Toby Carvery Badgers Mount in Sevenoaks

Slow service, took ages for glasses to be brought for refill drinks 6 eating, 5 had carvery, 1 had the caramelised onion & shallot tart, took so long to come out 2 people had already finished their meal. Carvery: no lamb, no Mac & cheese, has to wait nearly 10mins for more gammon - server seemed annoyed we insisted we wanted the gammon. Ordered coffee - no milk!

Food very fresh and tasty . Good value for money. We were served by Kaitlin who was very pleasant and helpful in our order. And also Ben that showed us to our table very efficient. C& P smith

We had a lovely lunch as always. Piping hot food and a great selection of meats and vegetables. Such good value compared to other pub carveries. I also had ice cream, toffee sauce and a flake which was delicious and half the price of restaurants elsewhere.

Ok so there's a problem with one waitress here who I've had the unfortunate luck to have had the last two times I've been here at badgers mount toby carvery . This certain waitress has been very rude and made some bad accusations towards me and my wife on two separate occasions . One time saying my wife couldn't have a alcoholic drink untill she proves her age with a document even though she's 40 and we had our 4 teenage daughters with us and another time she asked me if I wanted to order a drink and when I said no she said she will be watching me to see if I drink any of the kids bottomless cokes and if she saw me she'd charge me for one ! I'm 50 years old and I don't appreciate being spoken to or treated in this manner by any one let alone a toby waitress on minimal wage ! Rude waitress ! I've been here lots of times over the 15 years I've lived in sevenoaks and the rest of the staff are lovely it's just this one that ruins it for us !

Friendly staff, busy but plenty of room. Usual carvery offering, pretty good on the whole. And good value. Booked ahead via app. Arguably better value than the garden centre restaurant opposite.

First time, It was good experience, could be better. Manager standing welcome table told us no available until 7:30pm. Full house. It wasn’t that busy, we left. While in car park we checked online, there go 5min later we got booking.. Back again, she was very upset Lokking:)) Most table were free, I think she didn’t want us or she doesn’t want business. Then we had table, our server penny very helpful and lovely lady.. We had roast, was good big portion. All good, except lady in charge (manager) bit miserable.

Absolutely love ❤️ this Toby its food is exceptional and the staff kind and helpful. There is so much selection yesterday they had 10 different vegetables and 4 meats. Came home stuffed!!! I would only like occasionally to have chicken but I’m being picky.

Where to begin. I came for a roast with a couple of friends and could not have been more disappointed from the get go. The staff ranged from completely disinterested to downright suicidal which considering the atmosphere wasn’t hard to understand. The chefs might possibly want to retrain as apparently they missed the module on flavour. Not one item on the plate tasted of anything, the gravy was thinner than I imagine people walk out having left all of the food on their plates. When I attempted to get some meat I was informed that there wasn’t beef, turkey and only overcooked scraps of lamb. The ‘roast’ potatoes seemed to identify as marshmallows and were managing to do a good job of pretending. The icing on the cake was that because it was a bank holiday it is deemed fair to charge extra for a meal that I wouldn’t serve to my dogs and charge close to the price of an establishment where the staff look like they aren’t devoid of the will to live. I now understand that the only accolade they wish to show of is the fact they are a more energy efficient establishment which explains why all the food was luke warm at best! Also at one point we were 99% sure the barman was doing shots behind the bar!

We were booked in at 12.00 noon. After waiting in line behind over 20 people, including an interruption to service while someone from the back took over the servery to fill takeaway containers, I finally got some food. Lukewarm overcooked and dry gammon, a decent slice of pork (if it had been hot) and stone cold vegetables from a very limited choice (if you discount the three varieties of potatoes). To make matters worse, the gravy was cold too. I will not be back.

Had a £10 birthday voucher and was looking forward to it.We are both 78 years old.We got seated quick.there was a long queue for the carvery .when we reached the front the carver was not carving but almost hacking the meat.It was dry and the vegetables were cold snd mushy.Roastys potatoes were very good.I wanted the 2 course menu but was told as I had a voucher l could not have the 2 course deal.left underwhelmed and disappointed as it was my birthday.

Utter chaos. Kept out in the rain as queue was out the door despite booking. Staff were excellent apart from a very rude manager Julie who was unapologetic and unfriendly. Food was good (bit if a wait for replenishments) but atmosphere was awful with a queue the whole time we were seated. Stuck by the entrance on a very small table to eat. Long wait for drinks. Clearly totally understaffed. Man manager running around ragged trying his best. Time for staff reshuffle I feel.

The service was exceptional as always went for fathers day we were a party of 8 there wasn't any tables as fully booked but a very nice and polite lady called roxanne found a table for all of us and welcomed us all. I would highly recommend roxanne as she went above and beyond her duty to accommodate us

The food was horrendous!! I made a complaint to the Manager Phil!! He was so rude and aggressive to me and my family. I wouldn’t recommend going to this Toby Carvery EVER!

Booked at last minute and had the final dining 'slot' (7:45pm). Pleasant welcome, but told we had to go directly to food counter as it was closing shortly. Still had variety of meats available, and nice that a fresh turkey was brought out for the few of us left to eat. Generous portions of meat. However, ran out of roast potatoes, which was a great shame (mash just isn't the same!) All food still hot and kept well. Quite a noisy tidy up, and particularly replacing empty pots for next service. Certainly felt like it was the end of the day as the restaurant cleared out and you could see the mess left by restaurant users. Good, speedily served desserts and nice waiter. Not an 'occasion' venue, but good, filling, very pleasant food. Worth a visit.

The lady who seated us when we walked in was very rude and abrupt not very welcoming or cheerful, no one came over to ask us how our meal was during the whole time we was there nor offered us if we wanted to see the desert menus just the bill I had to ask for at the end - and usually we would tip any waiting staff after our meal, we was nearing close time by the time we finished our meal it was around 8:30 but they still should make everyone feel welcome for the experience of coming there. Music was turned off very early a little bit before this time so it was just silent you could feel that they wanted everyone to finish up quickly. Will not be coming back to this one again as the last few times we’ve visited staff have been quite rude and rushing the dinner there’s not much customer service anymore. The previous time we came we didn’t book a table the place was near enough empty and there was bookings available all afternoon online, it was the same lady which seated us on this visit but she made us wait 30 minutes for a table and go to another area even though the restaurant was almost empty. Terrible service there lately even though we’ve been regular customers for years.

We booked in advance for 12.00 and it was already getting busy. We’d requested a quiet table by a window and that’s exactly what we got. Our drinks order was taken very quickly and our waitress was very pleasant. We ordered from the special two-course menu, and didn’t have to queue for long to get our carvery meal. The usual selection of meats was available, along with all the trimmings. Eating fairly early, everything was fresh and the self-serve area was clean - no spilt veggies or misplaced serving spoons. It never ceases to amaze me just how much some people load up their plates, especially when you can go back for more vegetables as often as you like. Everything was well cooked and the only downside was that none of the food was very hot - “hottish” at best, which doesn’t seem to have been the case at other Tobys. A good value two course meal.

We book to have dinner here quite frequently when visiting our daughter in the area usually very good service. I always book on line and always put in the request box that we would like a table away from the door as I cant sit in a draft. Last Sunday we were taken to a table directly facing the door, the table next to it was also vacant which was out of the draft when I asked if we could have that table instead the man working at front of house , I believe his name is Ben, was very rude and sharp , said he would shut the door which is impossible with people queing. He reluctantly agreed and then told the waitress who was going to put the cutlery on the table for us, he said no "let them do it themselves" I was quite shocked at his attitude especially for front of house, very disappointed with our visit, especially when we are regulars. May be some customer service training is required with this employee, I understand they had been busy and probably rushed off his feet but no need to be rude, Not sure if we will return, very sad as we enjoy our carvery

Had a lovely dinner here for Mother’s Day. Very well organised, didn’t have to wait long at the Carvery considering how busy it was due to the day. Food was good as it always is here. Thank you to Joe, always have great service from her ☺️

Food was lovely. Warm, tasty and we were given loads of meat. Waitress was Joe who was speedy, friendly and looked after us.

This is a good stop for a roast, easy parking, plenty of room, good wheelchair access and with friendly staff. Plenty of choices from the carvery to set meals served separately. Good range of drinks too. It can get busy but we had no wait at all on a Tuesday eve. 4/5 as veg was a bit tired, ok though. Really helpful young chap serving at the table, exceptionally good.

We booked us & our friends in for Lunch, it was the first time they had been to a Toby so a we were a little nervous. But no need as everything was brilliant as always.. The Carvery was great, superb meats & then on to Deserts which we never miss... They were wonderful, highly recommend any sponge or crumble with custard, the seperate pot is very much appreciated. A great success & 2 more converts to Tovy for a Carvery... Can't beat it ... Our Server Joe was brilliant too...

Despite it being really busy, we were shown to our table by very polite front of house a few mins earlier than our reservation time to be greeted by our very helpful waitress, Joe, who quickly took our drinks order & confirmed if we were having carvery. Despite it being 1:15pm on a Sunday there was no queue for the food. Four meat choices which were all excellent. Our drinks were on our table when we returned. Puddings were good as well where you can get custard (not all restaurants serve custard). Will definitely return

This Carvery is an excellent place for a really good meal with freshly cooked meats and a good choice of fresh vegetables and fantastic desserts.The staff are very helpfull and very friendly and I can hardly wait to return for my next meal

This place in nice for a bit to eat or I should say a plateful. The old building, which was originally a pub called the Black Eagle is better than the prefabricated buildings. Food was great. And my sticky toffee pudding and custard was the best I’ve had….. and I don’t like sticky toffee pudding. The staff were all great.
