened here? Menu very limited on a tatty piece of A4. Teapot spout stained which is not good. Food mediocre. Expensive for what we had . Sadly won’t be going back 🙁

Restaurant menu for a garden centre?? Very expensive and not really fit for purpose. Coffee in a cardboard cup for a £40.00 lunch!!!!!! That’s terrible. No sandwiches, jackets, baguettes. Plastic glasses!! We did sit on the terrace so we’re not takeaway. Hope our coffee was a takeaway price being served like that!! Staff friendly but not used to a restaurant, more a cafe I think. Decking untidy, weeds everywhere. Really could have been so much nicer. Won’t be returning!!!!

The food is average for a garden centre cafe. Service was good and they rearranged tables for our large group. Coffee was good. Cakes looked very appealing.

Not quite a 2. They have had a bad opening morning, one of the staff members informed the gentleman in front of us that everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Selection of cakes nowhere near as good as it used to be. I asked if they did a cream tea, they hesitated and I was told they did a fruit scone 🤔 does this mean yes or no I wonder. The hot chocolate I had was tasty, not that hot despite asking for it to be extra hot. The drinks arrived after the cake had been consumed. I found the decor dark and quite oppressive, dark ceiling and really annoyingly artificial plants in a garden centre which is renowned for its exotic ones, personal taste I know. Not impressed.

The sooner it closes fir redevelopment and new management the better! No decaff coffee and victoria sponge so bad even the robins wouldn't eat the crumbs, possibly the over powering vanilla flavoured synthetic cream put them off too. A general feeling of "who cares, we are going" Some where we will avoid after 25 years of custom until it reopens

(Under COVID) Party of 3 stopped for lunch whilst visiting garden centre. Given a table near the side door. Ordered 3 mains. The time to be served was excessive. The all-day breakfast was missing its hash brown, included incinerated sausages and the "toast" was warm bread. Having asked to have it re-toasted it returned exactly the same. The porrtion size on the scrambled egg and mushrooms was pathetic. 2 lemon meringue desserts were ok but appeared shop-bought. And all this whilst sitting next to a door being constantly left open by the waitresses struggling outside in a gale.Just a number of small things were enough to make this overpriced and us think twice before eating out here again.

What a superb garden Centre! So much for everyone, not just plants and a great cafe that is very popular locally.

Often call in here after visiting the garden centre and my main purpose is to enjoy a coffee and cake of which there is a good selection. The cafe was revamped not that long ago, the staff are friendly and helpful and I find it to be very relaxing.Have not tried it yet but the Sunday lunches are very good and popular but you do need to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended.

I recently visited this cafe as a meeting place with a good friend, we met up for a coffee, but having seen the 'specials board' decided to try a bit of lunch.We opted for a goats cheese, spinach and sunblush tomato bake with sweet potato fries and a salad, and I'm so glad we did! This has got to be the best food I have tasted in a long time. I couldn't fault it, beautifully presented and tasted fantastic.The service was friendly and efficient even though the place became very busy quite quickly.I will definitely be back very soon!!!

My sister and I had lunch here recently whilst visiting the garden centre. The food was very nice and service was quite quick. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes ample. There is a free water station in the cafe which was handy. Would recommend a visit.

This is a lovely little restaurant - it was very busy at lunch time. There were lots of people eating lunch and the meals came out looking outstanding - very well presented and sufficient. They do an all day breakfast which a lot of people like. The restaurant was very clean and the staff cleaned the tables as soon as the customers left - there was no debris on the tables. The staff also were very helpful. There is a toilet at the far end of the cafe which is accessible for wheelchairs.

Cant express enough how delightful the Kitchen Cafe is! The staff throughout the garden centre are very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was wonderful and service impeccable, especially Julie! Will be back again and spread the word!

Tables not clean (sticky), cushions and seats not clean (stained, grubby), debris (tissues, food) on the floor, cutlery not clean; food okay-looking, but you do wonder about the hygiene when the 'front of house' looks so unappealing.

Nice location and nice lunch. In laws loved the garden centre and the scrummy cake. Bought some plants but they are on the expensive side.

Have eaten here twice now and both times have been enjoyable. The staff are friendly and the food well presented. Dogs are allowed in part of the cafe and water provided for any thirsty ones!

The establishment was clean and welcoming. Our food arrived quickly and was reasonably priced. The portions were a good size and the food was hot.

Have stopped here many times as we're always assured of a great meal. This last holiday we stopped twice and the first time had bacon, egg and mushroom bap and the my friend had sausage, egg and mushroom bap. There were so many mushrooms they were put on the plate at the side of the bap. The bap was so large I couldn't pick it up and had to eat mine with a knife and fork. Delicious. Prices aren't too bad for what you get. Definitely good value for money. We stopped again on our last day and I had cod bites, chips and mushy peas and my friend had the vegetable curry. Again... delicious! The portions are so large we hadn't room for a dessert which is a shame as the selection is vast and they too look delicious. The garden centre itself is well stocked. It's all accessible by wheelchairs and there's a gift shop and usual garden shop. The toilets could really do with being updated. They're clean but not very inviting for such a lovely garden centre. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful.

The cake is gorgeous, they offer vegan carrot cake and I noticed a vegan coconut cake last time I visited, along with milk options. Usually only pop in for coffee and cake so can highly recommend. Dog friendly and staff are lovely. Sunday roast dinners are very popular, but you must book. Personally not tried one yet but they always look very good.

Dropped into the cafe,the girl behind the counter was great,when I asked for a soya flat white she told me they also did Almond Milk.Brilliant that they had yummy vegan cake as well.Also I looked at the menu and they have added a couple of vegan options although I didnt try them,I will be back.

After making an extra early start on a coastal walk with my girlfriend we turned up slightly enervated at the Trevena Cross Garden Kitchen Cafe not long after it had opened. We both had the veggie breakfast, which is delicious, with substantial portions. The coffee is also very good quality. It was a freezing cold day, but the real log fire created a cosy atmosphere, and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient. With energy and good spirits returned, we departed on our way, but we'll definitely be coming back - this place is gem.

We both opted for spicy parsnip soup which was lovely, certainly spicy! A large slice of granary bread and butter with it. Our two small terriers were allowed in and sat under the table enjoying the treats (mini bones) which were provided. A very enjoyable lunch, pleasant staff and atmosphere.

This was our second visit. The food is superb, ALL staff incredibly friendly, helpful and hard working. The Cheesecake was the best we’ve ever had. Makes such a difference when care and time goes into the presentation when serving food. FANTASTIC.

I recently visited the Garden Kitchen Cafe with a friend. We were greeted and served by friendly staff. We ordered and after a short time our meals arrived. We chose a jacket potato with vegetarian chilli and the special of Seafood risotto. Both meals were presented well with a nicely dressed salad. My jacket potato and chilli was very tasty, but the potato was a bit dry and powdery. It wasn’t really a problem for me as the chilli was moist and full of flavour, but I do feel it could have been much better. The seafood risotto was very tasty. Although this visit was for lunch and we were pleasantly full, it was extremely hard to resist the temptation of some scrumptious looking cakes. We had a coffee gateaux and an almond tart. Both were excellently presented and huge portions. The coffee cake was probably the best cake I’ve had anywhere, although I did think the cakes were a little overpriced for a cafe. The almond tart was excellent as well. I wasn’t keen on the choice of ordinary tea. It didn’t have a lot of taste, even after brewing for a few minutes, so probably have coffee next time. The cafe looked and was very clean and inviting, but I would say the toilet could have been improved. We will definitely be going back, there’s so many more cakes we need to try.
