Had a lovely birthday meal here. Ordered the sharer for 2, food was lush, especially the angry bird! Had 3 small curries rice, little yogurt pots and roti like bread. Excellent value for money was very full! Also comes with salted caramel for dessert, as it was my birthday the waitress suzie brought a brownie with ice cream as a treat! Such a lovely gesture! Would highly recommend x

I found this mowgli not as good as the ones in Liverpool. The food wasn't as good and the tracle fries were burnt and no where near as much tracle as from the other branches I have been to. The service was good here but the venue was quite cold.

Came here on Friday for mine and my husbands last meal out before Christmas. Beautiful interior with tapas style dishes. The servers kate and Caitlin were very informative and knew a lot about the flavour components of each dish. We opted for sharing menu which they recommend and this did not disappoint! About 8 dishes ram-packed with flavour and to top it off you get an ice cream at the end which was subtle but luxurious! We will definitely be back and thank you guys for having us!

Fresh, tasty, exciting food. We had the office workers tiffin boxes. They were a super selection of tasty curries. You could taste fresh spices as opposed to the generic flavours of a lesser Indian restaurant. The staff were lovely too. I’d very much recommend.

our second visit and were hoping it would be as good as last time - we were one of the first in and the restaurant was cold - we ordered a selection of food and were given metal plates that had been stacked up at the side - so cold plates in a cold restaurant. Last time we were brought the smaller dishes first and then the curry dishes but this time it all came out together so was cold in a matter of minutes. The manager said they could only work with what they had but i'm sure the owner of the restaurant chain wouldn't accept food on a stone cold plate. My husband also had to report an issue with the mens toilets which couldn't have been properly checked as they has only been open an hour. I don't want to say what the issue was as it's fairly grim :( .. food was tasty, the smaller sticky chicken and ginger chicken dishes were dry though. We won't be going back.

Cosy restaurant with nice atmosphere. Food was good but expensive for the portion sizes - the curries come in tiny bowls so by the time you order several it ends up expensive. Have had better Indian food from other restaurants which are much less expensive, but I’d say a lot of the traction about this place comes from its aesthetic with the lights everywhere (which is nice). If you’re ordering a cocktail, the margarita was very good! 🌶️🍸

If you like formal eating with a starter, main and dessert this place is not for you. It's fantastic tasty Indian food that comes out when it's ready. The staff will help you pick how many dishes to have. I can thoroughly recommend the monkey wrap and sticky chicken they were definitely my favourites. We also had the Mowgli house chicken and Mother Butter Chicken with some rice and Roti. All washed down with a bottle of Pinot Grigio. It's our 2nd visit and we will be back.

On visiting family, I went with their recommendation of somewhere to eat with a lot of decent vegan options - with a few branches around the country, this Mowgli is in the heart of the funky part of Nottingham (apparently!) and close to some outstandingly unusual and interesting places. If you've not been here before, you'll get a quick summary of how it works. The dishes are often smaller in size than the average "main dish" because the idea is to sample lots of different but complementary flavours. That's ideal for me, as I love to order a thali or similar whenever it's on the menu. They also have a dedicated menu that consolidates all of the vegan options, so you don't have to scan through to find out what you can eat, which I found very helpful! The cocktails and mocktails were delightful and I highly recommend the cinnamon cola if you're avoiding the alcohol. Mind you, the others also looked tempting so I'll be working my way through them when I return here, which I hope will be often! The food itself? Well it's every bit as amazing as it sounds on the menu. I really couldn't decide between the dishes on offer so luckily they had a Tiffin Roulette, 4 dishes chosen by the chef to balance each other, similar to how an Ayurvedic platter might work. I knew I definitely wanted the tamarind treacle fries (totally worth it!) and the Keema Karma (also very good!) so ordered them as well, thankfully getting another Keema as part of the Tiffin so we could both have more each! Every dish is packed with a wonderful combination of flavours that leave you wanting more, and it's the little touches like the thinly sliced ginger on the chickpeas that really elevate this food beyond the mundane selections of your average Indian restaurant. Both of us are vegan so I can't tell you what the meat dishes are like but if they're anything like the vegan ones, you won't be disappointed. Prices are reasonable for this calibre of food - we ordered a bit too much because I really didn't want to miss out on any of it but even when stuffed to the point of almost needing a nap, it only came to around £30 per head (which includes a drink each). There's a 10% service charge but the experience was so good, I left a bit more. They also add on a charity donation so you'll be supporting a good cause while satisfying your taste buds. If you're a bit miserly, you could always ask them to not charge you the donation but if you're that kind of person, you've probably misunderstood the entire ethos and vibe of Mowgli, so maybe eat somewhere with less of a wholesome attitude? I love supporting places that recognise that companies and people can be a force for good even in the most unlikely of places, so I'll be adding even more of that donation - after all, why not feed your soul along with your body? The venue itself is tastefully lit (I'm not a fan of big bright lights so this felt warm and interesting) with casual dining tables on two floors, and an intriguing set of suspended chairs around one table, something I'm apprehensive about but still eager to try next time as it looks quite fun. Everywhere was clean and tidy, including the toilets which are up two flights of stairs (if you've come up from the ground floor and can't immediately find them, keep going up!). The staff are super friendly and will recommend dishes by telling you which ones they can't stop eating for themselves, which felt a lot more genuine than many places whose only concern is to upsell the dish of the day. I'd imagine you could grab a quick bite to eat here but bear in mind that the dishes might come out as and when they're ready and not necessarily all together, which I feel is part of the experience of well-executed "street food" that keeps on giving. However, my advice is to slow down, kick back, and relax into the dining experience. Order some roti bread to dip and scoop the wet dishes, and dive into some more of those fries! You won't be disappointed!

We had eaten here before and enjoyed the meal so we’re looking forward to dinner with friends We were welcomed warmly and shown to our table upstairs which was a great setting We ordered a bottle of wine which was brought unscrewed with no offer to try and one of the glasses had lipstick round the rim We ordered food and then the wait began. We were happy to sit and chat but the delay got worse and worse. We asked 3 times when our food would be arriving as others around us were getting theirs! We felt fobbed off the first 2 times and on the 3rd it became apparent they had lost our order!! We would have much preferred to have been told this at the outset. Mistakes happen but it’s how you manage them that key! Food was good although we were ravenous when it finally arrived! They did take 50% off the food order but again claimed it was due to things outside of their control. Just a sorry we messed up would have been better! We won’t return after this experience which is a shame but there are better Indian restaurants in Nottingham with much better service

Mowgli is such an easy restaurant to overlook as it's tucked away towards the end of Hockley, but comes hugely recommended if you enjoy Indian food and are looking for a fun, social dining experience. Instead of ordering a single main dish, you order multiple small dishes which make up a whole (kind of like tapas). The recommended amount is two menu items plus a side carb (i.e. a rice or bread), which has always been more than enough for me. I've eaten here several times now, ordered something different every time, and absolutely loved everything I've ordered. Special mention to the incredible Mowgli mocktails, which are some of my favourite in Notts! Would recommend booking ahead of time if you want to visit on the weekend, as the restaurant is quite small so spaces go fast.

Went here last night, service absolutely terrible, had a waitress roll her eyes at us when indecisive on food as menu is confusing as there is no clear direction in this restaurant, curry house? Tapas? We then proceeded to be ignored by said waitress and had to call a member of staff over to take our order as we were waiting for 20 minutes. Received an icy reception to only wanting to drink water. The waitress that brought our food was slamming around and seemed like she couldn’t wait to be away from the table. Only good part was they brought the bill quick so we didn’t have to be in there any longer.

Mowgli experience was something to remember, food was amazing and seemed almost, experimental. The chat bombs were my favourite of the bunch but the mains received were also above average to say the least. The bunny chow was especially outstanding. Although not something I would have usually ordered, it met my expectations to a T. Suzanna I believe was the name of the lovely lady who served us with a smile, came here for my cousins birthday and we were made to feel very special. Situated on a busy lively corner of hockey, Mowgli offers some great viewing spots of the busy nightlife of Nottingham, with a beautiful ambiance, low intimate lighting, and a hum of chitter chatter, it really does give a street food essence. Service was quick, efficient, our server Suzanna was extremely attentive, she overheard our evening plans and politely asked if we needed any local recommendations after dinner. Unsure of what to try on the menu, she recommended a sharing platter, which suited the evening and our needs perfectly and some drinks to accompany. We had a fantastic lunch here and opted for the street food sharer at £25pp. This is 6 dishes of meat and vegetarian plus roti bread and rice including a salted caramel ice cream for dessert. I am vegetarian and my friend wasn't but that was no problem, as the staff ensured that we received our cuisine of choice. The food quality was delicious and amazing. Compared to other restaurants, the cuisine was about using curry flavours with different herbs and spices, e.g. tamarind, funugreek and ginger plus much more. We received a warm welcome and found the serving staff friendly, attentive and helpful, giving advice on the vast menu if you'd not been before. All in all, we had a fantastic time and will definitely return.

"Mowgli" in Nottingham offers an inviting atmosphere that immediately impresses with its stylish decor and warm ambiance. The elegant lighting, tasteful artwork, and comfortable seating create a welcoming environment perfect for a night out. However, the experience takes a downturn when it comes to the food. The menu, while extensive and filled with a variety of Indian dishes, ultimately falls short in execution. The flavors are lackluster and fail to capture the authentic vibrancy one expects from Indian cuisine. Portion sizes are disappointingly small, leaving diners unsatisfied and questioning the value for money. Moreover, the prices are exorbitantly high, which is particularly disheartening given the mediocre quality of the food. While the restaurant's ambience suggests a fine dining experience, the culinary offerings do not match up to the same standard. In summary, "Mowgli" excels in creating a beautiful and comfortable setting, but unfortunately, it does not deliver on the most crucial aspect: the food. If you're looking for a place with a great atmosphere to enjoy drinks or a light bite, it might be worth a visit. However, if you're seeking a satisfying and flavorful Indian meal, you might want to explore other options in Nottingham.

My friend and I went over there to try their dessert and we decided to make an order for brownie and gulab jamun and both of them are very delicious but I expected something different like brownie was ok ok so I feel they can make it and present it with more ingredients like choco chip on top of the ice cream and lil bit chocolate sauce or melted chocolate something like that.❤😊

This is my favourite restaurant. The decor is stunning and there is clear thought put into every detail of the place. The location is super convenient being not too far out of the city centre. The food is always perfect and there is plenty of choice to please anyone. I recommend tiffins, they’re reasonably priced and you get a nice variety of dishes. Definitely would recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Potential for 5* sadly the food not there yet! Completely a random stop, in fact my first ever meal in Nottingham at Mowgli as it was buzzing with people and was quite decked up with all the string lights indoors. Just went in! Lots of positives- ambience great; presentation bang on, specially the tiffins boxes and the typical dabba style, instantly connected and made me nostalgic; service was quick and staff was nice and friendly. However, the food!! Totally get the point of adjusting the flavours to local palate but at least keep it close to original. All my dishes were so low on salt and everything tasted sweet… why? The base for curries was good though and it does reflect Indian home style cooking inspiration. Sorry wish the food was bit more balanced on flavours.

We may have been a bit loud, but the service was impeccable. Our waiter really made out night and I think we made him laugh. Great experience once again.

Good tasty food and good service with buzzing atmosphere we enjoyed the most. Warm and welcoming staff and wide variety of food choices to order from the menu. Indian food does provide good options for vegetarians and vegans. The street food starters including bhel and their version of paani puri is available. We tried bhel puri and it was tasty, but I did find the portions could be bit more than the size they served. From the mains, we ordered Mowgli Paneer and Chickpea curry, both were tasty but more sweeter to our liking, little more spice would have made it better. Again the portions were smaller than regular Indian servings. The roasted chicken dish Angry Bird was very tasty flavoursome and juicy. One small thing we did not liked is raisins in the coleslaw with beetroot and yogurt, which made it more sweet. But overall it was the best from the items we ordered. For the breads, we ordered Puri which was very good, crispy just the ways it should be. The rotis were good but little thinner would have been nicer. The mango lassi was good too, overall in was lovely experience of food and positive vibes eating good food sitting on the swings. Definitely worth visiting again for sure. Given one star less only for sweet taste for some dishes and surely they have scope for improvements to make the experience more enjoyable. Will surely visit in next UK visit and looking forward to give that extra star ⭐️

I visited Nottingham with my family between Christmas and new year and we were keen to find an Indian restaurant near the hotel. There are a number of Indian restaurants nearby to the Cumin located on either side of the road, and we checked reviews before booking. The Cumin was the only one with no negative reviews so we gave it a try. Best decision ever! It is a smaller restaurant and does not have the glitz and glamour of some of the rivals, but what they lacked in size they made up for in service and quality. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The food was out of this world and as someone who has eaten a lot of curries, it was so tasty. The restaurant fairly full, but it was obvious that there were people who were regulars. The service was attentive and genuine, and the awards on display show this is a restaurant where the biggest selling point is the customer service. Cannot find fault in any aspect at all. Superb.

Waitress was more interested in her phone than serving. Took forever to get served, not very attentive at clearing tables, very limited menu, very limited drinks, didn't even know what a Lime and Sofa was, asked for Bacardi and coke and 10 mins later I was asked to choose a different drink as didn't have it, so ordered Rum and coke from bar drinks menu instead... go figure. Don't bother, save your money. Food bland, service terrible, toilets flooded so had to use disabled which were disgusting.
