Food ok but some of staff didn't have any customer care ie. Whipped away dessert plate hadn't even finished was told they needed the table. Then had to wait 25 mins to pay no reason given other than a faulty card machine which was used at other tables.tranpires we had a new waitress no support for her from other members of staff. And no real heart felt apology.

We were a party of four, 2 adults & two children on our way to the cinema. I asked on arrival if it was possible to be seated and eat very quickly so we wouldn't be late for the film. A lovely waitress called Chloe looked after us, and the service she gave us was exceptional. Drinks were ready for us while we went for our food. We managed to eat and leave in time, but only thanks to Chloe. I have run a pub for over fifteen years and would love to say that Chloe deserves this feedback as she went above and beyond to make our visit extremely pleasant. Thank you, Chloe, for everything and the food was delicious. I would certainly recommend it. Lisa

After waiting in a queue for about 15 mins to get in we were greeted by a scruffy bloke with his shirt untucked who showed us to our seat and left without a word, after waiting at our table for another 20 minutes we asked another lady if we could go to the bar and order and she said she would come over and take our order. No chips or mash or rice available for the kids meals, just able to pick roast potatoes from the carvery, our kids don’t like roast potatoes so they had chicken nuggets and beans. Asked twice for another fruit shoot, it never arrived so we asked for the bill. On the bill we were charged for 4 carvery’s rather than 2 and the fruit shoot that never arrived. Twice they had to amend our bill to get it right. Got the overall impression that nobody working there could be bothered.

We all came down ill hour after we left bad tummy myself and 3 children was no beef dripping potatoes ither out which is a downfall 🙃 not happy as we're all now ill

The entire visit was nothing short of terrible. I've worked in hospitality for 11 years so fully understand how difficult it can be but the entire experience was atrocious! The main issues are listed below: We stood waiting to be sat for almost 10 minutes. After being taken to our seats, we waiting about 5 minutes for someone to come take our drinks order (my opinion is this should be done as soon as the customer is sat.) Whilst sitting at the table, there were no drinks menus available so had to look online. Once we'd got our carvery the food was cold from the start of us eating (despite being served from under the heat lamps.) We were almost halfway through our meals by the time our drinks and sides were served (sadly the pint of cider was the best part of the meal) We constantly overheard staff stating they'd got orders wrong (our waitress even stood at our table and asked us to wait whilst she corrected her last order) We repeatedly heard the waitress literally shouting "G" (assuming shouting for the manager) across the restaurant. Floor staff repeatedly criticising the kitchen to other customers During eating our food, I noticed the chef standing at the till system eating food (in hospitality, no member of staff should be standing on the FOH floor eating where customers can see them, especially in their chef whites!) Myself and my partner both ordered the king-size but didn't receive any Sausages, so we basically paid an extra £1.99 each for 1 extra Yorkshire pudding The table behind us left around 10 minutes after we arrived, when we left the restaurant over an hour after arriving, the dirty plates, glasses etc were still at the table that had left an hour beforehand I'm not usually one to complain about service as I work in hospitality so fully understand how it can be but during this time there were no more than 8 tables sat throughout the building and as stated at the beginning, the entire experience was atrocious!

Our latest visit to Toby Carvery was to pick up dinners purchased from the Too Good To Go app, meals made up from leftover items. This was great value but Toby is always good value for a carvery.

Sarah is always so welcoming, friendly and such a laugh! She creates such a lovely experience and atmosphere everytime I’ve been to Toby and she’s been my waitress. Sarah is a real credit to the team and has exceptional customer service skills! Look forward to seeing you next time! From Katie :)

Decent carvery,but the vegetables werent great. Bar service below average,not great signage to book your car to avoid a parking ticket. Bar and restaurant clean and tidy and a lovely friendly waitress.

To be honest although it was bank holiday the time we had got there it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be!! But if iam truely honest thr whole experience was poor from the service to getting our drinks and then you go up to get your carvery and it looked like there had been a food fight!! The whole entire hot plate look so unappetising which really put me odd! We've eaten here several times and has been fine but the whole experience was not okeasant even the seats were sticky along with the table!! We spent just over£104 pounds and even then we had to go up to them. So iam sorry to say you got a 1 out 10 from us

Kaitlyn and Steph were our servers today - the service was exceptional! I ordered a vegetarian main for my roast. They let me know when it was ready + let me skip the queue for the meat :)

Great service. My only complaint is that the server's said there was no mash today, rather than it wasn't ready yet, as my daughter would have waited. She was extra sad upon walking out and seeing a lovely big serving of her favourite mash potato.

Thought we’d try here for breakfast on a Saturday at about 10.15am and were told that they’d ran out of food! The following Saturday, we got there earlier and had breakfast, however, although most of the food was ok, the bread was like cardboard and the fried eggs were disgusting!!! There must have been about 30 eggs in the tray and every single one looked and felt like joke shop rubber eggs that had been sat there in the tray for too long … Nobody was taking them and staff just piled more on top, which were just as rubbery and disgusting! Unfortunately, the two items above completely spoiled our experience and we left, wishing we had tried elsewhere, which we will do next time. Toby carvery must be losing a lot of customers!!!

Booked a table, turned up at the booking to be told our table wasn’t ready - sit and eat in the bar. Ok, but not really the point of booking a table in the restaurant? Beef was very fatty, veg and gravy station looked like an absolute bomb site - pretty disgusting. This is consistently the worst Toby Carvery I visit.

The price on Sunday for a carvery is almost 50% higher than dining mid week. I consoled myself with the advertised claim that roast lamb is available on Saturdays and Sundays. But they had run out, and that's why I have given them only 2 stars. More than disappointing. Update to be fair - in March 2024 I returned midweek and was impressed, so am increasing the star rating. The carvery food tasted really good.

The food was value for money but luke warm, Such a shame. On the plus side the waitress Victoria was very helpful and friendly and a credit to her profession.

The service from Waitress Victoria was wonderful during my visit to the restaurant today. First class warm attentive service it was a pleasure to dine here again.

I took myself and my family for breakfast at this tobys, the breakfast was nice, being a self service set up it is very straight forward and you can eat till you die so that was nice, the scenery at this particular branch are really picturesque, there is a stream at the rear of the building which you can see from the window along with lovely forestry surroundings. Very tranquil. It was quite when we went which was around 10:30 on a Saturday which suited us. Very nice.

Really good experience. Although there were many guests, they still managed to be attentive and keep good service. Our waiter whos name was Will who was able to keep good service throughout the vist. Thank you Will and the duty manager for assuring our return soon.

Set near the Itchen navigation and recreation ground 5 minute walk away. Big car park (remember to log your registration at the entrance of the restaurant). Outdoor seating. Always enjoyed the food and they are a part of the 'Too good to go' community to prevent food waste. Which used and not been disappointed.

I was told my table wasn't quite ready and was left waiting for 59 minutes before I enquired only to be taken straight through to a virtually empty restaurant. Everything on the carvery was virtually flavourless and rubbery... I love my local Toby carvery in Worthing, this one just did not compare

We had a scrummy carvery - went on a Friday lunchtime and it was comfortably busy. Had a seat by the window with a nice little view of the river. The staff were really friendly, efficient and the carvery was delicious!. Definitely a return trip needed!.

Victoria served us today and she was amazing very polite, made effort to say hello to my little baby and always made sure we were ok . If anything was delayed she would give us an update and tell us. Brilliant person and service from her specially as we were a group of 12!

Always room for improvement, but generally was as expected. Everything was hot and a great selection of meats to choose from. Only criticism was that they had one selection of roast potatoes mixed with a gravy. Very bizarre and looked like people were avoiding them. There was a choice of plain roasted potatoes which were more traditional to a carvery.

Lovely lady called Joe answered the phone. Uber eats mistaken my order she was very helpful and rectified. Top staff A+++++

Thought we'd stop here for a spot of lunch before a local theatre visit at the point. Arrived at 1205pm and we were seated promptly. Ordered drinks and food by 1215pm, we decided not to go full carvery option (roast beef wrap and 2 kids orders, chicken burger and chicken nuggets) and were told it would be a 20 mins wait - which was fine for us. 1245pm the kids food arrived all ok......1255pm my food arrived (beef wrap). Kids felt uncomfortable that we all couldn't eat together and by the time my food arrived, kids had finished and we needed to be leaving for our theatre visit. Unfortunately I had to send my food back untouched as the delay it took to arrive was just far longer than what was explained to us. The staff were apologetic but we felt that because we didn't order a carvery the kitchen was unprepared for additional orders hence the delay. When trying to pay for what we did have the poor waitress had to try 3 different terminals of payment before she could find one that worked! All in all a very poor experience and I would not be recommending a visit.

We arrived for 1720 meal. The restaurant was already packed and Roast Potatoes had run out in addition to gravy. Although our server was pleasant service was slow and queues were very long for a Thursday evening. All in all a disappointment

I have mobility issues so when I booked a table online I stated this and asked if they can accommodate accessibility. When we arrived the guy who greeted us was great re: making sure that I had a choice of areas to sit and he - and other staff there - were very mindful and aware and offered help without me even needing to ask - eg swooped in and carried plate to table etc (I was on crutches that particular day), and were just very attentive without being overly so. Generally all staff seemed happy and each of the ones I saw/spoke to were all very friendly. The food was good - although signs above/next to the gravy would be a good idea - ie vegetarian, etc.. I’m not personally veggie and will eat either anyway, but it was the only observation that I made. Definitely a nice place for lunch and lovely staff always are good.

Waited ages for Yorkie wraps turned up cold the meat was scraps fatty and full off gristle. Prices are low but quality is even lower I'm not after the Ritz just some edible grub would be nice, waste of money and waste of time.

Sat outside this morning just before 8am and still not open at 20 past. Update opening times or open on time would be a good improvement.

The beef was amazing, melt in your mouth and the staff were friendly and very attentive. The sticky toffee pudding was awful and almost asked for a refund but the staff was so pleasant I didn’t have the heart to complain.
