Tamatanga in Nottingham

What a great Sunday lunch visit! Food was amazing- freshly cooked to order. The service was happy and helpful. Loved the ambience- great fun! We’re going to the Concert hall and wanted a meal beforehand. Will definitely be back! Recommend the Chaatbombs , aubergine curry and keralean chicken

Fabulous food at a very reasonable price and a lovely restaurant. The manager lady needs to work on her customer service! Will definitely return for the food and hope there’s a different manager on duty.

It's the worst experience. Especially the waitress, it's perfect for her to be a Mean actress. Cause that's her, no need to act... Very serious discrimination, during our hour-long meal, this waitress came to urge no less than 7 times (not even bother to disturb other tables 1 time), and every time she came over, her hands and her eyebrows and facial features kept twisting, accompanied by the eye sight with contempt, which almost made me unable to swallow. I mean it's if she is uneducated, but at least be respect and polite to customers in restaurant. Or just leave the customer service industry, be the Queen who wears Prada if she can, otherwise no BB, be responsible The food is nice, thank you, the chef 💞

Chilled vibe - great food and atmosphere

Went for dinner with the wife on Sunday and it truly exceeded all expectations. I had the lamb railway and the wife had a masala and it was one of the best indians we’ve had to date. Our server, Erin was quick and polite and answered all our questions with vigor. Lovely experience 😃

Some Indian friends took us to Tamatanga for lunch and it was excellent on every level. Now, having had Asian friends for over 50 years and experienced their great cuisine, I am very picky about what I eat. A consequence is that I rarely eat food in Indian restaurants, as the food has often been adapted to the Western palate and that is not for me. Frank and I chose saag and bangin balgan with tandoori roti and mint yogurt. The saag was menued as saag paneer, but I mentioned that if it was possible, I would prefer just the saag without the addition of the paneer. No problem at all! The whole menu was delicious and we will certainly be selecting that again on our future visit. The service from the lovely Anna was spot on -friendly welcoming and professional with a great personality Thanks Anna!

Delhi Lamb Curry was sensational and served very quickly.

The food is absolutely incredible; especially the tandoori chicken, lamb chops, and salmon. The meat is really high quality and cooked to perfection! You can really taste the spice of India, and the healthy ingredients used. Highly recommend to anyone looking to eat here in Nottingham

Went to Tamatanga on Saturday had an absolutely fabulous meal! Don't commonly come to Nottingham so didn't know where to go but was recommended by a friend. Food was lovely and our server Anna made sure all our needs were met. My only complaint would be that I couldn't come more due to not being in Nottingham anytime soon.

We had a very enjoyable meal for our team's end of contract night out. They prepared for all 15 of us very well and we were shown to our table very quickly . Everyone got what they ordered in a timely manner and no one had any issues with their chosen meal. The food was very tasty and generous portions. Everyone said they enjoyed their meals.

Came here last week and hadn’t been before but my husband had been previously and said it was good. I had the gun powder paneer to start followed by the goan fish curry. Both were beautiful. Our waitress Anna couldn’t do enough for us and was very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

The food and service was fab but the showshopper was the blonde waitress- ANNA, she was incredible so patient and understanding of my dietary needs and showed me the toilets. Thank you Anna for making my experience at Tamtanga magical! I’ll come again

Weve had a fabulous night with Paris as our waitress. She was thorough and attentive when it came to my coeliac allergy. Bursting personality and friendly. Our first time here and would definitely come again!

Bottomless brunch was fab but made even better by our wonderful server Tania. She was outstanding!! Food was lovely and she went out of her way to accommodate gluten free needs even though the bottomless brunch menu was a little bit lacking in that department. What a gem! Thank you Tania. Never had to wait for a drink and the staff were all brilliant. Great value for money and highly recommend- will be back!

A lovely meal with lovely company. The butter chicken reminds me of childhood; poetic almost given that we dined today in honour of my dear friend’s 18th birthday. Paris was attentive and friendly, and made us feel welcome. A triumph!

There were twenty two of us on a reunion. The food was good and served quickly by friendly, efficient staff. The restaurant has a good buzz about it. A really good evening and would certainly go again.

We first visited Tamatanga for my daughter's 27th birthday in 2023. I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff and the gorgeous decor in the restaurant. I knew we were in for a treat and was the perfect place for a celebration, so much so that we came back for my partner's birthday yesterday! They offer a wide variety of Indian dishes. The ones we've tried are delicious, well seasoned and fresh tasting. The spice is wonderfully balanced and compliments the flavour of the dishes perfectly! I would highly recommend trying the cocktails too! There are some very unique mixes that I haven't seen anywhere else. I have often seen "buy one get one free" offers on cocktails before 7pm (I'm not sure if it's every day, so double check with the restaurant before your visit). I cannot compliment the staff at Tamatanga enough! They are clearly passionate people who have a drive to make sure every customer feels welcomed. Massive thanks to the whole team for making our evening special, in particular Anna/Hannah (I wish my memory was better for names!) who delighted our whole table with her bubbly personality! We shall be holding all of our family celebrations at Tamatanga from now on!

We came across Tamatanga by accident but were so glad we did - the food is delicious!I had the thali and it's was a good size and the dhal and aubergine curries were worth on thier own. Staff are lovely even though it was really busy. Would go again!

Ambience, music and service everything is top notch. For dinner I had a Tama Thali had really great options I am vegetarian so me and my friend shared the Thali, for people eating vegetarian I will recommend the mix vegetable the spice the curry everything is in the right consistency. Looking forward to dining again.

The BEST Indian street food I have ever had. Absolutely superb. Being vegetarian sometimes choices can be limited but not here. Fantastic experience from start to finish.

Visited on Saturday late afternoon with adult family. Excellent thali dishes and superb naan along with a buzzing atmosphere made for a very enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend the Railway Cabin curry (lamb). Absolutely stunning dish!

Ordered food lotsof times only once has the food that was ordered arrived in full . I have just had the rudest man calling me lovely on the phone trying to tell me my order wasn't correct because of deliveroo and i should contact them , i know deliveroo do not pack the orders or sign them off . We visit the restaurant lot's but will think twice rude people if you pay for something you should receive it .

The food here is always great - and the staff very friendly. My friend and I go fairly regularly and the greetings we get, particularly from Anna K, make us feel very welcome.

The service was speedy, and the ambiance was fantastic. The taste of the food was truly exceptional, showcasing consistently high standards. Our extensive order left us so impressed that we decided to pack the remaining items for a takeaway. Overall, a delightful dining experience.

Went back after a long time. Their service was amazing. The lady at the entrance never let go of her smile, regardless of how tired she was! Food as always, brilliant. A thaali works for two so you can enjoy a proper, reasonably priced meal. Remember that their portions are big! Definitely will be going back 💕

The food itself was good but the lady at reception was racist. We waited there for 20 minutes but she was too busy to give table to other white people. I have asked her twice and her answer was table for 3 is not available...
