Tipu Sultan Nottingham in Nottingham

Parking can be tricky when busy. Staff are very helpful always on hand and greet you straight away upon arrival. The restaurant has lovely decor modern and stylish everywhere is clean. Even the toilets !! The menu is not to bad . There was two of us so we decided to order and share. Starters were chicken wings fish pakora poppadoms & pickles . All was very nice beautiful flavours chicken and fish all tender. Main we ordered keema chicken and spinach with roti. Again chicken was tender plenty of spinach just how you expect. The keema was nice but I prefer mine broken down smaller personal preference. We didn't order desert as we didn't even finish these two courses. For drinks I always opt for water which came with lemon and mint in. Total paid £50 a fair price This was not my first visit been a few times .

Visited as a party of four. I honestly can not fault the place. Food was delicious and the staff were nothing short of excellent. The best dining experience I've had in years. Wonderful place.

Quality Food served at a eloquent layout with top customer service. Mr Safdar accomodated our sons graduation party and offered his assistance with everything to offer his assurances.

We’ve been to Tipu several times now, and it never fails to impress. The food is always full of flavour and comes in generous portions. The entire team is incredibly friendly and welcoming, with a special mention to Diana, who always goes the extra mile. Highly recommended!

Tipu Sultan Restaurant – Nottingham, UK Tipu Sultan in Nottingham is truly one of the best restaurants for authentic Indo-Pakistani cuisine. The restaurant is neat, clean, and well-organized with a tasteful layout that adds to the dining experience. We tried their fish, malai boti, and chaat papri as starters—all were flavorful and well-prepared. For the main course, the nihari, chicken karahi, and other dishes were absolutely delicious, rich in taste, and cooked to perfection. The staff were courteous, humble, and down to earth, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our visit. We will definitely return and highly recommend Tipu Sultan to our friends and family for a truly delightful dining experience.

Ordered for a collection, saag paneer main weighs under 100g in the box Female staff member on the door was rude and stand-off ish and pulled our food away from us asking us to "swipe" something Gave her a confused look and a bar guy had to come explain to her that we had ordered from the website

It’s rubbish service with the manager she didn’t know how to talk with the customer and she don’t know about the customer service. I request owner of the tipu Sultan. There has to be give them training. See talking like give us the free food and her behaviour is horrible on Manager, they don’t know about the customer service how they teach the staff is really bad Manager

Very nice indeed as we had lots of food which was,blazingly cool and they also have their own dessert menu and a extra car park at the back . The menus , kids menu , dessert menu and the regular menu . You have a perfect view of the houses and the luxury of the diner is astonishing as they have loads of spicy foods to try ! They have royalty and elegance in the building as you can walk in and be greeted like a king or queen by the friendly staff .

He buscado un biryani de carne ¿dónde está la carne? He estado cenando aquí desde que abrió y esta es la segunda vez que ha pasado en una porción absolutamente espantosa para llevar tamaño de carne para lo que se cslled un plato de carne. I recently had lunch at Tipu Sultan in Nottingham, and I must say the food was delicious and full of flavour. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good dining experience. A special shoutout to Zareen, who served us—she was extremely polite, attentive, and made sure we were well looked after throughout. Her service truly enhanced the overall experience. Lovely authentic Pakistani food.

Food was amazing, well it's something I would always say about tipu sultan where ever you go with out a doubt. Only thing I would say was a huge let down was the service. I am a frequent customer at the leicester branch and the service I get is they make you feel welcome and are extremely friendly. I wouldn't say the same about Nottingham branch. From the time we entered staff were literally staring at us and gave us such dirty looks as if we had done something majorly wrong by just entering. I had my nephew who is literally a baby. You wouldn't expect a baby to sit still. My 1 year old nephew tapped a utensil on the plate *twice* a waiter told us in a very rude manner to control him as it was disturbing other customers, funny thing was didn't hear any customers say anything. Never in my life have I had to go through such humiliation! Waiter who had come to recieve payment kept on giving us dirty look god knows why lol. I would avoid Tipu sultan the Notts branch after the level of service provided. Best to stick with Leicester branch they always treat us like family.

Worst dining experience, tasteless food : , food arrived nearly more than hour late , starters came soon but the chicken was raw , when we told the staff he said we should have said earlier but after repeated request of attention we were ignored on the table . No glasses or water given untill multiple requests . The food has 0 taste .. the paneer we ordered look like just panner and yogurt ,. Worst dining ! Worst food taste , no customer service .

The service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. We got our starters within minutes, but the mains took over an hour, even after repeatedly asking the staff multiple times. It felt like they had completely forgotten about us. When the food finally arrived, it was bland and tasteless—definitely not worth the wait. On top of that, we requested water when we placed our order, but it didn’t arrive until 45 minutes later, just 15 minutes before our mains. Even then, they didn’t provide any glasses, and we had to ask twice before they finally brought them. A truly disappointing experience!

Food is up there with the best .quality is there taste and smell is amazing ,only problem is sauces can be more generous with,but apart from that .place is amazing

Lovely place, the staff are friendly and they eventually resolved an issue I had. The food itself is mediocre tho, I've certainly had better takeaways for a similar price.

I'm very disappointed with service,I booked the table in advance for 10 people on arrival they were surprised and searching for available table and weren't prepared plus was no engagement in the environment food Burn service terrible . They forgot about the birthday cake slice with a candle that was arranged in advance . Terrible service. Don't recommend it

Hi we have eaten to day 4pm the food and amazing start to finish. So tasty and staff are really attentive and welcoming many John 10 out of 10.

My sister and I came to eat at Tipu Sultan for the first time, and it definitely won't be our last! The food was absolutely divine, the flavours, aroma, portions, and presentation were all 10/10. We enjoyed our food so much that we passed on our thanks to the chefs. The service we received from our server Umar was top notch too, he definitely added to our 'majestic dining' experience. Umar helped us with recommendations and made us both feel really welcomed.

The food is nice 😋 no complaints. The service is reasonable and can get busy at times. I was told that due to inflation, they had to make some changes. Parking available onsite, WC facilities also onsite. Nonalcoholic drinks served onsite. I normally do takeout 🥡. I feel the restaurant has changed from when it first opened. I guess that's just the norm 😕 🤷 I would still recommend the place 👌

Dont get me wrong the place is good i got the mysore tiger prawn bhuna and i was expecting it to be a decent amount of prawn and inside the prawn thing was 3 prawns and inside my aunts meal was hair and the price for the portions is too overpriced barely any meat or anything nostly sauce and the service was super slow yes i get its busy but it doesnt take hour and half

A little noisy but otherwise excellent.

Nuestra experiencia en Tipu Sultan fue profundamente decepcionante. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida por el gerente, que era excepcionalmente amable y atento. Lamentablemente, el servicio se deterioró rápidamente. Fuimos completamente ignorados por nuestro camarero durante 20 minutos antes de que se tomara nuestra orden, y durante toda la comida, el personal de espera fue desatenta y requirió una rapidez constante. No hubo disculpas ni reconocimiento de las demoras. Hablamos con el propietario, que se disculpó y nos aseguró que la factura reflejaría nuestra experiencia. Sin embargo, el gerente nos informó más tarde que el sistema till restringía el descuento que podían aplicar. Aunque apreciamos las disculpas del propietario, el mal servicio, especialmente durante una comida familiar con niños, arruinó completamente nuestra noche. No regresaremos. Service was very poor, was told 20-25 mins for the food to be ready yet 1 hour later we were still waiting. We had asked for water twice but after waiting so long we had finished our food. We had to continuously go up to the counter to ask for updates. Would not recommend

Lovely decor & it ends there. The Desi breakfast was standard at best. A mini yogurt dip & mini pickles were served with two large paronte which was insufficient, the sujji’s were overly greasy, channa masala tested like fart & the chai was served in a little cup. The service was slow, disorganised & no one came to check if everything was okay once the breakfast was served. Unfortunately I will not be going back nor will I recommend.

It was my first time at Tipu Sultan Nottingham. The experience wasn’t too good. The service needs to be improved. There was only one server which i think is never enough in dining experience. Secondly, furthermore on service first of all after placing order we weren’t given any waiting time and then after a long wait of 25 mins i my self had to go to the counter and again had to wait there 3-4 min so that someone could attend me upon interacting with the guy in black shirt i cane to knew that there was some technical problems going on in the kitchen and before my starters arrived i had finished my J2O’s ( you can imagine from this) finally our food came after a struggle of 30 mins and in this all i didn’t saw the manager in the dining area. Writing this all not to just get any freebie from you guys. Just giving an honest review from what i felt and observed. I myself am managing franchise so i thought it to write about this. The same food would have costed me 20-30 from any-other place and think with a good service. The mains were superb however, starters were not up to the mark.

Absolutely horrendous experience and worried about food hygiene. Would never visit again or recommend ... we visited on 8th Feb 2025 , we ordered one Garlic & chilli Naan ,They sent us two , complained about it and they said we will take off order and when we were in middle of eating one of staff members came and asked for the naan back and took it from the table ,it was the basket I was eating from . I was shocked and on top of this they charged us as well . He counted pieces of Naan and God knows if it was served to someone else. Also on top of this one side of restaurant is nice and other one is very run down and given the fact I had booked it in advance we were put in very ugly side of the restaurant which looks like a takeaway ,we went there for our anniversary meal after reviews, a total disappointment.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Prashanth, who went above and beyond to guide us through the menu with exceptional patience and professionalism. Despite the restaurant being busy, he took the time to provide insightful recommendations, making our decision effortless. His suggestions were spot on, and the food exceeded our expectations absolutely delicious! As someone who has tried several dishes here before, I can confidently say that the quality and service remain outstanding.

Came for a family birthday meal. Wasn't the best warm welcome. Service was disappointing as we had to wait ages for us to be served and our table to be cleaned. One member of staff was very apologetic regards to the delay inbeween service, I'm not sure if they had enough staff on. Had hot plates but by the time the food came out they were cold. The food was ok unfortunately on this visit the service wasnt good. This was our first time here and will definitely be our last.

We were a group of 30 friends, had a 3-course lunch in Tipu Sultan Nottingham. We had an amazing time, in one of the private rooms upstairs. The food was delicious, Naresh who served our food and looked after us were attentive, prompt and super helpful. We had use of audio, and ample space, with a prayer room just next to where we were. It was all lovely, we enjoyed it.

I visit Tipu Sultan frequently both with friends and work outings, and the food is generally OK, I went with my family on 28th Dec 2024, and both the service and food were extremely bad. They had a party upstairs and as a result, didn't focus on our table. The waiters weren't around when you needed one and we found ourselves having to look around for when one would show. The biggest issue was the food came out luke warm, in particular the palak gosht which is normally our favourite dish was completely cold. We paid on departure and informed the lady after paying and she didn't have much to say other than sorry and looked startled. I don't think we'll be returning very soon.

Worst food I ever had , we ordered mazhana (brain fry ), kadai paneer, chilly chicken , dal . In the brain fry I could see only oil in the box ,in panner they forget to add salt , in the case of dal it was not cooked properly. Such a worst experience, when we call manager and inform our concern he was like it’s due to high orders and busy , this happened, if they are not able to do they should have stopped the order. Never gonna come here or order there once again . The next day morning my friends has stomache upset .

La peor comida que he probado, pedimos mazhana (alevines) , kadai paneer, pollo frío, dal . En los alevines cerebrales pude ver solo aceite en la caja , en sartén se olvidan de agregar sal , en el caso de dal no se cocinó adecuadamente. Tan peor experiencia, cuando llamamos a manager e informamos de nuestra preocupación estaba como si se debiera a pedidos altos y ocupados , esto pasó, si no son capaces de hacerlo deberían haber parado el pedido. Nunca voy a venir aquí o pedir allí una vez más.
