Great food the play area could do with a little more securing as the is a gap in fence that leads into the main road

Fantastic evening, 15 people, all served with Fantastic food. Maybe a few more vegan or vegetarian options would be good, especially due to a lot of people opting for a non meat, dairy diet..the new owner is a passionate, positive and friendly person...nothing was too much of a problem...we will be going back soon..xx

Myself and my new Husband have visited the Plough a number of times now and have never had a bad experience. So much so we decided to have our wedding reception there and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! Mark and the team did absolutely everything to make our day perfect and the food and service was impeccable. Every one of our guests commented on how good everything was and the atmosphere was just lovely! This is the same every time we visit and it is now our usual great pub to visit for a lovely meal. We cannot recommend it enough!

Good food at a good price , excellent service too.

I came all the way from London, to see my family and was told your restaurant did the most amazing Sunday roast. I pre booked the table and upon arrival we were shown to our table. We ordered drinks and shared starter, that was fine and for our mains we all ordered the Roast Beef with sides of pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese. Unfortunately the meal was inedible. The beef was grisly making it impossible to cut even with a steak knife. The entire meal was coated in oil with the Yorkshire pudding dripping with it and the cauliflower cheese was burnt. The young lady who served us was lovely but the chefs really need to check the food before leaving the kitchen.

We arrived at a very busy time but the wait was uncomfortably long and there was a lot of " run out of.... " But the service was very pleasant and helpful and the food, when it did arrive was perfectly cooked and very nice indeed. Very reasonable prices! Can't really fault them too much for being very busy when the end product was so nice.

A very nice pub, but the food is extremely poor. Ive been here 3 times now a fee months apart, lovely to go for a drink. But the two times I ordered food it was shocking, my microwave could have done a better job armed with some lidl frozen food.

2 of our main meals had to be sent back. The banana on the banoffee waffles was pretty much rotten and one was completely wrong. Waited an hour for a main meal and 40 mins for desert and still charged 125 for the meal. Fair to say I will not be going back there ever again. Oh also I had a portion of triple cooked chips that were single cooked at a push and only had 11 on the plate. Waste of money! Advise not to go there to eat at all. Also in repose to your automated response which my partner has also received I wouldn’t exactly call that day busy maybe average for a dinner time but certainly not busy!!!

Food service very good. Dog friendly. Very nice beer garden.

Wow! First went to the Plough when I was 5 (50 years ago). Gone is the bottle of pop and a bag of crisps in the garden (unless that’s what you want). Replaced with great food and great service. Well done to the Manager Mark, Luke and the rest of the team. My wife loved the new potato twist on a fish pie and the rest of us enjoyed the traditional Sunday roasts. Glad to meet a team that actually like people and what they do! Felt it would be a bit over the top walking into the kitchen and shaking the chef’s hand which they deserved.

Nice atmosphere, plenty of outdoor space, friendly attentive staff. Food was a bit hit and miss some loved it.

Run out of roast dinners pretty poor considering it's on there menu our party of 10 were really upset about it , they gave us a bottle of presseco as a sorry gesture but the other options were great

Staff Welcoming & friendly with a smile on their faces. Menu lacks on main meals. Had Chicken Schnitzel with salad & new potatoes. Was not impressed by the dry look on the plate when it arrived. Plenty of it, didn't wet the appetite, taste was good but that was it. Price was too high. Used to enjoy the experience. Will not be returning for some time.

Miserable unhelpful staff, despite booking an outdoor table online, on arrival got told these weren’t bookable! Bar maid obviously eating when serving customers……ignored at the bar whilst she ate!!! Dirty tables, pub was empty by 2100!!!

Really disappointed on this visit. There was no table service. We were just told to order everything at the bar. Lack of service at the bar only a part of the bar open. Very few staff for a lunch time. Had run out of the wine we normally order. Zinfandel is not a rare wine. Ordered Fish & Chips not a difficult dish. Fish overcooked not many chips. Food left on the floor from previous diners not cleaned up. Not what we've been used too here. Shame.

We went as a party of 9. Lovely food and outstanding service. We had 3 children that wanted adjustments to their dishes, and honestly, nothing was too much trouble.

Wouldn’t bother going here again. This is our third time visiting in and whilst food has always been ok (average at best), the general atmosphere of the place is enough to put anyone off. In 2/3 of the occasions we visited our party was greeted by an extremely ignorant, hard faced and quite frankly - miserable - waitress. She made little to no conversation with us and this came off standoffish and rude, very off putting. She also gave us a disapproving look when we said we hadn’t booked but given the restaurant was practically empty I don’t see what the issue was here. We had to order drinks at the bar despite having table service in the restaurant and each time she visited our table she was just miserable. The food, as mentioned, was fine but nothing special. Drinks were ok, again, nothing special. There was quite a few workmen type groups drinking quite heavily so not appropriate for families with young kids like ours especially when it became a bit rowdy later on in the evening. This is a real shame for the venue given that other H&W chains we have been to have been great but this one has repeatedly disappointed us and we won’t be going back. I don’t like to “out” individual staff members however this was clearly the predominant downfall of our visit and perhaps it was a bad day but it really dampened our time.

Enjoyed the food, quick and attentive service, nice place - quiet on a Monday lunchtime but not so quiet it's weird!

Me and my parents visited the Plough as we were driving past and it looked like a nice spot for lunch. We were met with amazing service from the moment we stepped in to when we left. The staff were so friendly and answered any questions we had. In particular, we were served by the lovely Ellie who was very attentive to us. The food was delicious and there was plenty of options for vegetarians

The food here is of a very high standard, tasty and fresh, and a nice mid level pub experience. Lovely inside and a very large patio and garden with a play area for the kids. The pub is situated next to a paddock with horses, which adds to the country feel and ambience. The service was a little off. The starter, for some reason, was out at the same time as the main. It seemed to take a long time to get our drinks order to appear, and they waiting staff seemed disinterested in clearing our plates. I am giving this place 5 stars as the food was very nice and we shall return, that doesn't mean improvements can not be made, but I would recommend this pub.

I know they're offering 1/3 off on food on Mondays but I didn't expect the cost to them to be offset by not heating the plates the meal is served on.

Charged £12.50 for a hot dog with half a bun! Unapologetically shameless.

Came for dinner tonight with a friend and we were so excited about the menu. Unfortunately was let down slightly by my food being stone cold and being served our coffee with lipstick on the cup. It was replaced in a timely manner and was lovely once we had it. However, the lovely waitress Neive was phenomenal. Super friendly, really sweet and had great banter with us. She was really attentive, looked after us well and made sure she did all she could for us. Service 100% made up for the food being cold. If we didn't have Neive I can honestly say that we wouldn't of enjoyed our evening. Such a down to earth person, thanks so much for looking after us.

Met up with a friend & her partner for a long overdue catch up. First time for the 3 of as to visit this place and we liked it throughout are stay here for a Sunday lunch and dessert. A massive beer garden and car park so can't go wrong there. Staff was nice enough busy while we was there as it was the last bank holiday weekend in May.

Quality service,super staff and food.Family friendly atmosphere. There were 5 adults and our ten year old..Our table service by Becci was excellent. I look forward to coming again with my family.

Staff very nice. One waitress bless her a bit overbearing with help. Can't recommend the flat iron steak, tuff. Cold cabbage with fish pie which I can make myself 100% better. Management strive to please but unfortunately it's the chef that needs to cook or change the produce better. Sad as was recommended and met with friends after 13years. Outside seating area very pleasant.

It's ok... food is ok, to be honest it's pricey for the quality. Drinks are not cheap either. Huge space, tonnes of empty tables but the staff insisted on seating us right next to another group which was awkward because you felt like you were listening to each other. Sorry to say nothing to write home about.

Fish and chips fine,End of service Roast which is 3pm on was a selection of overcooked potatoes,Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese,which was an extra side.Service really good but not a £20 roast dinner.

Waitress behind the bar with glasses on was extremely rude . Asked me what I wanted then immediately huffed and flapped her hands at me rushing me to choose when she literally just asked me . The macaroni cheese dish I can only describe as a toddler size portion . The fact it’s £12.95 a plate is disgusting there was more salad than actual proper food . Dishes had already run out (beef Canaloni) and the chilli con carne had more beans in it than actual meat ! And to top it all off the cheesy garlic bread we ordered didn’t come out . Waiting patiently for a few minutes thinking it will come out shortly but never did . In the end I had to ask for it and the waitress attitude sucked as she treated me like I was lying for a freebie as she checked on the system . When it finally did come I extremely they may have run out of cheese as there was next to none on there and clearly had been sat under the heat lamp for far too long . Wouldn’t go back in a hurry . Staff looked fed up and tired of hearing people moan 3 other tables of customers complained where we were sat . There was one waitress who was clearly quite new and seemed a little overwhelmed but she tried her best and lovely

Nice place to grab a pub lunch or later dinner. I find the food can be hit and miss. I've had some lovely food but other times not so great. I would avoid the steak. Service can be slow but the last time I went the waitress was excellent- best service in a long time.

This would be a 1* review....But....On Sunday the roast dinner is fantastic. So much so, I've previously visited 3 or 4 times in the past 6 months. Never booked before, it's a pub. Spur of the moment decision. Did the same thing again today...to be told... "we don't do walk ins". Half a dozen spare tables and not overly busy ? Shame, probs' won't go back again. Must be a new policy.

This was my first visit to The Plough and I'm hoping it won't be my last. We'd pre-booked a table for early evening and were promptly guided to our table on arrival. The place is huge so I was initially worried about how long we'd probably have to wait. But no worries, every member of staff was extremely helpful, cheerful and nothing too much trouble. They'd obviously had a very busy Sunday lunch service during the afternoon as they'd run out of a couple of the extra side dishes. This was explained before we ordered but wasn't an issue for us as our party of four already knew what we wanted to order. Drinks were ordered and arrived promptly, our four roast beef courses also ordered. Speed of service was very efficient but at no time were we rushed. The star of the show was the food. Roast beef, a huge Yorkshire pudding, creamed leeks and peas, red cabbage, carrots, parsnips, perfect roast potatoes and a delicious dark meaty gravy. The beef was perfectly cooked and fell apart in your mouth. Portion sizes were very generous. I was further shocked to find that the meal cost just £10 each! The standard of service was excellent as was the food itself. Apparently they had been non stop since they opened but you'd never have known. The staff were as professional and as courteous as if they had just opened. This was by far one of the best pub Sunday lunches I've had.

Since reopening after lockdown The Plough have done a fantastic job making sure all guests are safe. Food has been amazing and service 100%. Always have such a lovely time when we've been here

Went for a family meal today. Great service. We ordered the steak pie, fish and chips and a double cheeseburger for mains, all spot on. Too full up for desert unfortunately. Will definitely go back. Excellent deals on certain days. Well worth a visit. Ample car parking and a lovely terrace.

Service was very slow . And wasn’t that busy. Servers just seemed to be walking up and down replacing knives and forks on tables. We had dinner plates finished on table for a good 45 mins and then had to ask a server could we order kids ice creams , only then were we cleared on table. Kids were offered only blackcurrant sorbet so not the greatest and they hated it. And yet vanilla ice cream was being brought out for adult puddings.

Very warm welcome as soon as we walked in , I dont know who was waiting our table but he was absolutely brilliant with my 3 year old. An absolute credit to the hall and woodhouse team he was outstanding ( dark hair black tshirt white jeans on Saturday 23rd). Food was amazing and didn't have to wait long at all little loved the fish n chips hubby said the tangle foot pie was outstanding.

We were made very welcome by the staff who were very friendly, service was great and the food was good.

To start, Meg was a great waitress for what she had to put up with! Very patient considering. Also Badger beers are fantastic! We both ordered the Beef Cannelloni, looked great, but was freezing cold in the middle, so for £14 I'm assuming it was cooked from frozen. Second attempt tasted great, as did the garlic bread. Had the sticky toffee for dessert, the ball of ice cream was half ice, half ice cream, like it had been defrosted and refrozen... so a total balls up by the kitchen. Then what I thought was a simple ask of splitting the bill to get one side, one main and one dessert on one receipt for a work claim turned out to be an absolute calamity, if the systems that complicated, get a new one! Yes I have worked in hospitality. It should be a simple process! According to my bank I've been charged for 4 x Cannelloni... if the refund doesn't come through I will be returning to sort!

Lovely little pub. . Food was OK and reasonably priced

I was quite disappointed today for the prices. I was expecting better quality food. I got the burger and it was just incredibly dry and too much bread also there was hardly any chips on our plates either. I was just expecting better quality with the reviews, the pub Itself is lovely, and has a nice play area for the children

The whole visit was a disaster. Wrong drinks one meal totally forgotten.

Met a friend and her baby there for a catch up recently and as soon as I walked in I was greeted by a lovely man called Liam who was so friendly and immediately asked me how I was and how could he help. He made the best Latte too! Took me to a table ready to meet my friend. Very quiet time of day. We both had Fish finger sarnies and it was delicious! Liam was very attentive and kind. All in all a wonderful few hours sat inside. Highly recommend! Will be back soon.

Saturday lunch for the brother in laws birthday. The food was very good and the service was immaculate. Thank you for taking the time to look after us.

Visited this beautiful public house on a Saturday night at 2155 only to be told sorry can only sell you one drink as we will be closing shortly, the pub in general warm and welcoming, but whatever happened to closing for 2300hrs. No wonder socialising with others on the decline,Shane as what little time we had there was lovely

Lovely food and great service, Lily and Mark were fantastic!

We had a birthday party of 10 across 4 generations and everyone enjoyed their food. Staff were very attentive and the food was good. The Sunday roast was excellent and popular too. We'll be back in the summer to enjoy the really good children's play area with loads of outside seating.

Another visit today for a Sunday roast, food cooked to perfection, friendly attentive staff. Another 5 star review well earned.

We went to warm up and get some food after doing our horses at the local stables. Unfortunately the pub was really cold and even the staff were walking around with coats on. The hot chocolate was yuk tasted gritty but the food was lovely we had BLT toasties and chatted a sticky toffee pudding which was amazing!

Food was luke warm and it was freezing in there as no radiators on.

Updated Dec 2023: Came here for the Sunday Roast and oh so delicious. The beef was fantastic and I had to order a few of the best Yorkshire puddings I've had in a long time ! Don't miss... If you pass by this place, make a U-turn. You won't regret it. Beautiful outdoor garden with a large tent if you want to stay out of the sun (??!!). Possibly the best sticky wings I've ever had (and I've had a LOT). Onion rings were nice and crispy (though probably under seasoned). Drink selection is fantastic. Excellent COVID measures !

While being told that food was served until 9.30, when ordering at 9 we were told that the kitchen was closed. The actual words were ‘we’ve just switched everything off’. It doesn’t bode well for the quality of the food. The real ale also tasted a bit off. All in all, not the best experience.

Our annual family Christmas get together. A slight issue with one order dealt with with speed, professionalism and respect made me give the service 5 stars. I could not fault it. Food - big portions and most importantly they were delicious

Had a lovely afternoon with all my family today about 30 people including infants and young children great experience amazing food all delivered hot aand at same time well as fast as they could serving such a big group.All clear plates can't speak highly enough for the staff thank you all.highly recommended will be back soon

My 1st visit. Lovely food, great service and friendly staff. Really enjoyed their steak pie, followed by hot chocolate pudding with salted caramel ice cream, which was really lush.

Had a cosy drink in a cosy pub, friendly atmosphere, dog friendly, didn't have food so can't comment. Daughter me and the dog had a nice couple of hours 👍

Had a pit-stop here, en-route to watching Hanwell Town play at Sholing. The sun was out, so we spent a pleasant time in the decent-sized garden.

The food was very fair. I had the bbq chicken. I feel like the flavor was light. The fries were yummy. It cost almost 4 pounds for a diet coke...the food was a fair price. The atmosphere was lovely. The service was on the slow side, but the waitress was nice. It is better to order your drinks at the bar as it is faster. This was all on a Friday night too. They had outdoor seating that looked lovely. The dogs seemed to like it and there are treats for them as well.

I brought my mum in who has Alzheimers and limited mobility and Liam, one of the managers, couldn't have been more helpful! So friendly and welcoming. Even my mum said how good he was. Food was great and Kai behind the bar was friendly and gave great service too. Highly recommended this venue

Nice play area and staff were friendly. Unfortunately the food really lets this place down and is hugely overpriced for what you get. We ordered the Sunday roasts and received three small, dry, potatoes, dry and burnt meat and a tiny vegetable portion. Really regret choosing this pub and will not be going again
