Thanks to Steven for letting us know the waffle fries aren't vegan. This should be stated on the menu! Great service and nice food otherwise. Vegan milkshakes are lovely.

Order came slightly cold, taste wise not too bad but not £17 worth for a burger at all. Food ended up not agreeing with me at all.

Brilliant venue and staff are fantastic. For the Gluten free people it offers lots of alternative foods. Will be back again.

The food comes quick and it's always high quality. If you're in town and looking for a good burger, try Smashburger. It's cheaper than Five Guys and the burgers are better. It's a no brainer!

Staff are so so so kind here, especially as a celiac person. Always ready to help. Gluten free bun options here are 5*. My favourite fast food place with celiac. I reccomend :)

I got the buffalo, blue cheese smash burger with the sweet potato SB fries. The burger was okay, but lacked actual blue cheese flavour. The Franks Red Hot sauce was unevenly distributed, only really getting a hint of it after eating half of the burger. As for the actual burger patty, lettuce, tomato - it was actually pretty good and refreshing. The ingredients were fresh and vibrant. Was it worth the £17 odd? Probably not. Would £12/£13 for a meal (not just the burger) be a little more realistic? Probably! The sweet potato fries were pretty good but lacked overall flavour. Just an honest review. It was okay, and a good alternative to your usual option. That’s about it though!

My parents attended the Smash burger in Eldon square last week and for a lady who doesn’t normally enjoy burgers - she absolutely loved it!!! So much that she has brought me and my son to try it today. We al had a burger and shared some loaded fries. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and super friendly. The burgers are loaded with flavour. We will return for sure!

Smashburger Newcastle – Review I visited Smashburger in Newcastle and went for the Triple Smashburger. It was a good size, served hot and tasty, and definitely hit the spot. The cheese was there but seemed to get a little lost in the mix. Personally, I prefer a proper Smashburger crust, where you get that crispy, frilly edge for some extra texture. This one didn’t quite have that, but it was still very enjoyable. I also got tater tots, but to be honest, they weren’t really necessary – the burger alone was plenty filling. Service was excellent. The staff were attentive, upbeat, and clearly enjoying their work, which made for a great experience. Would I go back? Yes. It was a solid burger and a good overall experience.

Great food. Smash fries are unreal. Quick attentive staff. Have to comment on the music - whoever is in charge of it is brilliant. Loads of proper 70’s funk, melodic hip hop, soul etc. I’m a soul/funk/disco DJ and I stayed longer because I wanted to hear what was next 😂

This was my first visit to smash burger, tbh I'd never heard of it but my teenage son liked the look of it so we gave it a go. It was the best burger I've ever had, no contest. I had the jalapeno hot burger and while it wasn't what I would call HOT, it was beautiful. Fresh jalapenos in the burger, until now I had only had pickled, which were delicious. The burger patty quality is exceptional, texture and seasoning was spot on. The bun was clearly grilled on the hot plate with butter or something, because it was perfectly golden brown. My son said the chocolate oreo milkshake was incredible as well. It's better than five guys. This has made our afternoon, best burgers we've ever eaten. Thanks Smash Burger!!!

Came in the other week - great burgers and really brilliant, friendly service from Steven. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave good recommendations.

Food looked great but just tasted average, spent nearly £40 my partner was sick after her food and I got sore stomach and go home for loo asap. The man who served us was really nice and friendly. I wouldn't recommend the food for the price first and last time I go

Called in here for dinner today with my daughter food was delicious 😋 havnt had a burger that nice in a long time and the fries are lush n crispy we both really enjoyed our food. The lass who served us was lovely very polite 😀 didn't wait long for our food and it was all fresh and hot.

Had a burger here , was full of fat and gristle , had to spit 4 pieces out, it’s meant to be a premium offering, very poor indeed. Complained and the staff just looked at each other like I was speaking a foreign language, manager eventually came over and said thanks for the feedback I’ll give you a refund, could do it then which is ridiculous and said it would go on my card in a few days, never did , chased him twice still no refund. Avoid , just a poor example of food sand customer service

Food was average, took longer than would expect to get the food. Not sure I’d rush back, and there is plenty of options in the immediate vicinity too.

Good burger with fresh ingredients and very good fries with Italian herb seasoning. But the problem is the waiting time, more than 30 minutes for two veggie burgers and fries; they were good but didn't deserve such a wait. And the prices are quite high for good budgets but ultimately quite simple.

WHAT A SCAM!!! They promised free burgers until 5pm, but 'ran out' at 4pm. If they can't commit to their promise they shouldn't have said that the free burger voucher until 5pm. Absolutely horrible!

So I got a free burger reward at a student Freebie Fair. when i went to redeem it, it would only let me try get a Veggie Burger not the House Smash burger the offer detailed. Miffed i thought it was a tech issue. So I try again later today to find out the account I once had, with the offer doesn’t exist anymore. If you don’t want to give out free food, don’t. stop pretending to be a nice company if you’re not. update: manages to get into the account to find out the offer which i still don’t believe works properly is only available for 3 hours a day for 4 days. having to jump through hoops for a seemingly kind offer really tells you about how much the company actually cares

What a great combo! Burgers with churros! I always love pickles in my burger, along with lettuce and tomato. So yummy!

We had the best experience at smash burger! We arrived quite late but Steven was so nice and got us (a group of 7) our food very fast. The food was so tasty. The burgers were well prepared and the fries were so good and crunchy. I would truly recommend this place because of the good service (Steven is the nicest! He was so interested in us and we got some free fries as well) and the wonderful food as well!!

We came for a quick tea and the burgers were delicious and much nicer than other burger places. The ingredients were fresh and it was cooked to order, we’ll definitely go back. The staff were excellent and helped us through the whole process of ordering and provided a very friendly and helpful experience throughout.

My husband, daughter and myself came and had burgers today- the best burger ever! We were served/looked after by Donya who is a credit to the company. Very friendly, vibrant and bubbly personality who made our visit so enjoyable. Will definitely be back!

Food was decent but only half the order was delivered. Really disappointing. One of us had Fries without the burger & the other had a burger but no fries. Won’t order from here again. Not worth the risk if they can’t ensure the correct order is being sent out!

Good food. Burgers were flavourful, with a large enough variety for everyone to enjoy, but small enough for everything to be high quality. Had the Truffle Oklahoma and it was very scrummy.

Great service and food. Plenty of choice and ways to customise your food, the refillable drinks machine also had lots of flavours. It's more expensive than the big fast food burger chains but the quality of the food and service justify it. We were served by Steven, who made us feel really welcome, talked us through the options and made it a dining experience rather than grabbing a quick burger.

Ordered two burgers and chips, one burger didn’t arrive, the burger that did arrive wasn’t very warm.

Ordered on Uber eats, the create your own burger. Awful experience no compensation or anything. The burger, paid for salad in, sauce in, bacon in. The bacon was piece was a scrap of bacon, shocking. No salad or sauce at all, practically a cheese burger plain. Then Uber do not refund any money for smash burgers incompetence. Ordered a ranch with tater tots. Ranch never came. I would never order from here again although the women on the phone when I called back was nice and said she would contact Uber to try and get a resolution. Will wait for an update if I get one. Update got £3 back what a joke.

It’s alarming how much I think of this place. Cannot beat a good smash burger and the smash fries (tossed in olive oil and rosemary) are amazing. Overall, the service was quick, the food was good quality and the price was very reasonable.. I’ll definitely be back again to try the rest of the amazing menu (and the shakes!!)

I had the worst experience ever, i ordered 3 double cheeseburgers meals with free style drinks, there were no regular cola in the machine and the guy came to say there is no beef, we can give you chicken burgers instead, i told him i want to cancel my order and i am no longer want to eat here, he said the order can’t be cancelled because you already paid, i told him that i have the right to cancel since nothing i ordered was available. Then he said we can bring you beef burgers in 10 minutes, i said no i only want to cancel my order if you can make my order why would you offer me a chicken instead, the guy who was wearing black was very rude the way he was speaking to me, and asked me for my email to arrange a refund, he did not give me my money back. Please train your staff to be respectful towards the customers. Thank you

I went today with my family before the womans england match , the food was lovely and very tasty but the atmosphere was very disturbing. I had my young children with me and a member of staff shouting at other members ( I only assume he was a manager on shift) a bald man with glasses . I didn't catch his name nor would I like to know it , his behaviour in front of customers was appalling and it really let the face of smashburger down . To think they allow management to shout at staff members in such a way is terrible . A young girl probably just left school or in school roughly 16 to 17 cleaning and serving the customers looked like she was about to cry , if this was my daughter or close friends daughter I would not stand for it . He then continued to shout in the back at the staff preparing the food . If it's a bit more busy than usual a good manager would help the staff not stand there shouting . In my experience, it is never appropriate for a manager to shout at an employee in front of others, regardless of the situation. Such behavior can be highly damaging to the employee's self-esteem, morale, and productivity, and can create a toxic work environment that negatively impacts the entire team. It's crucial for managers to maintain a professional demeanor at all times, and to address any issues or concerns with employees in a respectful and constructive manner which this manager failed to do . This not only fosters a positive and productive work culture, but also helps to build trust and rapport between managers and their team members. I suggest you retrain your mangers and show him how to approach the staff on shift . We come to your restaurant a lot and espically on match days but I think this abuse we witnessed has changed my mind about the restaurant and we will be dining else where on Monday for the next match . I hope when I do return the managers on shift act and treat the staff with a bit more respect . I have also emailed them but I'm sure they won't take any notice of my email or review

Come with my son who is Coeliac I'm not. Staff very helpful and very understanding can't fault them. Made all customer feel welcoming when they entered. Wish more places for GF like here. Food 100% lovely and mouthwatering 🤤. Definitely will be back again.

Went here for the first time yesterday with my mother, and I will say the food was really good. I really enjoyed it and may have to consider visiting here again in the future. The staff also made us feel welcomed with excellent customer service.

Had a lovely meal at this place with my other half but whilst I do appreciate they specialise in burgers I wish there had been better cutlery for those of us that didn’t want to eat with our hands. The knife and fork I was offered were disposable and were about as sharp as a bath sponge

I didn't think the burgers were good value for money at all. Ok in terms of quality, although the meat was over cooked a little. Can't go higher than a 2 as I've had far better at more reasonable prices.

Really enjoyed the food here, good quality burger but the staff are the best bit as very friendly and accommodating, especially when it was a busy match day. Just what we needed before heading to a gig & very filling too!

We have a little one with allergies, the workers were all incredibly helpful. Any parent or person who suffers with allergies will know what a chore it is constantly going Through the spiel of I can’t have this or that. They were very kind and went above and beyond to make sure our son could have something to eat. The food itself was very good. Finding a vegan shake is tough man. These guys do four types and they were great. Definitely recommend it

Used to order from smash burger , one of my fav places to eat from - classic smash burger plus Baja fries. Drove in from Leeds to just to visit smash burger. The place has completely changed. Very rude staff and the menu has no baja fries. Couldn’t have been more disappointed. Burger is still ok still not the same though

If you have a toddler, don't get the children's meal It's basically an adult meal with a burger taken out far too much okay for a six or seven year old plus maybe in future we will just share our food the chicken burger is way too much

I was craving some fried chicken so I tried their chicken sandwich What I got was a what looks to be frozen chicken fillet between two buns and some under seasoned fries. I don't know if their beef burgers are any better, but considering this place is about the same price as five guys, there is no universe where I would choose this over five guys

as profoundly deaf and don’t have any confidence to communicate with strangers, i’ve typed on my phone notes to show the staff asking for a vegan burger and somehow i ended up with a meat burger instead. Like seriously how could he misread this???!!!!! still managed to change the food but still was really disappointed with the services as i felt forced to speak up the staff for their mistake.

I was hoping for something a bit better, I was even happy to pay the price for it. The menu was easy to navigate. The service was good, friendly and helpful. However the food was decidedly average. The burger was dry, the bun was nothing special and the fries were not good - super greasy & not an exaggeration. They appeared to be re-heats! The pricing and appearance of this place suggests that I'm buying a higher class of burger, cooked by people that know what they are doing. This is not the case.

First time visiting, my son and I both had the Bacon Double Cheeseburger, agreed this was delicious, skin on fries were a little disappointing, but ok, Good value for money, would definitely return.

Need to improve the service and taste to justify the price
