Superb. Food and service were simply brilliant. Cannot fault Masala Junction at all. We ate at 8pm on a Saturday, restaurant was busy but not too full so the atmosphere was just right. Starters were very enjoyable - perfect size to whet your appetite, especially the Tulasi Tikka. We ordered a variety of dishes for our group of four, king prawn, fish and chicken. All were delightful, not too heavy on the spices (accurate to their descriptions) with incredible depth but not drowning out the more delicate flavours. Masala Junction was recommended by Indian friends as being their favourite restaurant in Nottingham, and it certainly lives up to that. We will return.

Ive been visiting this restaurant since it opened. Ive been several times since it was sold to the current owner and for the most part the quality has been maintained, however, on my most recent visit I came away with a sense that something has changed. The service is still excellent but the food is not quite the same. Additionally, there is gaffer tape holding some of the leather seating together and if you catch in wrong its very sticky on your hands, not exactly in line with the premium price that is charged. My wife and I both came away with a feeling of 'sort of'. Everything was sort of as we expected but just not quite the same. There have been subtle changes to the poppadum's and nan breads which definitely feel cheaper. Additionally, the starters and mains were 'sort of' what we expected but it just felt there were subtle changes that have impacted the overall quality of the food, the sauce for the Goan fish curry has definitely been changed and not for the better. Maybe there is a new chef or supplier, who knows, its just not quite the same. The big problem now is 'do we go back'. Its not the cheapest restaurant around but we always viewed a visit here as a treat knowing we would get great service and outstanding food. On the basis the food quality has dropped, it's difficult to justify the additional expense for what was in reality an average meal. Such a shame, because the staff are lovely and we usually enjoy the food. Hopefully this was a one off experience and things improve in the future.

EXTRAORDINARY ***** Yesterday evening on the 29th of December, my beautiful baby cutie & Fiancé Katarina celebrated her birthday. I wished to surprise her with a dinner reservation someplace new and even the Cuisine I kept a secret. "Fine Dining Indian Restaurant" are the keywords that won my commitment to booking us a table for 2 at Masala Junction. The Restaurant is situated within a stunning Old Bank Building (built in 1929) with architectural features to pleasure even the most fastidious Diner. The atmosphere in Masala Junction Restaurant is warmly 'pitch perfect' and so is its Staff. Shoutout is so deserved for Akash (apologies if spelled incorrectly) who was our most astutely fantastic Host/Server for the evening. He made our dinner at Masala Junction Restaurant as memorable for all the best reasons as can be experienced anywhere else. The food here is almost ridiculously delicious & my Saag Gosht was truly the BEST Saag I have ever tasted out of the 9 countries where I had ordered the dish. A quiet word with Akash during my Fiancé's shorter powder room step away, led to him in total quiet preparing a luxury cake with lit-Sparkler to surprise Katarina the Birthday Chica at the end of our meal. I met the Owner in happenstance before our exit and he is a stellar human being that deserves Masala Junction's success. Thank you so much everyone at Masala Junction Restaurant, Nottingham ---

The best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. That really sums it up, the food is exceptional! Give the methi murgh a try, an incredible thick sauce, almost paste like with fenugreek, herbs and spices, packed with flavour, delicious! The staff are professional and friendly, the restaurant is spotless and tastefully decorated, just a wonderful culinary experience, well worthy of travelling the small distance from the city. Cant wait to go back, thanks to the team, keep up the great work!

Lovely food and good value for money. A lovely place to have some curry in a fancier setting.I went with a party of 4 and booked a table which I would recommend doing. I got a starter, 2bbeers, main, rice, naan and shared dessert and it came to £50 per person so good value I think. Overall I would definitely come back.

The food itself was excellent, a clever , innovate twist on traditional "Indian" food. Sat in the very centre of the restaurant was a large group with 5 children, ranging from a baby upwards. The older children were totally out of control - screaming, running around, throwing food about etc etc. None of the parents took any action, and the restaurant staff/management simply watched. From the body language of the other clients, most were as annoyed as we were. Some restaurants now have "over 12's" nights, or a policy that children must remain at the table at all times. Unless they want to lose many of their clients Masala Junction need to consider action such as this.

Wow. Just wow! I called at 20:30 on a Saturday to book a table for 21:30 and was greeted by a lovely man who booked us in, no trouble. When we entered the building it was instantly warm and welcoming, with soft but upbeat music playing at the perfect volume. The ambience was spot on. Once seated, our drinks order was taken and poppadoms with dips were brought to us very quickly. The corrainder dip was sublime, a really fresh flavour. Starters were onion bhajis and the paneer and brocoli dish - both my partner and myself thoroughly enjoyed these. I had never had brocoli served in this way and it really worked! Mains were chicken tikka masala and chicken xacutti which were delicious and perfectly spiced. We shared a pilau rice and had a naan each (my partner doesn't like pershwari but it's my favourite!). If we didn't live so far away this would be our new go to! Everything about the service, food, drinks, menu, decor... It was all 100/10

We do really like this place, only go for special occasions as it is pricey! Lovely atmosphere and great food. Usually would score 5, but the onion bhajis were sooooo disappointing, too well done and all we received for £6.25 was 2 tiny bhajis, don't mind paying the price but come on the portion size definitely didn't justify it. The waiters were really knowledgeable about the menu and really friendly They have a great menu for vegans, and they made the Roti vegan for as the pitta bread wasn't, which was really nice. I came across this place during a short stay in Nottingham. It is a fine dining restaurant and the menu intrigued me. After a lovely conversation with the manager, I decided to get a takeaway and am very pleased that I did. The vegetable samosas were excellent and served with some chick peas, chat style. The chicken tikka was also excellent and Amritsari tilapia fish was simply unique. However, the Junction Goat Ka Salan stole the show. It is an authentic family recipe and was magnificent. I really look forward to going back to this brilliant operation.

Situated in a wonderful old bank building the Masala Junction is conveniently situated within 5 min stroll from the Mercury hotel. On our arrival my wife & I received a very warm welcome and we’re shown to our table. Inside was decorated for Christmas however the restaurant’s own tasteful decor was attractive and very fitting. The menu although not huge had a very good choice of starters, Mains and deserts, additionally a varied choice of wines was available. We ordered the onion barji & vegetable samosas which arrived swiftly, both looked & tasted amazing! For Mains we ordered Chicken Jalfrezi which was a tasty, and delightfully spicy dish & Chicken Tika Tak also delicious although less spicy. Both dishes were generous portions, super tasty, food arrived nice and hot and all was complimented by sides of light perfectly cooked Pilau rice, potato & spinach Sag and quite possibly the best Nan bread we’ve ever tasted! We were both too full for deserts so unable to review those other than to say that what was on offer looked incredibly diverse and sounded delicious. The wine was also superb and the service was outstanding, we cannot fault anything and would highly recommend.

What can be more enjoyable than having a decent curry during a cold rainy day? My very first impression on non-food matters: Excellent service as if you are dining at a Michelin restaurant and great ambience. Their foods are amazing! Look at the food presentation of the starters, simply beautiful and most importantly, they taste really good. Curry (I could not remember the Indian name for it) had a balance taste of spiciness and spices with a generous amount of onions, which makes a great combination with the Garlic Naan. Refreshing taste of the dessert mainly made from carrots, quite a new experience for me. With a satisfying pint of Kingfisher, nothing can go wrong with this meal. I am grateful for the fact that the restaurant was saved from permanent closure. This is an Indian restaurant that you should not miss if you are looking for delicious and authentic Indian meal. I would have rated more than 5 stars if the system allows me to do so.

Visited on Saturday 11th for a romantic meal for two. The reputation of Masala Junction precedes it, and I must say it delivers on all counts. Top-class, London-quality, family-owned establishment. What you don't necessarily expect is the value to be so good, what with the average main being around £15 and being substantial enough to satisfy a considerable appetite. The chutney selection with the poppadoms was a great way to start off, and the delightful spiced potato patty starter (Aloo Tikki) is well recommended. The family recipe Junction Goat Ka Salan is phenomenonal. Don't fret about it if you're unfamiliar with kid goat as a meat, if you like red meat generally there is nothing really challenging about it, and the balance of spice and flavour is mouth-watering - falls right off the bone! Not overly spicy. The wine selection is master somelier curated (there's, like, only about 200 ish of such experts in the world, apparently). This is great, because I don't really know my wine. The waiter was able to suggest a complimentary wine for my meal. I had the Camarsac Bordeaux (France) - it was delicious. This place also does a mean Jamaican coffee (Captain Morgan's!), which is nice for afters. Did I mention the restaurant is soundproofed? The restaurant is soundproofed. Even sirens flashing by on the busy road outside made no interruption to the gentle jazz ambience inside. I spent £67,00 on a memorable meal for two with wines, starters, mains and an Irish coffee to finish. Will definitely be back.

Food — The quality and flavor of food was excellent. You can feel it's really fresh. I must say I have visited many restaurants in the UK and have reviewed the food and quality, but the freshness I saw at this hotel is at another level. When you visit any Asian restaurant you will more or less have the same food menu and many paneer varieties. I have seen only one item of Paneer here and that has completely amazed me. The menu had a few items listed, but they were unique, and I can guarantee whichever you order it will definitely be at par quality and taste. You will regret having no Paneer item here. Price - Reasonable price, it cost £82 for 5 people. Location – It is on a high road, next to LIDL. Reservation - We booked the table in advance to avoid any delays. I recommend a reservation. The restaurant is quick in responding to your queries. Customer service – The service offered here is nothing less than a family welcome, brilliant staff, smiling face, happy to chat and offer any advice you want. The staff will come and ask for anything you want or if you need any help. The staff were extremely talented and trained to deliver 5-star experience. The food was presented and served hot. The owner is from Pakistan and chatted with us in a friendly manner. The owner understand we have had a long day and were really tiered and hungry, and was very quick in delivering our food. He went extra mile, served with us Poppadom and chatni (highly recommended Mint and Apple Chutney) until the main course arrives. Next time I visit Nottingham I will surely visit the restaurant and have food.

We have sampled plenty of top notch indian food before in Leiscester, London, Paris and this was one of the best, I will definitely be going back again next time I am in Nottingham, the menu was really interesting with plenty of vegetarian options, we had a super good meal.

Attentive staff, smart surroundings and above all, delicious food. We were staying in Nottingham, for the weekend,so unfortunately it will be a while before we can re-visit.

Difficult review to write as the food was good, as was the service. However the value for money was extremely poor with regards one of the main dishes we ordered - Prawn Malabar. The meal arrived and was literally 4 prawns and nothing else in...

Friends and I found this restaurant by chance when staying nearby this week. What a treat. First impression - immaculate white table cloths, sparkling wine glasses, healthy plants. 2nd impression - friendly, professional staff, who added to the sense of calm and orderliness. 3rd impression - the food was excellent. The attention to detail was excellent. We loved it.

Venue excellent, service excellent, goan fish curry, bland. Obviously a pre made sauce. More flavour in a supermarket own brand jar. Not what I expect when paying £15.00 for a main.

Wonderful restaurant. Every aspect from the food, drinks, service to the decor is all spot on. The staff work hard to ensure an enjoyable dining experience, and they succeed. Have enjoyed numerous meals at Masala Junction, including takeouts and it always impresses.

Don’t be put off by the drab looking outside and the interior decor, the food is fantastic. We stopped on the off chance of getting a table, the place was empty. We ordered drinks and to be honest nea
