Tottington Manor Restaurant & Bar in Horsham

Excellent food served by a young attentive staff. A good choice of locally produced food in a creative well put together menu. Excellent choice of cocktails and wines with many by the glass which is a refreshing change to most restaurants. Tables sensibly spread out unlike so many who try and cram too many in. Easy parking makes for a great night out. Would highly recommend.

Found this place by chance during a drive across the downs and booked it for our anniversary. It has recently been refurbished and the dining area is really nice. not many tables so I guess booking is a must. The food was all well prepared and the quality was excellent. Great range of fod choices too. Definitely one to return too

Amazing lunch. Beautiful setting. Food just gorgeous. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Private dining room for a family event. Top of our ‘ go to ‘ list and would recommend.

Visited recently with friends. Very friendly helpful service and delicious food. Between us we sampled quite a lot of the menu and no one was disappointed. Good wine list too. We sat outside and the only niggle is that the seat cushions are worn out so it was hard to sit upright at the table!

2 years ago this was my go to restaurant. Even had my post wedding dinner here. The menu was fantastic and spent numerous weekends here. Today's mint 'infused' abomination of a pasta was a disgrace on a plate. How this was ever passed as a dish suitable for consumption. I am so upset it has been ruined ,if only i could rewind your menu to when it was fantastic in 2022..I won't be returning again sadly

Set in a glorious bucolic situation with food to match the surroundings. The mussel dish is superb, the pork belly delightful and the baked cod five star. Not overly expensive and very suitable for a family summer lunch on the balcony. Oh! and the mocha pud brilliant. Very friendly and skilful servive.

We booked the Manor Room for an 80th family birthday celebratory meal. I cannot praise the staff enough! They were welcoming, polite, efficient and very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was outstanding, it all arrived at the same time, hot and flavoursome. Our mum was made to feel very special as they bought out a dessert with candle and sang "happy birthday" The whole experience will be one to treasure, thank you

Sbsolutely first class food , wine and service. Tottington has amde it as a great West Sussex eating place. Moderately expensive but very very good value. Magnificent Moules dish which I highly recommend and a chocolate torte to die for!

Absolutely beautiful location staff were absolutely perfect professional but super friendly very attentive. Ordered starters local meatballs and clams beautiful couldn’t fault it. Set the bar high for the main course. Ordered a sharing roast platter. More than enough food quality was incredible all local produce did feel slightly guilty tucking into the lamb with the baby lambs a stones through over the hedge in the field. Perfect food great wines.

We have visited many times but the newly launched Terra restaurant is lovely - sophisticated and relaxed. The food is gorgeous and the team are welcoming and friendly. Also great to see so many local Sussex producers and companies on offer. The singer in the bar was a lovely addition. We will definitely be back!

Had a great afternoon tea with 7 friends at this restaurant. The service was warm, friendly & efficient. The sandwiches, cake selection & varieties of tea did not disappoint. The presentation of all was lovely. Thanks to James & team for a memorable afternoon. A hidden gem which was a fraction of the cost of afternoon teas elsewhere. We intend to return at some stage! We've literally just returned home from Mother's Day lunch! I discovered this restaurant with a cream tea treat back in the Summer and was so impressed then that I decided to book lunch for today. What a treat! Everything and I mean everything was first class: The table layout, lighting, ambience, space and comfort. The service -friendly without being intrusive and on point. The toilets with upmarket toiletries The food! We knew as soon as the plates came out - hot! .. and presented beautifully that it would laste good. Why don't more places recognise that we enjoy with our eyes before anything else? All of our Sunday roasts were delicious -proper crispy potatoes, crispy yorkshires with piping hot gravy (and I don't even like Yorkshires) a selection of interesting and flavourful veg, tender chicken and perfectly cooked lamb and beef. Glorious puddings - for another serving of the rhubarb bread and butter pudding with vanilla custard, I would probably marry the chef. Well done Tottington Manor to the whole team - we family of four with tiny baby in tow, adored you! One request - please don't go all uber posh and start serving weird food like 10 course taster menus with strange names and getting stars and charging mad prices!

First time visiting for dinner last night and I have to say from the moment I called to make a reservation to the end of the evening our experience was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and upbeat. The food was lovely and the service was wonderful, I haven’t been anywhere recently where I have had such good service, it has been a while! We couldn’t fault this place. We have booked again for Sunday lunch next month!

Went for lunch today with my wife and we both had a very tasty meal of sea bass and steamed duck legs. Service was good and surroundings fabulous. A return is scheduled for February.

This is a wonderful venue. The food is stunning and the staff are friendly and efficient. I had my birthday event here and cannot recommend it enough just amazing

We booked for a family evening meal and we were served by James who did a superb job at welcoming us. We ordered the ox cheek, sea bass, roast turkey and turkey burger, all of which were cooked to perfection and were excellent. The restaurant had a lovely ambience and the surroundings were picturesque. Many thanks for the excellent service and food, will highly recommend to friends and family.

I took my mother for afternoon tea as part of her 70th birthday and never having been before, we were not sure what to expect. Well- the afternoon tea was exceptional!!! Never ending tea, delightful sandwiches, and the best cakes and scones we’ve ever tasted!! ( and we’ve tasted a fair few!!). Next add beautiful surroundings, we sat outside and had a table with a fire in the middle, blankets and we were lovely and toasty!! Finally, add the staff who were attentive, friendly and even the owner Helen, was just so lovely to talk to - spoiling our dogs with treats…. Absolutely can’t wait to return xxxxx

Thank you to everyone at Tottington Manor for helping to make our Mum’s special birthday such a memorable occasion on 5 November. It’s at least 20 years since I’ve visited, and the hotel decor and food are just fabulous! Our birthday afternoon tea was plentiful, delicious and excellent value and service was warm, friendly and efficient, even though the hotel was busy with other parties. We’ll definitely be back!

I was down on business and stayed at the manor. The room was nice simple and clean. I ate in the restaurant which was really good. Much better than expected, great menu every thing fresh and good value

We were tucked away in a small room not a great experience. Service slow 2 functions at same time. Bit Mutton dressed as lamb on price.

Having marked this restaurant down on my last visit I can now retract all that. The menu is very interesting, service wonderful, ambience delightful and as I had always hoped this restaurant will become one of if not the place to eat in West Sussex. Well worth a visit.

My daughter took my husband and I out for lunch to say thank you for helping her with a business venture. The food was really special and great choice for me as I’m gluten intolerant. Lots to choose from. Service was first class too. Loved the decor in the restaurant and the living wall which smelt amazing. It reminded us of the walls (artificial) and garlands we have been making for Christmas for a large local football club. Look forward to seeing the place decorated for Christmas as I’m sure it will look stunning. Very impressed with the whole set up and the ambience. My husband particularly liked the salad bowl with choice of protein and sauces. I enjoyed the duck which was perfectly cooked. My daughter loved the lemon meringue pie and the chocolate mousse was amazing

Absolutely delicious afternoon tea. Lovely Hoogly teas. Cakes and scones were all made at venue and were exceptional. All topped off by good service and great views of South downs.

We had lunch here and must say it was really good. Sat outside and enjoyed a Gluten Free Roast. Staff very knowledgeable about Coeliac requirements. Confidence to eat out is always essential for Coeliacs and this restaurant gives that confidence. We will be back.

We stayed in the little duplex within the Manor House and had dinner and breakfast there. The setting is beautiful and we felt very welcome. The evening food was lovely, as was breakfast. We found the staff to be attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The Manor House is laid out very well, old in style with contemporary decor. This is a lovely place to eat, stay and relax with family or as a couple.

Found this gem after googling, reviews were good so I booked. Certainly not disappointed. I hadn’t booked a table outside as weather was looking a bit hit and miss, the weather turned out to be nice so requested an outdoor table when we arrived, they managed to accommodate us. Service by the waitresses and waiters was impeccable. Always had a smile, was friendly and helped with any request. The food was fab. I’m generally not a fan of Sunday roast’s in pubs or restaurants but this was amazing. We went for a sharing roast and it was the perfect size, left just the right amount of room for desert. The views when sitting outside just added to the experience. Will 100% be back.

Sadly It’s not often that I feel the urge to write a review but after attending A night at the Musicals at Torrington Manor last night we where all so blown away with the staff, especially Helen, such an attentive host, the delicious food, the setting with views of the South Downs and the amazing singer Dan Chisnall, that I just had to recommend, superb value for money and an unforgettable evening. We where delighted to spot Torrington Manor was open as we headed out this afternoon. Driving past we hoped it would still be open a little later and my goodness what a welcome return to a beer on the way home from a walk We sat in the garden but they had a fabulous marquee set up and even offered blankets as the temperature dropped Superb friendly service , very attentive coming over to chat about the adorable lambs across the way but importantly to see if we needed more drinks etc without just asking that ! Fabulous service Totally covid compliant , face masks by all staff . Felt totally safe and happy We really hope to return soon for a meal

We had a booking for lunch inside the restaurant, the tables were very well spaced out and it was obvious that the decorations had been refreshed. The staff were very helpful and very willing to please in these changing times. As to the meal itself, it was excellent and we spoilt ourselves and had three courses! Only had lunch did not stay in hotel so cannot comment.

A nice restaurant although a very quiet night with only 8 people in on a Saturday night. The food was very good would recommend the prawn started as well as the pork. A good if not great choice of wines we had an enjoyable evening.

The restaurant is large, bright and clean but if you’re looking for an intimate setting it’s not the place for you. The food was a mixed bad, I ordered the twice cooked roast pork and it was delicious but a very small cut, just enough for a child. The accompanying 2 potatoes were good too but the side vegetables were bland. There were jugs of water on the table which was a nice touch and something other restaurants should take notice of. Overall the portions were small and both the meals and drinks were expensive. I arrived home at 3pm so having eaten out I really should have been satisfied for the remainder of the day, but I was hungry again by 6pm.

Delicious meal eaten at a small round table in the window with the sun pouring in lighting up the lovely view. A friendly, efficient waitress served us. Well worth making a trip out to.

We ordered Ham Hock terrine piccalilli and chicken cranberry bacon terrine with fruit chutney, we expected it to come at least a piece of sourdough or similar, but nothing! We asked for bread to go with these starters. We were charged just short of £12 just for one piece of bread each and it wasn’t good quality bread, the amount delivered to the table was approximately a quarter of a french stick! What a RIP OFF, the management obviously have not eaten in good restaurants where this comes as standard with most starters like soup terrine pate prawn cocktail etc...We would have given this place a higher score as the food was good, they had bothered to light the fire and there was a singer as you walk in; the festive ambience seemed improved. BUT unfortunately the service was a little poor.

I have been to Tottington Manor on several occasions and never been disappointed. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The staff are very helpful and friendly and all this is set in the delightful setting of the South Downs. I can recommend Tottington Manor to everyone, whether it is just for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner or family celebration. I have already booked my next visit and hopefully you will too.

Very quiet and relaxing. Clean and charming. Easy parking. Felt hungry when we left though as reduced portions compared to when we visited last time. You now have to pay for bread which previously was a nice touch on arrival to go with your meal, at £8 for 4 people it’s not welcoming! Beef stroganoff was extremely disappointing. Hardly any portion there were more sugar snap peas than stroganoff, a few pieces of meat no sauce it barely existed they must have run out as it was more like a taster. The mash was very sloppy and spread thinly to use space up on plate. The Duck was tasty but little dinner on the plate. The choc brownie was a small square so no chance of overindulgence! For £16.50 for a main course it was overpriced and certainly not quality over quantity....

Can’t believe I’ve not heard about this beautiful place. Set underneath the downs. Spectacular views. Sunday lunch the very best I’ve had in a long while. Competitive prices, staff spot on, very professional. Will definitely return.....soon.

We'd failed to get a table at another pub nearby so stopped here instead. While it styles itself as a 'Manor' its origins are as a C18th farmhouse, much extended during the C19th and C20th. Pleasant enough but not as grand as it makes out. There is an extensive garden with tables and a spectacular view, and a spacious car park. Arriving at 1.45pm we were told we could order off the bar menu (pub meals) at 2pm otherwise we'd have to order from the restaurant menu. A bit odd, especially since the restaurant wasn't all that busy, but no great inconvenience. We just waited at a table outside in the sun, enjoying the amazing view of the South Downs and duly ordered a fish & chips and a plate of whitebait. Both were perfectly cooked, well presented, generously proportionedm, hot and delicious. The home-made sauce tartare was a revelation. You should bottle it and sell it to customers to take home.

We stayed in the hotel for a night and decided to use the restaurant here. There is a set menu and you have the choice of 1, 2 or 3 courses. The choices would appeal to varied tastes and our meals were well presented, perfectly cooked and very tasty, all the staff were attentive but not intrusive and we had an extremely enjoyable evening.

We have eaten here everyday of the week over the years and been happy with menu! We chose Tempura prawns which they had run out of and replaced with squid which was good apart from the very small amount even for a starter, shame! Good job we had a small piece of bread and butter. The salmon and tarragon risotto was lovely, small piece of salmon compared to other restaurants. The sticky toffee pudding was a very small square of cake really disappointing. Staff as usual were fab!

Fabulous customer service from arrival to departure. The set lunch menu was comprehensive and excellent value. Drinks prices were also competitive. The restaurant area was comfortable and of a high quality. Food quality was excellent and delivered in a timely fashion. Tottington Manor Hotel is definitely worth a visit for any dining occasion.

what an experience it was too! hilarious fun and we were fully entertained all evening. Food and staff lovely as usual. This place is one of the best places to relax and eat good food in this area by far. Vegan option was very good indeed....nothing is too much trouble for the staff here.

Great choice on the menu. One of the best meals I've had for a long time.i had roast pork served with a good selection of vegetables and served hot. I also had bread and butter pudding which was light and delicious. Friendly service. A very cosy hotel in a beautiful location with scenic views of the downs.

We came here for our annual get together with my husband's stepmother. The food and service was very good as usual. My daughter found it hard to choose there were a couple of starters, three main courses and three desserts, eventually she narrowed it down! As the restaurant was not busy there was not a long wait for the food which was all cooked to order.

We all chose the prawn starter, a little disappointed in the king prawns but it was small and tasty. The swordfish was amazing although the zesty potatoes didn’t quite taste right with the plate of food. The pork was delicious. Dessert was bread and butter pudding, superb but on the small side compared to other desserts we have previously ordered. Staff were very attentive.

Good food in a delightful setting. I have visited this restaurant many times, and have never been disappointed. Meals are cooked to order and the poached pear in red wine is to die for!

Even zoeken, want op het platteland met uitzicht op de schapen deze deftige zaak (op z'n retour). We troffen nog net een tafeltje want op een doordeweekse dag geheel vol met vnl oudere mensen. De bediening doet wat nerveus aan maar het eten is uitstekend. We hadden een heerlijk 2 gangen lunchmenu voor 17 pond. Wijn per glas nogal duur, dus we hebben een fles genomen. (sowieso een tip voor het eten in restaurants in Engeland)

Went here today for a birthday family lunch. Amazing location, well kept garden area, but massive let down on management and customer service (staff rude and unfriendly ). Food wasn't very good either. Not welcoming and lacking in personality . Big disappointment over all .

We had an excellent two course set menu lunch, starters and mains and then a very good coffee. What made it excellent was although the food wasn't fine dining it was getting pretty close, at decent gastro pub prices. Starters were good, mains very good (duck excellent) and well presented. The venue is elegant and unhurried. All in all, I had heard good things (Mum lives nearby) and it exceeded expectations. Recommended.

If I could find anything wrong with our visit i’d be nit-picking! Excellent service, tasty food in a lovely scenic setting looking out across the South Downs. Plenty of menu choices with a meal for 4 coming in at around £25 per head. Unhurried lunch with no pressure from the staff to leave. We will be back!

We have had numerous visits to the restaurant for weekday lunch which is always good. Sunday lunch was exceptional, no skimping on veg and a varied selection bought to the table. Starters and desserts were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked if not better. Relaxing atmosphere and view, parking easy and great service.
