Two nights running had to wait over 1.5 hours for the food to be served at the table, it was not busy & everyone else seemed to get there food if they were more than one person in they party, they were alright to serve you drinks, the prices at this restaurant are out of this world compared to others, the food is cooked to a good degree but you can get better in a ordinary pub.

Part of Holiday Inn now functions as part of Medway County Court following the closure of Anchorage House and until new premises open near Chatham Dockyard. Until then the restaurant doubles up as a court canteen. Given the restaurant has been described as having all the character of a Harvester as a court canteen it works rather well. The food running the gamut of English pub classics from burgers to shepherds pie and fish and chips, however, comes at premium prices. Over £12 for a ham sandwich and chips seemed a bit steep. Omelette for a basic £2,50 with an additional £1.95 per filling might have been better value. Strange to have to order from a man iPad at tbs table yet to have to pay at the bar is a bit weird. I didn’t leave myself time to finish all my fries or even start an accompanying salad before my case commenced.

For some reason I was under the impression this restaurant would be a bit posh due to it being in a hotel but it was like a harvester. It was not bad though all being said. Staff were polite and helpful but service was a bit slow unfortunately. Food was not too bad- I had the calamari, the sausage linguine and the salted caramel roll which was basically a sticky toffee pudding. This was advertised as coming with raspberry sorbet but instead came out with vanilla ice cream, perhaps in hope that we didn’t notice. Nonetheless it was not terrible but not the best, I probably wouldn’t return unless I was a guest at the hotel. We were walk in customers who did not have a room.

Vi låg över på Holiday Inn och gjorde det enkelt för oss. Valde att äta på deras restaurang. Varken sämre eller bättre än andra brittiska restauranger, alltså ganska slätstruken mat. Trevlig personal.

We went for Christmas dinner and it was a fantastic experience, the staff were very helpful and attentive we were not rushed and nothing seemed to much bother to them. The table was laid out beautifully and we enjoyed the whole experience, We have never been out for Christmas lunch before but We wold definitely go here again.

What a great experience. I took my elderly parents out for Christmas dinner which was a first for us. We were very impressed with all the staff and how attentive and friendly they were without being over bearing. The meal was superb and the helpings were very generous. We did not feel rushed in any way and really enjoyed the whole experience. Very good value for money and I would highly recommend.

Was here with work and happened to be steak night. Had the crab rare bit to start which was delicious. Followed by an 8oz sirloin with salad. Great service. Good quality food. Nice atmosphere. Good solid hotel restaurant

We often come here for meetings,and end up eating at traders.It is quite bistro ,style. The food is fine,quite acceptable,but I think it is time they changed their menu,it is also a bit run down looking,that said We are quite happy to eat here,the staff are lovely,but it can get busy with coach parties,so a bit noisy at times! Not at all romantic.

Fuimos al bar para hablar con el camarero que nos consiguió mi almuerzo y me dio un salmón ahumado caliente. La comida era deliciosa. Mi pareja me comí un sándwich de dedo de pescado con patatas fritas. £10.00 ! ¿Por qué? Fue Pollock, ni siquiera bacalao? Son ustedes loco? ¿me pregunto por qué el comedor está vacío a la hora del almuerzo? Bien, no busques más. Volver a la junta dibujo! Sin duda el chef estará encantado de cocinar en la cocina mientras ella está allí.

The food was of a very good quality, competitively priced considering there are no alternatives within walking distance. The staff are friendly, efficient and seem to genuinely card about their customers having a good experience.

Having eaten here a number of times i saw a marked improvement over the summer. The F&B mangers James, Jamie or similar was fantastic, attentive and was very professional when we were served a shoddy meal. I returned last week he was not there. The food was better but the staff awful. The new manager an Italian man was terrible. He had no control over his team and seemed clueless to what he was doing. I use this place whilst in the area on business. I may now change to premier inn.

We had a lovely evening meal. Two children eating from the kids menu. Myself and my husband had a three course meal. We found the Restaurant team to be friendly, attentive and professional. We had a dedicated waitress ( sorry I can not recall her name) however other team members also interacted with us. It was apparent that the staff cared, as there were residents dining alone and the team gave them extra time interacting without being intrusive. We enjoyed our meal, both steaks cooked perfectly, to our specific request. Overall a lovely evening.

To be honest, unless we are residents, hotels are not typically the first choice of venue for an evening meal out, but we certainly have no regrets over this experience. All the waiting staff were very welcoming, polite and efficient. The menu choice (bearing in mind we were using out TasteCard) was extensive and we were struck by how different the dishes were from the usual offerings. The food arrived promptly, was very well presented, hot and delicious. Value for money (with the 50% discount on food) was outstanding and the wine was reasonably priced. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, which is one of the very few offering a TasteCard discount on a Saturday evening. Will deinitely be returning.

I stay at IHG hotels when I travel for business and this restaurant is a good example of the Holiday Inn brand with a touch of flair. The usual extensive choice menu was available plus the choice of a two course Mexican Buffet. The staff were attentive and friendly - so the experience of eating here was very good.

Me and my work collegue popped in for some late lunch around 5 30pm i sat in the bar area i went up to the bar to order our food only to be kept waiting to be servee the young mousey brown haired girl seemed more intrested in her phone. I have been to holiday inn rochester many times as i live nearby and have never had any problems before i feel i was ignored and disreguarded. Your younger staff need to be trained.

This is a quite good restaurant with overall good service and decent prices. Decoration style is nice and clean, and the food is ok. I liked the burgers very much. They are served in a platter, so you have to finish the "assemble", which is unusual, though interesting...

Currently I am unable to eat gluten/wheat/yeast/dairy or sugar and so have not been able to eat out for a long time.I thought that a carvery would be a good idea (as I can help myself to what I can and can't eat) but was still nervous that roast potatoes had flour on them or vegetables cooked in butter, for example.Kim, the Restaurant Manager (who took my booking) was on duty and had passed on my requirements to the chef. She went off to double check with him what I could and couldn't eat and I assumed that she would return to our table. Instead Ali the Head Chef came over and talked me through all the items on the buffet (salad starter and carvery main). This gave me so much confidence as he had cooked the food and knew exactly what the ingredients were.All the other staff were really helpful too. I've never been anywhere where the Chef has come out from the kitchen to give such helpful and clear guidance on the food. He really knew his stuff as well and had an understanding (as well as empathy) of my condition. Thank you very much Holiday Inn, we will be back very soon.

Had a great meal at the holiday inn, the food was amazing and the staff were very helpful. Our waitress Kylie was great, always checking that we was okay and that we had enough drinks and was very friendly with the younger children which made them feel at ease. Very professional. There was a good gap between starters and main and we wasn't made to feel we needed to rush either. Would happily eat there again and would recommend it to others.

We went to this restaurant as we had visited a traders restaurant at another hotel, except for the menu which was the same, the food was average and the service was dreadful. It proofs that the quality of a restaurant is not the menu or the chef but the management, would to bother returning.

The restaurant was not particularly full however the length of time had to wait for a simple steak was unbelievable (1 hour) queries were met by puzzles looks from the few staff working!When it came it was overlooked but so hungry couldn't wait! Very very poor

Most mid-range chain hotel restaurants tend to be average at best but my experience of eating in both the bar and restaurant at this hotel was much better than expected. Ate there mainly due to convenience but the food was actually of a very good standard and the 'meal deal' including 2 glasses of wine/beer/soft drink per person for £20 a head excellent value. Would definitely eat there again as opposed to looking for a good pub restaurant close by.

Went to the bar to order some food, and found the printed menu had no prices.We asked the man behind the bar who said he had no idea what the prices were andhe then just walked off.After some better customer service from one of the young ladies who was serving,we ordered a sundae and banana pancakes with ice cream.Bearing in mind no other food was being ordered, we had to wait nearly half an hour.It was not until I complained did it magically appear!I am only glad I was not staying at the hotel if this was the quality of their customer service.

Visited this restaurant with friends and family as it was my mothers 60th birthday. As the 7 of us arrived we were told our booking was not on the sheet. The two waitresses at the entrance were very helpful and told us they would arrange a table for us, which was done very quickly. we were sat down and given menus and the waiter was back quite soon to take our orders.The menu was clean and well presented, the restaurant had about another three tables dining-but it was a Monday! Our starters took a very long time to arrive (considering they were mainly cold starters) but were pleasant. The staff took a long time to clear the plates and i still had not received the butter i had requested from the restaurant manager. After Quite a while our main courses started to arrive, we had mostly ordered steak and were looking forward to our meal.My 10oz medium rare rib-eye steak arrived well done and was definitely underweight, as was another. The hollandaise sauce i ordered was split and i received no side orders. 5 minutes later my fathers well done sirloin steak came and it was bloody, a friends sirloin came and it was very tough. Still later more food was brought out, by which time half the food was cold as we all wanted to eat together.At this point my mother called over the restaurant manager to complain and we decided to go.We offered to pay for the starters we had, but were told that was not necessary.All the staff were very polite and the food was well presented, but nobody seemed to know what was going on the whole time we were there.

We bought vouchers at reception £20 for a 2 course meal or £25 for 3. This includes 2 drinks (beer, house wine or soft drink) It was attractively served and we would have difficulty managing 3 courses! Staff were very pleasant.

We ate in the restaurant with family, the waitresses were very friendly and helpful throughout our meal however, the food which was OK took an age to arrive at the table despite it being relatively empty, the staff did apologise they had forgotten to put our main course order through, it did arrive quite quickly after this point..in total for a three course meal we were there for just over three hours.. One waitress although very pleasant proceeded to chew gum while taking our order and delivering our food..and the room was very cold which the manager did try to sort out but to no avail. The food was perfectly acceptable organisation of the service could however use some work as it appeared disorganised and slow.

Breakfast...cold plates, with a clear film on them possibly a dishwasher issue? Asked for a clean plate and was rudely told that she would get me another, but it would be exactly the same!! Returned with a clean plate, and silently offered it to me befire walking away. I was so incensed by this poor attutude that I didn't bother to eat breakfast.

Proper pub & what lovely people & a perfect Sunday lunch. Called late (lovely girl who answered) but squeezed us in pn the Gang table by the fire. Much appreciated Cliff & Lauraine.
