Que to get to the front desk took nearly 30 minutes alone! Waiter was dead slow, took us 2.5hours to have a 1 course carvery with drinks. Had to chase for the bill, took an age to take a drink order. Cauliflower cheese was rock hard, not cheesy and pretty cold. Rest of the food was just ok, for a company supposedly home of the Sunday roast, it was a very disappointing experience. Toilets were filthy, need leaks fixing and need to be tidied up.

Visit was amazing. Food on point as always. Big thank you to steph for everything! X

In the past I have enjoyed attending the Carvery for lunch and breakfast, this is my first time for evening meal. The environment I did not enjoy as much as during the day. The staff were even so, welcoming and relaxed they served us well.

Thank you to Kaitlyn who was really lovely and helpful! Food and drinks arrived really quickly, Will be back!

I would like to say how helpful Victoria was when we visited recently! I am a wheelchair user and nothing was too much trouble for her to help make sure I was able to access my table and get to the carvery as easily as possible. It was also obvious that she was just as friendly and attentive to the rest of her customers. Thank you very much Victoria 💐

Came in for a roast, the food was decent not as much meat as I’d of hoped for for the cost but it’s was tasty and Steph was very nice and good so overall not a bad spot.

Visited today for lunch with my Mum. Our server Macey was wonderful. Friendly and helpful. Lunch was great. We both had a Yorkie wrap and they were delicious!

Food was hot and fresh. ‘Served’ by Macey. Took so long to take drink order that the hostess at the front of restaurant took it instead then still took 10 minutes to get our glasses. Swearing at the waitress stand behind us half the time of the meal and then had the nerve when bringing the bill to tell us about the competition for the staff of whoever gets the most 5* reviews gets a voucher. We will be back because the food itself was lovely, it’s a shame the waitress was more interested in telling her customers about the review competition than actually doing the work to warrant a good review.

Although the quality of the food was good, the macaroni cheese was a bit dried up, and the meat and veg were cold. Very disappointed as usually a very nice place to eat.

Good food at a reasonable price

Not the best, veg was half cooked, roast potatoes were hard in the middle. Meat was very fatty. Stuffing was good tho. One thing that I thought was wrong was the young lad serving using his bare hands stuffing a yourkshire pudding into his mouth, in full view of customers. Makes me wonder what they do out of sight.

We were served by a lovely lady called Macey, had a welcoming attitude and an amazing patience. HIGHLY recommend this toby carvery.

Made a booking for 4pm, arrived and had a 10 minute wait to get into the building because of a queue of people. What is the actual point in having to book when you then have to queue to get your table? Then to top it off, queue for food that was 30 minutes long. Nope. Left without even sitting on the seats we was given. Will not be going back again, absolutely horrific experience.

Rubbish in car park. Walked in 2 people stood by front desk young girl smiled and woman pink hair didnt even look up from the computer. Not one word was said from either of them. Entered my car reg then had to ask to be sat as woman still hadn't looked up. Just felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. She eventually looked up and sighed like we were an inconvenience. Food was meh, bland, just tasted like water. Cauliflower was like mash. There was glass on the floor by the carvery. Woman with the pink hair, sorry but I'm not sure why you're in this industry. No basic people skills at all

Also Stevie who carves the meat made my husbands visit as asked if he could have some of the fat from the beef which he did so a nice peaceful afternoon thank you

Been to this Toby Carvery twice and had the same experience both times. Very poor. 2 main reasons they are the worst of this chain I have ever visited. Firstly, they clearly run on a skeleton staff to save pennies, but lose pounds as a result. They have 1 (very slow) person serving the meat. This led to a 40 minute queue on the last visit. A week day. Wasn’t even a Sunday. Meaning tables were occupied for longer and them having to turn people away. 40 minutes queuing is unacceptable. Secondly, because of the wait the food goes stale. They also seem to offer less than their usual offering. Take my advice, go to a different Toby or somewhere local offering a good roast. One redeeming factor was the waiting staff were nice.

Went for a roast dinner I chose Turkey and ham the slices were so thin and small really about the size you expect for a small child , quality of veg and roast potatoes was poor . I will not be going back to a Toby in hurry !!

The table we were seated on was in cold area of the restaurant. The meat potions were 3 very thin cut pieces of turkey and thicker cut slice of gammon. The parsnips were cold as was the cabbage and not very edible. The roast potatoes were hit and miss, some delicious and others not good. Place could benefit from a refurbishment. Staff were friendly.

The Food, Drink, Dessert were lovely. Service was excellent. Definitely come back in the future 🍽️🥤💯🍦👍🏻

Our waitress was lovely and the overall service was great. The only let down was some of the veg was undercooked. Meat and Yorkshire pudding were ace. Overall great value for money for a Sunday carvery.

The food was great but it was the entertainment that made it for me - AKA watching a man child protest in near tears because he had to wait for more bacon to come out! The staff showed a lot of patience even in the face of being called a 'muppet' by the immature bacon lover!

I was disgusted last night at Our Service and treatment by the Manager and staff who overcharged us on our childs meal when we had a voucher at £1 then used the old well we rung it in now and the computer won't change it. Im so Angry. I won't be back

Good food. Was busy when we arrived and only one serving so had to wait a while to pay. The breakfast items was cooked lovely and of good variety.

I absolutely LOVE tobys! Been going there since i was little! Practically grew up in this building. Although i can admit, like most things, tobys quality has gone down throughout the years and isnt as good as it once was. Its still absolutely impeccable and a lovley day out. the pricing is sensible and the food is utterly IMACULATE, I dont know who the chef is but i owe that man OR WOMAN my life!!! Or my first born child He/She COOKS in that kitchen and should get a FAT raise NOW :) Our server Macey was an absolute treat and gorgeous too! Cant wait to come back next week 🎉 and the week after that and the week after that

Disaster!!! Me and my partner came here to meet during his lunch break. As soon as I was shown my table, before I even sat down I had asked to order right now as “we’re on a time crunch” ( I ordered before my partner came to execute the most time together) he said it was fine and placed my order and sat down. My partner came shortly after and we waited for his order as it wasn’t a carvery. Almost an hour goes by. I grab the waiter and mention we’ve been sat a while and we haven’t received the food. He ran off and apologised and said it was put through but no one was told to do it. He said it would be 5-6 minutes I said that was fine even though my partner had to go in 10. Around 15 minutes later I flag him down again and asked to remove his order from the bill and we still haven’t received it yet. He took off the order and said did we still want it if it was to come out now. I refused as we’ve been sat here an hour and my partner had used his full lunch break and has to go back. He took it off but he did not compensate the inconvenience and loss. Granted he apologised but apologises not feed. On top of that, the potato’s were anaemic, rock hard and lukewarm. Mac and cheese was hard and chewy. They hadn’t replaced the stuff that was used very well and when the waitress came round with the drinks she said quite bluntly “what did you order!?” No hello it crack or a smile and walked off. Therefore we suffered a loss of precious lunch break time as people in hospitality would understand how precious lunch breaks are. They fell below the standard of a restaurant by not expediting food orders especially when they’ve been enquired about after a long wait and now my partner has to go back to work with no lunch and will only be able to eat when he gets home after his long shift as this place failed to execute a simple basic duty of a restaurant. I feel compensation of some sort would’ve been appropriate as we suffered loss to their negligence. Even if they were to have removed the drinks this would’ve been acceptable but we did not receive this and felt the whole experience was poor and unfair

Place was packed. Half term. The meal was very average. Didn’t expect much more really. It is what it is. Meat was tender. Nice spuds. Good selection of veg. Worth the money. Where it falls down is the 25 minute queue. One poor nipper serving all on his own is ridiculous. Hence the delay and so unnecessary. We had a good 20 people in front and tons coming behind. That needs a shake up. As does the decor. It’s tired and is ready for a refit.

Macey was brilliant, lovely, polite and helpful. We were seen quickly. We ordered veggie options. Kitchen were very slow in doing our orders that it took about 20 mins. Not usually that long. I asked Macey and she went and sorted it out for us. Then checked to see if we got everything OK. The bill was very reasonable and the price of the food is what makes me come back here. We used to go to harvester loads. But very bad there now. Food at toby is so good and value for money. The outside lighting does need sorting. I couldn't see the steps outside and couldn't see in the carpark. That felt a little dangerous.
