A nice place, though more parking space would be good - they have loads of land to use for this! Usual prices for cakes and drinks -. have to eat outside if you have a dog so great if you want to share it with a few dozen wasps......

Excellent food, most of us (14, a mix of adults and children) had the roast dinner as it was a Sunday, the meat both pork and beef were very tender, plenty of gravy, potatoes on the plate with dishes of a selection of vegetables to choose from. Desserts were very nice too, some had ice creams and others in our group had a from the dessert section, crumble, cheesecake etc all very nice

I've been coming to Trevathan farm Shop for 25 years but have never reviewed it - was spurred to do this by their kindness to me when my car broke down in their car park - they couldn't have been more helpful in making sure I was ok and back on the move! Staff are lovely and it's a proper family-run business. The Farm Shop is a great place because it has everything - yummy breakfasts, nice choice of lunches, amazing cakes and delicious ice creams! It's quite hard to walk through the shop without being tempted - nice fresh fruit and veg, cakes and Cornish Saffron Buns, gifts, local tea, wine and gin.... Good variety of small gifts versus posh ones and who can resist a take-away pasty? And while you browse the shop the kids will have a field day - animals, mini tractors and diggers, swings, sand pit, zip wire, space to run around.....

Lovely place for food and drink however we waited a long time to be seated (even though the restaurant area was quiet) and there was a lot of staff behind the counter serving only a few people at the counter. On leaving we found our car blocked in. We went back to the shop to ask fur help and the response was “we are busy so there’s not a lot we can do”!! After explaining we wanted to leave, I think it was the manager, came out and looked at the problem - he said he’d go and ask around. After several minutes we went back into the building to see if he had any news and he wasn’t anywhere to be seen. Obviously not giving a stuff about customer service and cracking on with what he was doing behind the scenes. After asking around myself (which we didn’t want to do as families were having their lunches) we found the irresponsible family and all was solved. Sort out your car park and put lines on so people can park appropriately. A real lack of customer service and rudeness of staff. Definitely need customer service training.

I can't tell you how disappointing this visit was. I had the cream tea which was not the standard that me and my partner are used too. I was expecting lovely home made jam with delicious chunks of strawberries 🍓 within the jam and that right amount of sweetness and a lovely huge scone, but what I got was a runny syrupy jam with a few seeds in and the scone was about half the size than normal. Me and my partner come to the farm every year for our cream tea but we sadly probably try somewhere else next time as people have suggested other places to go for a cream tea. Sorry for the rubbish review but I was really disappointed on this one and last occasion. On a plus note my partner enjoyed their piece of cake.

The shop contained all sorts of goodies from farm food to gifts and everything in between at reasonable prices. There’s a wonderful playground area outside the main building all provided free of charge. children there were thoroughly enjoying the space and freedom while parents could enjoy a good walk. Pick your own strawberries- what’s not to love ? The sun was great that week so there was so much to chose from. They were so nice tasting and the staff were very friendly when asked how the service worked. A lovely stop off when travelling and would be good for families as there was a large play area/ picnic area as well as great cafe and shop to visit. We will make an effort to return in the future. The only downside is the parking, the spaces were at an angle making it a little awkward but unsure if this is because of how others were parked that day.

We reserved a table for a party of us for breakfast as first time visitors which was simple. We arrived, was shown to our table and ordered. We were given jugs of water as what appeared to be standard which was good. Drinks came first followed by food. Food was well cooked, well presented, tasted good and not over priced. It all came at the same time and was hot which for 14 of us was no mean feat. Would definitely return and also recommend. There is an outside play area for children, tables for the better weather and alpacas and a goat which makes for a pleasant bonding time for the younger generation. Free parking as well although the marked spaces are a little small.

Farm shop - large, light and lovely. Slow service but enjoyed a hot chocolate with the family and it was lovely. The rest of the place was a huge disappointment and slightly dangerous. Outside there were some slow tractor like go karts on a track which the toddler enjoyed with her dad and grandad. That is about the only thing worth seeing or doing. Very few animals. A large slide in the shape of snake that you slide through with a burlap sack. The sacks were soaking wet and the slide was clearly very old and rickety. Couple of swings and a zip line which cause a serious injury the staff did not care one bit about. There was light rain but nothing too bad and I went on the zip line to show my 4yr old it was safe and fun- how wrong I was. The seat itself did look damaged but secure. The first half of the wire was fine but the second half for some reason picked up a huge amount of speed and as it violently hit the end of the line it threw me off into the air and I landed on my neck and lost consciousness for a moment. My 4yr old, husband and in-laws watching the whole thing completely in shock. I could not move my neck, shoulders and struggled to walk - had it not been for not wanting to distress the 4yr old an ambulance would have definitely been called (I am a nurse so never call one when we should!). We carefully made our way back to the farm shop to advise the staff and recommend they close the zip wire in the rain as it is some distance from shop so if the same happened to a child with no supervision they’d struggle to see. The staff member did not care or flinch and was a bit put out when I asked to sit down due to the pain as she wanted to start closing. This was a nasty injury that did not subside for several weeks. Unimpressed with the site and the staff.

Freshly cooked pasties, a well stocked farm shop with food, drink and good quality tourist tat, not to mention a generously sized car park, lovely picturesque location, large outdoor seating area and big cakes!Last year, a resident Springer Spaniel decided to take shelter from the summer heat under our bench table. Came here today by complete chance with my wife and 3 young kids, one of whom is autistic, whilst travelling to Port Isaac. We had a lovely meal that was great value for the portions we got and we had some tasty cakes too. There were signs asking customers to be patient and kind during these busy times, and they were busy, but you wouldn’t have thought so with the good timing of the drinks, followed by food. It was very well organised. The girl that served us and a lady who cleared our table after was lovely and brilliant with our kids. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained with the playgrounds, slides, electric tractors, maize maze and animals. It was fab and a brilliant find. My family and I will definitely return on or off season. One thing I do when reviewing is I look at negative/1* reviews and also how many contributions they’ve made, if there’s anything constructive there or if it’s just pure waffle and ranting; and from our experience, it’s nothing like the 1* reviews portray. Thank you for a lovely meal and service, we’ll definitely be returning.

After a day at Port Isaac we were travelling back to our camp site when on the spur of the moment we decided to stop and explore this Farm Shop. Immediately the kids stopped moaning when they saw the farm animals and Guinea Pigs and the play equipment. We needed a snack so I ordered a Mocha and Scone, with jam and clotted cream, my wife had an Oat Milk Flat White and I asked for a slice of their chocolate cake for our 2 kids to share. The order was taken and brought to our table within 5 minutes, even though they were very busy. The chocolate cake was an enormous slice that the kids demolished in minutes. The drinks were superb and the scone was delicious. But, what was even better was that rather than a tiny pre-packaged amount of clotted cream and jam. They were both served in ramakins and were literally overflowing. Will definitely be visiting again next year when we visit Cornwall again.

Restaurant serves good English food throughout the day with a tempting range of cakes and ice creams. Plenty of tables inside and out, though booking is advisable at busy lunchtimes. This place left me feeling extremely disappointed. We have visited annually for many years, we told our family how great it was and was left feeling quite angry, and unable to enjoy our visit. The cashier at the cafe, was a miserable, rude individual who had no customer service skills at all. She was sarcastic and unhelpful, we felt rushed and hassled to make our order. She even had the audacity to huff when we had to make a different choice because we had asked for something they sold out of. She spoke to me in front of a line of customers without an ounce of respect and I have been left feeling I can never visit again, due to such a negative experience. They even came out to our table and said they could not fulfil our order as they do not have one of the items left, which was a blatant lie as we had seen them on the plate. I will never return here again after many years of recommending it. Such a shame.

Not a single member of staff had a clue what they were were doing and every time we tried to speak to a member of staff they turned away or said we’re busy and were very rude! All we wanted was 3 drinks, we asked many times how do we order and kept getting ignored. Finally someone came to our table but she didn’t have a clue what she was doing and she as a very long process to try and order! Drinks took so long to come that we didn’t even had time to finish them as we had a slot at the slip and slide. I was really looking forward to going here and trying somewhere new but unfortunately I will not be returning. Also as a supervisor of a restaurant myself I would like to suggest that staff are given set job roles for each shift as this will help the shift to run a lot smoother. And make sure all staff know what’s going on so they can inform customers of what to do.

Stopped off here on the way back from Port Isaac. Farm shop and cafe offering were lovely and reasonably priced, but let down by one rude member of staff taking the orders. Whilst queuing, she would bark orders to step aside so serving staff could get outside to deliver orders. When taking my order, the lady was very abrupt and curt. She then ordered me to step aside and go outside. Wow. Quick enough to take my money. My mum was next to be served and, whilst wearing a mask was told “I didn’t hear a word of your order..” proceeded with a tut and eye roll. We both got the impression we were more a nuisance than a customer. This lady needs customer service training and would do well to remember that she works in hospitality. Trying to ask a question. Rude and unhelpful response and I had two small children with me who were very distressed. In these difficult times one needs help not gratuitous rudeness and to be shouted at. Still of course happy to take my money!

It was an overcast day and we came across signs outside the farm to PYO strawberries. We have not seem places where you can do this for a long time so what better way to kill some time. This place is actually very nice. It has a nice farm shop with a nice looking cafe. Toilets are clean. Outside is an adventure playground for young children. The strawberries were nice, ripe and juicy. Field is nicely laid with straw so you do not get muddy. We had great fun. If our children were younger, we would definitely come back on a sunny day to take advantage of the play area, Staff were very friendly too. explaining the cost, where the containers are located and where to go to pick the best strawberries.

We went on a busy afternoon. Had to take a table outside (dogs not permitted in restaurant). Wait for coffee and cake was very long. With other families also waiting long times for their food. Waiting staff seemed very pleasant and managed the frustrated customers politely. Unexpected ‘help out to eat out’ discount was nice. Covid-19: nice to see all staff wearing PPE but customer precautions were not clear. Masks required in shop but not for customers queuing within shop (area) to place food orders / waiting for tables inside restaurant. Will not return.

My husband and I came here on recommendation and were thrilled to find ready made gluten free and dairy free meals in the freezer. I bought a chile bean meal and a chicken vegetable curry which I have thoroughly enjoyed and made two easy delicious meals whilst on holiday! The fresh strawberries and raspberries are delicious and I loved the gift retail area too! I have purchased a rib of beef to take home for family roast on Sunday. What a pleasure to find such a wonderful place and with such friendly and helpful staff ! Thankyou, jayne allinson

The menu is just like my mum would cook. Hearty food and decent portions. Ideal for larger groups and even good for functions if booked ahead.Great for families and younger children as there is also a play area and animal petting area too.Seating indoors and out for nicer days makes this a pleasurable place to relax with family whilst the kids tear about on the playground, sandpit or go karts.Extensive farm and gift shop and in season own pick produce.

Been here a few times and it has always been very good but on this visit the food seems to have lost the excellent touch you get from a good cook who i guess had the day off. Lamb and leek pie with no leeks and tasteless, also the pie consisted of a lamb stew in a bowl with a large flaky pastry top, That is not a pie.as any good cook knows.

We have been coming here on our visits to Cornwall for several years.Always a lovely stop to stock up on fresh fruit and other goodies.Restaurant serves good honest well cooked meals. Sunday lunch has to be booked in advance as they get very busy. Excellent roast beef from owners farm. Beef lasagna is also simply scrumptious. The ladies who work in the restaurant and shop are very friendly and helpful. A real credit to the owners.

We stopped here whilst in Cornwall and were very impressed. I had a delicious veggie roast - The nut roast was handmade and you could tell, it was really yummy. The portions were lovely and generous and the roast parsnip mash was delicious. The prices were also very reasonable. After lunch we walked around outside where there are goats, chickens, sheep and wallabies! We loved seeing the animals. There's loads to do for children with a great play area, a huge zip wire and a big slide. You could see where they were growing pumpkins and other veg too which was nice. The actual farm shop itself was well stocked with some lovely gift options and beautiful cards. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

We called in not knowing anything about this restaurant and were we surprised. We never wanted a lunch just a sandwich if possible, as it was a Sunday and we knew they would be serving lunch. It was no problem at all they served up a plate full of salad and crisps on top of our sandwich which was full of prawns.

We stopped here on the way back from the beach to return to Port Isaac. This is a popular location, especially for families with young children, offering food and a useful play area for the children. There is even pick your own when the produce is In season. There is both inside and outside seating. Some of the outside tables were located inside a marquee. Ok, dogs are not allowed inside but you can’t please everyone! There is a shop selling a variety of produce. Service was friendly and very efficient. Once you have negotiated the interesting parking facilities the stop is fine.

Booked for Sunday lunch today for 4 people and it was lovely. One is vegetarian and the nut roast dinner was the best. Also, the roast beef dinner couldn't be faulted. Fantastic fresh food and lovely smiling staff. No wonder they are so busy. We will definitely be returning.

Stopped here for coffee & cake on a day out. It was a nice day but quite breezy and we could see that no dogs were allowed inside so set up on a table outside. I struggle to see why no dogs are allowed as the cafe area of the shop is so large.....come on this dog friendly Cornwall surely an end could be set outside. The cakes we chose were quite dry and even my husband left some as the portion was far too big and unnecessary. When our coffees arrived half of mine was in the saucer as the waitress had to carry them all the way outside and she was not to enthusiastic when I requested it being topped up. Would we stop here again....no, there are far nicer, friendly options near by.

The actual place is lovely. PYO was fun. We picked sunflowers but when I asked how to cut them, the man gave me clippers and barked at me to "make sure you bring them back"! The play areas are really good. I think the nature of the restaurant and the outdoor seating meant that parents where there to relax and the kids were left to it. Lots of children shouting for mum or dad to watch or to play who were ignored. The shouting didn't stop though so it's pretty loud, not relaxing! We did think about getting some ice creams but the que was very long and the staff did a lot of tutting, huffing and puffing and banging around so we decided not to bother! One group who had kids at the table with them were asking a young employee about an issue with their order, a lady (seemed to be in charged) marched over and said "we haven't got time for this, leave them to it". We promptly paid for some freshly picked strawberries and got out of there! We have been here once before, about 2 years ago and I remember the service and the waiting time for food was equally as shocking which is why we hadn't been back until now. It will probably be another 2 years before we try again!

We had a flying visit to the farm as we saw it on the way back to Polzeath , where we are staying. Wanted to see what it was like as we have heard the strawberries we’re fantastic . We got side tracked and started looking at the farm animals. To our shock we discovered that all the goats were kneeling down, as we looked at them closer we were horrified at the state of their hoofs. The hoofs were so long and desperately needed some tlc. We were that sad-end by what we saw , we even spoke to the lady behind the counter who didn’t seem interested in the slightest !!!!!!!!! We decided not to pick strawberries as we didn’t want to give this place any more money! Especially if they couldn’t even look after their animals properly!!!!!

We visited as recommended by friends who live near by. The place is brilliant for the children to run around and play. With animals, mini tracker ride (for a small fee) big slide, and play area the children were kept thoroughly entertained. It was only when we came to order some ice-creams and drinks did we have an issue. As it was towards the end of the day I will assume they were all tired and had had enough. A smile goes a long way however we were greeted with impatience (only us waiting to be served) there were 4 adults and 4 children so this was a large order but it seemed as though we had really put the staff out, even my friend couldn’t believe it. We then went to find a table which had been cleaned and the staff member cleaning the tables actually tutted at us for sitting at the table she had left her dirty water on, but this was the only table free as she was cleaning the next one to it. The ice-cream and scones were nice enough but the service left a bitter taste. A great shame for a place that could be warm and welcoming which would have ticked all the boxes.
