I had the best time in this pub/ restaurant it was great. Very welcoming and they had the most welcoming staff ever it was a pleasure to visit. We were working next door so this was our local for a few weeks and it couldn’t have been better. Food was amazing and staff were brilliant

The staff were welcoming and drinks service was good. There was a huge queue for the carvery and didn’t seem to be enough staff. The food was all over the counter tops and was cold. The restaurant itself is in desperate need of cleaning. The floor had visibly ground in dirt and the tiled floor was sticky. The toilets were disgustingly the doors were covered again in black dirt. Food average but sadly it has gone really downhill.

This place has gone down hill over the years will not be going back the veg was cold the meat had a lot of fat on it beef the Yorkshire puds were flat and the service poor this was about 17.00 when we visited

The welcome, service and food were up to your high standard.and with special thanks to Rhianna our waitress. The opportunity to have a Sunday lunch could not be missed and we were not disappointed. We go regularly, sometimes with our whole family but today just my wife and I.

I booked a table for 14 to celebrate my granddaughter's 25th birthday and we had a brilliant time. Our food was delicious and our server Gracie couldn't do enough for us. All of my grandchildren are picky eaters but they all enjoyed their meals, even my 10 month old great grandson loved his meal. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a celebration or even just going out for a meal because all of the staff are great but our Gracie was the best for us.

We have used this Toby a number of times when in Newcastle and have never been disappointed. Today was no exception a lovely roast dinner at a very reasonable price along with 1 pudding. We were looked after by Gracie who was very attentive and helpful. Without being over the top. Well done Gracie!!

Served by the lovely lady Alana, who was bubbly, friendly and really helpful. Other than getting more fat than meat it was a great visit. Well worth the money.

Me and my friend went for Dinner all I can say is from arriving the service was 100 % Very quickly and professional we got a table. Then the waitress asked what we wanted and ordered our drinks . First visit for a long time and it was terrible.The carver was an unsmiling particularly irritable individual who served us with two slices of meat each whereas we were always given three before.The roast potatoes were stale … they had thickened skins and were dry inside.Been in the heated container since lunch time is my guess.Mashed potato was barely passable … some kind of caterers instant mash.Ate some of the dinner but gave up and sent for the manager.Nice enough guy who cancelled the bill and that’s that.We’ll never go back Thought they’d be trying harder after the lock down …. instead they’ve raised the prices and dropped the quality control.Allow me repeat my verdictTERRIBLE

Short answer ... this is surprisingly good. It’s a big chain , which usually means it could have been a bit generic. It wasn’t prawn cocktail for £2.20 and a 4 meat roast for £9. That’s value and quality.

We were a party of 14 celebrating a Anniversary and birthday on a Sunday evening. We had a great night the food was hot and tasty. The staff were good and friendly, but what made the night was the waiter called Tom he was brilliant and couldn't do enough to help. I would highly recommend this Toby restaurant.

Decided to give it a try as we'd ran out of ideas of where to eat.The food was pretty good...turkey was moist....roast potatoes were delicious....mash was acceptable (though it did have a hint of powdered potato about it, just a hint)The pork however was tough and taste free.Vegetables were underdone for my taste....just can't understand the current vogue for having then half cooked.The desserts were wonderful....toffee pudding with a jug lovely old fashioned custard.The service was very good, all in all a good meal for two at a cost of £18We'll be back.

Been today for Sunday lunch.its a help yourself carvery and was very busy. We arrived at 12.00 and already there were a lot of people there. We were given a buzzer told to take a seat and as soon as table was available they would buzz us.we only waited about ten minutes and were shown to our table.The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was basic canteen style sunday dinner. Nothing to make me feel that I would go again. Gravy was flavourless and watery veg didn't have a lot of flavour either.yourkshire puds were massive but full of air nothing in the middle hence they were flat as pancakes. If you want to pile your plate up and not bothered about flavour this is the place to go.

The food is ok but NO change at all since my last review which is disappointing, BUT I have to be honest I only went back as I had a £5 off voucher so thought might as well give it another try and there is STILL not enough choice on the menu so it gets boring after the first few visits. I live very close to it but prefer to drive further afield to get better choice and to be honest BETTER food. I cant knock the venue itself as its always clean and lovely furnishings and staff have always been friendly and professional, but I wont be in a hurry to go back unless they put SOME choices on the menu because when your with family NOT everyone wants a SUNDAY DINNER !!!!

Ate here last night - not busy - just the 2 us - taken to a table at the back of the restaurant and then promptly ignored. My boyfriend had to go to the bar and get our drinks half way thru the meal. Roasts on offer - beef, turkey, ham? no pork.Got the bill no staff to pay - walked to the bar where we told we could pay - waited (again) paid - then got stopped on the way out asking if we had paid. Buck up your ideas Toby. Will not be hurrying back.

Visited here a lot of times for years. It went through a bad patch a couple of years ago but it's really picked up again. Can't comment on the rest of the menu but the carvery itself is really good. Very fresh and always hot. Feels like it's all high quality meat and veg. You can pay an extra couple of pound to have a larger plate and a few pigs in blankets on your plate if you want. Also they do a buffet breakfast until 10 am which is excellent however I do think the time needs extened on weekends I do however understand they need to start serving the carvery also. All in all very good friendly place with good food and drink. Also very cheap for those on a budget.

Absolutely - without a shadow of a doubt .. THE worst Sunday lunch I've ever experienced . The meat - fatty and tasteless. The veg - overcooked and bland, and as for the gravy - I can't even begin to describe how bad it was. Service at the bar was slooooow and I had to shout over the top of someone to get served after being totally ignored for 10 minutes ! For 10 quid a head - save your money and go to the Three Mile Inn .... Cheaper and much much better ! I won't be returning here - EVER !

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday easy parking with a great choice of seating and friendly attentive staff, the carvery had a choice of 4 meats good quality and they weren't tight with the portions. There was an excellent choice of Veg with the usual gravys and sauces, all in all well worth a visit.

We arrived at 12:20 with a pre-booking for 12:30, 2 members of the group arrived earlier and five followed at 12:20.. Making 7/10 present, we mentioned our booking, only to be told if the rest of the table didn't arrive within 5 mins they would cancel our booking... We asked since 7 of us were here could we take the table but we're abruptly told no. We would have to wait for the other three who couldn't be late!! We decided to have a drink whilst waiting and although there were 4 bar tenders working they only seemed to have one speed which was extremely slow, a large Unsightley bartender in his 20's eventually got around to our drinks.. But paid no attention and seemed like he couldnt care less about the amassing que I paid £5.50 for a flat and what tasted like pint of strongbow and a glass of when I asked for coke, Pepsi was delivered with no mention of the difference( the mrs is a stickler for coke and would have chose something else if advised) and no mention of refills until I heard another member of staff mention it to another customer. The rest of our party arrived with moments to spare and we were showed to our table which was made up of several small tables which had been forced up against the booth bench against the wall... Once we rearranged the furniture and squeezed into our seats the waitress immediately pounced on us for starters, I stated we had just sat down and would like like 5 mins. So she approached the far side of our table only to be told the same, at that that point she announced she felt we had upset her to the point of tears!!! Following the poor waiter service we decided upon not using the table service and helping ourselves to carvery. I joint a large but quickly moving que to a mountain of of veg choices and a selection of meats... It looked amazing! I decided upon beef and pork and wasn't disappointed when given a full plate full of slices of pink beef and pork to sit my veg upon. Massive Yorkshire puds and a bowl full of pork crackling looked inviting so I opted for both, with a pile of veg! I return to my table and decided to go for another pint before starting since the waitress couldn't be seen. Again I waited 15 mins for a grumpy barman to serve me watered down cider.. I returned to my cooling food to find that although looking sumptuous all the veg was bland and the beef tasted the same as the pork!!! The crackling and yorkes I had been patiently waiting for tasted of dirty ovens and burnt oil... Half way through the waitress reappeared and began removing plates... Whilst half the party were still eating!!! The kids were looking forward to a pudding from the extended menu, but said waitress never appears again so we left disgruntled with children begging for ice cream.... Never again will I visit a Toby carvery... I am a trained chef many years time served and I find Kingston Park Toby lacking in every single department... Not good enough....

Have been here loads over the years with family and my partner.Have always had lovely service, shout out to the twins.....The food has always been a very high standard, would go every week if i could.Traditional English Dinner. Hearty Healthy and Satisfying. Delicious dessertssssss.....Great value for money!!

We visited today 13/09/2015 and both had the standard carvery, turkey and Gammon were both tender and juicy, Fabulous Yorkshire puddings, roast and mash potato, cauliflower, carrots, peas, Broccoli, green beans so plenty of choice of vegetables. I have rhubarb crumble sundae which was delicious and my friend had the honeycomb sundae and said it was gorgeous.

We have used this establishment several time both for breakfast and evening meals as well as lunches.The food is always fantastic and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

We were staying at the Novotel just behind here so we used this Toby carvery both mornings for breakfast and had dinner here on the Saturday night. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was really good and a round off drinks was fairly priced would definitely recommend if anyone is in the area.

We visited here for a forth time taking our daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren.Having been given fab seats near the window with plenty space for the high chair too.Taking it in turns to get our food, obviously the children first.As per usual, the food is plentiful and a fab choice of fresh carved meats, I chose beef and pork as always. With huge Yorkshire pud and more veg than I could balance on my plate lol. Freshly made gravy, mint sauce mmm I can taste it again as I type lol. Was delicious and yes....I ate it all...so filling and just a great Sunday lunchEveryone ate theirs, the children tucked in and ate most of theirs too, so much so desiring an ice cream after, the adults didn't as we were too full. For the 6 of us with drinks and desserts and we still got change from £50 was well impressed

You kind of know what you'll get with a Toby carvery. Have visited this one a couple of times. It benefits from a high turn over of punters meaning the meat and veg tend to be fresh. Desserts are passable, though quite expensive and clearly bought in and warmed through. Service, particularly at the bar can be poor, and was very understaffed the other Sunday.

If you want decent sized portions of reasonably cooked food at a good price then this is the place to go. It's never busy , not even on a Saturday night. The watresses are really friendly and will go out of teir way to answer any food related query. What could be improved is the manners of the staff serving the carvery. To say they wre a bit brusque is being polite. I and my husband (and the man infront of me in our very short queue) had the question "what you're having? practically snarled at us as if we were putting the man serving out by actually requeting food. On the up side leave room for dessert because they are lovely.

Good honest Sunday Lunch! We have often eaten here and have found it value for money and pleasant. If you don't want to wait for a table in the restaurant you can always find a cozy little table in the bar or outside in the sunshine, this way avoiding the wait - just pay and go get your dinner! We have always found the food to be fresh even when eating at times that are not 'typical', the portion sizes are what you make them which is lovely if you are eating with a light eater and a hungry horrace at the same time! The staff are friendly and happy to help. The only down side I would say is that if you add puddings then this makes a big difference to the size of the bill!

The only thing I like about Toby is that you pick your own Veg. They are very tight with the meat. Sometimes the beg is to hard and you cannot cut it with a knife

Took Grandchildren here for a Carvery Lunch, after being informed at the quality of food.Could not fault anything from entering to leaving.Good choice of Meats on offer and large range of vegetables (constantly being replinished whilst we were there).All food was hot and delicious. Drink prices are reasonable however food prices are very inexpensive.Will be returning.

We had a drink at the bar when we arrived but the barman was more interested in talking to his friends who were playing on the Toy Box. Our waitress was telling us how tired she was but a fag had perked her up! The food was good and the chef pleasant.

I stopped here for dinner while staying at the Novotel next door with my wife and two year old. I went for the carvery and my wife went for one of the salads while due to her age our daughter was allowed to have a spare plate and eat from our meals. Allowing very young children to eat from a parents plate is a great policy because she often doesn't eat much when we go out and it would be wasted. We asked for a small spoon as we had forgotten our daughters and the fetched one from the kitchen when they couldn't find one in the cutlery drawer.My meal was roughly what you would expect, not great but not bad either at a good price. My wife said her salad was nice but it comes with a honey & mustard dressing which she said there was far too much of and if you got it on the food hen that was pretty much all you could taste.Afterwards we had ice cream desserts which were very nice.

The food was lovely, as always, party of 6 3 different generations. However we did have to wait for table so ordered a drink from the bar. The young girl handed me 2 glasses of ice ready for me to pour the bottles in myself. But she had a finger and thumb inside the glasses which is extremely poor hygiene. I pointed out that I wanted fresh glasses and she got the lip on and said her hands were clean. She had just handled money from the customer prior without a hand wash so her lack of cleanliness had a lot to be desired.Staff in restaurant were lovely.

Been here a few times and each time food is well cooked and very good value for money. If you want a good hearty roast lunch with a choice of excellent gravy then this is an ideal choice, plus you can have as much veg as you want. Best to go during the week as it is cheaper and very busy at weekends, not surprising though as it is so good.
