Food was nice but asked for mild heat and didn't get what I asked for, I didn't make a fuss as I was with a party of people and I payed the price upset stomach for a day afterwards and a burning bottom. Would not risk it again.

Consistently my favourite place for eat in and takeout curries. The lamb chops and grilled meats are immense. The curries are consistent well cooked and tasty. Takeaway service is extremely quick.

Don’t compare it to ‘Indian Curry’ Houses. Pakistani Food is a lot more spicy, so expect more heat and bold flavours! Went on Eid. It was very busy, but the service was really good and they coped well. Food tasted good and restaurant was nice and warm 😊

If you are looking for proper pakistani cuisine than this is the place to go to! From the exterior to the interior, the reception and the welcome we received to the end , it was perfect and we loved it. The staff were welcoming and friendly especially the lady Gagan and the other lady waiting on us as well. They have a excellent kids menu and an outstanding menu with a wide selection of dishes. Everything was very well presented and delivered. The food was delicious and spot on! We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area and recommending Tipu to everyone!

Visited here for a friend’s birthday the other day in a large party of people and the service was excellent and speedy though I wasn’t quite a fan of the flavours I was introduced to when eating my Peshwari Gosht apart from that it was still edible and my cucumber, mango and pineapple salad made up for it. I just believe that the meat seasoning can be a bit heavy at times or overpowering regardless of this the atmosphere is lovely with beautiful interior and staff are always quick to help with anything!

Absolutely love the food from this place. I have never eaten in the restaurant but I order delivery from here every week. It's delicious. I always crave asian food like karahi and biriyani as I am a uni student and don't get to eat home cooked food often, but this food is just next level. So worth the price, not many places can compete.

Lovely food, lovely staff. We went on Mother's Day so understandably they were super busy, but food still came out quick enough and the lady who took our order was lovely.

Terrible breakfast, was so busy staff kicked us out and gave us disposable tea cups so we can take our tea home, very disappointing!

We were refused to sit on a table by person called Adi despite we already reserved a table beforehand. There was no reservation pit on table and despite several requests, ADI refused to allow us to use the table. The table was left empty despite our efforts. We were left squished and not attended. They just wanted to get our money with no consideration of our situation.

Really disappointed with my visit, the waitress was really friendly, we ordered and we're told that all the food would come together. It did not! What food did come out was cold, it was returned to the kitchen. When the food was returned we found a grey hair in the kebab. It was clearly not ours as we don't have any grays, The manager tried to help as much as he could however unfortunately the 2 issues made me just want to leave.

Good food, friendly staff and nice decor. Papri Chaat war very good. Peshawari Chicken, Hyderabadi Lamb, mushroom rice were nice and Pilau rice was tasty and felt like biryani without chicken. We were warned about the medium spice level in both meat dishes we ordered but these were on the mild side for us. So, just check the spice level before ordering. All of meat was halal and there are plenty of non alcoholic drink options in the drinks menu. Restaurant has plenty of free on-site parking.

Liaz - a waiter - was too nice and patient with us. Told us how soon our food would be served. Engaged with us comfortably whilst we were waiting for our food. When the food arrived, everything was on point.

Excellent on all fronts. The food was amazing and excellent value. Fresh ingredients, beautifully cooked, and packed with flavour. Spicy but not at the expense of flavour. Don't be put off by the lack of alcohol on offer either. The mocktails were fantastic, in particular the Virgin Mojito. The service too is impeccable. Knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. They clearly have a good service system in place, and the staff are excellent. We will be back!

Visited here for dinner, and it was quite good. We weren't expecting so much food when we ordered, but we ended up extremely full 😅 I particularly liked the strawberry daiquiri, the lamb chops, naan bread (garlic and cheesy) and samosa. I think I preferred the butter chicken my husband had to what I had. Better choice with my sauce next time. Otherwise, fantastic dinner out

We hired out tipu for my sister’s wedding and I’m so glad we did, the service food and decoration was amazing! The staff (Naresh, Umar, wajee) were very helpful considering the amount of guests and made us all feel welcome and offered a great service… I would definitely recommend. The manger who helped us plan out the wedding was also very accommodating and answered all our queries! So thankyou again to the tipu sultan team my sister had a beautiful experience thanks to you!

Tipu Sultan is the best restaurant you can visit in the UK ( no exaggeration ). The food is above excellent, the atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly. AND IT IS AFFORDABLE 😍. I live in Cardiff and whenever I come to Nottingham, I have to pay the place a visit. P.s after many visits, the place feels more like home than a restaurant where we go to eat. As we own our own businesses we always try support new ones so have done since this one opened , unfortunately the customer service here is to a low standard we had a couple of cans missed off our last order before this 1 - shop told us when we order next time let the shop know and the drinks will be added , I said don’t u want to make a note of it with the address etc no just ring next time - so we did as asked ,when we rang we were asked who was working that night - anyway after a long conversation about 2 cans we were told they would send with tonight’s order - as u can probably guess they didn’t send the drinks & probably do this to loads of people all year round - even though iv noticed a lot of 1 star reviews I always say if we haven’t had a problem yet we will still use the business - now I understand why it has so many - it’s a shame to see really - we won’t recommend or use this establishment again

They are discriminatory if they think you aren't Muslim. They also stare at you whilst your eating, and when your celebrating a birthday as we did, they turned up there volume so high it became annoying, so much so the frequency of the music they played, messes with your mental health. The food were astounding, they don't go above and beyond for darker ppl of colour. Quite oredjuiced. I have taken my mother, my children and my sister, separately each time and because my children don't see it, they loved the food but the last time, to drown out you talking they hated it. So, don't go. We're Muslim but because we're black they discriminated against us wanted us to eat and leave despite the place being empty, and them being warm and caring to asian looking ppl. It's way too expensive ajd not worth your money to be treated like that. The chef is priceless, he's an exceptional cook who doesn't know his worth and is being exploited.

It was an excellent evening at Tipu with excellent service, welcoming atmosphere, great music and ambience and good food served with love. Simran was exceptionally good and served our table very well.

I would have given an overall rating of 4.5 if there was an option. We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening. We were told small groups of three do not require prior booking, and we got a table within five minutes. Located on the Mansfield Road, the place has plenty of parking. The ambience is great and staff friendly. The menu has a good spread of authentic South Asian cuisine, both vegetarian and non vegetarian. The starters and dessert were excellent; the mains were good too, but I would not describe them as exceptional. The service was very prompt with regular updates. Simran, who served us, was very good. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I'm sure we'll be coming again.

I’ve a lovely evening, fantastic dining experience on my first visit to Tipu Sultan Nottingham. The interior design of the building is beautiful , the food is absolutely exceptional with excellent service from every single member of staff. Really enjoyed it, special thanks to everyone there for their great welcoming and hospitality. Really recommend it and defiantly will returning again soon.
