I have visited a few times here for drinks with friends but today was the first time trying the Sunday lunch. Everything was perfect, the best Sunday lunch I've had for a while (the roast potatoes were amazing!) The staff were friendly, attentive and made us both feel welcome, thank you so much, ill definitely be back soon!

We visited with friends, was very quiet downstairs, went upstairs, only us there. been a few time now and its always dead. maybe cos its out of the main strip, staff didn't look like they wanted to be there either. will try again one weekend and hopefully catch someone in there..! Highlight - Sat in window seats watching heavy traffic and dogs urinate on the bollards.

Updated review - February 24 Today we went for breakfast. The menu has been updated, and my husband was disappointed to see the Za'atar Eggs had been taken off. All is forgiven though! He had the Shakshuka - delicious, and I had the peppered mushrooms - absolutely fabulous, really nicely balanced flavours and beautifully creamy, but not too much. Complements to the chef. Review from Sept 23 - We called in on Friday morning for late brunch. The guy serving (I assume the manager) was really welcoming, friendly and helpful. I had the chorizo, halloumi and muffin skewers. I was spot on. Couldn't fault it. So much so, we went back for brunch on Saturday!! This time, I had the small breakfast. I'm not usually a fan of hash browns, but theirs is home made. The rest of the plate was clearly quality ingredients. Sausage, bacon, vine tomatoes, black pudding, baked beans, mushroom, deliciously cheesy scrambled eggs, toast, and obviously, has brown. Really good quality food, good value for money, and again, the staff were fab. This time we had Hugo who was utterly delightful. Really helpful, friendly and pleasant. We'll definitely be going be going back!

Went for a Xmas bottomless brunch, the food and drinks were fabulous, would definitely recommend the turkey flatbread. Lots of choices for drinks, we particularly liked the cocktails. Would like to mention Millie and Alfie who were very friendly and attentive.

Me and a friend from work visited on our lunch as we had heard good things..50 minutes later and were still without the lunch we ordered. An egg salad and steak sandwich. We were the only customers at this point. 35 minutes in we were told the egg salad was not yet ready as they hadn’t got the water hot enough to boiler the egg. Once the food did arrive the egg salad had peppers on which my friend is allergic to. We asked if it could be boxed up as we were now well over our lunch break. Well it was thrown in with blue roll attached! We were expected to pay full price for this also had we not complained. Overall rubbish experience! Shocking. Poor customer service, would not recommend.

I've been a number of times for food and drinks but this was our first breakfast experience. A very friendly welcome (as always) and attentive staff. There wasn't very much on the menu that my pescatarian child wanted - he would usually opt for a vegetarian breakfast with veggie sausages but the options given were a little on the adventurous side for him (shakshuka, za'atar eggs or loaded avocado toast) so we asked for a breakfast muffin with none of the meat on there and a side of beans which came out just as requested and no questions asked. It was delivered with a smile. It was too early for anything from the lunch menu or he would have had a fish finger sandwich and chips. My husband and I chose the tiger breakfast that comes with a cute little bloody mary. It was all really tasty. The cheesy scrambled eggs were divine! There was plenty on the plate to fill us (and then some) but it wasn't overwhelming. We will definitley be back for breakfast but it will probably be just the two of us. My teenager will be happy to come with us for lunch but probably not breakfast again. If you haven't been here before give it a visit. The experience has always been pleasant and the decor is very instagramable!

Excellent food and brilliant service, great choices of quality food cooked perfectly. Been here a few times this month as a couple, with friends or with grandkidsand every time the foods been perfect. Steak nights are really good with sides to suit everyone from the health conscious to the indulgent. We love their fruit platters and the choice of sweets is mouthwatering. The staff couldn't be nicer and the place is always spotless. Kids favourite is their pizza. Can't wait to go back their chef is superb.

My experience with The Hide was somewhat of a mixed bag. Let me explain. My partner and I decided to go here for our anniversary - we are both big steak fans and wanted to try something new. Upon arriving, the restaurant was very quiet - for a Tuesday I expect this and it served us well. The lady who served us was nice, if a little clueless about what they did/didn't sell but more on that later. We sat down at a window table and was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the whole restaurant looked from where we were sitting. We decided on a corner-window seat as we didn't know how full the place would get later and didn't want to get in the way. I sat directly in the corner and was slightly dismayed to see that I had sat DIRECTLY under a speaker. It was rather loud and I had to raise my voice higher than normal to be heard by my partner sitting only 3 feet away. The server came to take our drinks order, and this is where things started to sour slightly for me. As a steak fan, I am also a huge fan of a good red wine to go with it. I asked the server "What wines do you have?" her response..."Red, White and Rose" - I couldn't help but chuckle slightly, so I asked what reds she had, she didn't know. The first thing any server should know is what they are serving, what is available and how much it is, she knew none of these things and instead had to go across the restaurant to the till, to check. She came back to me there was a Shiraz, Malbec and Merlot - not exactly a billionaire's banquet as you can see, but I reluctantly got the Shiraz - it was vile. I then got a pint of some-thing or other, and that tasted lovely. Partner got a gin and a cider, and again, no complaints there. Next comes the food. Like so many, we had looked online to see what was available and had chosen our meal, when we arrived, very little of it was available and for a 'steakhouse' the choice was rather lacking. We looked at the "menu" - which was a small piece of white paper with some items on it and appeared to have seen better days. For an establishment as outwardly beautiful as this, it was a big let-down to be handed a flyer - rather ruins the atmosphere in my opinion. We both got a rump with all the trimmings and a calamari starter - no complaints there, food was lovely, steak was cooked to perfection and the trimmings were delicious even if the peppercorn was slightly too peppery for my tastes. We had a great time there listening to the slow atmospheric music which was being played - if rather loudly and paid for our meal. The meal came to around £80, which was more than reasonable for what we had. My last point of contention is with the server's behaviour as we left. We started to make our way over to the door to leave, and she barely looked up from her phone to say goodbye - found this rather rude considering there was no-one else in the restaurant. All in all, a rather mixed experience. I would go again, but I would sit in a different place and lower my expectations going forwards. Special mention to the chef however, as he was lovely and came to see how our food was - you don't see that nowadays and it was a welcome addition to our experience. Probably see you again on Valentine's Day The Hide, even if the experience wasn't an overwhelmingly positive one, I believe you can do better and I look forward to seeing you try.
