Buddha bowl, not that much and rather bland, delicious "smoothie" though but all round quite pricey. Its a little dark but a window table makes it OK. Wouldn't go back!

Great find, great spot, great food, great service. What more could you want? Nice spot on main road, but wide paving and across from the river and bridge. Bi fold doors for summer air. Nice menu for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Good coffee. Will definitely return

Pancake stack was so good, better than Bills in fact. Perfect pancakes with bacon option. We also had poached eggs on sourdough and salad, perfectly cooked. I wish I had taken some photos to share here. The staff were nice and we will definitely come back over and try the Budda bowls.

I went into tom foolery for breakfast with my girls, I was stuck in the doorway for around 10 minutes, as their was a massive queue waiting for hot drinks, some told me to leave, as he'd been waiting for 20 minutes for a flat white. this one barista was very rude to me when I got the front counter, she spoke to me in a very harsh voice, and basically told me to go away. as i had arranges with my friends, who i hadn't seen since college, so i found a small table in the corner, with two massive armchairs, one with a massive rip in it, and the tables hadn't been cleaned and had plates and cups on them. when i called someone over, she kicked my bag out the way and wipes all the crumbs and salad leaves on the floor around my feet, and continued to say she'd be back. 10 minutes had passed, and she hadn't come back, so i grabbed the plates myself and put them on the counter, the girl who had told me she's be back was inside the small area behind the counter, sitting on the side and chatting to a boy, she saw me and gave me a dirty look and carries on talking to this guy, Who was eating. now don't even get me started on the smell..! as soon as i walked into the small, crowded café, a smell of cannabis hit my nose, and i immediately started to cough. my food finally arrived, after waiting 40 minutes, at which point, i had finished my americano ( which i had to send back 3 times, because the milk was off and out of date, the second time, the waiter who served me had dropped it on the floor and the last time it was cold, like it had been sitting on the side for an hour.) my bacon was overcooked and burnt. the beans were cold, and the sausages were chewy with bits in them. I DEFINITELY won't be coming back!!!!

Never going there again, I'd had a bad experience there about a year ago but thought I'd give it another try, wish I hadn't bothered.

Staff were unbelievably rude both were on their phones and talking to each other while I was waiting at the till then both walked off into the back area. When they then came back to the till again they ignored me and made some coffee no acknowledgement at all and they weren’t even that busy. I wondered if I was wearing an invisibility cloaca. Stood there for another 5 mins the walked out.

I have been going to this cafe regularly for the past few weeks. I really enjoy their food, lots on offer and can cater for many dietary needs. I have had the eggs on sourdough toast as well as the salmon and cream cheese bagel. The bagels may seem pricey but it was genuinely incredibly filling and jam packed with loads of salmon. The prices are fairly steep, but I guess that’s what you pay at a higher end cafe which isn’t a greasy spoon. It’s nice to see that the meats are actually local butchers meats so you don’t mind paying that bit extra. The only slight negative is that the customer service changes with the staff- I have been in some days and get an immediate welcome, chat, and warm face. Other days I am not greeted and have often had to wait for staff to finish their conversations before taking my order. I believe this is potentially due to managers on certain shifts as the excellent service is with a clear manager (an older woman and a Middle Aged man), whereas the service on other days seems to be a mix of people with no clear manager (a younger group of girls and a male KP working on Thursday 14th July). No real difference to me but could deter others. I will keep going back to this cafe as they are very welcoming of me working in there for a few hours and I enjoy the atmosphere.

I am a local to Shoreham so Tom Foolery is a place I have been to a lot of time previously and have always been happy to come to. Generally they have good food which is made with fresh ingredients. However, I have not been here probably for a year now and to say I am shocked by the prices is an understatement. £13 for a small breakfast, £9.25 for a sandwich, £4 for chips! If you want a Buddha bowl, that’ll set you back a tenner, if you then want falafel, that’ll be an extra £3.75, so £14 total for the privilege. If you are dining here for two, expect a £40+ bill, for breakfast. It’s outrageous. I will not be returning.

We went to Tom's today and came away irritated and feeling ripped off. It took 40 mins for 2 sausage sandwiches and a poached eggs on toast to come out. When the order finally arrived, we were presented with vegan sausages (not what we ordered) and when I queried it I was cheerfully told 'oh sorry I put them through as vegan, they taste the same though'. Offered a replacement which in theory would have been fine but I couldn't wait another 30-40 mins for food. So pressed on and ate the vegan sausage sandwiches...well...they most definitely don't taste the same (quelle surprise) and when I opened the ciabtta there were two thin sausages cut in half. £9.25 for two sausages, onion chutney and a ciabatta...are you kidding me. Nothing else on the plate apart from some peas shoots, and seeds. Moving on to the poached egg...they were like boiled eggs, luckily my young daughter was happy, no one else would have been. The chips were like those that you'd have in a cheap cafe, all air and no flavour. Now I do have to say that because of the mix up, they funded the sandwiches and by this point I couldn't face talking to them about the eggs and chips. However if I had received either the correct order or indeed had in fact ordered vegan sausages it would not have been good. It was a good reminder of why not to eat anything substantial here, maybe an overpriced coffee/tea and a croissant/cake but there are plenty of better places to eat.

Visited 31/1 /22 The lady who made my tea was super informative and patient with my mood. Very polite. Service-oriented. I wanted to leave her a tip on the card. Not possible. This brings me to my first suggestion. These servers work very hard. They deserve tips. Owners should facilitate this. \\the success of a place is largely due to how people on the floor run it and how informed they are on products etc. Second. Toilet paper holster in bathroom kept falling off . Not great , in a hygiene-aware age. Lastly. Earl grey in a pot is a great idea. Tasty too but a bit weak. Could be a bit stronger. Ill come back .

Today we had to wait 50 minutes for our meal here, nothing fancy... a sausage sandwich, hallumi and eggs on toast and a bowl of chips. Never once did anyone come and apologise for our wait, until I returned to the counter. The cafe was not that busy. When it came, the food left us disappointed. Poor food, poorer service. Will not return.

I went to Tom Foolery yesterday and they had an impressive list of milkshakes. I hate chocolate so I ordered the Banoffee Pie milkshake. After about 25 minutes they brought me out a chocolate milkshake. I drank about 1/3 of it, because I didn’t want a confrontation, until my friend suggested I take it back. I asked the lady at the counter if it was definitely banoffee pie they’d brought me. She tried to fix it and went to replace my milkshake. After another 20 minutes they brought out another chocolate milkshake but this time with banana in it. The lady came by to check and I said “well it has banana in it this time..” I left the entire milkshake there, because I don’t like chocolate. Banoffee should be banana, biscuit and caramel. Never any chocolate. This was a really disappointing experience, but I had given 2 stars instead of one because the lady did try to make it right.

Coffee is good and the redeeming feature. Otherwise, service invariably erratic - 20 minute wait coffee and toast to arrive, following a reminder to flustered staff. And this on a quiet day. "Quiet" is a relative term on days when owner is there - takes exception to requests to lower the volume from default shout. Nonetheless, location and being open 7 days a week will ensure cafe is a success however slow and noisy (!) the service!

Lovely walk along the seafront in the sunshine to shoreham followed by a Sunday roast. What a perfect way to spend a precious day off. Well it may have been perfect had we chosen a different place for lunch. We sat down and ordered drinks, started chatting only to realise that we were sitting right in front of what turned out to be a performance area for an afternoon entertainer - PA system literally 12 inches from my head. Now I have seen this entertainer before (Black horse - Rottingdean) and he is - er... entertaining, but, and here's the thing, when booking a table, for 8 people for lunch, would it not have been advisable to warn the group that there was going to be loud entertainment and that entertainment would be pretty much on your table. Anyway we decided to get the conversation in quick as the loud music kicked in and we ordered our food - mostly roasts and a couple of 'Mountain' burgers. The waiter was confused at the request for mountain burgers as he was unaware that they were even on the menu. He turned out to be the owner! An owner that doesn't even know what the kitchen is serving - that's a new one on me. Anyway we sat there for an hour awaiting our food trying to enjoy the entertainment and convince the mother-in-law to remove the makeshift paper napkin earplugs she had cleverly constructed. After an hour the waiter/owner came over and said "Sorry no roasts left...nothing I can do about it. Choose something else." An hour - a bloody hour we sat there waiting for our food - to be told that. What a farce! He obviously then sent one of the waitresses over to tell us that we could have any food for free, but by that stage the damage had been done and we decided to leave. A real shame. It's a lovely place - right on the river with a great beer garden but for goodness sake - sort it out. The owner said he's been had the place for a couple of years. I just hope that someone who has a clue about customer service, and knows how to manage a kitchen takes it over soon because I shan't be returning as long as the present owner is cluelessly running the place.

Website says Shoreham store less busy than usual but service in the cafe was awful! Over half an hour in a queue to order food and drink. Not a single member of staff appearing rushed or hurrying! No apology for people having to wait! On the plus side - easy to find a table as everyone had left by the time we got to the front of the queue!
