“We had an appalling experience during our visit. The greeting staff were rude, and despite having a reservation, we were made to wait 15 minutes before being shown to our table. When my daughter sat on one of the chairs at the table, she discovered it was completely saturated, leaving her trousers soaked. We raised the issue with the staff, but all we received was a brief apology. On top of this, the drinks were overpriced, the food was cold, and only one person was serving at the carvery, causing long delays. My daughter then had to endure nearly two hours in the car with wet trousers. Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing experience.”

Staff and food was lovely, The wai for tables and food was bad.

Food is very nice and has lots of options however is extremely busy and the waitress are very slow. Got seated 15 minutes after our booking time and had to wait 35 minutes to pay our bill even though your waitress was stood at the table next to us waiting for another customer in the toilet when she could of served us

I just come back from the carvery place now with my brother and sister and was very pleased with the service that we received from a very pleasant young lady who had excellent customer service skills and the gentleman on the carvery serving the meats. So sorry that I don't have their names.

Food was cold. Equipment was not working properly so food wasn't hot. you could do better Toby carvery.

Lovely food and excellent service. Just a shame we couldn't get a take out dinner for a family member as takeaway containers had run out.would recommend for a lovely value for money carvery!!!

The food was lovely, great selection. Adam the chef on carvery was on his own out front and worked like a trojan. He was polite, efficient and carved the meat beautifully. Adam is an absolute credit to you, but he could of done with a hand tonight, to take the pressure off. Hats off to him, he was a star.

Having use this carvery a number of time this has to be the worst visit I have ever had there was a 45 minute wait past our booking time of 14 00 hours and then to be told that the two most popular meats were no longer available so we were left with beef and gammon as the only option. If this establishment cannot cope with it customer count then it should close it doors until it can

Very busy but the carver was so nice and friendly and apologetic for the long wait. Very fresh and tasty food.

I do love a nice carvery, but last time I went wasn't as good, as in lack of normal roast spuds not beef dripping ones, but still enjoyed my meal.

Good food at a good price and our waitress milena was very friendly , knowlegable about the restaurant and gave us good service as and when we asked her for things . We will be back again soon , and hope milena is there .

The carvery was brilliant. ADAM the chef was so good an d helpful He helped our aunt who is very old and slow was very patient with her and kept others in the queue waiting all smiling ! Well done

The staff were really friendly and helpfull. It was really busy but got served and seen quick. Also a nice clean store.

Sunday family lunch. The food was tasty and plenty of it. Milena our server was excellent attentive and engaging checking to ensure we had everything we needed. Milena is a credit to Clare and her team. I recommended the Gravesend Toby to anyone wanting a great Sunday meal

As always a lovely, great value meal with the family. Good food choices and plenty of it. Our waitress Milena was brilliant, very helpful and attentive.

3 of the 4 staff in the eating area were very polite and helpful. The 4th ( non uniform manageress) turned us away because we asked for a table for 4 in an half empty restaurant.. so went back 5 minutes later and asked for 2 tables for 2 and the very polite staff said we could actually have a table for 4 as they had lots of room .

All good. Particularly helpful waitress called Milena- who is always so friendly 🙂

We booked up the fork and reserved our table so we went at said time for them to tell me there is no booking for us it's stupid diabloicke and said there's no table for 7 hours wasn't helpful crap manager was all upset as we had gone 20 mikes out of our way to meet up with family and they came from Croydon so what a crap experiance

Always well looked after when our favourite waitress, Milena, is working. So friendly, attentive & extremely efficient. Served our Carvery today by Adam, a new Chef. He was also very friendly & had time to have a quick chat with everyone, even though it was busy. An enjoyable meal in our local Toby Carvery.

Adam the chef , the food was absolutely amazing of all the times we have been in her egg the food today was the best we’ve had ! And the atmosphere was great too the ice cream again was the best we’ve had and the presentation was Great Thank you

Food was cold eggs over cooked. No scrambled egg. Bread had to go through toaster 3 times for toast. Very disappointing.

Pre booked because they are always busy, had a great meal although they didn't have the usual good selection of veg.

Thanks to Toby We had a lovely experience as a family of 6 for my mum's birthday, food was nice and always replenished. A special thank you to Chelsea who made my mum feel so special as she was so friendly and helpful and made my mum's day, We'll be back again soon

The beef was completely inedible. Chewy and tough. I ordered gravy and didn't get it. It took over an hour from placing my order to recieving it.

I had a Sunday dinner carvery,was served with helpful and pleasant staff, there wasn't much of a queue when I went up with my plate,all good was hot,with plenty of veg and roast potatoes and their in house gravy and I finished my plate that's how good it was,with a honeycomb sundae to follow. I would defo recommend this place for a meal especially the Sunday carvery. But u must book ahead to avoid disappointment.👍👍👍

Staff here are always friendly, attentive but not intrusive which must be a real challenge for them at times as they are often extremely busy.We always book in advance as this is a popular Toby Carvery esp at peak times (request any highchairs at the time of booking).Little ones are well catered for at a Toby and very small children (toddlers) can even have free veg of your choice served in a small green plastic bowl and just add a small amount of meat to it from your own plate back at the table plus gravy. Wish they still did their oven roasted onions in gravy as part of their veg selection as they were a particular favourite of ours but we never seem to see them anymore 😔 My husband always enjoys their crumble for dessert.

Good breakfast but could have been a bit warmer.

After reading the recent reviews. I thought this was gonna be good food here. How wrong was I. Everything thing was cold. The roasts were like they were cooked yesterday. The cauliflower cheese was cold and tasteless. Was well disappointed.. on the upside. The beef was exceptional. Melted in your mouth. And the Yorkshire were massive. I don't. Maybe on another day..it could be different. I'll be avoiding this one for definite.

Service was very good despite it being incredibly busy due to it being Christmas Day . The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was very good although several items had run out and had not been replenished when I went up to the carvery .

If you like a roast, this is the place to eat

Food was standard but the girls behind the bar were great. Especially Chelsie, she went the extra mile and was a good laugh aswell.

Mileage our waitress was super helpful as was my first time here. Joe who showed us to the table was equally as good. Food was fantastic and my eye were bigger than my belly. Will be back soon. I promise.

Disappointed with the greeting we recieved. I realise they were busy, we were turned away, so stood in the car park. Booked a table to be seated straight away! Food was OK, but not anything special.

Worst service ever starting from the entrance/reception. The girl was so unhelpful and not interested to assist us in getting a table to sit and eat.

If they sliced the meat any thinner it would be transparent ! When I queried it they said that’s how they are taught ! No surprise there really. Don’t bother getting a large plate meat was the same.

Absolutely terrible. Had a table booked. we arrived at 7.10 had to queue for 25mins before checking in,once we checked in we was left waiting in the bar area for half an hour, i had to go and ask the staff why we was still waiting here only then did we get to sit at the table. Went to get the food to find yet another queue which would of been another half hour+ wait at this point we decided we had had enough and left. Would not recommend

Wasn’t busy but drinks took so long we were halfway through our meals when they came and the glasses they were served in were really dirty. Cutlery didn’t look very clean either. Food was acceptable but potatoes were quite hard and chewy ..

Milena gave outstanding service as per usual. She is the best waitress you have at Gravesend.

booked online for 2.20 pm as everything was fully booked prior and requested one of 4 tables - happy to wait. Previously when I visited Gravesend, I was totally ignored by the reception female attendant and it was only the waitress who recognised me, why I even think I got served and taken to one of my tables that I like. This time it was bedlam and so I waited by the bar. The reception male attendant took me to table 6 even though 5A appeared to be deserted. Was told that it was not available. There was no apology. I got hte distinct impression that the attitude was - if you do not like it - you got to lump it - I am busy! Normally I would clear a table myself as I do not mind clearing it, as long as I get one of the tables i like. I found my anxiety was taking over as I was seated besides a family who had a large pram by their table. I told the guy that table 6 was unacceptable and after a few words with him- I walked out. He was obviously new to the job as he was a new face to me like the female before Two new attendants and two disasters - just hope it may be an attendant who I know next time I go and knows my issues Seen the share price of Mitchells and Butlers go down in the last couple of weeks and if this is the attitude that you get when you attend as a single person _ i am not surprised

We had to wait ages to be seated. Then told to wait in the bar! even though we had booked. I asked for well done beef! Well it was definitely well done! I got all the hard dry bits around the side of the beef. I couldn’t even eat it. The small lump of gammon was all fat. He said hope you don’t mind the fat. The rest of the food wasn’t very warm. Very disappointed.

I must say Milena is an amazing person polite and kind couldn’t do enough for us, such a hard worker. Also had a lovely meal.

After arriving and waiting for a booked table, we had to ask for the glasses and cutlery for our meal as after nearly 20 mins from asking they still hadn't arrived. The 'chef' gave out meat as though he had paid for it himself, limiting it to one small slice per meat and even removed some from my husbands plate after putting it on the plate. He also had no idea how to carve and then scraped it from the counter (not carving board) to put on my plate. The veg selection was extremely poor and also cold. The price has nearly doubled from what it used to be but the standard and quality of food has greatly diminished. I can not blame the 'waitresses' as there was only 2 working on a busy lunchtime shift and they were expected to wait and clean tables, work behind the bar, plate up desserts and box up the takeaway food. In short, an awful experience and one I hope never to repeat.

Haven't been to a Toby for years. Visited this one and the food was lovely! Had lots of choice and everything was cooked well and hot. Blue light card you get 20% off.

Tiny amount of meat, the beef was basically all gristle and the roast potatoes were rubbery. Nice pigs in blankets. Nice gravy. Oh and the Yorkshire pudding was well over done, it was like prawn cracker.
