Just had their £3.95 Breakfast deal, plus a filter coffee, £2.00! A generous portion, but food could of done with being a bit hotter. Filter coffee was nice and strong. I liked the fact that the young waitress gave me a small jug of milk to pour into the coffee myself... The premises, especially the tables, looked spotlessly clean, always a good sign as far as I'm concerned. Will bring the wife here next time I'm in this part of the world. David.

Can not even put a 1 star. Ordered a breakfast for delivery took ages. When it arrived the food was just in a sloppy mess. It was freezing. Tryed abit of a sausage. Tasted so greasy. Absolutely disgusting. What a waist of money. The lot went in the bin. I will never in my life order from this place ever ever again

I ordered from here on just eat, I realised I had put the wrong address in but when I tried to phone the restaurant numerous times, they never answered the phone. It was “user busy” for a solid half an hour resulting in me having to cancel the order with a zero refund. They need to learn to answer their phone

Overall very nice with the exception of the breakfast sausages. Really unpleasant, and after a word with one of the waitresses we were clearly not the first to complain about them. Unfortunately many business owners take little notice of comments posted here. Sadly we will not use again.

Had to wait over 30 mins for our egg and chips, the eggs was not cooked enough,as we sat waiting,I could see into the prep/kitchen area, the lady who was buttering bread kept in licking her thumb, she was obviously licking the butter off,I saw her do this 3 times in the 30 mins, she had blonde hair and wore glasses, not very hygienic for a food outlet, won't be visiting again

We were passing through the area and tried this establishment as our usual one had closed down. Quite impressed how clean and efficient the place was. Staff were very friendly and helpful and cleanliness was impeccable. Food and coffee were very nice and would highly recommend this place.

Lunch yesterday . Place was freezing cold , no heating and had to sit with coats on . Order tuna sandwich and chips and a Mexican chicken bagel . Tuna too full of mayo and was dripping out of sandwich . Chips tasted of used oil . Mexican chicken bagel , bagel was toasted but cold filling ! Too much mayo and dropped out of bagel . No cutlery supplied so unable to eat it . Asked for tuna in granary which was given in whole meal . What’s the point in asking ! Overall a poor experience and not recommended

Went to meet friends so our children could play upstairs. We ordered some kid snack box meals and a steak baguette. The food took 40 minutes to arrive because they sent it up through the lift and forgot to get it at the other end. The baguette was cold in places so we sent it bag. They returned it too us slightly warmer but clearly just shoved the whole plate into the microwave as it was too hot to carry. We complained downstairs and the waitress (who first asked who served us even though it was her) asked the manager to speak to us. He came over, no apology, just said that she didn’t have to pay. We found the staff unwelcoming , rude and lazy. Never again.

I went in yesterday with my daughter and 2 year old grandson - excellent food and brilliant service- my grandson wasnt well and was sick on the floor - the staff were amazing, cleaned up without a problem - kept checking my grandson was ok and brought him some water. I would definitely recommend this place and would like to say a big THANKYOU to all the staff

Stumbled upon Tjs when looking for somewhere to eat, had never been to Halifax before. Food was amazing and the friendly staff. It is in a lovely little arcade right in the Town centre, will definitely go again.

Been to TJ's a few times now and it is definitely not as good as it used to be. The jacket potatoes are very nice but the token of a salad dressing is pointless. The staff all look miserable and not friendly at all, and so does the owner. Shame because it used to be very friendly and smiley staff too.

Looked inviting.Husband and friend went off to eat from the market stall so my friend and I decided to eat at this cafe . They arrived back and we had only just got our cup of tea. Waited a long time then waited for our lunch. Was there quite a while even though they weren’t busy.

I visited here today whilst waiting for my daughter in an appointment. I was told to take a seat and the waitress was very attentive and came to me shortly after. I only had a cappuccino and it was hot and sprinkled with chocolate, and I have to say the food looked and smelled lovely! They are licensed to sell wine and the sandwiches sounded good so I would definitely return on a Christmas shopping day for lunch with my hubby Thank you TJ x

Asked for late with an extra shot - got warm brown milk with no coffee flavour at all.Ordered full - English. Served cold tinned plum tomatoes, cheapest possible sausages and actually quite reasonable bacon & beans. There is really no reason why this place could not serve good food. Can only assume lazyness...assumption supported by the fact that the owner is outside having a fag and gorping at his phone as I type. No doubt reading the latest batch of bad reviews!

Went in to get take away while they were busy. Grumpy old guy running it shouting at me for turning up as he’s busy. Spending the rest of his time shouting at his staff. Shame as could be ok but won’t be back to be spoken to like a tw@t

Called in today and ordered chips, disgusting fat soaked yuckiness would have been better of going to McDonald's. Second time the food has been poor so won't be calling again.

Lovely manager, very friendly. Helpful staff to begin with, opening upstairs for us to sit with our two year old. The play area is a great idea. Unfortunately food over priced for cheap ingredients. Would be great to be able to butter own toast for example rather than have it sent with barely any on. Served meat chilli on a jacket after specifying vegetarian option. Received a meek apology from a girl on the till but not waitress or chef. Could be great, such a shame really.

Food is exactly what you’d expect from a spoons - good enough and the price is right. Can confirm they can pour a pint of Guinness. Lovely building.

Dinner during a weekday. Booked table for four. When we went there it was about six and we were seated in the pokey part of the restaurant...dark and we cannot see the menu as it was that dark. Food ...nothing to write about. Fish and chips...and others ordered the burgers with chicken. Usual fare for restaurants. More choices in the town centre...

We were here as a family, twice in one week as we were on holiday. Both times the staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was spot on and the food was very nice - couldn’t fault it. The location is great for chilling, having a few drinks and relaxing with family. We sat outside on the Monday and indoors on Thursday and it was comfortable, clean and friendly. The children enjoyed looking at the locks and seeing the canal boats. Parking was opposite the restaurant. Our food was served hot and it was well presented. There were six of us and we all ordered different dishes so it wasn’t that easy for the kitchen but it all arrived at the same time and was delicious. The staff went the extra mile for our group which we appreciated , once to give our youngest a take-away dessert as we had to leave before he had time to eat it and then later in the week, giving us some bread for the children to bait their new fishing lines. We would definitely return to The Moorings when we’re in the area.
