Toby Carvery in Epsom and Ewell

What a disappointment tonight. The buffet looked like a bomb had hit it and very disgruntled staff. We were told at the desk that we only had an hour and a half as table was booked for 7.30 pm but we were still sitting there at 8.15 pm and it was not very busy!

Well I'm sorry to say, Toby was absolutely awful tonight. Turkey was quite rubbery and not must taste, potatoes were disgusting, no beef Dripping potatoes. Carrots tasted like water, Yorkshire pudding was soggy, no Brussel sprouts or cabbage. Also refill machine the gas had gone so drinks were flat until they were not. Waitress was quite rude too. None of the regular waitresses were there tonight. Score out of ten I would give 2 out of 10 not impressed at all. We are regulars and it's the worse in the a long time

Had a meal here at the Toby at Ewell. The veg was practically non existent, cabbage and peas mixed together, no beef dripping roast potatoes only really hard half roasted ones! No crackling only an empty dish for it! Carrots and please, cauliflower. The tongs were left in the dishes so they were very hot but the veg were not! Very disappointed, my friend had 2 round sticky toffee puddings on the same plate. The waitress informed her that she had 2 because they had not risen! I paid £41 for 2 roasts 2 puddings and 2 wines! Certainly not worth it and shall not be going back there! Dirty dishes, plates and glasses everywhere!

Lovely food and a great spot to go on a Sunday! A proper family environment, and even better in the sunshine. Laura was amazing looking after us Thankyou so much!

We have two Toby carvery near us, but Ewell is much better on multiple occasions. Laura stand out this afternoon. We also like the reservation system as well. Ewell will be our Toby carvery destination. Thanks

Today, we were served by Laura, who has frequently been our waitress on our many visits to this Toby. She is always smiling and happy, remembers us and asks how we are and nothing is too much trouble for her. She seems calm when the restaurant is busy and we always leave full and happy. 😃

Interesting experience, very British in every way. We visited for lunch, there was 4 tapes of roasted meat, around 10 sides and delicious signature gravy/there is a vegetarian option too/. I really enjoyed the yorkshire pudding/was cold but still delicious/, the meat was nice and tender, the sides a bit blant.

Visited here after many years as moved to West Sussex . And couldn’t believe it my favourite waitress Sandra was still working there . Sandra has been there for many years . I used to be a regular before I moved 6 years ago. I had just lost my dad and visited with mum . Sandra still lovely as always . Thank-you so much Sandra . We visited Toby Carvery Ewell this evening for my daughters birthday. It was quite busy. We were seated promptly. Service was good at the carvery deck. Our waitress Tatiana was very friendly and helpful. We brought our own cake and asked if she could light the candles and bring it out to the table. We forgot the candles but she was able to supply some which saved the day. Thank you Tatiana for being a great waitress. We will most definately return to dine again.

This is an excellent Carvery at Ewell and made even better by their staff. We had a waitress called Sandra today who was excellent. It makes such a difference to the meal when the staff make you feel so welcome in addition to the excellent food.

Took our grandson for a nice midweek dinner. Our server, Natasha, was very friendly and helpful. Had £10 off our bill with a birthday voucher .

Visited today, nice quiet bank holiday roast with a friend. Marcus was our server and was the nicest guy. Excellent service all round. Very polite. Give him a pay rise!!

Great roast as ever. Our server Marcus was excellent. Great sense of humour, pleasant and attentive without being too full on. He gave us plenty of time to order desserts as we were too busy chatting to look at the menu. He told us to relax and call him when ready. Perfect 😊

A fabtastic experience. The staff were all super friendly, particularly with our 2-year old who jumped around the restaurant. They found lots of ways to entertain her-thank you. Food was delicious too. A thumbs up from us.

We both had the Lamb it was almost uneatable very tough couldn't cut it the Yorkshire pudding were almost white very under cooked in all a tasteless meal we will not be going again no wonder it was the quietest we have seen it in all our years of going.

Just finished a lovely meal at the from which Harriett our server was an absolute delight. Explained very thoroughly about the allergies and made sure we knew what we were looking at and ordering. Instead of having to risk taking items from the ‘deck’ Harriett said she’ll arrange for the chefs to make a plate up fresh in the kitchen to avoid any cross contamination. She’s was such a breath of fresh air. Thank you Harriett for making our evening enjoyable.

We wanted a good carvery for our evening meal and that is exactly what we had. Delicious beef and turkey with good sized helpings and plenty of veg to add as we wanted. Excellent value at the mid-week price.

Always value for money, with generous meat carved for you, Yorkshire pudding and lots of vegetables and roast potatoes which you can help yourself to. They often send you vouchers once you have visited to save more money. Staff friendly and a nice atmosphere, well worth a visit, be prepared to leave full up!

My family live locally but not been here since Covid. Should have booked online. Only space available was corner in pub side as restaurant full & large section of pub closed off for 18th birthday group. Was not allowed to buy from children’s menu, only carvery, which of course they refused to eat. Carvery itself had poor selection of veg and meat served by chef was less than generous, less than moderate. He was tight. It was not expensive but the only good thing I can say is the gravy was nice.
