Booked a table for a birthday meal. No burgers available. No fish available. Nothing. That's the last time we come here.

Great food (beef was abit tough but didn’t matter), lovely atmosphere, service was excellent. Thank you Emily for serving us

Meg was lovely nothing was too much bother she was attentive but not overbearing. Food was perfectly cooked and delicious.

It was our first visit to the plough and I have to say it's really nice inside and the staff are very friendly especially Meg. The food was well cooked and we will be back to sample the Sunday roast!

This was my first visit to The Plough and I'm hoping it won't be my last. We'd pre-booked a table for early evening and were promptly guided to our table on arrival. The place is huge so I was initially worried about how long we'd probably have to wait. But no worries, every member of staff was extremely helpful, cheerful and nothing too much trouble. They'd obviously had a very busy Sunday lunch service during the afternoon as they'd run out of a couple of the extra side dishes. This was explained before we ordered but wasn't an issue for us as our party of four already knew what we wanted to order. Drinks were ordered and arrived promptly, our four roast beef courses also ordered. Speed of service was very efficient but at no time were we rushed. The star of the show was the food. Roast beef, a huge Yorkshire pudding, creamed leeks and peas, red cabbage, carrots, parsnips, perfect roast potatoes and a delicious dark meaty gravy. The beef was perfectly cooked and fell apart in your mouth. Portion sizes were very generous. I was further shocked to find that the meal cost just £10 each! The standard of service was excellent as was the food itself. Apparently they had been non stop since they opened but you'd never have known. The staff were as professional and as courteous as if they had just opened. This was by far one of the best pub Sunday lunches I've had.

Had a lovely evening with family celebrating my daughters 21st. Food was amazing and considering there were 9 of us, food was served at the same time, piping hot. Steak cooked to perfection, all the food was delicious. All the servers were lovely, nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely be back. Thank you guys.

I’m sorry to say but this is the last time I’ll be going here after 3 disappointing meals. Service was good to begin with however I ordered the flat iron steak which was like cutting up rubber - so tough and would not recommend unless you have knives for teeth. In fact, wouldn’t even have given that to my dog. What made life more difficult was the fact I wasn’t given a steak knife and had to go on a wild goose chase for one around the pub. There was a constant barking from dogs in the pub which made it far from relaxing and after having already had two bad meals here before, I regret giving it another chance. Serious work needs to be done.

Brought the family for a feed, nice place sat by log burner. Kids ate well and played in the outside play area. Although mixed grill wasn’t on the menu the kind chap sorted me one out. Everything cooked to perfection. Will recommend and come again.

Yes this is a very well run restaraunt / pub. Certainly suggest its a place to try if you are near bye Old fashioned menu but always good

Met up with a friend & her partner for a long overdue catch up. First time for the 3 of as to visit this place and we liked it throughout are stay here for a Sunday lunch and dessert. A massive beer garden and car park so can't go wrong there. Staff was nice enough busy while we was there as it was the last bank holiday weekend in May.

The Plough hosted us for a wake with a buffet and complimentary tea and coffee for around 35 people. The food was excellent and Mark the manager was very accommodating with us when making arrangements for the afternoon. Would definitely recommend for any large group bookings. The buffet menu choices were really good and pricing was reasonable

We stopped for lunch whilst on a long walk. The food was of a good standard and Meg was very friendly. We had a really nice time.

First time visitor to The Plough, driven past lots but never had the chance to go it. First great thing, huge carpark! We weren't sure if we would get a space due to how busy it was in here but loads of spaces around the back! First thing walking in, the atmosphere. It was busy! But good busy, not, it's going to take 45 mins to get a drink kinda busy! It was very lively and bright! We had booked a table, so were seated very quick. The food came in big portions and were well received by all our party. Drinks were good we had a mix of alcohol and soft drinks, prosecco in a small bottle is quite expensive but I think that's the same everywhere! Will be coming back as it was such a good vibe, maybe in the summer as they have a huge seated outdoor area! Great spot for meeting family and friends.

Lovely lunch with friends. Quick table service and friendly staff. Our server, April, was helpful and attentive. Food was great and the Helles lager is the best in town.

Had Christmas dinner there, cost £85 per person, definitely not worth it, food medium quality, even Yorkshire puddings weren’t fresh. Will look for another place next year.

Booked Christmas Day lunch all started well but after main course we were left unattended for nearly 45 mins without drinks or any clue when are desserts would be served When the plates were eventually cleared we were told that they didn’t have any dessert spoons and had to eat these with tea spoons Took the gloss off what should have been a great time All in all disappointing

Decepcionado el día de Navidad. Estábamos reservados para la cena del día de Navidad a la 1 pm. La comida era preciosa por desgracia el servicio lo decepcionó. No nos ofrecieron otra bebida, tuvimos que marcar a una camarera después de haber estado sentados con vasos vacíos durante unos 30 minutos. Lamentablemente nos dejaron 45 minutos después de terminar nuestra red para que nuestros platos fueran despejados. Los desiertos finalmente fueron servidos y nos dijeron que solo tenían cucharaditas disponibles. Realmente decepcionante ya que el servicio fue el polo opuesto el año pasado

We came to The Plough for a Christmas Eve dinner, we were served by Meg who was lovely, welcoming and friendly. The food was great, the service was so warm, and we left happy, satisfied and filled with the Christmas spirit. Highly recommend.

We popped in for an impromptu lunch (without a booking) on what was probably one of the busiest days of the year, yet was offered a table without any hesitation. Meg was quick to take our drinks order and fulfil our meal orders when we were ready. Food was the standard pub grub expected from a chain - nothing special, but a known standard that suited our requirements. Food was piping hot which is always good. The sticky toffee pudding is a favourite.

Food was excellent, the maple covered corn was so tasty. Such friendly service too. Worth a visit.

We booked a table in advance and enjoyed our meal. We had the chilli and the steak pie. Both were good. If I was being picky, the pie could have done with some different veg on the side, as you would get with a roast. Still very tasty though. Not the cheapest, but still worth it with the extra quality. The service was faultless, so a big improvement from our last visit.

Small portions for the price, especially the stake. The waitress stretched the length of the table to clear it, squeezed between my chair and the the partition rather than walk round. Overall a great place to eat if expensive.

Always a good place for a Sunday roast

Good service especially checking and giving information of allergies and intolerance. Waiting staff very open to discussing the options. Parking good. Beer fine. Nieve served us well However I find it strange that while all the table sauces and salt are in see through glass condiments the pepper is not. Pepper mill is wooden and mostly empty. When suggested the use of refillable glass pepper mills might be better than wooden I was give the message that it was " company policy" to use them . This is a policy which should be reconsidered as see through pepper mills could be quickly replaced when low or empty

Very poor Sunday dinner. The beef was like tough leather, vegetables barely recognisable and cauliflower cheese extras were a complete rip off at £9 for 4 people. The service was non-existent. Sad to say it was a real disappointment.

Wonderful location, fantastic food. Well priced. Not too noise but a great atmosphere. Well might with out being too bright. Im autistic, and it was not too over whelming for me. So i recommend :)

Food was nice. Most staff friendly. Slight issue with 1 dish but after I found a staff member to raise the issue they apologised and rectified the problem. Encountered some strange issues like no wine list. No large bottles of prosecco available only small individual bottles. Providing table service but not being able to take payment at the table so we all had to up to bar and pay at the end of the meal.

Food was OK, not great. Fish and half a dozen chips and a spoonful of dried peas. The pie looked nicer and the desserts were generous.
