I really enjoyed the food. I had a bit of each of the 4 meats. Veg and roast spuds along with the Yorkshire pudding were great. Service was first class

We really enjoyed our meal at Toby Shiremoor, all the staff that we encountered were pleasant, Marley our main server was absolutely lovely with our little boy and gave great service. The food was so nice, probably the best Toby we've had, especially the roasties! We hadn't been to this one before but we were travelling and happened to pass this branch on our journey home so we were glad it turned out to be such a pleasant visit.

What a disappointment was looking forward to a decent carvery big let down the food was terrible dry over cooked just dead I don't recommend this place the staff were nice only thing the place has going for it's self wouldn't be coming back here in a hurry 😡😡

Nice, quiet meal in on a Monday afternoon. Food was okay, dumplings are a great seasonal addition. Our server Nikita was brilliant and deserves a lot of credit for her friendly demeanour and how she was with children. One of the better service experiences ive had in this restaurant.

I ordered 2 roast dinners when it eventually did turn up it was cold and that was the best part..the food was squashed into round containers and looked like something out of a slop bin it was impossible to separate the items from each other however i tried to put it on the plate in some sort of order, everything had to be reheated even the roast potatoes that i swear were cooked today about 12 oclock the gravy had no meat stock in it tasted like cheap gravy powder, could not eat the roast beef as it would have taken me til next week to chew it, it was full of fat and sinew this so called carvery cost me over £28.00 i estimate that we ate 15% of the dinner and the other 85% is going in the bin...see pics the food came in the round containers and what is left in them is going in the bin..this food is pig swill and i want a refund until i get one this review will be circlulated on local social media..I feel totally ripped off..somehow someone else's photos is coming up with mine the pictures of the dinners on the plates are not mine

Smashing sunday roast and pudding

not completely impressed. I ordered the starter pack, the roast potatoes were missing and I got 2 tubs of macaroni cheese. the custard was missing from the apple pie. won't be ordering again.

Ordered and delivered within 1 hour. Food arrived and only needed a brief spin in the microwave to bring back to piping hot, roast beef,turkey and pork and ample vegetables and roasties and Gravy, and 2 massive Yorkshire’s. Well worth the little extra cost for the convenience.

It's probably the worst toby carvery I've had so far. I've visited quite a few around the country. When I entered this afternoon at dinner time, I did question on a Sunday how we got seated straight away, and the place had barely any customers. The meat selection was better than normal as they had lamb beef turkey and others, which normally weren't available, so my hopes were high. The meat was delicious, both the lamb and the turkey. But then the gravy was watery but lumpy, the mac and cheese was burnt. The sausages were burnt. The mash had no flavour and wasn't the right texture, and the stuffing was like mush. Wouldn't return to this toby.

We both enjoyed the food at the carvery and good value. Particularly the service by about four different staff members. They were all happy and seemed to enjoy their roles. Overall excellent !!

Ordered from Toby Carvery Shiremoor via JustEat. The delivery was on time, and the food seemed fresh and well-cooked. Unfortunately, when we went to eat, the food was cold. It appeared to be packed in tubs, which may have affected the temperature. Overall, the food quality was good, but it was disappointing it wasn’t served hot. Hope this can be improved for future orders.

First time dining at this branch . Food and service were excellent especially the brownies. One little downside I might want to raise was the restaurant is too small for that many tables , ppl often bump into each other especially when we were carrying the food then to the tables . But it was a Sunday visit though.

We had an excellent experience at the Shiremoor Toby Carvery! The food was delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked, and the service was outstanding. Jen truly went above and beyond to accommodate our allergies, ensuring we felt safe and well cared for throughout the meal. Her knowledge, kindness, and attention to detail were incredible. It’s rare to find such dedicated staff, and we can’t thank her enough. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the exceptional service!

Usually go to Kenton Toby but came to this one as was closer wish I didn’t bother. Food was bland absolutely no taste. Staff clearly didn’t want to be there no enthusiasm at all. Over heard supervisor/manager lady in green top being rude to customers that were checking themselves in as they didn’t count the baby in the pushchair as a person for how many seats. I get when it’s busy it’s stressful but people come out to spend their money at least be nice and have smiles on your faces. Zero smiles from any staff members. I’ve worked in hospitality for a lot of years and standards need to be higher than what I witnessed yesterday.

horrible the beef was chewy.. it was barely warm and as for the Yorkshire's one was as flat as a pancake... not worth the money

We stopped off at this carvery on the way home from our holiday and was astounded by the food quality, service and hospitality offered. Our host, Katarina, was amazing with the kids and topped the end of our holiday off perfectly. The kids have asked if we can go back and I would make the long trip again just to do so. Thankyou for everything and once again, Thankyou Katarina.

Stopped off on our way back to Sunderland from a late holiday in Pitlochry for the kids. I've never been to a Toby Carvery before but was pleasantly surprised. Kat, our server was incredible as I'm celiac so i need to know what's in everything including the gravey etc. She made our experience top notch and my wife said we should go back.

What a place, but katarina makes it better

Waited for 20 minutes to order starters, asked the manager if we could order, 10 minutes later asked the waiter & finally ordered. There was only 1 other small table in the restaurant. We were then told the kitchen would be closing before we had our starters. For carvery the Brussels were like bullets, rest of veg rather dried up. Yorkshire puddings were amazing tho. Only beef left & was rather fatty. Thanks to the manager for charging us 1 less meal due to the limited meat available.

Unfortunately, this is the worst Toby I've been to. Arrived at 8.15pm, and even though the restaurant didn't close until 10pm, there was very little meat on offer. No Turkey or Gammon, and what was left of the Beef and Pork wasn't worth having. Vegetables and potatoes were cold. As soon as we had eaten, we were asked if we could make our way over to the bar and pay as they wanted us to leave so they could close up.

Took our grandsons ther today wasnt nice at all gravy was watery got scratch ends of the pork asked for diluted orange got fresh orange waitress wasn't very friendly I was getting kids coats on ready to leave while my husband went to pay the bill waitress came rushing over asking which direction my husband went to pay bill like he was goin to run off told her he's waiting at bar to pay bill she went rushing over grandson wer 2 and 3 year old she charged us for ther meal plus a pudding which they diddnt have was expensive diddnt mind paying for ther meal but not a pudding they diddnt have diddnt realise untill we got home and looked at receipt won't be goin back that's for sure

The meanest ever portions of meat. Everything is a part slice smaller than a beer mat size. For £14.99 ,I can save money by going elsewhere and getting decent portions. Good quality, just need a magnifying glass to find it. Not the Sunday carvery experience I was expecting .

trouble giving a code your delivery should be more easy

It can get extremely busy and a little bit loud (but that's to be expected). The queue for the food goes down relatively quickly considering the amount of people they cater for. The staff work tirelessly to accommodate and do a very good job considering they rarely have the time to stand still. Overall, a pleasant experience once seated with a meal. The veggies are yummy (with loads of tasty options) ..... If you want a Sunday dinner and don't want the hassle then get yourself down there - let someone else do the washing up lol 😁 ..... If you're having your Toby carvery delivered to the home, based on experience, I'd give it 3***

Missing items such as cake and serving of pnb and stuffing was removed on order due to allergies but came with.

Our visit to Toby Carvery Shiremoor was good. The food was nice and plentiful with a good choice of vegetables. The staff were very efficient and friendly.

This was the worst Sunday lunch I’ve ever had. It looked like it had all just been thrown into a box. I asked for 3 meats & only received 2, well only 1 that I could eat as the slice of beef was just one lump of thick gristle. Roast pots were solid.

Just had the absolute worst Sunday dinner I've ever had delivered, beef was all fat, gammon was literally the same, roast potatoes were massively over cooked to the point they were hard and empty. Everything is stuffed into a little box, it was a absolute mess never again

Veg was rubbish must have been sitting untouched for ages was so mushy meat was dry way over price there are much better carvery’s out there and took staff ages to seat us even though it was quiet

Absolutely fab spot for a stress free family meal. Our waitress, Marley, was wonderful, she went above and beyond with service and amazing drinks; my kids haven't stopped raving about best juice ever! Plus the fresh lemon in my fizzy water was such a sweet touch. Thank you Marley, we'll be back soon 🌟

Definitely wasn't fresh. The roast potatoes were all like leather to cut through, the sausage tasted dirty, the beef was fatty but nice, the pork and turkey were very dry and the dumplings were powdery. This used to be good but the quality keeps slipping I think I'll stick to farmhouse inns going forward. The carvery king has abdicated the throne.

I had a fantastic experience at the carvery thanks to our waitress, Marley. She was friendly, attentive, and made excellent recommendations for our kids. Her prompt service and warm positive attitude made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The food was delicious. Highly recommend!

Returned food back to the Toby for a refund which was given. Worst Sunday dinner we have ever had put in front of us . Meal was obviously prepared much earlier in the day ,received it freezing cold,The beef on one meal was just a thick lump of gristle. Roast potatoes were hard and old,the turkey must have been removed pre-delivery next to nothing on both plates. Could go through each item but you get the message.refunded soon as the manager seen what we had.

Only veg we got was peas and carrots. I got pork. Got no slices it was all little scraps. If I had been at the restaurant I would not of paid for it. My daughter got beef and couldn’t eat ANY of it as it was ALL gristle. Very disappointed.

We went late on a Sunday evening and unfortunately, the food wasn't great. There was many options left and the roast potatoes were so overcooked!!! The meats were great. Service was amazing!

Toby carvery came un a round deep container with Meat and veg inside, i microwaved for 4 munutes. The roasts, yorkshire pudding and gravy were all separate, so i added roasts to main dish at 2 minutes, the gravy & Yorkie took a further min. Tasty

The carvery meal is superb, I recommend trying the roast potatoes in beef dripping. DO NOT eat the crackling as I nearly broke my tooth on some.

for having ordered the "ultimeat" carvery, I literally got 1 piece of each dried out scabby meat not even a full slice. I'm sure they were just the little offcuts from the chopping boards. Most definitely will not be ordering from here again!!!

Not a bad place to eat, the meat looks ans is very tasty and there are plenty of things to put on the plate. Sadly it was mostly cold, good tasting but cold. Small portion of pigs in blankets. Although that said, it was very busy !

Dreadful breakfast. Luke warm food - bacon dried and crispy, fried egg had a hard yolk, potatoes/bacon was warm. Absolute waste of good money.

Ben our waiter was exceptionally helpful in a professional way he was a lovley lad always with a smile on his face even when he had to clean the next tables food which was all over the floor he quickly cleaned it up making it ready for the next customers. Nothing was a bother to him I hope we get him next time thankyou Ben and thankyou Toby Carvery Shiremoor for having caring professional staff
