Milena was a brilliant very caring. Food was top nosh staff was all brilliant n friendly

Always busy,great food and waitresses running around.. Shift supervisor allowed me in despite being 20 mins late.Always good service by a waiter called elliot quiet but a speedy service when called upon done in double quick time.

The blonde girl greeting us didn’t smile and wasn’t welcoming . We had booked and were taken to a table and told we could get our food and she would arrange drinks we requested . Queued for food and although very busy in that moment the woman who served us was very pleasant even though at that time she seemed to be working alone and was so busy , getting Turkey , then plates , then yorkshires .she still took the time to greet us and explain what she was doing . Superstar . The food was good . Returning to the table , still no drinks .The waitress eventually told us she would get our drinks once we got her attention . The food was really good , we soon finished and asked for the bill which was eventually put on the table however we had a nhs discount , the waitress Was stern saying she didn’t know ( this was because we had no opportunity to say . We then needed to ask for the machine , we could see her talking and waited , and waited , and waited .As she passed again I reminded her , she told us they needed more staff as it was so busy , but at this time it wasn’t really . To sum up , greeting very poor , food service excellent ! Food very good and area nice and clean . Waitress not great to moan to customers that your soooo busy . Won’t be quick to return .

Always our go to for a family meal or roast. The quality and variety of food is always fantastic and the service is spot on. Staff are welcoming, friendly and we're rarely waiting longer than a couple of minutes without someone checking in on our table! Also one of the few restaurants in the area with a good array of vegan and gluten-free options.

Ordered delivery, paid priority for fast service. Waited over an hour and then they didn’t send the roast potatoes or the Yorkshire puddings!! Sent all the hard peas and manky carrots and left off the best bits. Avoid at all costs.

Fourth visit for myself, got checked in and sat in the bar with a drink, didn't wait long for our table. We had a Sunday roast, I had the vegetarian option, very nice too. Although very very busy, there were lots of staff around and all seemed happy in their work. We came out very satisfied with the food, ambience and glad we went. Definitely going again.

Paid for two meals with pigs in blankets, everything arrived except for the aforementioned pigs in blankets. Otherwise, everything was perfect

Never been to a busier carvery and the staff who were present were working their socks off. Bacon crispy, everything fresh, restaurant was clean.

Booked a table for lunchtime. The restaurant was busy but we were greeted with a friendly smile and quickly shown to our table. The guy serving the meat was friendly, all the vegetables looked freshly cooked and were replenished straight away when needed. All the condiments by the gravy were full up (other Tobys I’ve visited have always needed refilling). We were served by Milena, she was friendly and courteous. A real credit to Toby Carvery. Please pass on my thanks to her.

Friendly staff, but very bad service. Burger and wrap took an hour to prepare (waiter said about 15-20min) when restaurant was almost empty. During our waiting time, lots of new tables came, managed to finish the meal and pay the bill, while we were waiting for our quick trip snack, till the moment when I started to complain about waiting time. Wouldn't recommend to stop there for a quick mean.

Was served by Chelsea, warm and attentive, chelsea went to great lengths to ensure the service and food was good, a pleasant member of staff who made our meal a truly pleasant experience

Fantastic meal at Toby and made even better by Chelsea who was bright and cheerful and always had a smile on her face. She is definitely a credit to Toby Gravesend 👏👏

I brought my friend who’s visiting from Australia. I was so excited to share the experience with her! Unfortunately, we left very disappointed! I can’t believe how the meat is being carved! It’s so wafer thin!! The cauliflower cheese was disgusting! Inedible in fact! The food area wasn't very inviting. I get they’ll be food dropped from customers but regular cleaning could help tidy the areas - the food was there from when we entered until we left! I can only imagine what the food preparation areas are like

Very warm welcome and great food

Have always felt welcomed by the staff when coming to this Toby. Both breakfasts and the roast meals that we have had here over the last 3 years have been excellent. We love the breakfasts in particular as it fills you up for the day and there are plenty of options even for picky eaters!!!

Met a couple of friends for a Sunday roast. It was very busy but the staff had it under control. Our server was very friendly and incredibly helpful. Top marks to her.

Pretty standard Toby. Everything to be expected, staff are friendly and helpful. Good location for motorists on a long journey on the A2 and good for local residents as the supermarket and industrial estate are just around the corner.

this place is always consistently serving high quality, warm, generous portions of food for an amazing price. I love the fact that you can get unlimited yorkies and veg. It is insanely amazing.

Had the Sunday lunch to take away, it was nice. Lovely Yorkshire pudding, lots of veg, roasties, nice gravy & plenty of meat. The restaurant was very busy but the staff seemed on top of it. Friendly staff.

Everything was ok with food, but a bit disgusted with the waitress who thought it was perfectly fine to go outside and stroke a dog then come in and go and serve drinks at the bar without washing her hands.... totally unacceptable!

The meal wasn't very nice at all. The mash was very dry, and the roast potatoes We're tasteless.i had to leave it. I did say to the Waitress, and all I got was sorry about that. Very poor .I've always been happy with the meals at toby but not on that day.

Hot and a large portion of everything very impressive

Food came really hot! Generous with the portion size and meat was lovely! Wish they would have put in a few more vegetables ( I only got given cauliflower and carrots) but it tasted amazing. Will order again.

First visit since refurb. So much nicer than before. Horrible canteen environment has been replaced by carpeted room with nicely laid out seating. Very good value .

The staff were great and the manager Clare had also read my comments from the night before when I booked and even held the table that I requested even though my party was late. There was a good selection of vegetables and the server provided a good portion of meat which was most appreciated.

I liked the place very cool. I was warmly received and given a table without reservation. This is another plus. It is worth visiting.

Chelsea and Carol were excellent

Was seated in a good time but was told that we’d have a server come to us since we had a young toddler with us and then turns out we waited 20 minutes just to be told we could go straight up to get our dinner, also couldn’t get a server’s attention long enough to order dessert and had to walk up to a server to get the bill

Food was cold eggs over cooked. No scrambled egg. Bread had to go through toaster 3 times for toast. Very disappointing.

Everytime we come here we always recieve excellent service from Annalise. She clearly enjoys her job and puts the customer experience at the forefront of her work. She's recognised us from previous visits and made a point to come and say hello and ask how we are doing. Fantastic customer experience and a true gem and credit to the company.

Went there with my partner this evening, the food was delicious, the meat was moist and tasty and portions were at its best. Veg was good also. Highly recommend

A really mediocre experience. Very stingy with the meat, basic roast potatoes & veg. What is that white sauce? Bread sauce?? Nice enough stuffing & Yorkshire pudding. Very lax "waitresses", tending to congregate around the bus stand, chatting & hugging each other. I won't visit again. Wetherspoon's is much better value, service & atmosphere.

It was a bank holiday and it was packed at 10am for the all you can eat breakfast. Long queue for food as it kept running out. very under staffed. The staff were doing the best they could and were always serving with a smile but they seemed over worked. Sausages were delicious but the hash browns were a little soggy and not crisp enough

We went this weekend to Toby at Gravesend for lunch, after many years of not visiting. It was good to receive good friendly service from all the staff's, from the waitress, waiter and chefs serving the food. Thank you.

Went on a Sunday afternoon later than normal but still busy which was not a problem. In the past the chain was good value but nothing special, now after this visit ( first in over 3 years) I must say it’s poor. The veg was dry, the toast potatoes were soft, the stuffing was like putty and the meat portion given was small. They are far better lunches to have for £17.00 around that to have school type meals in a not so attractive internal and location.

This is not our local Toby but we travel to this branch because it is easy to park, the staff are always friendly and accommodating and the food is amazing value. It is a smaller venue than the other Tobys which we also prefer.

Toby never disappoints in service, and in real value for money. I had the Carvery, because I had a discount offer that expired that day. Booking a table online takes seconds; promptly seated; instant self-service; prompt payment at the end. CAN NOT FAULT A THING!

It was very busy at Sunday but the food and the service was excellent.

Waiting on chef to carve took ages as he was faffing, food quality not great and felt very rushed. Servers were excellent so polite and friendly.

Although I am not a fan of carvery meals, as it close to home we thought that as we had not visited for while we would give a go. We arrived at our 15.00 appointed time to be shown to our table which was situated by the entrance to the kitchen. The charming waitress advised us of the procedure of dining rules. My wife does not eat large portions, so ordered from the wraps menu a beef Yorkshire pudding wrap with the beef dripping glaze and a side of pigs in blankets. I went for the carvery, this was, for a better word slopped on the plate, no consideration of presentation along with my requests of smaller portions of the vegetables, to add to that he added enough gravey to float a small boat. I returned to my table to find my wife had not received her food, fact it turned up halfway through my meal. The salad that accompanied the wrap had no dressing, with that a chef arrived at our table and apologised that they had run out fo salad dressing along with the beef dripping he offered mayonnaise for a substitution which she disappointedly accepted. On the whole it was a disappointing visit. This is not a criticism of the waitress staff who were excellent.

Had a table booked for 7pm for a birthday - we were then told the occupiers of our table we had booked were just paying and it “shouldn’t be too long a wait.” We then had to wait 45 minutes for the table to become available and made no effort to accommodate us in any way. Once the group did vacate the table, staff then waited an additional 15 minutes to clear it before we could even sit down. One member of staff was actively avoiding clearing the table. This left a sour taste before the even got to the food. We weren’t the only ones who had to wait either; poor waiter behind the bar was doing the best they could to accommodate people and their frustrations. No offer of a reduction to the bill or any other form of compensation. Needless to say, a return is incredibly unlikely based on this experience.

When you read the reviews about the service believe it…decided to give it another go as the food is decent…this is the third time we’ve been left standing at the desk to check into our booked table & not one acknowledgment from a member of staff… finally sat down got our mains and drinks quickly…waitress came over to ask if we wanted dessert and we said we’d have a look at the menu…nearly 25 minutes later our dessert order hadn’t been taken…went to the till to pay the bill as we were fed up waiting,complained to the waitress..no sorry nothing…while one of the other young waitresses laughed at me as I complained…totally not acceptable.. 3rd time same complaint..rude staff…won’t be returning, such a shame as food is quite good…

We've just left the restaurant and the young waiter who we had was absolutely amazing even though another staff member called in sick and he was left pretty much doing it all. He was also reduced to tears by another waitress which was totally unacceptable. The food is good and value for money. I think the manager should have had a word with the next table to us as they were falling on the floor...knocking into tables and nothing was said. Not what you want when you are trying to eat your meal!

Visited this restaurant on a Monday evening with 5 other people. On arrival it was apparent to us that the restaurant was busy but not by any means at all packed out. We waited in a queue for about 5 minutes at the front desk waiting for someone to greet us which a very unfriendly woman eventually did, I think she must have skipped the customer service training along with never having been taught how to smile. She informed us that they were 'full' although they were most definitely not, many empty unlaid tables made this difficult to believe. She also said that they could not move tables or chairs giving no explanation as to why. We asked if we could sit in the bar area which was completely empty to which we were told they were not allowed to serve food in the bar area, again something I struggle to believe. The blank and nonchalant expression on the 'greeters' face was the last straw so we left. Think maybe she should be kept back of house as opposed to being the face of the restaurant.

when i walked inside of the restaurant i got served straight away. the food was warm and well cooked by there amazing chefs very fast service. And the environment was amazing. Definitely deserves 5 stars

Booked table for 6 for family evening meal, arrived slightly early, Front of house was very accommodating, we was seated quickly, service was great, Food very nice.

Well, if it's unusual, you just have to try it, right? A Yorkshire pud for breakfast. Pud, mushrooms, sausage, bacon, some sort of potato mix, black pudding and Toby's special gravy. It's my own fault because it's serve yourself at the Toby Carvery. It wasn't bad at all as an experiment. There are also eggs, tom's and hash browns to choose from, along with toast etc. Service is polite, the place is clean and the food is fine. Tea and Coffee is on tap with refillables. It's a mid range affair, but for those who like unlimited, eat all you can breakfasts, the Toby Carvery could be the perfect spot. It's surprisingly cheap too at approx £10 per head. Booking is advised and parking is right outside.

The manager is FOUL. I have had multiple encounters with him regarding poor service and his attitude is horrendous. Many times we have ordered a takeaway and it has gone wrong, we have reached out to the restaurant and on each occasion our query has been met with sarcasm, attitude and outright rudeness. The manager is always extremely unhelpful and does not care about the quality of service. Avoid at all costs, take your money to another branch!

Stopped in at the Gravesend on the off chance this Saturday. The staff were very friendly, especially Claire. She made sure we was thoroughly looked after. The food was tasty and delivered promptly, plus a wide range of drinks from the bar was very much appreciated

Waited 5mins to be seated, only to be told there was no room, even though the restaurant was only half full. Suspect they didn’t have enough staff to serve a full restaurant. All failings blamed on ‘the system’. None of the staff managed to crack a smile. Terrible customer service

It was nice but this was the second time I ordered this and did not receive the chocolate cake.
