Monday to Friday stay, Room looked OK, Dinner was basic, asked for a extra bread roll told that for the price we payed we could only have one or could buy another. Our room was not serviced all week, had difficulty working the shower, taps hard to turn on and off sometimes they came back on after you turned them off. No where to put anything in the bathroom only on the floor. Asked for a safety mat for shower got the most disgusting stained mat, it must be the one in use as photos on other reviews show it. No cups washed, no tea coffee or milk replenished got towels with holes No wonder this hotel is almost empty You could rate this hotel with minus star

The hotel itself is nice but please don’t presume the pictures match up to the actual thing ie : breakfast , they come with 1 sausage and thought I was going to die when I asked for 2 ( I didn’t get 2 ). But my main 2 issues are the hotel lobby stairs, I can honestly say they haven’t been hoovered for a while, I was there 4 days and they wasn’t hoovered and they look disgusting, secondly they let everyone sit at the main door of the hotel and smoke and it looks bad, there’s fag butts everywhere and it makes the hotel smell. I would of defiantly given the hotel a 4 star review if general cleanliness was looked after a bit better, it’s not good when your flip flops are sticking to the floor in the breakfast room.

I stayed for 3 nights in a single room, which has been recently refurbished. Really comfy bed and very nice bathroom. Breakfast was very tasty and meals at the bar good value, I recommend the lasagna. I’m a travel photographer and wanted somewhere not too expensive so I could crash in the evening and take pictures around the Torbay area. This hotel is good value for money, and is a short distance from the beach. Very friendly welcoming staff, I will be staying here again. By the way if you like cream tea in the afternoon, then try it here, it is fab! It was the best scone I’ve had in ages. For those of you thinking about traveling on your own, I say go for it, you’ll meet plenty of interesting people along the way.

Staff very helpful. Nothing to much trouble. The only let down food evening meals have all got sauces/ garlic on. Not everyone's choice when asked for something else you get a negative response. They had 2 coaches loads in a not enough seating for evening entertainment so much of a let down. Staff need to sort out and address them issues.

Bed breakfast and evening meal. All food served hot, tasty and very quick after ordering. Service with a smile from every member of staff.

Visited Torbay Court Hotel with GB coach tours, hotel is in a great location close to sea front. The food was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Had a twin room which was a good size, would definitely recommend Torbay Court to anyone thinking of visiting Paignton.

We have just returned from a weekend break at the Torbay Court Hotel in Paignton and it was a good one, the hotel was in a good position just 5 minutes walk away from the town centre, the food was good and the entertainment was excellent. The only down side was the size of the bedroom, I nearly always get allocated a poor room where ever I go. There was just room to walk around the bed, there was a stand to put your case on but no room to put it, there was one chair which was at the end of the bed which restricted the moving between the bed and the chair,, the bathroom was suitable although the shower, no bath, only delivered warm water and no shelves meant everything had to be carried in and out on the bathroom. On saying that to be fair the rest of the stay was good and I would probably return if I contacted the hotel and was able to have a larger bedroom.

Booked through majestic tours and paid £27 per night for bed breakfast and evening meal. The outside of the building looked a little run down as did reception. Our room was recently refurbished with new bathroom beds and carpets and was very comfortable. The heating could have been left on longer. The food served to all diners at the same time was excellent. Fresh vegetables served hot and nicely presented. Breakfast was equally good. We liked this hotel and Paignton served as a good place to look around south Devon

Paignton is a lovely seaside town, lots of places to visit nearby. We stayed in the Torbay Court Hotel once the hot water was fixed we were ok, the meals were excellent.

This was a surprise weekend away with my husband. We stayed bed and breakfast. The staff were very helpful. Hotel looks a bit shabby on outside but clean, newly decorated and comfortable inside. Breakfast was standard buffet and full English.

Many of the diners at the evening meals are from coach parties, who have made their choices at breakfast. Members of our party were very pleased with the variety of choices and mixture of vegetables offered during the week, We all looked forward to our evening meals, and were never disappointed. The staff were very polite and efficient

Great location.Super staff; Tasty food, Lively entertainment. Bedroom comfortable and recently refurbished too. My only criticism is that when you ring reception...you will be lucky if you get a response. Night staff in particular, need to have a radio link to the reception phone...this would be a major plus!

food not brilliant, bar prices very expensive was very dissapointed took 80 pensioners for annual weekend away £9.80 for double house brandy and lemonade, but the most thing that upset us was some of the ladies was 5-10 min late for evening meal and when they sat down was told they could not have their starter, I couldnt believe I asked too spk to the manager only to be told she was to busy dishing up the meals too speak to me I was appauled ,WILL NOT BE RETURNING

Having on numerous visits for Sunday Lunch, we decided to hold our Golden Wedding Luncheon at the hotel. From initial chats with Kayley and Lindsay the arrangements had been made, menus selected, etc. Invites sent out and numbers collated with guests choices of starter, main and sweet made, timings worked out for the service to commence at 12h40 with an announcement at 12h30 for guests to take their places in the dining room, starters arrived at 12h40 on time. An excellent meal was served and with the seating plan each guest was served with their choices with no errors, well done waiting staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel at all. One guest has commented that Torbay Court's luncheon the Ritz would be hard pressed to provide a meal of the quality. One thing is noticeable is the use of fresh ingredients which make up around 90% of the items served. Our 8 year old grand-daughter loved the meal and Kayley made her day by giving her a grand inspection tour of the hotel, still mentioned in chats. The hotel is gradually being refurbished and we spot the newest when we visit. We are both looking forward to lunch on Sunday 1st May.

We stayed at this hotel from Monday the 25th February until Friday 29th February 2016. The hotel is still being renovated but our room was clean and the shower room was fantastic. The food was excellent and the staff were very welcoming. There was entertainment every evening, some better than others. We would like to compliment the Manager and her team for the welcome and help given to us during our stay.

Came here with friends on a coach trip . the food was of the usual standard for these types of places ,good wholesome and some choice . Service was average .Some days better than others depending on your waiter/waitress .

Just returned from another stay in this hotel. Staff just can't do enough for you. Rooms newly refurbished and warm and comfortable. Only booked B&B this time as found evening meal too much eat! However, found out that guests can order from bar menu (which includes food cooked to order) and still eat in restaurant which is a good option - still very generous portions. Although this is a basic hotel it has all you need for a break away, easy walking distance to seafront, pier and shops and steam trains/bus station with light entertainment each evening. Suitable for older age group or those wanting good accommodation in central location.

The staff are excellent and can't do enough for you. It's not the RITZ but you get what you pay for ! Not a great menu tend to caterer for the older generation portions wise. Drinks a bit pricey at the bar not much change for a pint from a fiver. But the staff are excellent love 'em all.

Nice 3star Hotel. Very friendly helpful staff. Comfortable recently refurbished room with modern shower, excellent breakfast and 3 course dinner with plenty of choice. Also good evening entertainment.

Visited early September 2015. Shabby in places at present but under refurbishment and will be OK when finished. Excellent for, food, comfort, cleanliness and great staff in respects. Entertainment enjoyable for a relaxing sing along and dance. When the decor is improved this hotel will be perfect in all respects.

good choice and was always hot, great service,if there is nothing on the menu that you don't fancy then the chef will make you something else. A little disapointed that there was only turkey dinner on the sunday for evening meal there where other choices of something different but would have prefered a beef roast but that only my preference

We stayed nearby the Torbay Court and were completely put off of the place by an extremely loud foul-mouthed male kitchen worker who could be heard swearing morning and evening. We were not the only people who commented on this as it was the talk of the breakfast room at our B and B.

We ate here on Mothers Day, cannot fault the food or service we received. Great value for money too. Will definitely be going back for a Sunday Roast.

food is very nice, soups are brilliant. big choice of excellent meat and fish dishes, vegetarian dishes are tasty and spicy. waitresses are polite and smart. asia is the best in devon. will stay again.
