Been here several times in the past and it's always good!

Always busy but I think it's a good thing and booking is essential queuing for the food can be long with only one person serving but food is worth the wait. Always good eye candy as well.

We went to the Toby carvery today it was very nice and we got a bonus, being over 60 over we got our meals and at a discount

I love this carvery....food always great & service too.....does get very busy so booking is advisable.

Visited on a mid week evening when they were offering 50% off. They fitted us in despite us being later than booked. There was a bit of a wait for service but they were understably very busy. The carvery was good as always although the sides were a little dry and looked like they needed replenishing. The service was friendly and overall it was a good meal.

Meal with family today at Colgharbour- Gravesend Toby Carvery Our server Chelsea was fantastic, nothing was too much. She made us feel so welcome and relaxed . It was an absolute pleasure today ! We look to rebooting in the future and hope to be served by Chelsea . Regards

Chelsea was very friendly and made sure all our needs were met, including helping my mum a few times who is disabled. Bradley carved the meat well and gave nice portion sizes. The sides were hot and fresh and checked regularly. Even had room for the crumble of the day. The partition walls meant to help with the noise are a bit wobbly and can get knocked by neighbouring tables

Chelsea our server was absolutely the most attentive and lovely- made us feel like we were the only guests! Thanks you Chelsea - you were fabulous and such fun xx Also praise to Bradley the carver - the meats were so delicious and such a variety of choice x

We booked a table for 6.30 as we had to get back for childcare. The queue was out the door when we arrived early. By 6.50 we asked the hostess how much longer it would be and were told probably another 15 minutes. Even if we’d been sat, the queue for the carvery was all the way around the restaurant. What is the point of a booking system if tables aren’t available?

The food wasn't good at all. Everything that was available, which wasn't much, was overcooked and dehydrated. However, the ladies working were very kind, patient and worked hard to rectify the situation.

The stuffing was too dry and the beef was like chewing on a bit of old leather. There was two adults and two children. I asked three members of staff for refill glasses for us all and by the time we got them we had finished our meal and were ready to leave so the two adults didn’t want the drinks and the two children only drank about a quarter of their drinks. One adult had a king size meal and the amount of meat was no different from the smaller meal. I was very unhappy with both the service and the food quality. I used to visit tobey in different places about two sometimes three times a week but I have noticed the prices are going up and the service and food is deteriorating. I think I will be finding somewhere else to eat

Arrived early lunchtime. Seated straight away and Chelsea our waitress was very friendly and helpful couldn’t do enough for us. Only disappointment was that the ice cream machine wasn’t working. However carvery was tasty and hot.

Great service from a lovely young lady called Annaleise she is very helpful and polite always making sure we needed anything We would definitely come back if she was my waitress again

The Gravesend Toby is one of the best I've visited, it's more modern than the usual sites but it's still very good.

My waitress Annaleise was so lovely and really took care of us for the evening and it made up for bad beef. Would love to come back if she’s my waitress again!!

Did not have a booking We're seated straight away our drink rider taken and arrived within minutes. Food was all fresh and hot Our servers were friendly polite and chatty Attentive but not overly. We had not seen each other in years so had a lot of chatting to do and were not rushed at all A pleasurable afternoon Thank you Jane, Chelsea, Jeanette

The food was hot and so tasty. Very fresh and not dry at all. The desserts arrived promptly.

Make sure you don’t get the bench seating area in the corner of the restaurant It ruins the meal as it is tucked in the corner and not easy to get out to get a drink or visit the toilet without disturbing anyone eating there meal

Marvellous choice of meats and vegetables, happy staff and clean restaurant, highly recommend. Jane was the Carver and Chelsea was our server.

Food tasted good,but the meat could have been a lot hotter. A bit shy on the meat serving.

We booked table for 2.30 got settled went got food then sat down had no knife and fork ask 3 time and the said yes but the said its cos it's busy that not out problem then coke was flat and they was not happy that I told them then went and ask for bill and girl said go to bar cos she busy that's not on said to girl I was not happy with service and she was so rude to me saying we are so busy we don't need all this from me your staff are not very nice

Excellent service and meal,served by Milena,who helped me with getting my food and looking after me as I'm a wheelchair user. I can't thank her enough.Most definitely a pleasant day out.

Our server was Milena. She was so lovely and caring. She couldn't do enough for us to make our experience at the restaurant a happy one. Lucky Toby Carvery to have such a gem!

Waitress was lovely. The woman that showed us to our table wasn't as good. I went with an autistic gentleman and found her staring at him was very rude and unnecessary. Her manner towards him wasn't pleasant. I had to ask for glasses as they were never bought to us for our drinks. Food good. Nice clean restaurant.

I didn't book so was told there was a half hour wait which is reasonable. Thinking I could pass the half hour at the bar with a drink, I agreed to wait but was told there was nobody to serve me as they were presumably too busy and told to just sit and wait for a table so I left the restaurant and went elsewhere.

Food was really good. Milena was amazing. She always is. Very polite and always so helpful. Thank you for all the extra bits you do. She is always so busy but makes time to find out if everything is ok.

Estoy totalmente decepcionado por el Apple Crumble que pedí a través de Deliveroo. La pastelería no estaba a la altura del estándar del restaurante. Por esta razón, estoy calificando este desierto en particular como 1 / 2 estrella. Espero que el estándar mejore.

Usual Toby Carvery, meat nice, nice selection of veges. Long time in queue but can't be helped as busy that night.

The food and drinks were great. It was very busy but we were seated quickly and given a highchair as requested on our booking. We did have to go up to a till point two times to ask for our bill.

was told it would be delivered between 19.30-1955 that then changed to 20:09 which then by the time It arrived was 20:16 so our dinner was 20 mins late

very disappointed with the breakfast. I asked for the beans & tomatoes to be put in a separate container and they put them all over the breakfast making it all soggy & horrible. the mushrooms were like charcoal where they'd been well over cooked.

staff named annalisa is a very rude staff of this place. she did not get my order right twice as she was showing a very inappropriate behaviour towards me. she walked away twice when i was trying to take my wrong twice. me and family has been coming to toby's gravesend for a long time as we love the foods and staff before who came and assisted us were lovely and very professionals but tonight it was my first time that staff from this carvery showed a very disgusting attitude towards costumers. These are the kind of people shouldn't be accepted to work in a place that needs social skills which this person surely don't have.

Really nice meal, really nice staff. Feels a little cramped as though the company is trying to squeeze in as many people as possible.

Wonderful food good value for money served by Chef adam very professional and attentive to customers needs a very valuable asset to mitchell and butler and we have been to many tobys but treated very well at gravesend

it was large but cold and roast potatoes was like rubber to eat and cold and did not like the large lumps of cauliflower stokes will not be doing this again

Why do they say they have a phone and give the number yet I spend more than 25 minutes trying to call and not an answer, I leave a message as they say to and no response back. It’s just rookie

We arrived at 6:55pm table was booked for 7pm had to wait over 15mins for our table. Staff were friendly but approached our table 3 times in short space of time we was there. They did however inform us of the money off deals on the app which we were not aware of. The area were the gravy was served was messy and condiment spillage. Condiments were bot labelled so unless you could tell by smell or first glance you wouldn't know what you were having as also poorly lit area. Presentation could be improved.

The selection of sides was fantastic but the portion sizes of meat were pretty small and the organisation was somewhat lacking. That was not the fault of the staff as they were lovely. It's a results of the way the business is set up. If you order anything other than carvery you have to guess when to join the queue with your family to ensure you all get your food at the same time. The staff were really nice and there was a good selection of sides. The quality of these was mixed but the price represents good value.

Food was amazing, see a lot of people here moaning about wait times but if you go at a busy time, you can see how many people are queueing for the carvery it's about common sense. We went at a quiet time for lunch and it was lovely

We have always enjoyed dining at this restaurant!. The latest experience, let us down is all the aspects. We started queueing the carvery display to see that the only meat available was turkey and a few portions or beef, gammon, and pork. The guy at the carvery looked embarrassed too, having many customers asking the same question, if any more meat was replacing the leftover. Had our dinner, trying to enjoy the time anyway, and when we asked for the bill, we thought that a piece of feedback would have helped the management to improve the experience. The waiter dumped a pile of dirty plates on our table while she took the card payment, and after having shared the feedback, she just laughed straight in our face without saying a word!!! Sorry Toby at Gravesend, but I don't think we will come back.

We booked late so not sure if there would be much left. Was totally surprised by everything as it was full of fresh food and an amazing selection of meats. Gammon,pork , turkey,beef and lamb. 2 different roast potatoes and the best selection of veg and sides I've seen in many years. Clean tidy and staff couldn't have been more friendly. We were a group of 4.

I've always been a fan of a carvery, and Toby does a better job than most. This is a relatively new build restaurant to most that I have been in before. Great food with a decent choice.

Milena was absolutely wonderful, beautiful service and the food was so good. It was Sunday so busy but she made sure that we had everything. Definitely coming back

Staff were friendly but weren't informing people that their machine for topping up drinks wasn't working which created a long delay for one of our party.

The waiting staff here are superb BUT Toby and the management team are asking far too much of them ! We were waiting an age after our main course to order a dessert and so were those around us, in fact to the extent customers paid and left without ordering dessert. The food was not overly hot but the selection was really good. To summarise, one additional member of waiting staff would have made an incredible impact for My wife and I and those we were speaking to in the immediate area.

Food was excellent but the premises was a bit run down and could do with a refurbishment.

Milena is an outstanding member of the Toby team and has consistently been so since we have been visiting the Toby over the last several years. She goes above and beyond her duty and clearly loves her job, we look forward to seeing her upon every visit.

Food was as good as the restaurant and portions were massive, the child’s portion was as big as the adults!

After a late finish at work on December 1st, decided to get two takeaway roasts via Just Eat. It was a disappointing experience, and not for the first time. We bought two roast dinners and paid extra for pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese and gravy, none of these paid for extras were provided. We tried to call the restaurant, - no answer. We tried via the website, which was now displaying 'closed'. We tried Just Eat, and their info@ address just bounced our message back saying this mailbox is no longer managed. Very helpful. Then it suggested contacting Just Eat via their help page, but the link didn't work. The only link that did appear to work (but was of no use) was the one for their partners to contact them. I called Toby again the next day via the number on the website, again no answer. This is probably the third time I have ordered in this way, and each time I pray that it is going to be better than the last, but it never is. I will not be trying roast deliveries again, as it is just so disappointing. Not just because they keep leaving bits of the order out, but mainly because there is no-one that you can speak to easily, to get it put right. Whilst you are faffing around trying to reach someone, the rest of the food is spoiling. Four stars, because the food we actually did get, (although very dry), was quite nice. One star for the service, which was virtually non-existent. Once the food has left the restaurant, you are on your own. No helpline.........nothing! Must try harder!

Fantastic fresh food, hot and plenty of it

It was dreadful the meal come to us cold, the veg was hard so wasn't cooked fully, there was missing meats and no gravy when we ordered it never be ordering again from here

watery mash no stuffing only 3 roast potatoes only peas and carrots yorkshire half the size only 1 slice of beef gravy was mostly leaked in the bag

Food and service was great. The toilets and eating area need cleaning and some TLC and hence the lower score.

I turned up at the Toby carvery doors at 8:50pm and online I was clearly shown that the restaurant closes at 10pm. The doors were locked and we proceeded to call the restaurant and they did in fact say they were closed an hour before stated online. I am unhappy and one less carvery full.

Don't understand why The Toby didn't accept my Armed forces discount card today The waitress said I needed a voucher but couldn't find it on the site.The card should have been adequate as it says.im an army veteran.It wasn't clear you needed a voucher and a discount card.Your reply does not answer my question, why is an Armed Forces discount cardnnot good enough

Food is normally very good, but went to first sitting today 12 pm. Almost first in the queue, so saw turkey when it was brought out for serving and it wasn’t browned as normal. The person in front of me had the turkey and it did look okay and was a white colour. So I thought it would be okay, and ordered the turkey. I have really bad diarrhoea, and that was the only thing I ate today. Am sure it was the turkey that was the reason. They did have a notice up to at the front door that there was people off sick that day. Perhaps the person cooking didn’t get the timing right . People beware if staff are off sick, the people standing in may make mistakes

Was not impressed at all. Turning people away before 9 pm staff loading up food to take home while people still eating. Chef didn’t want to serve us . Not a good experience and waste of money

Pretty awful dining. The restaurant was busy which wasn't the issue however it took 20 for our starters to come. No gluten free starter options or bread to go with my prawn cocktail which is a shame because they are happy to provide for the vegetarians and vegans. This is not right, being gluten free is not a choice but medical reason so do better! The main carvery only had gluten free gravy which to be honest was pretty awful. The beef was ok but the potatoes could have been used as weapons and the peas were so hard they were impossible to eat. On the whole not worth the money and the food wasnt very nice. Obviously couldnt stay for pudding because the vegans got their options but not the people who couldn't eat gluten. Will not be going again, there are better carverys around.

All good brilliant, however was charged twice for the same order, hopefully someone reads this and gets it sorted because no-one answering the phone at the restaurant..

Went with all the family for the breakfast with Father Christmas on Saturday 14th December and it was excellent. The staff were so helpful and friendly and Father Christmas was amazing! The food was also excellent. We came last year and will definitely come again. Thank you!

Not been here for a while. We have a daughter (2yr old) with allergies. Manager looked after us great, we were offered the option of help ourselves or they would prepare fresh from product still in the kitchen. Great to see guest with allergens being managed in such a professional non fussy way. High praise indeed to the team. And little legs had a good go at her meal

Absolutely disgraceful we booked a table for 2 for 5.10pm at still waiting half hour later people coming in after us that had booked for a later time and also tables for 2 were going in before. When we spoke to the manager was told I’m just reading from the computer. There was no apology nothing will not be going there again!!

We come for breakfast with Santa and was blown away by the experience. The whole family enjoyed it. Well done Santa. Memory made.

The food was cold, overcooked and dry, the Yorkshires were do tough that they couldn't be cut! The cutlery looked dirty.

Crap, utter rubbish food. It's expensive for the quality it is. They are serving takeaways while we're trying to get our dinner. So by the time I'd finished mine, my wife had just got to the table. Fantastic...not

I have just visited Toby Carvery Gravesend and the food was absolutely disgusting. The starter was supposed to be garlic bread, but what came to me on a plate was 2 tiny bits of bread with garlic sprinkle over it . Then the main course which we helped ourselves which first came Yorkshire pudding stone cold, roasted potatoes i could not cut and were overcooked. Vegetables were fairly good and gravy was warm not hot. Dessert was good. We have been to breakfast before this visit and that was worse than the carvery. There was 16 of us and we will not be recommending to anyone to go there. The waiting staff were excellent and very helpful, polite plus nothing was too much trouble.
