To Die For cafe in Sefton

Ordered this refreshing iced latte which really was to die for would highly recommend and will definitely be going again staff was also extremely friendly

Lovely little place this. Staff very friendly and efficient food nice and did not have to wait too long. Will use again when in town.

We had breakfast with my family and it was great with reasonable prices. Service was fast coffee was great as well

Didn’t even make it as far as ordering…. We came in, sat down to look at the menu when I noticed one of the Servers playing with a little girl’s hair, put a bobble in it, then walk round behind the counter to start serving without washing her hands…. Sorry, absolutely not hygienic, this has put me off and sadly I won’t be back🙁

When in Southport always go here for a Drink and Snack. Good Food from the Menu reasonably Priced. Helpful Staff (Near T K Max)

Upon arrival We were quickly served by a friendly member of staff who made us feel really welcome. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and overall, the food and prices were great. We ordered full English breakfast which was great. We were offered an alternative for kids as well. We enjoyed our food and atmosphere and we will be back again soon.

stopped for cake and coffee to break up the morning. was ok only. We weren't wowed but neither did we complain. Menu a little limited in my opinion as well. Would we go again? no plety of places in lovely Southport serving up cake and coffee so will visit some where new next time.

I came in today for a coffee with my family member an young daughter, we have visited this cafe many times before, and it is usually lovely, most of the staff are usually very pleasant.I was rather disgusted and appalled today when I saw one member of staff, older blonde lady with black glasses, behind the counter cough into her hand!Then I noticed she was also LICKING her finger and wrist after making a child’s milkshake which must have spilt on to her hand! Who the hell does this? Are the staff trained on infection control and basic hygiene!? I was absolutely gob smacked at what I had saw we put the drinks down got up and left! I won’t be returning here again! Beyond disgusting, with all what’s going on with this pandemic the world is facing and you have people in restaurants behaving like that, I’ll never return here again!

Best breakfast around!! Good value for money, all cooked perfectly and lovely welcoming staff!! Excellent customer service.

Sat down to a cooked breakfast that was awful egg was snotty the beans were hard, sausage tasted off bacon was very tough all of it was cold the only thing edible was the toast and that was burnt.

TDF Coffee is an excellent choice as it’s located in the middle of town (Marble place) so it’s really convenient for all the shoppers to eat and drink there.The staff are excellent and extremely pleasant. The food is reasonably priced (around £6.50 for a fish an chips) which is well presented, nice, hot and generously portioned. They also serve a wide range of hot and cold drinks such as teas, coffees and milkshakes and soda. Overall the place is literally To Die For ! Will definitely come again next time

This is an up to date review of the TDF and they couldn't have picked a better title for the Cafe. TO DIE FOR. We ordered the full English breakfast and it was absolutely disgusting. The bacon was like leather, the sausages were tasteless, only two small mushrooms, all in all, we wouldn't advise anyone to order the full English. You will be disappointed. The coffee was very weak. Certainly won't be going in there again!

I been here couple off time and never had a bad meal . Staff is always friendly and helpful...best fish and chips in town .. I ll reccomend 4 everyone who visiting southport ..

stopped off here when out for a drink and a catch up with an old friend. I had a pot of tea, my friend a coffee, both served with a biscuit. it's a pleasant little café in the middle of one of Southport's several little arcades. they have quite the extensive menu, from cakes and pastries, to snacks up to main meals. though we didn't eat, the various dishes we saw served to the numerous other customers all looked really nice. the service was prompt, and very friendly, and the place itself very clean including the toilet facilities. I'd certainly go back there, if hungry or thirsty, next time I'm in the town.

Visited here to day -sat down -menus has tomato sauce on them while 2 staff talk behind the counterOrder a small breakfast and a tea Pouring the tea out from the pot the tea runs down the pot and into the saucer,hence dripping down my shirt while I drink itThe breakfast is appalling -the sausage is made with a paste and inedible while the bacon smells of other food that must have also been cooked on the grill Mushrooms full of water and I suppose they must be from a tin Must be why you pay before you receive this muck The whole experience made me feel sick--never ever again

On the menu they advise people to speak to staff about allergies, intolerances and special requirements they need to know. When I asked about gluten free and lactose free options for myself I was told there aren’t any and would have to just order from what they have on the menu, limiting me to only a few options. Would not recommend to anyone who has an allergy or intolerance at all!!

Terrible service. 20 minutes wait on a scone with butter and jam slapped on your plate. Scone was dry. The toilets needed a good scrubbing and not one single employee wore a hair net.

Hidden away inside Marble place, this is a gem of a place. Inside the cafe proper it is air conditioned, with some cosy seats as well as tables. There is also 'outdoor' seating within the shopping centre.Staff are friendly, polite and quick to serve. The menu is varied, and all the food is truly excellent. They do lovely hot meals as well as sandwiches and cakes that really are to die for. The drinks range is good and there is a selection available for children too.

After checking the train times home, we opted to go to T.D.F. for some lunch. Hubby went for the Fish, chips & mushy peas, I went for the Meat & Potato pie, chips & mushy peas. The meals were tasty, although over generous with the chips, the peas tasted like tinned ones to us, [we prefer proper 'mushy' peas]. We shared a teapot of tea for our drinks which was refreshing and in a 'huge' pot. The staff were very pleasant, and the prices were reasonable. The loo's were basic, but did the job.

Best cafe in southport so far xx food and cake is amazing xx so tasty service is excellent they always made u feel welcome ..

Great friendly staff, good value food and drinks. Plenty of choice. Staff can't do enough for you. We have become weekly regulars whilst our kids are doing are at activities.

Found this place by chance and very good proper hand cut chips food was all cooked fresh yes we did wait but it was worth the wait it's like I always say good things come to those who wait plus if I'd of wanted fast food I'd of gone to macdonalds keep up the great home style cooking TDF

The wife and I always come here when shopping in Southport. Staff are pleasant and the food is good and hot. Chose Chili Con Carne this time, was fantastic. Recommended.

Where do you start? From being made to wait to order as three members of staff looked every which way but in the direction of a potential customer to the incredibly long wait for said food, the poorly managed toilet facilIties, the incorrect order being delivered to our table and the cold food that was a ridiculously long time in arriving, our visit to TDF was disappointing to say the least. Safe to say we shall not be returning any time soon.

Only had drinks here. We were very pleasantly surprised- the staff were really friendly and the drinks were excellent. (Amazing milkshakes!) so glad we went there instead of one of the usual coffee shops and will visit again.

The food was presented nice and hot the management will go out for there way to help you the breakfast menu is very good and affordable

went to this beautiful little café and the food is amazing.id recommend it to anyone..the staff are lovely. certainly heading to this lovely little Gem for meal on our next visit..served by a lovely lass called Daniela..if you visit Southport and need a decent meal this is the place to go and I promise you wont be disappointed

Popped into this little treasure today for breakfast. Very well presented, clearly cooked from fresh! Tea for 2 also ordered which came to our table very quickly! Staff very friendly indeed. We will defiantly be back for breakfast again.

Not convinced it's a great name for a café but we were hungry and we were passing so stopped for a spot of lunch. Great outside seating! I say it's outside but it's just outside the café but still under cover of the arcade. Very comfy chairs though! We ordered some panini's and a couple of lattes. Service was good and quite swift. Food was good and came accompanied with a bit of salad and some tortilla chips. Maybe a touch pricey, only considering a full English breakfast was just 20p more expensive! No complaints though.

I visited here on Tuesday and I had served by a lovely young lady, who had the best customer service skills. Very nice food too! Best service in town!

On my last TWO visits to Southport I have visited this Café for BREAKFAST. On both occasions I have had a First class meal, freshly cooked to order. The produce was very good quality and as I said only cooked to order . LINDA ,the Chef, was very proficient at her job and certainly took pride in what she cooked and the way it was presented and with a very pleasing personality.

Dropped in for coffee & a snack while shopping in town, We chose lattes, I decided on a cherry danish and hubby had a scone + butter. The coffee & cakes were good, but not up to a 'very good' 4 score.

when we went got told about it we were pleased we when in the café the staff was pleasant and happy the service was excellent and the food was brilliant we give them 10 out of 10

We went in today after visiting tkmax to have a coffee but after looking at the menu we thought it sounds nice we will have some lunch. We ordered and paid for lunch at 2.05pm and they said it would be about 10 mins because there was nobody else in. At 2.50pm I went in to ask were is our food only to be told it would be another 10 mins. Bearing in mind the only other people apart from us had both come in after us and at this point were walking out after having a refund because they too had not been served their food. Our food then started to come out only to find that the sweet chilli chicken panini that she had so patiently waited for was still stone cold inside. I took the panini back in and told the waiter only to be met with a comment "whatever" so I walked to the till demanded my money and left. What an absolute shower of sh** i will never step foot in there again and certainly recommend to everybody I know to stay well clear.

Mi marido decidió tener una pastelería con su bebida, pero no te gusta nada, quiso que él no había molestado, dijo que era insípida. Hay muchos otros lugares para ir en la ciudad, este lugar necesita su juego antes de que volvería.

Llamamos por un café y un sentarse después habíamos estado en TK MAX para hacer algunas compras de regalos, nos sentamos en la parte trasera de la cafetería del sillones cómodos. Teníamos 2 lattes grandes, esperamos bastante tiempo pero no parecía tan lleno, la chica...

No regresaría, la comida era terrible, que claramente el uso barato salsas en botellas de HP. Fue caro, no muy bien cocinada, y para ser honesto no parecía limpia. No lo recomendaría.

El personal muy agradable en una cafetería muy común. Situado en una pequeña zona interior al por menor se detuvo para tomar un café y un pastel, muy decepcionados en oferta.

I asked for a double shot of coffee for my husband's cappuccino and it came as weak as dishwasher.My decaf was presented half empty in a mug with coffee stains all around the outside.They took an age to come as well.The table was not wiped before we Sat down, so I did this myself with a spare napkin, in front of one of the servers, who just looked without aiming to take over with a proper discloth wiping.This promoted me to look at the government website 'Scores on the Doors which rates the hygiene of eateries and it was 3* which is average . No excuse for any establishment in this town to be less than 5.I won't be returning.

Called in on Saturday lunchtime with my wife for cappuccino coffees and cakes. The cafe was warm, clean and tidy, and our coffees and cakes were brought to our table by a lovely cheerful waitress within a few minutes of being ordered. I appreciate some reviewers have been disappointed by their visits here when ordering hot meals but I can only speak from my own experience. Our drinks and snacks were fine: hot, tasty and good value for money. I definitely haven't been put off visiting this cafe again.

We called in at TDF just for a snack on Tuesday of this week. There were no cleared tables yet there were only about 8 customers. We placed an order, although they did not have many snacks available, we decided to sit inside as these tables did not look as cluttered as the ones outside. We asked one of the boy behind the counter if he could get someone to clear the table he said yes, after 10 minutes I asked waitress in the cafe to do it she said she would in a bit, however she went to sit at one of the tables and started rubbing her feet!!! One of the other men came out of the toilets after filling them up with toilet rolls and proceeded to carry food to people waiting outside. By this time we were still waiting for our table to be cleared although none of the other tables had been cleared. The waitress finally came and cleared it and stacked the dishes on the open hatch going into the kitchen with others. We finally got served but had to ask for the table to be wiped before the food was put on it.Then we had to get our own cutlery. The food was good but the whole attitude of the people working in this place was terrible. They do not deserve custom as lots of people walked away befor of all the tables being full of empty plates.

called for lunch after shopping- ordered tuna jacket potato and the homemade soup with drinks, as it was not a cold day we sat outside . mum loved the soup - homemade cauliflower -made fresh each day.

I went there with my sister for lunch on recommendation. The service was friendly enough. We decided to have soup and, while it was pleasant, it wasn't anything 'to die for'. What shocked me in this day and age was that we were given a slice of cheap white bread already buttered (or was it margarine?) with it. I've never been served anything like this before and, of course, I didn't eat it. Why could there not have been either home made bread or at least a decent piece of bought in bread. Given the choice, I would have wolfed down some good quality bread but I won't eat rubbish like that and it put us off staying for coffee/cake. Surely Southport deserves better?

Dropped in for a quick cuppa as I was passing by. Not busy as it wad Monday am. The man who served me was efficient friendly and fast. Cappuccino was a bit weak & bland and had the usual over frothy milk topped with chocolate powder. Nothing special I am sorry to say. Sitting in the open area outside the Mall had music that was intrusively load which got more annoying as time passed. Perhaps not the cafes fault but not a very quiet outside spot to sit!

My Husband and Myself called here for Lunch today. It is clean and airy and the food is well presented and tasty.There is seating inside and out and it is a nice place to have a snack and a coffee.Give it a try.

Service great,can get a few orders messed up sometimes but hey-they quickly sort it out.Kids like it here as well as we all like the Panini's. You can sit outside in shopping mall area or indoors-which has quirky interior and staff work very hard here which has to be noted.Often stop by for lunch with kids when we have been shopping in town.

Visited here as a one off for a change, first visit, upon arrival the waitresses where having there own conversation and not taking any interest to there customers... having been a waitress myself I know it is sometimes inconvenient when discussing matters behind the counter about the daily running but to be having a personal conversation it is a bit disrespectful to your customers. When our breakfast arrived I was disappointed to see tinned tomatoes and a single mushroom when it states mushrooms?The waitress that served us was very disinterested and couldn't even force a smile! It would be a great little place if the staff didn't go to work just for the money which in this case I think it is. I was going to have a scone but judging by there presentation it looks as if they've been there a couple of days especially when the cream has gone yellow and the jam had split on the plate. I do not think I will be revisiting.

Food and Drinks here were delicious. I opted for the Sweet Chilli Chicken Baguette and a Vanilla Milkshake. Very tasty at an excellent price. Would recommend a trip here

The food was nice but the service was bad. Staff were so miserable and didn't see one of them smile once! It felt to difficult to order at the till as the guy hardly spoke to us and didn't say please or thank you once. Customer service needs some work!

I'd seen good reviews of T.D.F, but we just thought it was ok. we had 2 lattes + a scone with jam, we cant comment on the meal menu, the scone was tasty but crumbled on cutting, so couldnt be spread with the'spread' or jam properly, made for messy eating. the toilet was ok but needs an update. if we return it may only be for drinks.

poor service, got our food and cultlery practically thrown at us and one meal arrived after the rest of us had finished! some female staff were lovely however there was a poor communication between not only the customers and staff but also between staff the self, also service with a smile did not apply! although food was average, will not visit here again though I'm sorry

Nice little cafe with reasonable prices but the service is painfully slow. Given there were at least 4 staff I was appalled how long it took to get coffee and cake and when they did the order was wrong which meant another lengthy wait whilst they made the right coffee and got the right cake. That said the scone and cake were very nice. You could indeed die of hunger or thirst whilst waiting.

We ordered meat and potato pie and my sister ordered steak pudding, we could'nt even cut it it was inedible , the vegetables tasted like they were out of a tin worse meal I have ever tried to eat , we will not be going back,after telling the waitress the staff completely ignored us,we did'nt even get an apology or a refund

Whilst on holiday we visited here twice. The 1st time we both had egg and chips and a coffee. The 2nd time just a coffee. The staff when we visited the 1st time were really efficient, friendly and helpful. The coffee was really good

Last time we had lunch here was some months ago-it was really nice then. Boy has it changed. We ordered at the counter fish and chips and liver, bacon and onions. Waited about 10 minutes then the waitress said she was sorry but there was no liver. My husband looked at the menu and ordered sausages, mash and onion gravy. Then I was told they had no fish (Friday at 12.30 I ask you) so I ordered the Lasagne. Felt so sorry for my husband as my Lasagne looked really nice and his meal was horrible. Two sausages (really cheap ones) sliced in half and laid flat in gravy (no onions in it) and the mash-words fail me. My lasagne-oh how appearances can be deceptive! Layer upon layer of Lasagne, very little meat sauce, no cheese just a bone dry brick- like offering. We just left it all. We would have complained but couldn't think who to - nobody seemed to speak English very well and the service just wasn't friendly-in other words we just wanted to get out of the place. Other reviewers have said how nice it is-look though-it seems they are just the customers ordering cake/coffee.What has happened-such a shame because we shall not set foot in there again.

Visited mid afternoon on a Saturday. We ordered coffee and cake at the counter and this was brought to our table within 3 or 4 minutes. The cakes were very tasty and the coffee was good. Very pleasant service and good value for money.

Me and my friends used to come every day for little break, but last week was mess in coffee. I did not see manager there and also that nice blonde lady is missing. So I asked young lady where is manager and she said that owner kicked them out (blonde lady too) on their marriage day because they wanted one day off. Horrible people! Will not buy something from them anymore.

Visited today after some exhausting shopping. The cakes looked wonderful but had had to refrain so we had diet cokes. The service was great. The seats were super comfy. Been a few times before and had cakes - always been tasty. And consequently have returned due to good previous experiences

I went to this cafe today with family, we all ordered toasties - waited 45 minutes!!! for the food. Then when asked how long it would be we got told another 10 minutes!! The cafe wasn't even that busy. Service totally disgusting. Staff can't speak English - when asked one of the waitresses how long the food would be she had to get someone else to come over to tell us!! About to walk out to get our money back and then they brought the food - my egg and bacon toastie - turned out the egg wash hard like it had been left in the pan for 10 minutes! The staff need to learn how to manage a cafe correctly. What a disappointment.

I have visited many times before and never had a problem. After ordering food and paying for it was told 20 minute wait not a problem but 45 mins later still no food. We only ordered 3 sandwiches and an ommlette?! Tables around us not cleared. Two staff in kitchen one on till one doing drinks just not enough for the time of year! After nearly an hour we asked for our money back. I asked where Mehmet (manager) was today - in Turkey i was told. I'm pretty sure Mehmet would have been horrified today! Got money back then as we were leaving they said our food was ready and we could have it free, fair enough and the man on till did keep apologising. It was ok nothing more.... Asked for brown bread it was on white, cheese tasteless no pickle and had to go and request cutlery too! Hurry back Mehmet!!

Me and my sister came to tdf after shopping in town, we placed our Order and sat patient! We waited over half an hour but still no food!! Eventually the member of staff who took our order said " have you ordered a panini?" Seemed to me no one knows what there doing in there! When we got our food it wasn't very tasteful ! The waitress with blonde hair who was serving the food and drinks looked un-presentable, and not one smile or welcoming face!!! We shall not be returning!!

After having this cafe recommended to me by a family member who had been once before, i was looking forward to our lunch after looking at the varied menu. It appeared quite busy so when our food hadn't arrived after 20mins we weren't too bothered about waiting a bit longer. I then noticed that people who had come in after us were being served their food. 35mins later and as we were getting up to ask how long it was going to be, the waiter called across the till to ask if we had ordered food. We said yes 35mins ago but it hadn't come yet. I was then told that yeah its because the order slip had been lost and it would be ready in another five mins. Small apology was made for the wait, and the excuse was because she may have thrown the order in the bin. Shouldnt have bothered as the food wasn't that nice anyway.

Not sure what on the menu is to "die for" but it wasn't what we ordered. Staff indifferent, and untrained on the use of the orders 'till'. It came pretty fast, but mine was wrong, I ordered a pannini with chicken, cheese and sweet chillisauce, when it came the filling was cold and the sauce I think was just wafted over, so not impressed and we won't be back.

Pleasant staff serve good food at moderate prices. A lovely place to sit outside with the rain battering on the atrium roof.

This cafe is ideally located in the centre of Southport in the Marble arcade. The cafe has plenty of seating inside and seating outside, which is sheltered and covered due to being in the arcade. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is clean and attractive. The food is made fresh to order and the portion sizes are good. The prices are not cheap, but the cost is reflected in the excellent service and good quality food served. They also make a really nice hot chocolate.

Attractive external tables within the Marble Place shopping precinct, but beware of the (internal) unpriced menu boards!

Called in yesterday whilst shopping and was pleasantly suprised by the friendly and efficient service. The latte coffees were excellent as were the very fresh scones and jam. Cheaper than the larger chains and well worth popping in where you have the choice of either an inside or outside table inside the Mall. Well done !!!!!!

This is a nice little cafe with a relaxed atmosphere. Particularly pleasant in the winter because you can sit outside under glass.

My coffee was ready before I made it to the table... lovely art exhibition usually on, delicious lattes, nice range of food....
