I would like to thank lia for being an amazing waitress and thanks all the kitchen staff for the amazing food and not to forget the amazing drinks from the bartender we all appreciate the dedication from the team and a big thanks from all of us from the stag party

First time trying this place, after having a good experience in their Ponteland branch a couple of years ago I was looking forward to trying the Newcastle one. Oh how disappointing it was! When we arrived there was only probably about 10 to 15 other people in the place, not very busy at all. We were a table of 8 so nothing too much to cater to. We ordered drinks, which seemed to take ages to come out, setting the tone for the night. The menus were difficult to read as they were photocopies of photocopies and terrible quality, especially in the dim lighting as most restaurants have. We finally ordered, only to be told that someone would have to change their starter after 5 mins because they didn't have enough of that option for the people who had ordered. They came and asked if we wanted more drinks after 50 minutes, still no sign of the starters. We ordered more drinks and commented that food would be nice too. Starters finally arrived after 1 hour from being seated. We finished those, and then it was a further hour to wait for the mains to arrive. Which arrive with mac and cheese like lava (though we were warned, that's fine) however everything else was barely warm and had clearly been sitting out for a while. Plates were cleared and we were given dessert menus. Again there was substitutions as they didn't have all options after ordering. We had to chase down the staff to be able to order and again food took ages to arrive From start to finish, it was over 3 hours, most of which was spent waiting. The bill arriving was the only thing that happened fast Really not what you expect at approx £500 for 8 people to dine. Will not be back.

Best food and service was amazing! Jasmine was so attentive as was the rest of the team! Birthday board with shots as we already had desert was a great touch!! Thanks again!!

Absolutely amazing time here! Bit of a rocky start with a roudy table on arrival. This could’ve gone wrong quickly but the team were so professional and swiftly moved us tables and on a Friday night I imagine this was a bit difficult. Food and drinks was amazing our server Jasmine couldn’t be more helpful and attentive with the great recommendation of the brisket hash (unreal). Overall a brill night will deffo be back!

Viajamos regularmente a Newcastle y hemos estado en una serie de grandes restaurantes en la ciudad. Tomahawk sin embargo ha sido fácilmente nuestra peor experiencia, en particular por el precio que paga. Ya cuando llegamos, notamos la caótica “organización” en el restaurante. Nos hicieron esperar un par de minutos (mientras el gerente y los empleados charlaban) , luego nos dijeron que tomáramos una copa en el bar. Menos de un minuto después nos dijeron que nos dirigiéramos a nuestra mesa. No el fin del mundo, pero parecía un poco extraño. La mesa era muy pegajosa (hasta un punto que las servilletas de papel se rompieron cuando las recogimos). El menú estaba tan sucio y pegajoso que pensamos en irnos, lo que (desafortunadamente) no hicimos. La camarera sin embargo los cambió sin dudarlo, ni sorpresa (no contra los nuevos y limpios, sino contra los de nuestra mesa vecina, que estaban menos sucios). El tiempo de espera fue terrible. Estábamos esperando por siglos para obtener el menú y los pedidos de bebidas tardaron inesperadamente. La comida tardó 90 minutos (después de ordenar finalmente) en servirse. Después de la cena, nadie parecía estar interesado en limpiar la mesa abd ya que no apareció ningún camarero, fuimos al bar a recoger la cuenta y pagar. Calidad en cuanto a la comida era promedio en el mejor de los casos. Pedimos “Land & Sea” (una mezcla de seefood y carne). Cuando llegó la comida, esperábamos que la calidad de la comida compensara el tiempo de espera, pero no fue así. Al principio apenas se podía ver la carne en el tablero de compartir, ya que los mariscos se apilaban encima de la carne. No solo sabía a camarones y calamares, sino que al apilarlos encima de la carne, el calor de los mariscos llevó a que la carne se cocinara en exceso. El mayor problema, aunque era que el menú decía que el tablero de compartir incluía 1/2 langosta a la parrilla (que era la razón principal por la que fuimos por ese plato). Sin embargo, la langosta (posiblemente la parte más cara del tablero de compartir) faltaba y los camareros no dijeron ni una palabra al respecto. Después de quejarnos al camarero de que faltaba la langosta, nos informaron de que se habían quedado sin langosta y la habían reemplazado por 3 (diminutas) chapotas, lo que es una pena ya que no comemos mejillones. El camarero nos informó de que, en consecuencia, solo cobrarían el (8 £ más barato) “Sharing board” (para compensar la falta de 1 / 2 langosta). Después de salir del restaurante nos dimos cuenta de que se trataba de una estafa, ya que esa tabla incluía diferente y mayor cantidad de carne... Antes de salir, también entendimos por qué nuestra mesa era tan pegajosa y sucia. Después de que otros huéspedes se fueron, los camareros pusieron mesas vecinas sin limpiarlas en absoluto (después de que los huéspedes anteriores se fueron). También en las sillas se podían encontrar sobras (papas fritas, etc) de huéspedes anteriores. Para añadir insulto a la lesión, los dos nos enfermamos poco después de salir del restaurante (lo que parece lejos de ser una sorpresa teniendo en cuenta el mal nivel de higiene). No recomendaría este restaurante a nadie y hay opciones mucho mejores no muy lejos.

We waited over an hour for our food for half of it it to come out cold, we then asked for them to bring out fresh food to which we were looked at like we were stupid and not a single apology offered, baring in mind the tables around us had already complained about cold food, we also sat with empty glasses for around half an hour before we eventually had to ask for another drink, for a place that comes with a price tag like this the food and service was absolutely shocking

Came here for steak yesterday. Steak was cooked to perfection, beef dripping chips were very nice. Was not aware they done the a special. Two courses for £22. Definatly coming back.

Dreadfully overpriced steaks, the cheapest option is their flat-iron which was underdone and sinewy and streaked with silverskin, it was not the medium rare I ordered which is their recommended temperature for this steak. Beef dripping chips were soft, greasy and under seasoned, "slow roasted" tomatoes were raw in the centre with almost no colour on them, mushrooms were vile and saturated with the pool of grease it was served in. Duck pancakes were the best item I ordered but the cucumber was cut lazily and the meat looked like it was dropped from a packet onto a hot sizzle plate and that's it. The whole time we were eating, a staff member was speaking loudly with the table next to us which was very distracting, there were plenty of empty seats so I would have at least appreciated some clearance from them. Finally when we complained about the quality of the steak we did thankfully get a discount from the final bill but I don't appreciate my comments about the meat being underplayed with "the flat-iron is just like that" and a hearty chuckle. Would not recommend to anyone, especially as fancy treat, have heard much better about the restaurant upstairs.

Food was fine as always but the whole experience was soured by the manager on shift and his rude behaviour. Not the first time by the looks of previous reviews!

Reserved a table for 16, which was a struggle in itself after being ignored via email and told over the phone that they couldn’t confirm the booking over the phone. However after 4 or 5 emails it was eventually confirmed and I was asked to preorder. They sent me a pdf list of someone else’s order which I couldn’t edit so I created my own list and sent it with 16 orders (and received confirmation that they received it) - when I turned up at the restaurant they denied all knowledge and accused me of sending them a list of an order for 10 people and the restaurant ‘manager’ was incredibly patronising (especially as it was the restaurant who had screwed up). As we had to order there and then there was 45 min wait between courses and didn’t receive any apology. The food was good but given the experience I won’t be going back. Slightly trivial but the music in the restaurant was draining - reggae music for three hours 😳.

I recently visited this restaurant with some friends for a leaving meal, as one of us is moving away. While everything started off well, the experience quickly went downhill. We placed our orders and then proceeded to wait—nearly an hour—before our food arrived, with no explanation or apologies for the delay. During the wait, no one came to check on us, offer more drinks, or even acknowledge that we were there. It was clear we were pretty much left alone, and while I would have spoken up, my friends are too nice to complain. The food, when it finally arrived, was amazing, but considering how quiet the restaurant was, the long wait was very disappointing. When it came time to pay, I politely declined the optional service charge, as I felt the service didn't warrant it after such a long wait. We will not be returning, and I sincerely hope the manager on shift pays more attention to customer experience moving forward.

Brilliant meal. Had the sharing board between 2 of us. Quite pricey, but absolutely fantastic - you get what you pay for. Just wish I was rich so I could go every week!

Awsome place to eat.Steak cooked to perfection.Staff really nice and helpfull with the menu.

Went last night with my partner, food was good, wine was good, pudding was good! My only issue is, which i have thought other times which we have visited, that the music is far too loud! Nobody is listening to it, the place is busy enough with chatter that there doesn’t need to be loud music to break the silence. It just makes it difficult to hear who you are dining with so you need to shout and lean over the table.

Had a lovely anniversary meal here tonight. Service exceptional without being intrusive. Food 1st class. Will be back

After hearing so many good reviews l decided to try the Newcastle Tomahawk restaurant for myself. I ordered the flat iron steak which was recommended. I got it with garlic butter sauce which came separately. It took over 35 minutes and when it arrived l poured the sauce all over the steak. BIG MISTAKE!! I love garlic butter normally but it had cooled down slightly and tasted of cheese. I couldn't eat the steak because of it being covered in the butter. It made me feel totally sick! When l told the server, he said that each butter is made to order and no two butters are the same. Very disappointing 😞

Nice place. Delicious food. Service is fantastic. Had a nice three course Sunday lunch.

Visited Tomahawk Steakhouse for Restaurant Week with high expectations but unfortunately didn't have the best time. Three of us ordered our steaks medium rare, but each one arrived at a different temperature, none of which were what we ordered. On the bright side, the mashed potatoes and Biscoff cheesecake were the stars of the day – simply delicious! Perhaps it was just the Restaurant Week rush that led to our disappointing experience. That being said, the service was very good. The staff took our order promptly and were attentive throughout our meal.

Deano service had midsy attitude, a STEAKHOUSE that can't get a medium steak right even after two times and an hour wait for starters made this a "once and never again"

Disappointing service and overpriced (wasn't warned of the 10% service charge) Service was slow. Didn't get out mains until 1h15 since we sat down, one of the steaks was very well done and tough when we asked for medium, so they did redo it but the guy who brought it looked peeved. All the food was served cold. The baby's highchair was kicked a few times by passing waiters. First one didn't even apologise:( Someone even tried to squeeze past with a tray of drinks but effectively pushed me out of the way while I was securing to baby in the chair. The disabled toilet has brown rot and damp on the wall and the ladies toilets were all stained. Quite disgusting really! Also strange that the disabled toilet was locked considering it's a restaurant and not a public place. I don't recommend it.

Went here for an evening out with my elderly parents. The service started ok, however it soon spiralled into a very, very poor experience. Of a table of 6, they got 2 orders wrong, when I raised my concerns with the “manager” I was told not to raise my voice, even though the music playing was akin to a nightclub. The whole experience was terrible, I will never set foot in one of their establishments again, a purely degrading experience and I would advise others to avoid at all costs. It does not matter how good the food being served is, if the front of house staff don’t offer the same level of quality service the whole dining experience fails.

Excellent dinner, there was a small problem with the drinks which were initially forgotten, but then the staff recovered very well and even offered us the drinks apologizing for the mistake. Mistakes can happen but you can always fix them and they did it great, they were also very nice and helpful. Service rating 10! Excellent food and quality meat, I particularly appreciated the Picanha. I know the format and they integrated two very good ideas by adding the green/red signs for taking a break and the starters/sides counter has a dedicated buffet. A choice that I appreciated very much. I will come back and suggest it to anyone in town

The food mains were delicious. Shared a "Land and Sea" between two people, which comes with 4 sides, and it was more than enough to eat for us both. The steaks were exemplary. Some of the sides seemed a bit mistimed however, with the broccoli and beef dripping chips being a little on the cold side, however the creamy garlic mushrooms were really nice, as were the onion rings! We spent £116 in total on one sharing platter and two alcoholic drinks and two soft drinks, which I'm happy to pay when you give such great food and service! Edit: Went back here a second time as the food is just that good that eating it brings such a feeling of bliss and enjoyment. Thank you for accommodating my special request of a booth seating area, and the work you put in for us. She said yes! :) Pleasantly surprised to see that they had taken my previous feedback into account, and me and my now fiancé got to fully enjoy our meal. This is now one of our favourite places to go to eat, and we will certainly be coming back in the future and introducing our friends to Tomahawk too! The only problem for me now though is that the steaks are SO good, that I never have enough room left to try their delicious sounding salmon dish too! Great job guys :) You earned your five stars! I also highly recommend the Sharing Boards, and the Bearnaise sauce, there just wasn't an option to select these from the review list! People, get yourselves down to Tomahawk Steakhouse and enjoy! You won't regret it!

Really good. I'm a huge Hawksmoor obsessive and this is as good as I've found this far north. Get creamed spinch on the menu and I might be a convert

All around a fantastic venue. We ordered the named dish "Tomahawk Steak 🥩" and shared it between 3 instead of the 2 it's meant for. Meat was cooked to a perfect medium, juicy and pre-sliced. The sides were beef dripping chips which were divine and mac cheese and brocoli. The wine was a peachy 2020 bottle of white and it was also very good. While we were in, somebody proposed. Staff were quick to serve us and they carried a professional and welcoming attitude. Our meal came to £160 for a bottle of white and the steak with starters for 3.

Due to sudden illness I needed to cancel my reservation for 2 adults and 2 children under 6 years old. Despite giving 2 days notice I was informed that they HAVE charged me £10 per head I. E. £40. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Needless to say I won't be back.

when we arrived the girl that seated us was very nice letting us to choose our table, then 5 mins later a family of 4 (2 small noisy kids) were seated right beside us though there were plenty of spaces around for them. asked if we can move, there was no problem as long as we sat to a 2 seater table as we were 2 people. fair enough. 30 mins later a couple arrived and they were out to a 4 seater table though they were 2 as well and didn’t seem to be expecting any more. we ordered a steak each. one well done one medium - the medium was more rare than medium. ok no complain as I don’t mind really. BUT it took one hour for the steak to arrive - unsure if they were chasing the cow to butcher it or why the delay?! when we left (please read above we were a party of 2) we were added a service charge on the bill. for what? for setting next to us a noisy family, for serving us literally 2 glasses of drinks and 2 steak knives? and bringing our steak to the table? fair enough if we were at least a party of 4 with some extra drinks involved but not 2 plus the waiting time for food and not as requested. not happy.

The whole experience was an absolute farce- arrived to be sat on a Sticky table decided to let that slide as we really aren’t complainers we eat out a lot and are quite happy to be £150 + for a decent meal. We had to flag a waiter down to order our first drinks , the menus were absolutely scruffy with dried food and drink on them . Our starters came nothing special the prawn cocktails aren't worth the money my partner makes better at home however nothing really to complain about, every table around us was then asked if their food had been ok but we weren't asked once in the full time we were there. We sat 15 mins + with empty glasses so again we had to ask if we could order more drinks. The main come - my partners fillet was terrible not a decent cut of meat at all his sauce and onion rings were cold we told the waitress and she said do you want it heated up ? My partner declined and told them to just take it off the bill so he sat with no meal. The only person who tried to sort the situation out was Alfie , he offered us free deserts and drinks to apologise however we aren’t about that we would of much rather had a lovely experience, enjoyed our food and paid our full bill with a tip on top for the staff. This place really needs to pull its finger out, this isn’t the way you do things. We definitely will not be returning

Visited Tomahawk in Newcastle for the first time, although some in our party of 7 had been before. We went for a late(ish) Sunday lunch at 3.30pm so the restaurant wasn't too busy. On the positive side the food (overall) was very good, and big portions, although those who ordered their lamb pink seemed to have exactly the same as those who ordered theirs 'well done' The staff were very friendly although at the start a little disorganised which was surprising, as previously mentioned, it wasn't busy. On the negative side the place was just on the uncomfortable side temperature wise but even worse was the volume of the music, certainly not background music normally experienced in a restaurant, much more like you would expect in a pub. The bill including drinks was £295 so not cheap, the wine in particular seems overpriced. Would I choose to go again - No, would I recommend to others - No

The service was ok , the food was tasty , I had ribeye, my wife had fillet. Unfortunately the food was cold, the plates were cold , and the table was sticky. It’s a shame as I was really looking forward to the meal as it was my first visit, and a birthday treat. Don’t think I could recommend it to anyone based on our experience.

Food was lovely, the chateaubriand was a tad small, slightly too much for one person, not quite enough for two. The disappointing aspect was when we had finished our meal but were having a drink at the table a waiter came over and put fresh napkins with cutlery down. Didn't wipe the table and we were still sat there, we still had the table reserved for another 45 mins. Felt like we were being chivvied along to free up the table. Not great.

We visited Tomahawk to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday (he loves a good steak!) And we were not disappointed! The service was warm, welcoming and friendly. Our server was amazing and the thoughtful touches from the complementary Limoncello to the personalised birthday dessert made the meal so very enjoyable. We asked for a corner table and were seated in the conservatory which was perfect 👌 It was a little loud as there was another table of ladies who were clearly having a wonderful time together, but we don't mind the sound of happy people, and found it just added to the happy atmosphere. There are booths and other tables in the main restaurant if you prefer. The food was absolutely amazing 👏 we could not fault a single item that we ordered. We went for the starters available - bread and olives for the table, followed by a couple of the sharing platters which were more than enough for the four of us. The steak was melt in the mouth perfection. The lobster, perfectly cooked and the sides (there were 8) were simply delicious. We are fans of a coffee at the end of a meal and our server informed us that the coffee machine was not working which would have made us a bit sad. However it seems that Tomahawk also have a great relationship their neighbouring restaurant upstairs, so were able to provide coffee too with no fuss at all. All in all a really fantastic visit - my dad has not stopped talking about it - In fact, we're planning a return visit very soon!

The whole experience was not good. We visited to celebrate a 60th birthday. 4 of us had Sunday lunch and 1 chose a steak. The pork dinners were only Luke warm and the ‘crackling’ was soft and chewy. My lamb was horrible. Couldn’t cut it with the knife provided. I have no idea what cut of lamb it was from. Inedible. Even the lady who had the steak said it was chewy. I complained about the lamb to our waitress. Her response was to ignore me and walk away. We never saw her again? Altogether a poor and very expensive experience. Not one we would repeat.

Visited for a birthday meal. Great quality food, service with a smile. In a great location, can't go wrong

Came for bottomless brunch. Service was poor and drinks took at least 10-15 minutes to be made. Asked to order another drink whilst one was sat on the table due to the time length it took for them to be made only to be told we had ordered too many so weren’t allowed. Defeats the purpose of bottomless (understandable if we went overboard but we had max 5 drinks each). Wouldn’t go again

Sat and waited an hour for food with no prior warning. When I asked how long the food would be I was told 5 more minutes, 10 mins later I chased it up and then the manager (I think he was called Faz) came over with the food and argumentatively told us that the table had only been open 52 minutes (if we’re being specific it was 63) and proceeded to argue with us rather than apologise. Obscene. They didn’t have any of the sides I requested (2.15pm on a Sunday) and when the food arrived (we ordered a sharing platter chefs recommendation) the sirloin and ribeye were blue and chewy whilst the fillet was served medium, absolute shambles 😂 waitress was lovely though bless her

Booked on a weekend away to Newcastle as we were recommended. The sirloin we had was excellently cooked, we prefer medium to well done, couldn't fault it. I had the creamy garlic mushrooms and brocoli as sides, fabulous. We really enjoyed our meal and would recommend

*Would be 3.5 but felt like 4 was too generous* Service was relatively good. Drinks took a little while considering the restaurant was a bit empty. Also, had to ask for the set menu to be given. Food itself was not the best. To start, the croquettes were stodgy, but presented nicely. Burger tasted quite dry and didn’t have much flavour. Steak was slightly overcooked, but nothing drastic. Chips were good, though. Dessert was strange - lemon merengue pie with strawberry ice cream was unexpected, and merengue wasn’t crispy enough for my taste. However, for a 3 course meal for £19.99, it was worth the price! Drinks were fairly priced, and not more overpriced than other restaurants. Atmosphere was okay, with nice background music. Overall, I would buy the deal again, but would be hesitant about buying a steak/other meal outright.

It was nice I had the fish option but while waiting I was asked so many times if I wanted meat. I wish they gave you a little sign to say no meat.

First night in Newcastle and looking for a nice steak - Tomahawk certainly did not disappoint! What a fab place to eat, and lovely situation on the river. Hubby's chicken was so big he couldn't finish it - a record!!!

The food was great. Cheap 3 course meal for 20 quid and the steak with chips is normally 19.95. Very good

The restaurant was Lovely but I was disappointed in my steak I thought it was quite dry no taste like a steak is supposed to taste

Place was quiet as it's Monday lunch I wasn't expecting heaving. Went to sit in one section, guy realised floor was wet and went flying. Laughed it off and sat elsewhere. Music was loud. A little too loud. Ordered, got drinks and my glass was cracked. An inch long. Couldn't find the guy to inform him and ask for replacement. 30 mins for food, didn't order anything like steak. Mr ordered wagyu burger with brisket hash browns I ordered chicken parmo with onion rings. Food was amazing and the portion size was spot on! Never had such an amazing parmo ever! Could not find the lad and realised he was sitting out the way with another lad laughing and joking about. Sat another 15 mins after plates had been cleared and asked for the bill so ended up walking up to the bar and paying there. A little bit unprofessional IMHO and I and my Mr work in costumer facing roles. Also, bathroom floors were really slippy. Bleach had been used on porcelain tile so a residue has formed causing people to slide. Be careful on any of the ceramic tiled floors! Planning on coming back to try a steak at end of the month, let's hope service is better.

I have always enjoyed a meal here. We had the beef and cheese sandwich with fries it was not good quality soggy more microwave than fresh. Over £50. For 2 sandwiches fries and 2 drinks certainly not worth the money

The steaks were not cooked as we asked (medium came as medium-well or even well done) but overall it was nice. The fries were delicious. The waitress did make a mistake with the bill. Overall not bad, but could really be better.

Booked in for Sunday lunch. Why are vegetables cooked in butter, should be a choice. Black pepper smothered the food. Meat was inedible as very tough and stringy. Male waiter’s breath stank of cigarettes. Will never recommend, it was a total disappointment.

Birthday meal was absolutely beautiful 😍 the meat was cooked to absolute perfection 🤤 I had the sharing platter and was served by Philip. I just want to write a review of how fantastic his customer service was to us, he was very polite and friendly ☺️ I must add though that the chips were not nice at all but we were not charged for them so thank you for that!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at the quayside tomohawk steakhouse, where I was looking forward to enjoying a quality meal with my son. Unfortunately, the evening turned out to be a major letdown, both in terms of the food and the service. Let’s start with the steak, which was outrageously overpriced for the quality served. We ordered a medium-rare tomohawk expecting a juicy, flavourful cut of meat. What arrived at the table was not medium rare, it wasn’t tender and the seasoning was almost non existent. I even had to order a burger when the steak was finished by my son as the steak wasn’t big enough for him! Even though recommended for 2-3 people. The sides were dreadful, soggy fries in the form of chips and Parmesan fries. Mushrooms were ok but as a whole the whole dish definelty didn’t warrant the price tag. As disappointing as the steak was, the service was even worse. The staff seemed uninterested from the moment we walked in. Our server was inattentive, disappearing for long stretches and ignoring our requests We also had starters that were some awful dry so called wagyu meatballs that were obviously not ! The lack of professionalism didn’t end there. When we politely raised concerns about the quality of the steak, the server was dismissive, offering no apologies or solutions. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. Even the simple task of refilling water glasses seemed to be an inconvenience for the staff, who were more focused on chatting with each other than attending to guests. In summary, this restaurant delivers nothing close to what you’d expect for the price they charge. The food was poor! and of inferior quality, and the staff’s lack of attention and care only compounded the disappointing experience. Save your money and go somewhere that values its customers and knows how to cook a proper steak. 3 starters Tomohawk sharing platter The extra burger that took forever (that they wouldn’t cancel ) 2 Pepsi 1 Prosecco 1 beer 1 red wine Was £194 quid. Absolute joke !!! And a disgrace

We went for restaurant week, loved it so much we've booked to go back for a bottomless brunch. Lovely food, really great staff and fab location. Very happy to recommend.

I was looking for a meat restaurant in the Newcastle area, and I was not disappointed at all! The meat is quality and the service impeccable. Prices are normal, but for this quality it's worth it Finally, there is plenty of room to come with friends or family

Actually last year we tried the same sharing big plate of Steak and seafood in here but today we were shocked as the food wasn't proper at all like lack of seasoning and very tough Steak and we couldn't chewed and even food came to us Cold , it was very unexpectedly and unpleasant night as it was my birthday 😔

Overall disappointed with sunday dinner family of four each finding issues with there meal mainly with the meat which was left over and unfortunate good service though very helpful

Book a table for Sunday lunch been many times and couldn't fault it . Had to wait for a table to be available,then waited a long time for Sunday lunch too be served.Very little meat,one little piece of beef ,little veg to share for two ,even thou one person got the same veg as us.Seem to be cutting back ,not good value for money at all.

Never eaten here before but I’ve heard it was good. However the food didn’t live up to expectations. Lack of available choices for other people in our party (staff came back 3 times to say they didn’t have things) and my steak (porterhouse) was quite tough and anaemic, not worth £50. Service was good, just let down by the food. Think I will try somewhere else next time I want a steak.

Disappointed restaurant week special. Prawn cocktail was tiny and missing the tomato and cucumber as stated on menu. 3 mains came out , chicken came about 10 minutes later as the waiter told us the chef had over cooked it and had to start again! Definitely not the good standard we expected. Wrote an email with feedback and no could even acknowledge it! Wouldn’t recommend to friends now.

We’ve been coming here since you opened for every birthday , anniversary , Valentine’s Day etc and have always loved the food , I especially love the beef dripping chips and always get double of them as my 2 sides and recommend them to everyone . However I was so disappointed tonight as you have completely changed the chips , they are now dry and hard , I must’ve left half of them as they were inedible . You could actually crumble lots of them . They tasted like old chip shop chips that have been left in the fryer for days . I mentioned it to the member of staff who came to check on us and she said they had recently changed them . I saw someone on the adjoining table send theirs back too . To her credit the lady did take our desserts off the bill which was appreciated but I was so disappointed with our meal tonight . This was a birthday meal for my husband and I felt it was spoiled by this . I will definitely think twice about visiting again soon as this has put me off which is a shame as we’ve been coming here for every family occasion for 5 years . Other than that the staff are always lovely , dessert was delicious and it has a nice atmosphere .

Food was lovely and staff were excellent.

Was recommended to me so I went. Steak was nice as was the chips, the creamy garlic shrooms were a disappointment, not so much cream more of a very watery sauce. I also asked for a drink which never appeared. Staff were nice. All in all a nice steak but not as good a competitors.

It’s a lifesaver!, I enjoyed the delicious 3 course lunchtime menu yesterday, seated immediately, restaurant well air conditioned on a hot day Steak was exactly as I liked it, entirely my fault for not chewing it sufficiently a piece was stuck in my throat. A bartender recognised I was in trouble and expertly performed the Heimlich manoeuvre. The staff are well trained and a credit to the restaurant I want to concentrate on how good the meal was, I will certainly return to enjoy my next meal without incident

We came here for my brother's graduation dinner and we had a nice time. The prices are a bit high and I wish that the quality of the sides was a bit better, but the steak itself was well worth it and justified it in my eyes. Best steak I had in a while and I ordered it medium. Next time I will consider a medium-rare steak as I now well trust the quality of this establishment.

Waitress took us to a full area, looked like she didn't know what she was doing and then told us to wait at bar. Slightly embarrassing and not great service. Food however was exceptional. Sunday dinner is the best I've had anywhere.

Sticky table, I asked to be moved the person said they are all like that, the varnish is coming off. Crispy squid there would be more bite in spaghetti. Overcooked steaks, cold sauces! Very sad and expensive.

Amazing steakhouse with amazing service. Went above and beyond to seat my party of 13 at short notice when a booking at another restaurant was messed up. Food was sublime and we didn't have one complaint. Highly recommended 👍

birthday ; recommended, went for day out to newcastle and we were recommended this restaurant. omg welcomed well . menu explained brill, we had a cocktail to start with and a beer. we had a flat iron steak . Cooked to our perfection amazing like melting butter in sunshine. Service excellent well done to Ron and jamie.

Great experience and our server, Julius, was very welcoming and attentive. I would recommend ordering your steak to be more cooked than you wish as I ordered medium and received a (delicious but) rare steak, otherwise I couldn't fault the food!

Lovely birthday tea - sharing platter and then desert of cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Platter was very nice however could have been hotter and steak was undercooked to what we had requested.

I recommend a steak restaurant with the good surface. Good view beside the river. I recommend it for good cooking on the banks of the river

Look. Food is good. But service is slow and impersonal. Basically you are a bar with good steak. Sort it out. Its not hard to get good service.

I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the night. The buffet options even for vegetarian/pescatarian dishes were just above and beyond what you’d expect of a steakhouse!

Went for Sunday roast on a trip back to Newcastle, used the be the best place in town but not sure what's happened. Prawn cocktail starter was possibly the worst I've had in a restaurant, prawns tasted cheap and for a tenner I was disappointed. But the main event is the roast itself, went for the three meat sharer. Beef is normally served pink though on this occasion it was overcooked. As was the pork. The lamb was fine as were the accompaniments. Service was as always impeccable and I did mention the starter wasn't great when it was cleared away. Whole table were in agreement it was a let down especially given how good it used to be.

Good time ... don't think we will return ... but still a good visit

The food was absolutely exceptional. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection. The steaks were how steaks are supposed to be cooked. The staff were kind and friendly. All round great experience. If I’m ever in Newcastle again, I will 100% be back.

Arrived at 4:05 didn't receive our food until 4:55 , food was half cold half hot . 15 people max in restaurant so can't understand why we waited nearly an hour for food
