Good stop for lunch with MIL. Excellent fish pie and ice cream Came back for Sunday Lunch. Being Veggie I usually lose out However this was the best Nut Roast I have had in a pub😎 Meg looked after us really well and was excellent. Will be back on Thursday for another lunch.

Have been waiting an hour for food. How much longer?

Went to enjoy the sunshine in the beer garden whilst the kids enjoyed themselves in the play area. Great atmosphere and great service.

Meg was a fantastic server, very attentive.

Booked a table for 5pm for 9 ppl, but were completely ignored when we entered the pub. When we finally got a staff member to converse with us, they said to wait for the table to be ready. We waited and ordered some drinks, but received very poor service up to this point. We got our drinks, sat down then discovered from another customer that the kitchen was closed (5pm on a Saturday!). We sought out a manager, who confirmed the kitchen was closed (due to chefs leaving for personal reason). We understand that unforseeable issues can occur, but it was clear there were no contingencies in place to deal with the issue. If they cannot provide food: Why not contact us to cancel the booking? Why allow us to enter and wait? Why take our drink order? The drink order was refunded, but so much time wasted and the staff were unsympathetic. Simply shocking. We won’t be back.

Had a really lovely time here tonight. We both ordered beef roasts which were scrumptious and came with a selection of really nice fresh veg. The waitress who served us was also very polite and friendly, and super apologetic that some items were out of stocked. The garden looks lovely and sunny, so we’ll have to sit outside next time. See you again soon!

We really enjoyed Mother’s Day dinner. Everyone was friendly and happy to help. We all had roast’s so not sure on the rest but the roast was nice. Meg was attentive and smiley, overall we had a lovely time. And the kids play area and outside seating is fantastic.

The most appalling service. An hour and a half until lunchtime meal was served.much of the menu was not available. Didn't bother ordering another drink or dessert...just 2 guys trying to do it all with probably 30 guests. Shocking. GET SOME STAFF. Waste of a lovely venue. Never again until service improves vastly.

Went to the plough Thursday evening for food , greeted by Emily and shown to our table , Emily took our drink orders and gave us menus . Her service was brilliant & friendly ordered food which was all very nice & hot . We asked Emily who was cooking and it was Josh , we asked her to thank him . Excellent 👌

Very busy, not enough staff, huge wait between courses, chicken not cooked sent back, came back still not cooked, beef chewy and loads of sinewy, roast potatoes overcooked, other veg too Al dented, Yorkshire pudding like over sized pancakes, cheese in garlic mushrooms plant based, why? Very poor came for our 23rd wedding anniversary, very disappointed, manager needs a larger shirt and do we really need to see his pants. I don't think so. So sad has always been amazing

This was my first visit to The Plough and I'm hoping it won't be my last. We'd pre-booked a table for early evening and were promptly guided to our table on arrival. The place is huge so I was initially worried about how long we'd probably have to wait. But no worries, every member of staff was extremely helpful, cheerful and nothing too much trouble. They'd obviously had a very busy Sunday lunch service during the afternoon as they'd run out of a couple of the extra side dishes. This was explained before we ordered but wasn't an issue for us as our party of four already knew what we wanted to order. Drinks were ordered and arrived promptly, our four roast beef courses also ordered. Speed of service was very efficient but at no time were we rushed. The star of the show was the food. Roast beef, a huge Yorkshire pudding, creamed leeks and peas, red cabbage, carrots, parsnips, perfect roast potatoes and a delicious dark meaty gravy. The beef was perfectly cooked and fell apart in your mouth. Portion sizes were very generous. I was further shocked to find that the meal cost just £10 each! The standard of service was excellent as was the food itself. Apparently they had been non stop since they opened but you'd never have known. The staff were as professional and as courteous as if they had just opened. This was by far one of the best pub Sunday lunches I've had.

Had a lovely evening with family celebrating my daughters 21st. Food was amazing and considering there were 9 of us, food was served at the same time, piping hot. Steak cooked to perfection, all the food was delicious. All the servers were lovely, nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely be back. Thank you guys.

I’m sorry to say but this is the last time I’ll be going here after 3 disappointing meals. Service was good to begin with however I ordered the flat iron steak which was like cutting up rubber - so tough and would not recommend unless you have knives for teeth. In fact, wouldn’t even have given that to my dog. What made life more difficult was the fact I wasn’t given a steak knife and had to go on a wild goose chase for one around the pub. There was a constant barking from dogs in the pub which made it far from relaxing and after having already had two bad meals here before, I regret giving it another chance. Serious work needs to be done.

Brought the family for a feed, nice place sat by log burner. Kids ate well and played in the outside play area. Although mixed grill wasn’t on the menu the kind chap sorted me one out. Everything cooked to perfection. Will recommend and come again.

Yes this is a very well run restaraunt / pub. Certainly suggest its a place to try if you are near bye Old fashioned menu but always good

Meg and emily were great, really looked after us and were very polite and very attentive and was nice company. Food was good however unfortunately the kitchen was closed before times advertised meaning we could not order desert.

Met up with a friend & her partner for a long overdue catch up. First time for the 3 of as to visit this place and we liked it throughout are stay here for a Sunday lunch and dessert. A massive beer garden and car park so can't go wrong there. Staff was nice enough busy while we was there as it was the last bank holiday weekend in May.

The Plough hosted us for a wake with a buffet and complimentary tea and coffee for around 35 people. The food was excellent and Mark the manager was very accommodating with us when making arrangements for the afternoon. Would definitely recommend for any large group bookings. The buffet menu choices were really good and pricing was reasonable

First time visitor to The Plough, driven past lots but never had the chance to go it. First great thing, huge carpark! We weren't sure if we would get a space due to how busy it was in here but loads of spaces around the back! First thing walking in, the atmosphere. It was busy! But good busy, not, it's going to take 45 mins to get a drink kinda busy! It was very lively and bright! We had booked a table, so were seated very quick. The food came in big portions and were well received by all our party. Drinks were good we had a mix of alcohol and soft drinks, prosecco in a small bottle is quite expensive but I think that's the same everywhere! Will be coming back as it was such a good vibe, maybe in the summer as they have a huge seated outdoor area! Great spot for meeting family and friends.

Had Christmas dinner there, cost £85 per person, definitely not worth it, food medium quality, even Yorkshire puddings weren’t fresh. Will look for another place next year.

Decepcionado el día de Navidad. Estábamos reservados para la cena del día de Navidad a la 1 pm. La comida era preciosa por desgracia el servicio lo decepcionó. No nos ofrecieron otra bebida, tuvimos que marcar a una camarera después de haber estado sentados con vasos vacíos durante unos 30 minutos. Lamentablemente nos dejaron 45 minutos después de terminar nuestra red para que nuestros platos fueran despejados. Los desiertos finalmente fueron servidos y nos dijeron que solo tenían cucharaditas disponibles. Realmente decepcionante ya que el servicio fue el polo opuesto el año pasado

Booked Christmas Day lunch all started well but after main course we were left unattended for nearly 45 mins without drinks or any clue when are desserts would be served When the plates were eventually cleared we were told that they didn’t have any dessert spoons and had to eat these with tea spoons Took the gloss off what should have been a great time All in all disappointing

We popped in for an impromptu lunch (without a booking) on what was probably one of the busiest days of the year, yet was offered a table without any hesitation. Meg was quick to take our drinks order and fulfil our meal orders when we were ready. Food was the standard pub grub expected from a chain - nothing special, but a known standard that suited our requirements. Food was piping hot which is always good. The sticky toffee pudding is a favourite.

Food was excellent, the maple covered corn was so tasty. Such friendly service too. Worth a visit.
